Julian may be one of the most grounded and well-adjusted people of any child of any superstar. He's not a drug head, alcoholic, out of control imbecile. You don't hear or read bad stories about him. I credit that to Cynthia. She pretty much raised him herself under the most daunting circumstances, and he was always respectful to her and cared for her as should anyone with their Mom.
It had to be a heavy load being the son of one of the most loved stars of all time and the namesake of one of the most beloved songs in rock history.

I don't think I have enjoyed an interview with Julian as much as I did with this one. Julian was allowed to be himself, and speak about things his way and not be forced into making statements that could be manipulated. There was no "fan-girling" or stupid comments by the interviewer and the interviewer was genuinely interested in the interview and the responses. He had obviously done his home work.
Julian spoke eloquently and delivered his replies in a way that continues to endear him to the world. He is a brilliant talent and his photography and music stand alone in their brilliance and individuality. I am glad that Julian has now found peace and calm with his past and continues to use those experiences to map out his future his way. Overall this is the best interview I have seen Julian give.

Julian said he feels whole now. He has made peace within himself. Some people do find peace with such things. We can't change what happened, but we can change where that memory fits in our life. We can gain the broader understanding as an adult, that was not comprehendable as a child. We can fill the gaps that were left from childhood with self nurturing. When we learn who we are, separate from the false messages we were given, or interpreted, as children, we can learn to give ourselves emotionally what we need. Then the people who failed to meet those needs fade in power and consequence in the quality of our lives. The blackhole emptiness of lonely abandonment, sucking our energy, loses its power. The ache and sensitive bruise sting when touched, fades with this healing. Those memories fit differently, in a bigger weaving of life experiences, and people met, far beyond our childhood imagination.

Losing his father the way he did, then having to live in his shadow for so long, before realising who he was and what had to give to the world. I really admire Julian Lennon. He appears to be a very thoughtful, compassionate and grounded human being.
He has been treated badly over the years by the media and music industry. It must have been difficult living in his father's shadow, while carving out his own career and life. His father's second wife has a lot to answer for, by keeping Julian apart from his father's legacy.
Julian Lennon is a talented, visionary sincere person who deserved better from his father, the industry and the pernicious media.
I hope he has found peace.

We don't know the whole story. Deserved better from his father? It's a myth that his father was a terrible dad. I've seen hundreds of photos of John with Julian, including some with both of them in America including Yoko. John took him to the set of 'Happy Days', let Julian play drums on the 'Walls and Bridges' album, said 'hi Julian' in the 'Stand By Me' video, so he missed him alright. It didn't help that John was divorced from his first wife, so naturally you can't spend all your time with your son and being in another country didn't help either, especially with the immigration battles, but the bullshit that's evolved over time that John Lennon was a terrible dad is getting ridiculous ,..sure he wasn't perfect, few dads are, but Julian has done okay.

As a child, I absolutely loved "Too Late for Goodbyes" & "Valotte." Actually now in my 40's, I still play them frequently.
My Mom was a Beatles fan & though I often heard them back then when she played the oldies station, I didn't realize the connection at the time... but I knew she adored Julian as well. It wasn't until my senior year of high school when "The Beatles Anthology" aired that I became a huge fan myself & finally realized the connection. I finally saw the strong resemblance, but even as a child always could tell Julian's sound was very distinct.
As an adult... who also had her spouse walk out on her & their very young son...so much of Cynthia & Julian's story brings me to tears & anger each time I hear because it is all too familiar. It made listening to my much loved "Fab 4" & John's solo song's almost impossible for quite a while. So I really respect how Julian is able to separate the man from the music/artist & still find that appreciation. I also really respect the person & mother Cynthia was. John may have left a huge musical legacy. However, in everything I have ever read & watched of Julian...including this interview...her legacy speaks VOLUMES in the wonderful man Julian appears to be. I was completely mesmerized by this interview & no doubt will be watching again & sharing. Thank you for posting this & thank you Julian for the music, the creativity & your heart for others.

I’ve been watching many of the promo interviews the Julian has done for his new album, JUDE, and this one is by far, the best. Julian seems very candid, relaxed, and at peace with himself here. I do hope he gets that visit in with Uncle Paul to hear the stories he has to tell him. I’m glad that he mentioned his depression, and his struggle to come through it. It gives hope and encouragement to those who struggle with it, (including myself), to see someone else who has had and/or is still dealing with it, to be so strong and positive. Thank you for that, Julian, and best of luck to you in this new chapter of your life. Thanks to Krishnan for being well prepared for this interview, and for letting the interviewee tell his story, and not cut him off like so many others tend to do - well done!

Fantastic interview, what a nice level headed chap Julian is. Great to hear there is a close bond between him and Paul.

Julian's new album "Jude" is so extraordinary. I love love love it. After this wonderful-really wonderful-interview, I listened to "Imagine", then "Saltwater" and was blown away by both. Then I listened to 7 sonds off the album in a row, and "Love Never Dies" twice- and I recently NEVER listen to that many songs all the way through, much less by a single artist. He has found his voice, he no longer sounds like Paul or John- he sounds like Julian. Really inspiring (as a sometimes songwriter-poet myself it gives me a real kick in the butt to get things out and try to share it- what elese can it be for???!).

How refreshing to have an interviewer genuinely interested enough to allow his guest to speak without interruption. What a lovely man Julian is, I was born in 1962 and although my friends were listening to Bay City Rollers I was a Beatles fan and I had a huge crush on John Lennon. As I grew up and the hero worship veil was lifted, I was not so enthralled with John or Paul but I did appreciate their music still. Julian seems a genuinely lovely man, level headed and intelligent, amazing given his early years. A credit to the love he had from his mother that he managed to negotiate the pitfalls of mental health associated with broken homes and come through to have a succesful career in his own right.

I did not know Julian Lennon has a new album. Thanks to this interview, I listened to it. Julian Lennon's new album is exactly the glorious music I KNEW he could produce. In the 80's, I kept waiting for his voice. Now, finally, his voice has made its reveal. I love the new album.

A storied life well lived, a soul adrift on the tradewinds of the ocean of isness, a caring, thinking, feeling, human being. Talented and comfortable in his own skin. Thank you, Julian. Very inspiring how you've picked up the pieces of your life, dismissed whatever insulted your soul, kept the best of the rest and moved on.
