  • S06E07: Hey Jude - Part Two
In June 1968 as The Beatles and the rest of the world got used to the new reality of John & Yoko, eligible bachelor P.McCartney visits his best friend’s estranged wife bearing a single red rose. Totally normal stuff. While driving, a song enters his head.
Live on tape from Dublin & Belfast, it’s Nothing Is Real.

I’ve often wondered that in the back of Paul’s mind when visiting Cynthia is that he could particularly empathise as he probably felt like he was losing John too.

Fun fact.. Paul forgot to bring another shirt for the revolution video so John gave him the lavender Henley shirt that John wore in the hey Jude video and that's what Paul is wearing in the revolution video.

John Lennon's psyche could be a dark place, this coupled with his upbringing and the fact that he is a global phenomenon/multi millionaire. I am amazed he survived and thrived as long as he did. The John/Yoko relationship will be a never ending riddle for all of us. You are both correct, no matter the ugly circumstances, Yoko was the wife/business partner/lover of John's life.

Great episode - minor correction: the first motorway was the M6 opened near my Home City of Preston in 1959 - and the M1 doesn't go from London to Liverpool so Paul likely drove down the M1 to London after his Bradford jaunt recording the Thingumybob theme in Bradford....😎

Whatever Paul’s intent, I respect him for checking in on Cyn and Julian. Cyn had been a part of Paul’s “family” since they were young adults. The Beatles had their fun, however Beatles or not, John had admittedly been a chronic adulterer. Screwing around when you have a wife and son a bit different than when involved and not married. We all have our vices, but treating your wife and son the way John did, what an ass. Accusing her of infidelity and putting the end of the relationship on her, is over the top. Musical genius but not a great guy, horrible father. No excuse

Projection is when you see your own flaws only in others, the unintegrated "shadow" or "other".

For all his talent and the issues he had as a child, he was not a very good person.

I would say deep down he was a good person but he made very bad decisions in certain areas of his life. I think he struggled to become a better person towards the end. He mentioned it a few times in interviews.

To think he connected with someone that stalked him for money is absurd. But then so was he and Yoko. Paul had trouble with the cruel abandonment. Quite ironic since he repeated the pain his father inflicted upon him.

I know I saw an interview with Jane once wish she was asked why she doesn't talk about Paul. She said that it due to respect for her husband.

Paul also sent a single red rose to Brian Epstein’s funeral even after knowing flowers are not appropriate for a Jewish funeral service.

Paul was more concerned about his relationship/partnership with John. I think his behavior with Cynthia (single rose, etc) has to be seen in that context.

Cynthia’s “red rose” visit from Paul seems very contrived. More like a rehearsed explanation. Your research corresponds more with the “Faul” timeline. After the real “Paul” was killed timeline, John. Starts falling apart and Yoko is instilled as his handler to keep him moving, this also explains how the relationship with “Paul” suddenly falls apart. These guys were a brand, that a corp put a lot of money into, insert new Paul and continue. I’m sure Cynthia was threatened like the rest. Paul broke off his engagement about that time as well and he was “missing” It explains a lot. 🤷‍♀️

If it wasn't for John's groupie....

I think he called the groupies "slags" in one interview. It was before the term groupies was invented
