Matt, ''hemi'' is the shape of the combustion chamber, it uses flat top pistons like almost all car engines as it was found many years ago that domed pistons were prone to cause knock.
The new Hemi isn't a hemi. The combustion chambers aren't dome shaped and the valve placement also aren't placed as in a true Hemi design. Chrysler owns the name " Hemi " and named this new wedge design a hemi. And a doamed piston in any combustion chamber style will raise the combustion ratio which will cause detonation.
That X7 is a heck lot of car for the price you pay. It is an all-rounder. It wins the drag race, wins the rolling race and even stops at the least distance. On top of that it is practical, and fast as hell. It keeps gaining and gaining as compared to the Merc. And the best part is that it has got launch control.
How ignorant can a person be....nobody cares about the ugly car on the right side of the airfield cause evrybody clicked on the Video to see high powered off roaders not some ugly BMW with less off road capability than my C Class.

The difference in drag co-efficiency plays just a small part in separating the acceleration rates between the X7 M50i and the AMG G-wagon, unless the speed is way above 100 km/h - the 47 hp (and 100 Nm) power difference between the two should even out the effect of difference in air resistance quite handily up to near 130 km/h (an estimate). Both of the previously mentioned cars have quite a big (and ~comparable) projected frontal area. The difference might be a result of how honest each manufacturer is in their stated power figures and in the differences in powertrain (+ suspension and launch control in a race from standstill)

Yep. There's the dilemma with the 392. It hits its speed limiter so fast you hardly have time to take it all in. I'm sure there's programmers that can remove that limit, but it's there for good reason. 135MPH in a Jeep would be near suicidal. It's much better suited to gravedigging and zigzagging in sand and dirt.

Yeah the jeep is doing pretty impressive being a N/A and other cars being boosted, i think it did a lot better. Would have been cooler if they put trx in there because it has a boosted v8 too and to even out the power it is heavier so it would have made sense.
@@theotherchannel2028 the high ground clearance on the bmw is much lower which is better for aero purposes and the bmw is much much more curvy while the g wagon is just a bunch of straight lines, again for aero purposes. But the bmw is still good in performance stats though.
The 392 wrangler has a break in period so power is limited till I think 500 or 1k miles. Also a little known secret is that you can engage off road plus mode and it'll fully open the potential of the engine. It's not bad for being the only naturally aspirated engine on the line with front and rear solid axle.
The jeep is the only one equipped for off road, the other 2 has the capability but they obviously have big rims on street tires. The jeep is limited to 99 mph because its dangerous above that speed for the body structure of it.
The jeep looked like it was set up to be a rock crawler with lifted suspension and off road tires and it still kept up with the rest which are tuned for the street with low profiles tires and stiff suspension.
Why is this guy shifting the Wrangler in manual mode? Stupid to do so. Leave it in auto and let it rip through the gears....never never NEVER shift this thing manually.

yes at first the you would se the problems cooming, and the x5 m does not have locking diff , the g has 3 locking diffs , those are critical in difficult offroad situations
@@sokolmiftari3887 X5 M has an electronic diff that locks on its own when DSC is turned off or automatically depending on slippage, there’s an X5 (non-M) that do come with a even more complex locking diff, 10.5 inches of clearance which is more than the 9.5 of the G wagon, under armor, more complex transfer case, water depth detection system, hill descent and optional off-road tires for the first time at dealers.

I had my money on the X7 from the beginning and it won. Gwagon had bigger numbers but I knew it would lose to the BMW because of wind resistance from its box shape.

Everyone lies about power numbers. Especially high end manufacturers and the japanese. Like how honda claims the new civic SI makes 200hp and ive seen one dyno 229.....to the hubs.
These cars are not in the same league with X7 because of how it was built ... xDrive and launch control including tires. I think they can beat X7 on the offroad.
@Lloyd Bonafide I don't think they do... Suspension and transmission in BMW cars are adaptive and engineers at BMW are very good at what they do. Look at M140... It shares B58 engine with Toyota Supra gr but m140 is faster than supra gr because of the difference are suspension and transmission. Most cars can't be tuned up to stage 3 without giving problem BMW can with their cars because of the combination of the 3... Great engines, great suspension and gear box. With previous generation m3 f80 they couldn't beat c63s AMG because m3 f80 was only rear wheel with N55 engine which is really old and with G80 they updated engine( S58), transmission and suspension (rear and xDrive) so they're not at steroids.... Same as Porsche... They are very good at what they do with their cars
BMW all the way. I have never driven anything with such handle and power stock wise. When I decided to sell my 3 series to get an X3 my wife was annoying me so badly not to sell it. She was so spoiled by the 3 series handling.

I looked at a BMW X3M and A Porsche Macan GTS as my next daily and the X3M was complete trash. The suspension was so stiff felt like it was on coil overs, the Macan's handling felt like it a sports car and the steering feel was so natural compared to the BMW's that lacked any feel, the Macan was just as fast if not faster with 50 less HP, and finally the Macan's exhaust sounded so much better.
Right now I drive a Glc coupe 2020, and I still have the nostalgia from my BMWs , used to have an X5 2019 for 2 years until I got the glc, 2015 X5 for 4 Years and 2012 X5 for 3 years, 2008 X6 for 4 years and I can say it with chest, no one makes better SUVs than BMW
FYI, Matt, pretty sure the HEMI pistons are the same as any other pistons. The combustion chambers are hemispherical top rather than the normal flat one.
I think all common engines have flat top pistons with valve releaves, the hemi being hemispherical combustion chamber normally has a dome on the piston for a better combustion and improved compression ratio, which the others are trying to avoid being turbocharged lower static compression is desirable for less chance of detonation with poor quality gas. HEMIs also normally have 2 spark plugs per cylinder.
Standard Wrangler 392 has a speed limiter at 99mph due to off-road tires. You can also get the 392 XR that is limited to 112mph and makes 1/4 mile in 13s flat on 35 inch BFG KO2 tires. Take them off-road and see what happens. Assuming the X7 can make it to the trailhead at all lol.
Wrangler 392 ain’t worth, people call the G wagon overpriced but that’s what you pay for when you want a body on frame performance suv with a v8. You could get a older G class for the same price as that wrangler with better specs and interior quality. Not to mention even if Mercedes is considered unreliable, jeep is known for being much much more unreliable

That Jeep could go rock crawling down hard trails exactly as is while those other "SUVs" would bust the sidewall to their street tires just thinking about it. Not to mention having half the suspension articulation.
@@MitchellMcjohnson It's been shown numerous times that a G Class rivals a Wrangler off road when both are on equal tires. Theres a reason its twice as much. It has the same offload performance, better on road performance, and interior quality is ages ahead.

“Proper off-roaders” - how many of these will be seeing anything more challenging than a muddy field or a snowy car park? Quite a few will never leave the road at all. Been thinking about an X7 for a while and more keen than ever.
Infact new X7 have offroad package makes it on par with Range Rover, alot of guys thinks BMW still have old Xdrive only, but since G platform they made proper offroading systems into their X7/X5
Buy an x7 I have put mine on 20 inch wheels with off-road tires and it is on par with range rovers when I go shooting. People don’t realise it’s all about the tires, diffs don’t matter if you have the wrong tires.
The only surprise is that the BMW didn't make a bigger gap. G Wagon is a damn box, no matter what engine it packs, it is absolutely not made for drag racing, so it's impressive it did that well.

To say the X7 is not a serious off-road vehicle is incorrect. Take one out one day and see what it can do. I guarantee it can do anything 95% of people who could swing the cost of one of these vehicles could need. I have taken the X3 and X5 through off-road courses, and they are very impressive.
Just typing in from the American desert here...where people really and truly go "jeeping" with Jeeps...the difference between the X7 and the Jeep off-road is much MUCH greater than their differences on-road...you'd just aw well have an M5 as that X7 on a real Jeep trail...

I know a bunch of people who have spent a ton of money putting accessories on their Jeeps, and we live in Florida, where the highest point is barely 200 feet above sea level. But most people would never come close to the limits of an X in their life, and having ridden in many Jeeps, I'll take the comfort of my X5 over any Jeep, any day.

I was just surprised how that G-Wagon and the X7 were really well matched~ But yeah the G-Wagon has that aero going against it.
The difference in drag co-efficiency plays just a small part in separating the acceleration rates between the X7 M50i and the AMG G-wagon, unless the speed is way above 100 km/h - the 47 hp (and 100 Nm) power difference between the two should even out the effect of difference in air resistance quite handily up to near 130 km/h (an estimate). Both of the previously mentioned cars have quite a big (and ~comparable) projected frontal area.
The difference might be a result of how honest each manufacturer is in their stated power figures and in the differences in powertrain (+ suspension and launch control in a race from standstill)

Yep. There's the dilemma with the 392. It hits its speed limiter so fast you hardly have time to take it all in. I'm sure there's programmers that can remove that limit, but it's there for good reason. 135MPH in a Jeep would be near suicidal. It's much better suited to gravedigging and zigzagging in sand and dirt.

Yeah the jeep is doing pretty impressive being a N/A and other cars being boosted, i think it did a lot better. Would have been cooler if they put trx in there because it has a boosted v8 too and to even out the power it is heavier so it would have made sense.

BMW ×7 is underrated
The 392 wrangler has a break in period so power is limited till I think 500 or 1k miles. Also a little known secret is that you can engage off road plus mode and it'll fully open the potential of the engine. It's not bad for being the only naturally aspirated engine on the line with front and rear solid axle.
They limited the speed for the tires. The tires are only rated for so many mph. They're mud terrain tires.

The jeep is the only one equipped for off road, the other 2 has the capability but they obviously have big rims on street tires. The jeep is limited to 99 mph because its dangerous above that speed for the body structure of it.
It's also the only car with solid axles and na engine which definitely hurts it in this race lol.

These cars are not in the same league with X7 because of how it was built ... xDrive and launch control including tires. I think they can beat X7 on the offroad.
@Lloyd Bonafide I don't think they do... Suspension and transmission in BMW cars are adaptive and engineers at BMW are very good at what they do. Look at M140... It shares B58 engine with Toyota Supra gr but m140 is faster than supra gr because of the difference are suspension and transmission. Most cars can't be tuned up to stage 3 without giving problem BMW can with their cars because of the combination of the 3... Great engines, great suspension and gear box. With previous generation m3 f80 they couldn't beat c63s AMG because m3 f80 was only rear wheel with N55 engine which is really old and with G80 they updated engine( S58), transmission and suspension (rear and xDrive) so they're not at steroids.... Same as Porsche... They are very good at what they do with their cars
VW Group and BMW always tend to beat claimed figures. Others use their best times which largely require perfect conditions to achieve.
BMW all the way. I have never driven anything with such handle and power stock wise. When I decided to sell my 3 series to get an X3 my wife was annoying me so badly not to sell it. She was so spoiled by the 3 series handling.

I looked at a BMW X3M and A Porsche Macan GTS as my next daily and the X3M was complete trash. The suspension was so stiff felt like it was on coil overs, the Macan's handling felt like it a sports car and the steering feel was so natural compared to the BMW's that lacked any feel, the Macan was just as fast if not faster with 50 less HP, and finally the Macan's exhaust sounded so much better.

Right now I drive a Glc coupe 2020, and I still have the nostalgia from my BMWs , used to have an X5 2019 for 2 years until I got the glc, 2015 X5 for 4 Years and 2012 X5 for 3 years, 2008 X6 for 4 years and I can say it with chest, no one makes better SUVs than BMW

FYI, Matt, pretty sure the HEMI pistons are the same as any other pistons. The combustion chambers are hemispherical top rather than the normal flat one.
I think all common engines have flat top pistons with valve releaves, the hemi being hemispherical combustion chamber normally has a dome on the piston for a better combustion and improved compression ratio, which the others are trying to avoid being turbocharged lower static compression is desirable for less chance of detonation with poor quality gas.
HEMIs also normally have 2 spark plugs per cylinder.

Standard Wrangler 392 has a speed limiter at 99mph due to off-road tires. You can also get the 392 XR that is limited to 112mph and makes 1/4 mile in 13s flat on 35 inch BFG KO2 tires. Take them off-road and see what happens. Assuming the X7 can make it to the trailhead at all lol.
Wrangler 392 ain’t worth, people call the G wagon overpriced but that’s what you pay for when you want a body on frame performance suv with a v8. You could get a older G class for the same price as that wrangler with better specs and interior quality. Not to mention even if Mercedes is considered unreliable, jeep is known for being much much more unreliable
The defender is much better on the road and comparable off road, it's no comparison.

Buy an x7 I have put mine on 20 inch wheels with off-road tires and it is on par with range rovers when I go shooting. People don’t realise it’s all about the tires, diffs don’t matter if you have the wrong tires.
The only surprise is that the BMW didn't make a bigger gap. G Wagon is a damn box, no matter what engine it packs, it is absolutely not made for drag racing, so it's impressive it did that well.
To be honest we only watch ur videos if there is a BMW car , if not we just give you a like without watching just for the nice and great work you do .

To say the X7 is not a serious off-road vehicle is incorrect. Take one out one day and see what it can do. I guarantee it can do anything 95% of people who could swing the cost of one of these vehicles could need. I have taken the X3 and X5 through off-road courses, and they are very impressive.
Just typing in from the American desert here...where people really and truly go "jeeping" with Jeeps...the difference between the X7 and the Jeep off-road is much MUCH greater than their differences on-road...you'd just aw well have an M5 as that X7 on a real Jeep trail...
@JS right - and how many people in America really go on "real Jeep trails"? I know a bunch of people who have spent a ton of money putting accessories on their Jeeps, and we live in Florida, where the highest point is barely 200 feet above sea level. I am not saying the X is better, or even close off-road than a Jeep -that would be stupid. But most people would never come close to the limits of an X in their life, and having ridden in many Jeeps, I'll take the comfort of my X5 over any Jeep, any day.
Just the fact that there are 3 luxury manufactures here and then a Jeep really says something about Jeep. They’ve redesigned their brand while sticking to their heritage.
Actually with the inclusion of the Grand Wagoneer the Jeep brand can now run with the big boys as well as any.
