It’s definitely not the biggest commercial airliner. Bruce Dickinson of Iron Maiden flew the 747, which was the biggest airliner until the A380 came out.
When this movie came out it was HUGE. Our Aussie girl Olivia Newton-John as Sandy and John Travolta as Danny. And the whole soundtrack album is incredible. Barry Gibb wrote the title track of the movie!
This song was written by Olivia's best friend Pat Carroll's husband, John Farrar, both fellow Australians. ONJ was born in UK but her family emigrated when she was a small girl. I saw Olivia Newton John in concert only a few years ago at the Royal Albert Hall in London. She was in her 60s and still had the same clear cutting voice. What a talent!
Olivia Newton-John was Australia's "girl next door" before this movie came out... She made a lot of us guys look at the "girl next door" in a WHOLE new way 😂
She wasn't quite the girl next door early in her career. If you search around UA-cam you can find clips from her early days and there was a lot of tongue in cheek humor to the things she did. You can even find clips of the movie she made with her band Toomorrow. She groomed the girl next door image with her breakout country pop crossover hits. Saying all of that, I was in love with her in 1972 and I am still in love with her today. Just don't tell my wife.
The movies "Grease" and "Saturday Night Fever" are about equal for John Travolta. But if you want to see the role that really propelled him from a nobody to being in everyone's home, see the TV series "Welcome Back, Kotter". That is were Travolta started his climb to stardom.
I agree. I'd also add "Pulp Fiction" to the list since it's the film that revived John Travolta's career. This is my favorite part of the movie. ua-cam.com/video/6Pkq_eBHXJ4/v-deo.html The dialogue I love starts at about 0.57
Urban Cowboy is one of my all time favorite movies. It has John Travolta and Debra Winger in her first movie appearance. I may watch it again tonight. After I watch Grease again. Lol
John Travolta was also the lead of Saturday Night Fever movie. The majority of the soundtrack was written by the Bee Gees. That shot them to major stardom in America. It also was the first time a soundtrack to a movie was made and was released before the movie started. The Bee Gees songs went to the top of the charts. John Travolta became a dancing icon. And also Olivia Newton-John was very good friends with the Bee Gees. They all grew up in Australia.
This makes me feel really old. I went to the drive in theater to see Grease when it came out. I actually like the movie more now than I did watching it the first time. It gets better and better with time. You will love it.

One of my top three favorite movies ever and my favorite movie song is this one and "Hopelessly Devoted To You" also sung by Olivia in the movie. This song is sooo fun!! 😊
Grease is my absolute all-time 100% FAVORITE movie!!! I saw this in 1978 in the theater for my birthday as a young teen. It absolutely changed my life! I am in my 50s now, and still when people ask me my favorite movie, it’s always Grease. I still have the album after all these years. Another must-see movie! So you need to start making a list: Ghost, Titanic, & Grease so far. Add Sixteen Candles, Breakfast Club, and Can’t Buy Me Love, which are all excellent examples of 80s classic movies. Looking forward to your movie reaction channel! Love you guys!!! 💕

Great reaction. I adore ONJ and Grease - John Travolta is a good singer and amazing dancer, but Olivia is fantastic - check out songs like Magic, Xanadu (from the eponymous film) and Physical. Sports movies: A League of Their Own involves the true story of a women's baseball league that was run during WW2, which basically became as popular as the World Series. Madonna, Geena Davis, Rosie O'Donnell and Tom Hanks are in it! I love that film.
You didn't know John Travolta can sing but did you know he can dance? Please react to Bee Gees, 'You Should be Dancing' scene from Saturday Night Fever and have your mind blown. I also recommend ELO with Olivia Newton-John singing Xanadu.
I came so close to suggesting this last week. Olivia had an interesting career. A couple of her earlier songs are, “I Honestly Love You” and “Have You Never Been Mellow” then that sweet little girl came along with songs like “Physical”. Check her out! Jordan’s got to see the movie! And yes “Friday Night Lights”… my high school! We won state (undefeated) my Sr. Year and went to state my brother’s Sr year (he was a captain) and my dad filmed the games for the coaches for 32 years. And you need to watch Stayin Alive. John Travolta dances in that and the Bee Gees did lots of the music! I don’t think I’ve ever seen you both dance that much to a song! ❤️
So sad at the very recent loss of Olivia Newton John. But smiling, watching your response to this great old treasure from back in “my day”. Used to listen and sing along to this music on the radio while doing dishes.
I remember walking downtown with a group of my friends to the ‘Regent Theater’ to watch ‘Grease’ on the big screen when it first came out! Such a classic!! You HAVE to watch it Jordan!!!
Trust me John Travolta in saturday night fever is what got him noticed and that's the film which got him the roll in grease, great music iconic dancing and quite deep themes.
Travolta is a classic-style actor. He is an iconic actor, plus, he can sing and is an awesome dancer. Not many these days can do all that. Love this movie musical. She was a "goody two shoe" turned bad to attract Travolta's character. Her voice can melt a heart, for sure. Another good movie with Travolta was "look who's talking" and the follow up to it "look who's talking II". If you like Travolta these are a must see.
One of my favorite songs from one of my favorite movies and favorite soundtracks!!! So sad that Olivia is no longer with us. RIP sweet Miss Newton-John. You entertained us and made us all feel better about this world we live in. You will be sorely missed.
One of my mother's favorite movies...Grease. John Travolta is hilarious in this film. Especially when he throws that 🏀 in that jock's face & letting that catcher's mask smack his face, during baseball practice. When trying out for sports to impress Sandy/Olivia Newton John! 😂 Freaking priceless! 🤣
John Travolta - triple threat. Can sing, can dance, can act!! Grease came out when I was about 13, I think. Pre-teen, young teen years. I got the album and played it over and over and over. It's still one of my favorite movies. With one of my favorite songs being "Worse things I could do" sung by Stockard Channing.
Hold on. He’s never seen Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. Like wtf. I feel like you may also say some sacrilegious thing like that he hasn’t seen Dirty Dancing. Or The Princess Bride. Or Clueless.
Grease is in the top ten of Travolta movies but younger people remember him from Pulp Fiction, Get Shorty, Phenomenon, Face/Off, Primary Colors, Swordwish, Be Cool, Lonely Hearts, Wild Hogs, Hairspray, The Taking of Pelham 123 and Gotti. Before his comeback role in Pulp Fiction he was also in Saturday Night Fever, Urban Cowboy and three Look Who's Talking movies.
@@marcmarc1967 - Welcome Back Kotter was one of the first TV shows that taught me how to throw shade... ok a lot of it was corny because they still had to keep it pretty clean for those times but it was a good starting point.. to this day I find it hard to NOT throw shade on someone when the opportunity presents 😂
Oh yeah, not to mention multiple songs by female artists. Pat Benatar, Janis Joplin, Stevie Nicks, Amy Winehouse, Dolly Parton,... all of these ladies have multiple hits.
Grease is a classic! This scene changed Oliva's girl next door image to a sexier image outside the film and made her a mega star. She was very famous in the late 70's and early 80's. She won best female everything for years. She semi retired around 1985 to have her daughter. She had some really big hits.
Grease is generally reconed to be the best musical of all time. It signifyed what everybody wanted their school days to be like. The movie came out when I was 14 at school and everybody was into it. A real feel good movie. If you like emotional movies can I suggest Heaven Can Wait with Warren Beatty and Julie Christie, it makes me cry every time, or Michael which also has John Travolta in it, I cry every time with the scene with the dog (wont say any more dont want to spoil it)
Said hardly anyone. The film that is generally considered to be the best movie musical is _Singing in the Rain._ One can make a distinction between musicals that were written directly for film, like _Singing in the Rain_ or _42nd Street_ (the doyenne of backstage musicals), and those that are film adaptations of stage musicals, like _Grease_ or _Little Shop of Horrors._ For film adaptations of stage musicals top votes tend to be split between _My Fair Lady_ and _Cabaret._
@@williammack6083 Absolutely. It is not only one of the best musicals, it is one of the most important musicals. It was the first really successful musical tragedy outside of the opera house. It has the best of Bernstein's popular music and is equally notable for being the show that introduced Broadway audiences to Sondheim. There's some debate as to whether _Oklahoma!_ or _Show Boat_ should take pride of place as the linchpin for the book musical. Kern and Hammerstein's _Show Boat_ (1927), adapted from Edna Ferber's 1926 novel, is certainly the first musical in which the book drives the songs, but it was Rogers and Hammerstein's _Oklahoma!_ (1943) that really changed audience expectations of what a musical could be. That both have lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II suggests he was the driving force behind the idea of the book musical.
Grease is tons of fun. The best musical ever for me is, Jesus Christ Superstar. Lots of people say, Phantom of the Opera, but Superstar has it all. It has Andrew Loyd Webber and Tim Rice, who also made Phantom and it has Ted Neely and a host of great rock performers and dancers to the rock opera. And it's not like you can ever top the storyline, lol.
When you get around to watching classic movies, be sure to watch the musical "The Wizard of Oz" (1939). I was born in the 1960s and this movie was still played at least once a year on one of the three total TV channels we received. There were also some other interpretations, like "The Wiz" (1974) described as a super soulful musical.

Yes this Aussie grew up drooling over her
Remember they had to sew and glue those pants on to her! She said they were the most uncomfortable thing she had ever worn
Thanks for the reaction, this song was no. 1 in New Zealand for ages…RIP Olivia love you on Grease…
'Rocky Horror Picture Show' and 'Grease' are my favorite musical films.
Don’t forget to show him Saturday Night Fever so he can watch John Travolta disco dance too!
Olivia Newton John has such a sweet beautiful voice. I Honestly Love You and from Grease Hopelessly Devoted to You.
The movies "Grease" and "Saturday Night Fever" are about equal for John Travolta. But if you want to see the role that really propelled him from a nobody to being in everyone's home, see the TV series "Welcome Back, Kotter". That is were Travolta started his climb to stardom.
Facts.
lots of memories....
Memories.....oooh oooh oooh Mr. Kahtear 😁
I agree. I'd also add "Pulp Fiction" to the list since it's the film that revived John Travolta's career. This is my favorite part of the movie.

The dialogue I love starts at about 0.57
actually before welcome back kotter tracolta starred in a somewhat popular movie called bubble boy
Jordan should watch “Dirty Dancing” if he hasn’t seen it! Legendary soundtrack. ✌🏼❤️
Yeah! Epic soundtrack and epic movie! :-)
The first thing I thought of was a reaction to the Patrick Swayze song that he sang
Agree. And footloose
OMG yes he needs to watch Dirty Dancing. And you need to do a reaction to Jeff Healey's Angel Eyes and Don Henley last worthless evening
The bass cover to this song is one of the most difficult and complicated ones to learn. Olivia will be in our hearts forever.
It was written specially for the movie
The bass line in this song is perfection
Urban Cowboy is one of my all time favorite movies. It has John Travolta and Debra Winger in her first movie appearance. I may watch it again tonight. After I watch Grease again. Lol
RIP Dame Olivia, you will be missed greatly and have provided the soundtrack of our lives.
Yes! Every song is a keeper. The dance sequence of Born to Handjive is epic!! Please do a reaction to this.
More ONJ! Oh, that voice. And what a classic beauty.
My favourite musical of all time. And John and Olivia in this song… ooo la la
The scene where travolta is walking down the sidewalk to the song “night fever” by The Bee Gees in Saturday Night Fever is iconic. Check it out.
I know I can't hear that song and not see him strutting down the street
I thought it was Staying Alive he was strutting down the street to. It’s been a long time though, so I could be wrong!
@@aquarius2287 I think he does it in both lol
Check him out in Urban Cowboy tearing up the dance floor with the Texas two-step. Awesome movie.
In the movie Michael he dances with a bar full of women.
Loved Johnny boy in the Look Who's Talking movies. He was more of a dancer than a singer.
Love those movies
I loved John's performance in "Face Off" with Nicholas Cage... One of his best movies imo
Olivia Newton - John is soooo beautiful even in this day & age & she’s a Cancer Survivor 💕
She's back to fighting it again now. 😔
This makes me feel really old. I went to the drive in theater to see Grease when it came out. I actually like the movie more now than I did watching it the first time. It gets better and better with time. You will love it.
I went to the theatre by myself (I was 10) because I wanted to see it so bad - and no one would take me. I was so in love with Travolta!
I saw it in 2020 at a drive in, don’t feel old. Feel proud you got to see it originally at a real original drive in.
Had to come back and watch this again today. R. I. P. Olivia Newton John.
Grease was a Broadway musical for years prior to the movie being made. Jeff Conaway, who plays Kenickie, played the John Travolta role on Broadway.

Carol king's Jazzman is a great song.
I'm looking forward to their reaction to Bobby Gentry's "Ode to Billy Joe."
add Lacey Sturm / Flyleaf for female Fridays
Tina 'Legs' Turner
One of my top three favorite movies ever and my favorite movie song is this one and "Hopelessly Devoted To You" also sung by Olivia in the movie.
This song is sooo fun!! 😊
Kenny Loggins : Footloose is another great movie song that I just can't sit still to
Me too. And I have two left feet.
The ORIGINAL Footloose with Kevin Bacon (g)
YES !!! The original Footloose Movie starring Kevin Bacon.
Can't wait to see the movie channel. Another musical to check out would be "Footloose"
seconds this suggestion
Yup🙋♀️
I loved this one. I laughed my head off and cried especially because now we lost Olivia Newton John.
Olivia and John.....really one of the greatest couples in music film history...!!
Rest in Peace Olivia Newton-John, you guys really now need to do a movie reaction to Grease.
Hopelessly Devoted - one of the best songs of all time.
They’d love that song.
Just remember Rob, “If you aren’t an athlete, be an athletic supporter.”
LOL
This should have more likes.
@@barbaramcgee8933 Have you listend to the song GREASE LIGHING with John Some of the words about the ladies genitalia Are very x rated Her BLANKS ARE CREAM AND A PY WAGON LOL
Lol.... Perfect
john travolta started his career in the early 70s on USA tv shows, then went on to play Danny Zuko in Grease at the age of about 29....he was also in Saturday Night Fever.. He is an acccomplished singer, dancer, actor and pilot.
John Travolta Was very popular in the 70s, Welcome back Kotter in 1975, Was a Mega popular 70s Sit Com
@@theodoreritola9758 I remember that as a kid. He's amazing.
Noone knew that John could sing like that but his voice is also great.
I thought he might say "Rudy" when he was saying he knows a sports movie that would make Amber cry.
I love her songs...Magic ..... Xanadu
No SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER , WAS WAY BIGGER From 1977, Grease was 1978 LOVE THE 70s Baby , The theme song for GREASE Was writen by THE Bee Gees
@@timorr2399 Or "Brian's Song"
@@theodoreritola9758 and Frankie Valli sang it
This song was number one in the Uk chart for 9 weeks. The movie is packed with fantastic songs.
The two best songs were written especially for the movie by John Farrar (ex MW&F & The Shadows). They are this one and "Totally Devoted to You".
Saturday night fever with John Travolta dancing is well worth watching, features The Bee Gees music.
My sister's absolute favorite movie of all time. I've literally never seen the entire movie but I can sing every song word for word! Love ya sis!!!
If you get him to watch Grease, pull him into the Blues Brothers and Aretha’s great scene.
Beautiful beautiful. Best musical ever !!!
Saturday Night Fever was probably his most famous movie.
With an entire soundtrack by the Bee Gees.
Grease had literal double the box office of SNF. But the SNF soundtrack outsold Grease.
Whenever you have the chance, listen to Olivia Newton-John's "I Honestly Love You."
Love that song!!!
So sad at the very recent loss of Olivia Newton John. But smiling, watching your response to this great old treasure from back in “my day”. Used to listen and sing along to this music on the radio while doing dishes.
J&A, You'll love Olivia solo!! "I Honestly Love You", "Let Me Be There", "A Little More Love" and many more. One of the great female voices.
Olivia's first hit song If Not For You and many hits later. Living Legend.
Yes, John Travolta was a trained dancer and singer. He was told early on that he needed to be well-rounded to make it big.
Yup, if you spend the very small time (considering an average lifespan) to enjoy this flick you will not regret it!! Total fun, great music.
Have watched Grease a million times…it never gets old!
Olivia Newton John hits legendary status because of this roll in Grease the movie!
May her soul rest in Peace.
One of my mother's favorite movies...Grease.
John Travolta is hilarious in this film.
Especially when he throws that 🏀 in that jock's face & letting that catcher's mask smack his face, during baseball practice. When trying out for sports to impress
Sandy/Olivia Newton John! 😂
Freaking priceless! 🤣
You two are just adorable! 😍😍
44 years later they were still very close friends. RIP Olivia!!
Such a beautiful soul - Olivia !!! XX RIP X
Hold on. He’s never seen Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. Like wtf. I feel like you may also say some sacrilegious thing like that he hasn’t seen Dirty Dancing. Or The Princess Bride. Or Clueless.
Seen all of them but honestly Ferris wasn't all that 🤷
Ferris Bueller has held up as a great movie
@@bethshadid2087 I agree. I don't see the hype.
Oh man don't forget the breakfast club 16 candles and weird science top gun oh my God there's just so many
Grease is in the top ten of Travolta movies but younger people remember him from Pulp Fiction, Get Shorty, Phenomenon, Face/Off, Primary Colors, Swordwish, Be Cool, Lonely Hearts, Wild Hogs, Hairspray, The Taking of Pelham 123 and Gotti. Before his comeback role in Pulp Fiction he was also in Saturday Night Fever, Urban Cowboy and three Look Who's Talking movies.
And us real old timers remember his as Vinnie Barbarino in Welcome Back Kotter.
Definitely one of my favorite female artists Olivia Newton John RIP
You should probably have Womanly Weekends instead of Female Fridays because setting aside only one day a week for female singers isn't enough.
Agree! It’s so hard not to post 6 female videos on Friday’s because there is so much to cover.
Oh yeah, not to mention multiple songs by female artists. Pat Benatar, Janis Joplin, Stevie Nicks, Amy Winehouse, Dolly Parton,... all of these ladies have multiple hits.
I second that emotion.
Grease is a classic! This scene changed Oliva's girl next door image to a sexier image outside the film and made her a mega star. She was very famous in the late 70's and early 80's. She won best female everything for years. She semi retired around 1985 to have her daughter. She had some really big hits.
WOW, OLIVIA NEWTON JOHN HAD A VOICE FROM AN ANGEL...RIP
West Side Story needs to be somewhere on this list.
