My wife and I were at this concert as guests of Mike Peters. A true gent from my home town. He knew we were huge Big Country fans and to cap off a great concert he got us backstage to meet the band. Eternally grateful. RIP Stuart 🎸
WHAT A GIG ! I wasnt there for this one, but been at lots of them, including the london one shepherds bush ( tonys home town ) and so much , POWER / LOVE /ENERGY / THE BEST BAND EVER , FOR ME ! with no disrespect to anybody else .
wow not seen this since we shot this gig....not very well I may add, although it was one of our first commercial jobs to be honest & no one else was interested in filming it so Ian Grant used us, wish we could go back & do it again today... Filmed some test shots on this tour at Leeds T& C which i still have. Great band BC....was the start of something for us & the end for them....weird.
WHO CARES ! if its not one of your best ! we all have to learn our trade ! FOR ME /OTHERS , ITS THE GIFT OF SHARING THIS AMAZING ! GIG ! Thankyou so /so / so , much for doing it ! ,we hope life has been good to you !!!!! and many , many , thanks for doing it , It would have been lost , if you where , not there ! wishing you health , happiness and good fortune ,ritchie .
Awe mate, cheers for posting this you are a star... I was at that concert, one of the many BC concerts i was at, but what a performance. I was somewhere down in the mosh pit, pished and having a ball.... R.I.P Stewart... Scotty
i seen them play in Belfast the night before this performance amazing!! never will forget it!! Stuart Adamson was such a great talent!! he's missed so much!! RI|P!
I could feel the energy coming through my computer on this one! Stunning performance--cheers for the post! To my BFFF, kerpat: Huge hugs for the share!
There was a lot of banter edited out of the whole gig as well which is a shame as it was always a part of Stuart's charm, his interaction with the audience. We love you, Stuart. R.I.P
2:27 "Take me to the bridge" LOL, Stuart all over!!! Amazing de-tuned solo follows...! Huge the legacy with Mike Peters - Stuart, mate: RIP - we miss you sooo bad... :(
aarlevanbram - this is the last track they did together at the Barrowlands, which was cut from the Final Fling dvd release, it was on a webcast of the gig. My fav gig of all time incidentally! Stevie
Yeah, it tops the list for me, too! Why this was not included on the DVD I don't know, but I just wanted people to see it, it's too good to hide away never to be seen.
Hi "Nyquest". Any chance of you posting any of the test shots that you still have from the Leeds T & C? This sort of stuff is like gold dsut for us Big Country fans!! As we know, they are going back out on tour in January 2011 - will you be doing any filming for this as well? Paul.
2000 remember a trip from Holland to Glasgow. Rotterdam-New Castle. A mornin drive through Englands roads before getting into Scottish air and soil. The concerthall brilliant! That wooden dance hall floor. Mike Peters awesome. Big Country too much emotions for that time. Stuart in poor shape. Not musically but mental and physically. Last time seeing him in action. Too much beer before and the trip were enough above that to wore me out completely. after all happy to be there. x
Andy; you're a fuckin' diamond; never in my dreams thought i'd see this again; Mike sung his heart out! Gave his complete all; my absolute dream in '99 was to see/ hear Stuart and Mike do this on stage together...commented on this several times at the egham convention; and it happened!!!!! Gorgeous footage ob. with Stuart and Callum; what more could a BC fan want?
am sorry to say that although i love big country this is nowhere as good as the neil young version, for some reason the riff looses some of it's kick, and unfortunately no one can sing like him. don't blame them for trying though :)
Who created that exaggeratedly passionate and slightly effeminate style of singing that Bono and Mike Peters exhibit? I have a close friend who alleges that it was Bono, and as such, felt that it was appropriate to rename "The Alarm" "U-3". Then again, "Bono" had no qualms about further ripping off gospel singers of African decent (and not sharing the gate proceeds with them), and equally horrible, of ripping off Cher's deceased ex-husband's name and identity (Sony Bono).
Actually, Bono's nickname came from a hearing aid store on O'Connell Street in Dublin, called "Bono Vox" ... He was given that name by his friends at the time. And btw, it's "Sonny" Bono not "Sony" Bono. Screaming or not, these guys defined a generation and are still rockin it today. Rip Stuart Adamson, you are sorely missed!!

I can barely watch this. Thank you.
Should have been on the final fling DVD along with Kirsten singing Fragile Thing.
An Uncut "Final Fling" CD, DVD & blu-ray would be a great idea.
There was a lot of banter edited out of the whole gig as well which is a shame as it was always a part of Stuart's charm, his interaction with the audience.
We love you, Stuart. R.I.P
+Stuart Adamson - In A Big Country agreed !
+BC1000stars aye. For starters chance was twice as long as the released one. Or at least it felt like it was.
@@BC1000Stars used to love the chit chat and banter between songs from Stuart

Thanks so much for uploading this for us BC fans to see!
If you hadn't made this available, I'd probably have never known it existed : )
I like Mike Peters quite a bit but not here.
