Hello! This one was a challenge to film. It started raining/sleeting while I was filming so I had to finish it up under a bridge. Anyway, I really like the Wrangler, I'm just not sure I'd want it as a daily driver...unless I lived in the middle of the woods somewhere and needed some serious 4x4 action to get to my house.
I recently started to really have an eye for these things.... It kinda came outta nowhere lol. Was thinking of buying this exact model with a hard top with same colour as the rest of the jeep. Would be my daily driver. I just have begun to love the way they look and seem like a fun vehicle. I'd off road for sure if I had the chance but It would mostly be street driven. I like cars/trucks more for how they look than what they can do. But that's just me. I guess it isn't all that practical unless I was 4x4 my way to work
I just rent on last week 2020 keep Wrangler drove about 1600 miles it was nice ride but at the end it broke down on the highway the alternator fail with the e torque motor has a turbo 4 cylinders. Other people have same problem too. Better off v6 penstar motor
I have a Rubicon, but I asked the dealer to install Sierra sidesteps on it. The puzzled look on his face made me replay in my mind what I had just said. I chuckled a little when I heard you make the same easy mistake.
Yeah, I think I explained the 4x4 controls poorly. Sorry about that. If I get another Wrangler I'll try and film a better explanation. And thanks for pointing this out. It really does help me improve. Cheers!
I rented one of these for 2 days too, cause they ran out of their cheap cars and I had a reservation, aside from the wind noise and floppy steering this thing is soo much fun; I never cared for Jeeps before but now I want one lol
Great review as always ! Had one in LAX for 2 weeks. I was able to take off the roof and the doors, and it felt amazing to drive it that way ! Great car. Plastics feel a bit cheap but hey, it’s a Wrangler.

that's what I said! he says certain cars are slow when he's barely got his big toe on the gas pedal. you have to basically FLOOR a new car to get these many gear transmissions and eco tuned ECM's to wake up from their slumber. the 3.6 is a monster for what it is!
I was reading in JK mag. that the Wrangler JL is one of the cars that people are getting the most speeding tickets. I know it's faster then my 2009 JK was.

So I had one this past weekend, same specs but with the 2.0L Turbo I4 instead of the 3.6L V6 (surprised Enterprise ordered it that way)... was Black on Black as well... we took the roof panels out of ours and it was super super dun to drive... I enjoyed driving it!!! :)
Oh gheeze! 4x. Sahara: It has Select Trac. Auto Full time AWD as needed. No shifting required. I rented one of these in Denver. You would be amazed at what they are capable off off road. I enjoyed your review👍 (I know its i possible to know everything about every vehicle) You did a nice job here!👍👍😎😎
I thought you could engage 4H without putting the gear on neutral!! Or at least that is how it is in my FJ cruiser. You can be driving really slow with your steering wheel straight and just engage 4H. Now if you want to engage 4L then you would have to stop car, put it on neutral, engage the 4L, put the gear back to D and then drive.
I know....now. I felt like such an idiot when I stalled the car out. Thankfully people were pretty nice and they gave me time to coast off to the side of the road. Lesson learned!
100 Rental Cars I didn’t try to rudely correct you...like some people on here, so I threw in a :)...I never like it when people are unkind in the comments
I keep looking at these Jeep reviews just to see if Jeep is listening to their customers. I own an FJ Cruiser and its nice to see the differences. I'm surprised that "hood flutter" is still a problem with Jeep because you can get rid of it with a 3rd party latch. But why hasn't Jeep improved it? I'll keep my FJ Cruiser forever. 6 cylinder 260hp comfortable seating for 5, nicer looking, better and more solid roof rack, 4x4 more than capable, pulling capacity of 5,000 lbs, a rock out stereo with some serious volume, bluetooth audio as well as phone, rear view camera, audible reverse sensor, ride is solid & luxurious and after 4-1/2 years an engine that will break in around 200,000 miles. Now we're looking at getting a 2019 RAV4 to sit side by side with the FJ and that is exciting.
JL 2019 is a great vehicle. One can’t expect it to be a sedan its mall crawler or rock crawler our beach crawler or my Sunday Funday Car top down =Jeep is all about fun go anywhere. Sahara you have listed for $41K that’s cheap IMO.
You aren't missing anything, the Wranglers have and always will be one of the most boring vehicles out there with very terrible highway manners, they're built to be an offroad vehicle...think side by side ATV.
Looks like Enterprise is upgrading the trim level they order for 2018 (used to be the Sport S, and now it's the Sahara). I reserved one for a trip to Indianapolis I'm taking this summer. Can't wait to drive one! I work for a Jeep and Chevy dealer and my boss is driving a Wrangler Unlimited right now. He is driving a lifted Sport S model, which is the second trim up from the base Sport. :)
You can go into 4-high while the vehicle's transmission is in drive and rolling. When you want 4-low, you always have to have the transmission is neutral. Rolling just slightly, helps the gears shift into 4-low. You never want to force it! And never use 4 wheel drive on dry pavement; it's bad for the transfer case and tires.
You are still wrong about shifting into 4 high. You can shift into 4 high while driving up to 55 MPH. To shift into 4 Low, you need to slow down to about 2 to 3 mph, shift the vehicle into neutral, then shift the 4wd lever past neutral into 4L and then put the vehicle in drive and try not to drive more than 10 mph in 4L.
Nice car. Been kind of interested to buy something like this. The only thing I am worried about is the sound inside when you are driving it. Did you find it really annoying? Especially when you have to drive for hours?
They are loud, they have terrible highway manners, and they're not economical. The Wrangler has always been built as an offroad toy, its not a daily driver highway vehicle at all.
Glad I bought a 2018 JK. That auto engine on/off would be a giant pain in the ass off-reading. I would be looking for a relay to pull out and throw away! Also I think you mistook road noise for “wind blowing around” as the roof is not insulated. It’s a Jeep , not a Town Car. People who expect a vehicle to have a bidet and an electric toothbrush should not drive a Jeep!
Good review, considering the weather conditions. The Wrangler is extremely rare on UK roads, so was unaware until mentioned on the Grand Tour Columbia special it's popularity with the LBGT community.
My local fire department loves and hates this car they love it because when it gets into an accident like a rollover it’s easy to get the person inside out I’ve seen these rollover where they have no doors and the ema crews only had to cut the seatbelt and they hate this car because of its rollover risk
Like most 4-wheel drive vehicles with a high center of gravity, they are made for going across muddy/ snowy fields and dirt roads. They aren't meant for speed ways. Especially if they get T-boned, they are going over like a big fat turtle.
Its only a rollover risk because of moron drivers. They are actually quite stable if you know how to drive and don't put a damn lift kit on them and take off the stabilizer bars that were put on it to help prevent a rollover in the first place.
13:57 is there separate panels you can remove from the hardtop in the back like you can with the front with out having to take the entire hard top off?
If you get the 3 piece hard-top yes. You can take the 2 front panels off over the front seats and leave the rest of the top on, looks pretty stupid though.
While I was in Orlando over Christmas I had the opportunity to rent a brand new 2019 Wrangler Unlimited Sport from Avis at MCO. It was awesome being able to rent a Wrangler with only 10 miles on it over Christmas while enjoying the sun in Orlando.
100 Rental Cars Yeah I had free rental days coming with Avis so I booked a full size and they at first gave me a Dodge Charger R/T but it was dirty and older so I went to ask to see what else they had. I had just returned a brand new 2019 Fusion so I was hoping for another brand new car. Being the holidays they were pretty tight on inventory but they were able to find me 4 Brand new cars that were not yet in their inventory. I had a choice of either a 2019 Pathfinder SV, a 2019 Grandcaravan GT, 2019 Compass Limited or a 2019 Wrangler 4 door Sport model with some options. I opted for the Wrangler as it is a very rare rental car. I did enjoy it for the 3 days. It wasn’t as bad as I expected it but the road and wind nose was bad. Overall it’s fun and powerful to drive but I wouldn’t buy one.
@@100RentalCars Its not a daily driver highway cruiser, its made for offroading...they suck on the highway for road manners, their shot narrow wheelbase causes them to wander all over the highway and be tossed around by passing vehicles larger than the Wrangler....avoid them unless you do most of your driving in really nasty offroad conditions...there are many other much better highway mannered vehicles out there that are much more comfortable.
The vehicle has an options screen. Therefore is no need to use the key to open the tailgate. This video is a year old, so nobody will see my comment :(
It has the engine auto off and on design flaw. I returned my test drive after less than a kilometer of driving. I know I can push the button that bypasses the engine off and on design flaw. But I am not going to pay for something I hate and that will reduce the engine life of the vehicle.
@@diegogonzalez9086 The damn engine shuts off everytime you come to a stop...its a terrible idea and one of another 1000+ problems the vehicle will have within its very short lifespan.
I would expect someone that reviews the product would know it's features well enough to discuss them and correctly describe their functions. There's too many gaffs in this review. As well, when reviewing a Wrangler, the reviewer should know that these vehicles aren't luxury vehicles. They won't equate to any sedan...they're essentially trucks and should be treated as such. Gotta compare apples to apples.
This isn't a Jeep CJ. Tippy on corners???. Not at all. Very stable, All reviews rated the JL as very stable and it has been stable since it became the Wrangler in 1987. Now with all the handling control, stability control, anti-lock brakes, low and high speed automated collision braking, etc. etc. I had a 2012 Corvette Grand Sport and this has very peppy strong acceleration. I stopped watching at 2:33. This review is already inaccurate and annoying.
No reflection on the reviewer, but he told us what he did with the shifter. That's what you get when there are multiple drivers for a vehicle no one owns. They don't read the manual!
Very true. I get so few 4x4s that I often....mess things up when I try to use them properly. I'm working on it though! Hopefully I'll get a little better at this...eventually. 👍
save your money. from one jeep owner to the next, don't buy. sand left in the motors from the factory, coolant heater core problems, cracked heads, cracked blocks, if your lucky warranty will cover it al, at 99,500km im getting an entire motor swap, then trade it and running from the Big 3 who got bailouts just to shaft the consumer with junk. leaks from the soft and hard tops, feeling ripped off. i traded a mazdaspeed with zero issues at 100,000km and what a mistake that was, going back to an import....that gets made here in Canada/usa, lol.
That’s not how you put it in a four-wheel-drive. You can be at a stop, put it in neutral and then put it in gear. You don’t put it in gear when you’re moving you know nothing about four-wheel-drive.
Don't bitch about fuel prices...We are over $3/gal here in southern Idaho where I'm at...Commifornia is most likely over $4/gal....so at $2.15/gal shut the hell up about gas prices LOL...don't give 'em anymore ideas or excuses to raise fuel prices. Not a Wrangler fan anyways, they don't handle worth shit on the highway, and they're full of gimmick features which is the only reason they're still around in the form they are...won't be much longer and the Wrangler will be yet another hatchback AWD sedan.
this is faster than half of the cars you've reviewed.. you have to put your foot into the thing before you can complain about the power it "doesn't have" .. 0-60 for the 3.6/8 speed are high 6's low 7's in non rubicon trim. Leave out your assessment of the vehicles power if you're not actually going to test it. Same with the video on the new Malibu.. the tach barely swings over 3k as you get onto the highway and you say it's slow. Manufacturers tune cars these days for fuel economy. to feel the power and override the efficiency algorithm, the pedal has to get close to the carpet. would appreciate more accurate acceleration on video if you're going to be judging acceleration.
I appreciate the criticism. I'll try pushing my next few rentals harder when testing the acceleration. And I'll try to be better at explaining when I say a vehicle is slower than I expected. Cheers!
Don't buy the 2019 Jeep Wrangler: One star on safety. Independently verified by ANCAP and Euro NCAP. ANCAP released the rating a little over a week ago, on 28 May this year, following the 2019 Wrangler's Australian release in April. In the frontal offset test, the connection between the A-pillar and the trans-facia beam was damaged in a way that indicated the structure would be unable to withstand higher loads. Similarly, deformation of the footwell showed that the structure had reached the limit of its integrity These agencies are pretty good at independent crash testing. The fact that this Wrangler is even allowed on sale today, in advanced western countries, points to a profound regulatory failure at the highest level.
Thanks, I’m 15 and saving up for a car and it’s helpful to hear you mention safety which is something I’m going to need highly in a car getting on the road for the first time.
I like the looks of the Wrangler, Charger, and Challenger. For me, the only drawback is FIAT: Fix It Again Tony. We own a Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk and I kid you not--you reset the oil life gauge by stepping on the gas pedal. It's the most retarded thing that I have ever seen on a vehicle outside of the auto "start/stop."

@JohnMcclane You should look at a Subaru or a Toyota Rav. They both are pretty reliable. A mechanic on YT just did a video panning the Renegade big time.
For this being a Sahara model it seems to be a lower end Sahara. Sorry, but this is not a proper review, no better than what you would get from the person handing you keys at the pick up counter. You should really know what you are driving BEFORE you proceed with your review.

@@diegogonzalez9086 The damn engine shuts off everytime you come to a stop...its a terrible idea and one of another 1000+ problems the vehicle will have within its very short lifespan.
Very good
I would expect someone that reviews the product would know it's features well enough to discuss them and correctly describe their functions. There's too many gaffs in this review. As well, when reviewing a Wrangler, the reviewer should know that these vehicles aren't luxury vehicles. They won't equate to any sedan...they're essentially trucks and should be treated as such. Gotta compare apples to apples.
Ron S why don't just appreciate his effort !! I believe it a free review that you paid nothing to watch :)
Extreme volume level to you 15 to any teen 40
If you like most people that live from payday to paycheck..and plan on keeping this vehicle a while...Ot turns into a big Money Pit...🤯
I hear that those roof panels are prone to leaking. That's a turn off for me.
47 $ fill up is now 120$ on March of 2022.
You called it a "Sierra" it's a Sahara. (At the beginning of the vid.)
I just wish wranglers were a bit more affordable. I’ve always wanted a 2 door and soft top but could never afford it :(
Buy an older used one with the 4L I6 engine. Much better built and far less shit to go wrong.
👍💖
This isn't a Jeep CJ. Tippy on corners???. Not at all. Very stable, All reviews rated the JL as very stable and it has been stable since it became the Wrangler in 1987. Now with all the handling control, stability control, anti-lock brakes, low and high speed automated collision braking, etc. etc. I had a 2012 Corvette Grand Sport and this has very peppy strong acceleration. I stopped watching at 2:33. This review is already inaccurate and annoying.
9:31 2019 Wrangler with a broken armrest bottom !?!
No reflection on the reviewer, but he told us what he did with the shifter. That's what you get when there are multiple drivers for a vehicle no one owns. They don't read the manual!
Agreed!
Not sure you have entirely grasped operating the 4x4 ratios. Jeep must be having a laugh!
Very true. I get so few 4x4s that I often....mess things up when I try to use them properly. I'm working on it though! Hopefully I'll get a little better at this...eventually. 👍
Gonna tip over while making tight turns eh..
Ha. :)
Needs an inline turbo 6 and about 335 hp.It’s a heavy vehicle to push around.
Amen!
save your money. from one jeep owner to the next, don't buy. sand left in the motors from the factory, coolant heater core problems, cracked heads, cracked blocks, if your lucky warranty will cover it al, at 99,500km im getting an entire motor swap, then trade it and running from the Big 3 who got bailouts just to shaft the consumer with junk. leaks from the soft and hard tops, feeling ripped off. i traded a mazdaspeed with zero issues at 100,000km and what a mistake that was, going back to an import....that gets made here in Canada/usa, lol.
Hey what about a rubicon
Cheers!

Thanks Jake! And don't hold back. I really do appreciate the feedback.
Thanks for this.
Thanks, I’m 15 and saving up for a car and it’s helpful to hear you mention safety which is something I’m going to need highly in a car getting on the road for the first time.
Saving up already?!? Well done. And good luck!
Jeep and Fiat are tied at the top of my list for cars I would never buy.
Just curious, if you are not interested, why are you watching?
@@ursus353 This guy does a very good job with car reviews, so I watch his videos. I even watch his reviews of cars like Jeeps.
no need for a tie.. they're the same company. ;)
I like some aspects of this truck but it’s a total junker
chocolatewheelchair no it’s not
Dale Gribble dude dale it is. Worst crash test results possible and the construction of the armrest kinda says it all. And it’s over priced.
Leonard Ferguson well, that’ll add a lot of weight reducing fuel economy.
Does a Jeep review... doesn't know how to use 4x4. Yea I'm going to take this opinion seriously.
Not worth $42k
Why I heard the renegade jeep are not reliable they break down easy
@@AlejandroP1980s This is not a Renegade.
@@ursus353 I know I'm asking because I can't do big cars or trucks but I can do is santa Fe SUV and my Santa Fe broke down I'm trying to decide what to get next

Over priced over priced
