We just bought one and absolutely love it! Comfortable and very capable. It does not ride or handle like previous generation Jeeps. Our Sahara has the power sliding top option that is really nice.
I love these new JL's and I am a TJ owner. Biggest problems I have are fighting the electronics and electronic modes, they seem redundant at best when I have driven them. I've tried the Sports, Sahara's and Rubicons and have even tried the 2.0 turbo which blew my expectations out of the water. The 2.0 has plenty of low end grunt and feels more responsive than the 3.6 VVT. These JL's are awesome, the 8speed automatic and electronics not so much

@@darkpill My roof has seen quite a few raining days including now and it isn't leaking. 2019, they did a few tweaks to the roof seals. However, anytime you have a vehicle that has 3 pieces of it's roof including the entire back of the roof and top that is removable AND removed on and off, you're going to have accept the possibility of leaks. Nothing you can do about that no matter how well engineered it is. Consumer Reports, the only publication that actually does a reliability rating based upon actual subscribers data from an 11 page questioner, does not show a high propensity of leaking from the respondents of the survey. Quite the contrary, it rates above or much better then average for leaks and body integrity, and that was for 2018. So yes, there are people with the leak problem , and steering problem, but it's very much the minority of people not the majority. Im sorry you're not having good luck with your new Jeep. God Bless.
ggolds5 2019 JL have a leaky roof problem. Don’t know what else to tell you. I don’t own a Jeep personally, since I tend not to buy vehicles with a 1 star frontal crash rating.
Yup. Seems that given the sales volume, most shoppers of this vehicle aren't buying it for the safety scores. Safety scores are one of hundreds of reasons why you might choose the vehicle you do, after all.
Just get it in his/her favorite color and tell him/her you did it to make her/him happy. She/he can only yell and scream for about an hour, I tested this hypothesis and usually after that point they eventually calm down as ask for a ride. Then some more yelling. No dinner. Possibly sex in the morning because she/he is turned on by your defiance, but no breakfast. By dinner; Might be simpler meal then usual, or a little over cooked, but by night, she's /he is back to normal. Then plan a nice weekend trip in it, perhaps to his/her favorite type of place, like a shoe store, or antique shop, or romantic movie, or ballet. You get the point. You'll be all good within 4-6 days. I promise.
i love the sahara simply because there is now an all wheel drive select track. which means if you run into random slippery spots you are prepared. other versions you cant use 4wd all the time or you ruin the transmission, which means you run into trouble on random slippery spots
Do you need a technician to remove and refit the doors? I mean, there must be cables and wires to disconnect and reconnect that run to the power windows and mirror adjust and other bits - even the locking.
@@JustinPritchard Sorry Justin, I was being petty. Some AWD systems only provide power to one wheel at a time, whereas a 4X4 in the High range, will apply power to both the front and rear axles of the Jeep Wrangler and older Jeep 4X4's. Once again, I am sorry to nit pick the issue.
As the owner of a 2012 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited JK model, I wish to differ with your complaint regarding the sticker price of $57,000 for the new JL Wrangler Sahara Unlimited. Many factors are involved in a manufacturer's pricing of a vehicle. One such factor is the vehicle's popularity. Another relates to making the vehicle comply with all existing (and often even proposed) federal and state emissions and safety standards. Still another are potential legal actions due to a vehicle rolling over, injuries to occupants in a collision, defects in manufacturing, etc. All these and many other factors help determine the retail price of a motor vehicle. My JK Wrangler Rubicon was a factory order that I had placed. It took 9 or 10 weeks after I submitted the order to the time the vehicle arrived at the dealership in Provo, Utah. Before my Rubicon left the dealership, I had an additional $12,000 plus worth of dealer installed accessories added to my Jeep. The only discount I received on my Wrangler was the $750.00 the dealership gave me as a "military" (actually veteran's) discount. I've never yet complained about what I paid for my 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon. I'm delighted to have this vehicle. Before ordering my Rubicon I researched the market. I knew exactly what I wanted the car to do and what I wanted on the vehicle. I could not be any happier than I am with my Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon! Steering is better? Every shot of you driving has you sawing on the wheel. I’ve read of many new JL owners encountering steering and handling problems including loose and wandering on the highway and FCA hasn’t come up with a fix. Something doesn’t add up here.
I experienced no looseness or wandering beyond what's expected of this type of speciality vehicle. I also experienced steering that feels better than the previous Jeep Wrangler, so I reported such. Not sure on sawing at the wheel, not sure exactly where you perceived this but I didn't from behind the wheel. That's keeping in mind that this sort of vehicle does not have an extremely precise steering feel. Finally, owner reports of wandering and looseness are often a problem with the driver, not the vehicle.
Picked up my 19 JL Unlimited last week. ( now about 3-4 weeks. ), Steering is perfect handling great. It's not a Kia Sorento or Range Rover, but rides acceptably, a little jiggly, and some wind noises. Overall very nice. UPDATE: 1200 miles now. Still drives perfectly. The steering drives straight and no wander or drift. Since replacing very comfortable and good handling vehicles like the Sorento and the Range Rover I feel as though this is a reasonable replacement. Not as rough riding, or noisy, or handling issues as I was worried would be the case as this is my daily driver. It's really easy to live with. I had 4 Wranglers when I was in my 20's and I actually remember them as being pretty comfortable back then but I also hadn't experienced owning very cushy luxury vehicles that I owned since. This was not a step down at all. Expect a little bit more jounce and some additional but not excessive wind noise, as other journals have described as excessive. It's really not that bad in normal highway driving in reasonably descent weather. I love this thing, I just hope it's reliable until my lease end in 36 months. PS, I love the Majito and the speed sensing cruise control and the security of having auto emergency braking.
I have had an 18 JLSU for 10 months, around 21K miles at this time. Shortly after taking delivery notice a little drift on hog back highways. Dealer flashed the steering, all good. Most systems on the JL are computer controlled, dealer just hooks it up and sets specs to factory or updates it. Love mine.
ggolds5 , only frustrating thing I have experienced, the backup camera stops working. Make appointment with dealer and before getting there it starts again. One time, an appointment and the problem will coincide. 😂
I hope they would take those steps forward into more reliability and then many people wouldnt walk away on it. Me, myself, my heart says yes but my guts says no

Nice review! Great looking Jeep. 57$k is in Canadian dollars not US.
Just sold my soul for one picking it up tomorrow excited as fuck

Winter tires will make a huge difference in the snow, all season tires are summer tires, get off the plowed highway and see how it does in deep snow

Its NOT an All Wheel Drive! Its a 4 Wheel Drive. Very different.
Yes, I switched 4x4 AUTO to mean AWD in that specific context to make a point.
