Maddest thing is I did a removal job at that exact building taking out data this January because it’s been turned into flats , that’s actually crazy cause I can see the building as he’s explaining it. Sick guy 🎉

I've often sat at home or at work thinking about other people around the world going about their daily lives and often wondering if at that very moment someone was sat in a rented warehouse planning a heist or the likes. You said about a warehouse heist.. Taking it out of context slightly.. I used to work in a warehouse (I wont name it) but someone was arrested because they were caught stealing pallets on a night shift in a van.. Nobody suspected anything because the person who was in charge of that shift planned it.. They only got arrested because allocated pallets had gone missing (not just moved).. Security at that warehouse was dreadful anyway.. It was one of the workers that raised suspicion!..

This guy would've been a great special forces operator or maybe an intelligence guy. The mental fortitude of maintaining your cool while under that kind of pressure is impressive, not to mention the fact that most normal people would come down with a severe case of spontaneous IBS! 🤣💩

He obviously took the longer sentence on the chin too because he didn’t cut a deal and grass.
This reminds me of another interview on this channel of a lady who broke into places. Her stories are awesome and she makes it clear that humans are always the weakest link in security systems :D

Wow what a story. I grew up in children's homes too and left at 16. Mad how the system works. Inspiring guy 🙌🏻
I was made homeless at 13 and was in and out of care. It's crazy how much it messes you up.
Everyone I was in care with is either in prison, dead, or on the streets still. I'm the only care leaver I've personally met who managed to escape the system and build a life.
The system needs tearing up and rebuilding from the ground tbh.
I hope the family that you will build will give you the love that you missed as a child ❤
It did for me. ☺️ I turned 30 this year so almost half my life ago now. Only feel like I've just made it though if that makes sense. I raised my little ones started a business from my garage. I had no qualifications but this year ended up with my business on TV and now making a living somehow when I thought I was never going to make anything of myself. Happy to see comments from other people doing well after leaving care. 🙌🏻
@@blindmown Glad you're doing well for yourself. That's what it's like for me I don't think I know anyone that hasn't gone down those paths after leaving care. The statistics aren't great. The odds are stacked against you. I honestly don't get how it was even legal to leave a children's home at 16 and live 'independently' and get an education and work 😂 I'm hoping things have changed by now. I just look back and think wow that was wild. 🤣

You can just tell that, if this guy had taken another path in life he probably would've still achieved something impressive. He seems very intelligent and calm under pressure and, even though he as a criminal, he seems to have principles (such as not grassing up his colleagues).

Amazing life story, not just the Verizon, listened to a couple of podcasts with this guy, both Terry & Noel ' razor ' Smith have incredible stories, could listen to them all day long.
I've listened to this story a few times and always been engrossed. You never glorify your past unlike a lot of people. Respect and best wishes for the future 👍

What a fantastic well spoken story.. the fact of the thought and the determination here is crazy. It was classed as impossible, but you made it possible.
Nobody injured, only 2 people caught, nothing recovered. I mean this heist will forever go down in history.
I’m glad I found this story being told by the man himself. Fascinating. I would say beautiful job and well done. As now I’m not longer a criminal myself or interact in criminality I shouldn’t congratulate you on a fine job. But this will forever be classed as the greatest heist in British history.

Mad thing is, pretty much everywhere he mentions about his life - Camden Town where he grew up, Hampstead where he was in care, Kings Cross where the robbery was and
Pentonville where he was in prison are all in about a 2 mile radius of each other. Nice local job 😂

Epic story to be told, he says he made some bad decisions but when youre mentally/physically abused or witness things you shouldnt it can mentally scar you and send you off rails a bit but when youre/have been in that position you dont always think straight! No on was hurt, grassed any one up within the group, nothing recovered, job well done in the groups eyes!

Totally agree. My team was proficient professional and highly motivated , they had years of experience and were able to operate under extreme conditions, men who were able to overcome their darkest fears of fight or flight,

What was the long term plan if you had made it to Thailand? You said you had £30k in a rucksack which you must have spent a fair amount of on renting the house and boat, were you planning to do more jobs once you got out there or just wait and see?
The 30 grand was just walking about money, I had other monies in different accounts that I could access by cards , different names, plus I'd sent money over to my pal to facilitate my lifestyle, I also had a couple of houses I was receiving rents from,
So basically he's been told he's gonna get xamount but he's been ripped off

This was so mind blowing. I can understand why he got involved in criminality being told you are only going into care for a few weeks and it’s all going to be fine ?. But it isn’t so many ramifications down the line .

LADbible, I'd expect Mr. Ellis would have prefered not to have been put in the position to enter his line of work in order to survive. Could you ask more questions about the circumstances that led there? That could really contribute to the discourse and understanding of how society pushes people to take such dangerous risks to live.

Terry is well known around my area (Camden ) Hard fella ,Highly intelligent,Not your average Criminal,has a lot of respect from all firms
The sad part is that despite his lack of nurturing as a child he is clearly very intelligent
very 'honest' take at the end ; went thru loads of things earlier -but doesn't blame society , as has become the norm - or even justify by robbing rich banks .... "just a job"
