Clean car, I’ve got the white linen interior as well on my Marine Blau ‘87. Throw a Momo wheel on & turbo tie rods you’ll appreciate the enhanced steering feel. My speedo doesn’t have the inner ring with the Km indices. I caught the cube with the techno pop....Talking Heads, Pretenders & Stevie Ray Vaughn for this side of the pond. I’ve had my Carrera since ‘99 I’ll never sell her -recent rebuild cost as much as I paid for the car but worth it....better to be driven daily than just on Sundays that’s for the Ladies of Ferrari. Warm it up and drive hard, you can’t hurt them!
This video is spot on - I have had my '87 911 for 30 years now and I will never get rid of it - it is an analog driving experience in today's purely digital world
No substitute. The standard was set 36 years ago… thanks for watching! Appreciated!

You look good with the car my friend...... A true legendary beauty that reflects sublime intelligent engineering and deep appreciation of beautiful aesthetics....
Beautiful video, brought tears to my eyes. I have a completely stock 964 in the garage waiting for the snow to melt and the spring to arrive for more amazing driving. Liked and subscribed!
Weird to think that 200 ish BHP today is pretty average from any 1.6 - 2.0 engines and not even extraordinary, and back 30-40 years ago it was the pinnacle of power. Great video 😊
I have seen that car and it’s delightful. Your comments about more of this and that are bang on. I think that maybe the only recent car from a major manufacturer that fits that less is more ethos is the GR-86. Enough power and nice and simple.
Very interesting you say that, after I said it, I did take a moment to think “is there actually anything out there” and the GR86 was the immediate car that came to mind! Thanks dude :)
I recently bought my first air cooled although I have had a 997 and a Boxster in previous years. As I’ve got older (in my 60’s now) my cars have got older and for last ten years I’ve had a succession of V8 and straight 6 Mercs from the 70’s through to the 90’s. Thought I should get an air cooled before it’s too late…picked it up in May and it’s had quite a life having spent some years in Monaco as part of a wealthy collectors stable but he certainly used it frequently and used to drive it from Monaco to Austria for the skiing and then onto Norway to watch the Northern Lights! The car has clocked up 130k miles but very well maintained with refurbed gearbox, engine, suspension and Tuthill brakes plus a bare shell respray and new interior. Very analog in driving behaviour which I like (I can’t be doing with all that haptic guff) and having had cars with 400bhp I think there’s more fun to be had from wringing the neck of 230bhp in a fairly light car on the U.K. roads these days. Is it a keeper…not sure but it is growing on me every day 😎
Great video. Back in 1994 I bought a champagne 1984 that was very similar to this one - whale tail (which I never cared for), body-colored Fuchs wheels (which I did). It was my daily driver. Even then it was a bit of a step backward technologically, mostly bc of the lack of power steering. But every time I saw it parked in the driveway, or especially took it out for a spin, it brought me so much joy. I recently watched your video on the Tesla Model 3. I have a 2022 M3 LR. I know this comparison will sound sacrilegious but it also brings me joy. It’s an engineering marvel that I actually find fun to drive. Practical, blindingly quick, very precise steering, and like the 911, a little bit stiff. I do miss that Porsche, but I’m excited about the future of cars..
Hi Wensley, thank you for watching both videos. Grateful you took the time 🙏🏻 I really believe both ICE and EV can co exist harmoniously without pledging allegiance to either side haha! they’re just difference and like you I enjoyed both, equally but differently.
Congrats, you are a true Petrol Head. Especially for being spot on describing the analog qualities of a G Pcar from your first drive. Suggest you drive a updated G body with a Wevo shifter, uprated motor with 20/21, LS with exhaust and tune. Electric AC is my next upgrade and yes I own and built a 87 3.4 ST backdate and a 88 3.4 steel turbo body-my true obsession and passion for over 20 years. There are no cars like the 87-89 G50 Pcars.
Lovely content and style of presentation. Captures the emotion rather than the boring statistics that we all know. Also totally agree on the size point re the 992. Interested in your views on the cayman / boxster models, seem to capture a little more or the original porsche essence and usefully smaller.
Hey Jon! Thank you for watching and the great feedback! A lot of effort goes in to make these videos so it’s nice to hear people appreciate and enjoy it! Will definitely bring more non-modern stuff! Merry Xmas! :)
Who can spot the 3 retro nuggets? First one is easy but anyone else spot the others? 👀

Yep! As soon as i am able, i will be buying a analog car 🫡
I have a 3.2 myself that I have enjoyed for 20+ years. I never get tired of her. Great video!
Hey Adrian! Thank you for watching! Piece of art 🤌🏻
You hit the nail on the head, there is no substitute for the sensation a classic car gives you. I continue to enjoy our '96 993 C2 😊

Love that! Amazing to hear thank you 🙏🏻🙏🏻 I’m on Instagram too if you are, I would love to see pictures?
Jealous of your 964! Probably the best styled air-cooled generation
Thanks. A real beauty!
Fantastic car and great video!! Mark has taken great care of this and the colour is simply the best! Well done!
Thank you mate! Appreciated! 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Great video 😊
Thanks dude! We have come a long way! Character beats power now though! 🤓
What a video! Subscribed. Love the car.
Woohoo! Thanks dude :))
A lack of girth becomes an advantage in this case.
Lovely car, lovely vid!
Thanks my friend! A rare case but yes 🤣
😂
What a beautiful video and explanation. Well done.👏🏼
❤️❤️❤️
Old is gold! More retro please ❤
Totally! 🫶🏼
Great video bro, love the story as usual 🎉❤
Thank you Tim! Appreciate the support brother 🙏🏻

Superb man
Thank you my friend 🙏🏻❤️
Well executed video
Thank you! Means a lot! 🫶🏼
Solid review sir
Thank you very much good sir 🫡
Very good review! 👏
Thank you my friend! Appreciated!
I added a Wevo shifter and racing helicopter coupler to my 1982 911SC and it made the 915 gearbox feel like a new car.
same here, but for me a good set-up 915 is as good as the G50's i have driven

Thanking you! I want one so bad! Need UA-cam to take off so I can build by own!
"There are no cars like the 87-89 G50 Pcars" That's laughable. Do you honestly think the 915 cars are so different?
I had my 915 rebuilt, added a Wevo shifter and an LSD, and it drives fantastic
More classic porsche 🎉❤
Nice color combination
I think so too!
great vid
Thank you Andrew!
What color is that on the VIN?
Cassis red 👍🏼
Simple car today your wishing for - Mazda Miata/ Lotus Elise?
Porsche please. Thank you 🙌🏼

Agree. Great content and pleasing on the eye.. Beats me why some people continue to watch the BS Porsche channels!!
@@stanalsopp6407 One guy's channel'ssssssssss !!! immediately comes to mind!!! lol
@@submariner65-mj4cd 10 channel Al, aka odo - man by any chance. The S count gave it away 😉
@@stanalsopp6407 👍 UA-cam video >>"DiagnosticWorldz - Digi Prog 3".......... that's 1 of the 10
Datsun 240 Z will do exactly the same for far less money
How much for a Datsun Z in the UK today and how much did Mark pay for this…? Go…!
And it's just a Datsun. Nothing compares to a Porsche.
RHD. No value.
Yea totally, I’m surprised Mark hasn’t scrapped it.
