Airbrushed from history, and my lifetime commitment it to right that wrong by sharing everything with everyone i know..........massively massively under exposed in the media, massively influential in music
@@BC1000Stars So pleased you have done, Andy! I've been a massive BC fan since '83, but it wasn't easy to catch them when they were on telly and I'm really enjoying seeing all these clips - many for the first time!
It doesn't get much better than this. A great song by a fantastic band. I wish Stuart hadn't left us, he has left a massive void in British/Scottish music
OH YEAH I agree, so much more than their big country song they had! MAN this band is legendary and should be thought of as so! They were so talented, Stuart was DEEP AS HELL! I love his lyrics.
Well here I am again. i find myself continually coming back to this clip. I remember watching this performance when it was first aired. Made my hair stand on its end. This was the video that made me go out and buy The Crossing.
bowecho I'm 20, in the wrong era, born into the wrong generation... but truly humbled to be able to listen to some of Stuart's stuff when he is no longer around. His legacy lives on.
Thanks for posting this version. This is one of the mightiest songs ever recorded IMHO. Brings goosebumps every time I listen to it. Great memories of my formative years.
God Bless Stuart (Lead Singer) Died in 2001 hung himself! voted by Jon Peel as one of the best guitarist in Scotland!! was voted Scotland & the UK's answer to ?Hendrix! one of the best guitarist of all time! RIP stu!!!
Wow! WOW! OMG!!! lol, I would say I'm speechless, but obviously I'm not, lol. Feel like I'm dreaming. I take it this was rarely aired if even more than once. Nice treasure, thank you so much for sharing it. Uploaded clear back in 2008?!!! I can't believe I'm just now stumbling upon it. Giving it another WOWWW!
ok, I just rolled back to older comments on this one & turns out that I have seen it at least one time before this, I see a comment back 5 months ago from me myself. Still feels like I'm seeing it for the first time & to me that makes it a rare precious gem.
Do you know why it was re-recorded and what was 'Hold tight?' All this talk of nationality sometimes misses the point. People should be accepted for who they are rather than where they come from. Stuart seemed like a rare gem of a guy brilliant artist and a generous thoughtful soul.
I can remember watching this the first time it was aired as a teenager. Hold tight was a children's tv show filmed in the grounds of Alton Towers theme park. Love this version
That's true, especially in the album mix where it's barely audible at all. The 7" single mix (far superior imho) addressed this well by having it much higher. This is a great recording though for exactly this reason. Thanks for watching and commenting! Stay Alive!
@versioncity1 born in england his parents were scottish and he was raised there too though. so...born in england?...yes...................english?.......not in a million years though born there RIP Stuart
I seem to remember there being a kids show broadcast from a theme park during the 80's called Hold Tight. Not sure if this video is from that program, but it did used to feature different bands each week :)
Nope, his heritage is actually Scottish. And yeas, I do know he was born in Manchester, England, but both his mom & dad were Scottish. I'm pretty sure I read that they moved back to Scotland when he was 4 or 5 years old.

Ian that is one of the main motivations for starting the BC1000stars channel. 😊

Oh Lord where did the feeling go, Oh Lord I’ve never felt so low . Lyrics don’t really get much better than that.

At 1:25 you can hear the Ebow more behind the melody. It's not so upfront in other recordings.

Oh my! Stu and Mark look sooooo hot! So cool Andy!
@TheGazzernator Bruce was born in Canada (in Timmins, Ontario -- the same town as Shania Twain!)

@thamachad - They were all born in England - Stuart was brought up in Scotland.
TheGazzernator Bruce was born in canada
Te Skids were no mugs themselves l- let it be recalled .
Slow version
stuart was actually english, in fact none of them were scottish....
