In my country (Croatia) it is used primarily for cancer patients and in hospital settings..And always in patients that already have a great tolerance to other opioids. It is newer prescribed but rather given in a hospital or when a patient leaves to hospital.
I was given Fentonyl when I had a colonoscopy and din't feel any different mentally. I wouldn't say the procedure hurt badly but I certainly knew something was happening to my insides! I ended up breathing over the twingy bits. Was supposed to be supervised for 24 hours but told everybody to go home as I had things to do, places to go, people to annoy!

Fentanyl patches from experience is safer than opioid pills if ur doctor recommends it than u shouldn’t be scared it will help you more than other pain meds trust me
Can't believe you don't have a video on cocaine. Probably the number one thing fentanyl is mixed with in my area, where lots of people have been dying from accidental overdose
I SWEAR THAT I THOUGHT 💭🤔 THE SAME THING.. I LEFT 2 LONG COMMENTS, GO READ THEM.. THEY ARE SOOO TRUE MY FRIEND, TELL ME WHAT U THINK IN THE REPLY SECTION.
Unfortunately due to the nature of the procedure, they would not be able to give you fentanyl or even morphine, as that would require intubation and therefore block the area that would have to be accessed. Although Ketamine could be an option, unfortunately ketamine can make some people act out in strange ways, which would also not be helpful.
@@surkey5055 I know that "they" wouldn't give me anything for my pain since pain meds have potential side-effects. And I would've believed that it was for my good if I hadn't known that everything has potential side-effects but it's just the pain meds that's being kept away.
Lads, never mess with this opioid... it's not a phenantrene, like morphine or oxycodone or diacetylmorphine! Plus, it's very short - lasting, having a short half-life!
Thanks Doc. I think an update to this video is warranted. A lot has changed in 5 years as Fentanyl has taken over, killing far more on the street than 30/day. It goes well beyond east coast, it’s everywhere.
It is recommended for people with severe cancer pain heart failure symptoms like breathlessness and chest pains especially with people who are opioid tolerant
I can listen to this guy talk all day lol
i wish he was my proffessor

Me too. Lol he's awesome 😄

One of the best dr amazing and very easy to understand
I expected there to be WAY more then 2 comments on a video about fentanyl.
Fentanyl is invaluable when used properly, medically. Hospitals would be in shambles without fentanyl.

Rest in Peace. Dr Robert Kenneth Landow. Passed away on 3-11-22 at age 73.

Actually, they did give me fentanyl post-op. It was only one dose inside of the PACU before they switched to morphine.

this is for medical use only. not for junkies. sorry folks
This was great info, doctor, but I also heard, if someone is using the fentanyl patch as the medicine delivery system, they should not go into an MRI.
This video is excellent!!!!!!
I had a tonsilectomy when I was 19 and I tell you, i wish i had fentanyl. It was the most excruciating thing ive ever been through bar my knee injury.

@@surkey5055 in nz we use cocaine for some ENT surgery
I've had it when I had a pacemaker/defibrillator put in. Fortunately I don't enjoy opiates.
Great medicine in the hands of a capable anesthesiologist
But otherwise good?

Fentanyl is quick in quick out due to its lypophilic properties, so you are absolutely right!
Fentanyl is The better pain medication because its lipid soluble way better for severe pains
Yes! And it binds to the opioid receptors differently than those mentioned. In my experience zero euphoric reaction. Not pleasant in any way.

🎉 hell yeah smoke crack 🎉
So basically Noone should ever take this. Lol!!
People should be taking it, but in a medical setting for the correct purposes(mostly as a component of anesthetics)

Yes there are very real dangers of this drug, however he NEVER mentions the benefits of it at all
Just don't even try it.
Puts me to sleep . Better then Citalopram 😉
