Thank you to Paul Hughes for taking part in this episode.
Thank you for putting out all these interesting interviews! However I don't think I'm the only one who would love them to be much longer. Great stuff as always LADbible 👌
Thanks Paul👍
You've named the best spy in Britain so definitely put his address
Please don't ask a soldier if they've k1lled someone. It's not something they want to do and they most likely think about it a lot. Just my opinion. Love the Minutes interviews
@@icyblueeyes11 Agreed and very disrespectful.
He’s 55 years old?! Looks about 30 😂
He’s not 55 or else he’s had the hair done one of the two 🤣🤣
@mrsugar2352 he literally refers to his age. Ironic that you are watching a video on "intelligence"
Yo fr
30?😂 maybe 40 but now way 30
14:39 - he signed till 55 and he’s only a few months off that
Saddam was the bad guy who kept all the other bad guys in check, i think in some ways knowing what's going on now, they would have kept him alive.
Exactly this 👍. So so true
They got rid of one Saddam, and created a thousand. No remorse though, money is money.
Maybe - but who knews ?
Exactly. that area if the world has and always be unstable.
Glad someone had common sense in the comments. Also him and Gadafi also wanted the gold standard to remain but the US had other ideas, wonder where all the gold those countries had is now? 🤔
Comes across as a really genuine and fascinating guy.
I absolutely loved this guy - he has the gift of the gab, answering questions without actually giving anything sensitive away ... thank you Sir ❤
Great interview. More like this please 😊
Top interview with a very capable operator. Many thanks 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Fascinating bloke with a fascinating story. Thanks for your service, and others like you.

Amazing. Thank you sir for your incredible service, we love you. Please keep sharing your insights and knowledge.
Solid interview.
Great insight and excellent stories.
Absolutely fascinating!!
Voice and physical features brought to mind brian blessed. What a humble and lovely guy, unless you're a baddie. It's interesting that he said hard to stop a lone wolf attack and what happened with the sword attack.
Learn Pashto in 3 to 6 months? Written and spoken? Kudos!!
I call bullshit
@@benhallo1553There being intensive language training programmes for military personnel is well documented. Especially for someone who’s already fluent in other languages. If he speaks Welsh, he’s likely to have a natural aptitude for it - cos that language is impenetrable
@@Steaminlidz he speaks welsh because he grew up in wales. I’m self taught in German and basically did an immersion experience studying abroad. That was hard enough. There is no way he could have learned a non European language to a good level in 6 months. We’ll never say never, but I am incredibly skeptical
@@Steaminlidzapparently our guy Ben here needs to improve his English comprehensive skills since well documented would mean he wud have to do some research. Then he wont be able to call bs on everything like the peog

An exceptionally intelligent man.
""Oh, you're a spy then" hahaha.
Granddad was probably really proud.
Cool dude.
Brilliant! Paul is such an interesting person - engaging, intelligent and easy to talk to. Well Done for getting him in!
His story about his grandad and the card killed me🤣🤣🤣🤣
That comment about his grandfather was so funny
You can't pull the wool over Grandad's eyes.
Dude's intense!
Just a grizzled war veteran with amazing insights.
Simply wow
The callout definitions are bemusing; I guess time flies and these things aren't commonly known anymore.
excellent vid
Why have you stopped putting these on Spotify?
love this man - very cool
There are amazing people between us
What a fascinating character. Imagine the stories he's not allowed to tell us!
He is delightful, he is going to be an even more delightful old guy in the corner of a pub someday. I wonder how the armed forces of modern countries feel about pretty anyone who served these days making a youtube channel or doing podcasts, interviews like these? His description of the vibe of Saddam is pretty much word for word of Chapelle meeting OJ haha.
A fellow Welshman 👍🏻🥃🍻
Wait a second, I recognise this chap. He was with Des Powell in National Army Museum at a Damien Lewis chat. I took the boy whose heading to RM, the boy casually asked Paul, "What's your story?", "If I told you, I'd have to kill you."
How we laughed. Quietly, to ourselves. Outside. In the car. Breaking the speed limit. Away. He's a big chap.
LOVE this accent
I feel my manliness being compromised by just listening to this absolute unit! Top bloke 👍👍
Being compromised? So your saying u are being turned on by his manliness, and alpha male persona? 🤔 Bro you might want to word ur comments better😅
Interesting guy..
Take care
This man is an absolute legend and thank you for your bravery and service. But IMHO he gave too many secrets away.
he gave away no secrets, he would have to ask permission from his bosses to come on, he would have been briefed on what he can and cant say and then this would have been reviewed before it was allowed to be aired - this would have been HEAVILY edited :)
He gave away no operational information, places, names, real names or identities, no real dates just perfectly spoke without giving away details… what secrets did you learn?
11:38 captured? He was killed.
Remember, this is him reading out loud what the envelope they gave him when he left says
not necessarily
Yep, he knows that he is bound by the Official Secrets Act. He’s smart enough to be able to put into words enough to make it sound interesting without getting anywhere near to stepping over the line. There’s no point getting hauled before a court over an interview with Lad Bible.
A full badged member of the Royal Airforce! 😅 deary me!
What does it it mean to be full badged?

As a newbie that wants to invest, you must have these three things in mind
1. Have a long term mindset.
2. Be willing to take risk.
3. Be careful on money usage, if you're not spending to earn back, then stop spending.
4. Never claim to know - Ask questions and it's best you work with a financial advisor.
I'm favoured financially, Thank you Jesus $32,000 weekly profit regardless of how bad it gets on the economy.

This guy is probably the realest mf, he's come tracked down and come face to face with some of the most violent people in the world, absolute badass
I wish the interviewers would stop asking "did you kill anybody?" You could see the look on his face when he heard the question. Maybe he doesn't want to think about it?
My full family were in the armed forces, father REMI, grandfather royal highland fusiliers, mother navy, uncles airforce, I was told from a young age I was going into the armed forces, my grandfather passed away on Xmas eve when I was 16 and I rebelled got into the wrong crowd and ended up going the wrong way in life , I wish I could go back and do it all again I’d do it so different, but such is life I need to live with that mistake now

Granted Saddam was a terrifying man, but when he was executed, Iraq fell under sharia law and is the worst it's ever been. When Saddam was in control, Iraq was a vibrant place and there was order. It's now fallen into chaos.
Well Said.
I know two guys from that country that said things were fine under Sadam.
And they had to leave the country after as it’s a MESS
@@winstoncoolidge1644It's what us British do best, that, drawing lines on maps and separating countries, pillaging gold and oil who said the Empire was dead!😡😡
Saddams sons would have been next in line and they would have not been so 'civil' as saddam.
@@samiecarr1885I'm so glad I'm just that bit older than you, that I wasn't taught to hate myself and my country, like you were.
@@ScottyDnB Oh yeah. If Saddam hadn't been executed and he passed the reign over to Uday (or died and Uday inherited it) Iraq would have fallen into chaos in a very different way, it may not have been sharia law, but I'm thinking Joffrey from game of thrones, and Uday would have actually been more of a geniune threat than ever Saddam was and I know that is a bold statement to make.
This man was a spy for the worlds biggest colonial project, yet has the audacity to label a lesser evil as a devil.
These interviewers should be told (if not immediately obvious already, as a manner of respect), under no circumstances should you be asking how many people a man has killed. You might think it wins column inches, but just have a bit of a regard for what that question really means. To the interviewer, it clearly means Jack shit.
As someone who has lived in 6 countries and worked in 15...there is a major difference between learning a language and learning a language as a local ...so No way in a million years will a local think you are a local....
He never said he was considered a local? Just that it had to be good enough to convey information and concepts accurately (and the other way around too)

Interesting watching these former military members play mental gymnastics to justify their part in a totally illegal war.
This channel knows how long to make a video with 17 mind or similar as if I see a video which is an hour I definitely don't watch it or half hour might not but short 20 min videos I will watch as if I turns out to be uninteresting I'm not investing too much time
