I'm so fucking pissed Liam didn't have him try that. That's a super huge fucking deal. It means that he wasn't exactly erased, but nullified. He (Lucky Ted) is no longer allowed to exist in any form in Nier. Maybe that'll come up in Automata, who knows?
Spencer he actually does get reborn one final time. In Grimoire Nier they add a final true end. End E. It's more or less the end to SotC. The Memory Tree, after being saved by Kaine from an execution program due to the plan's failing, repays her by sensing her sorrow. She lacks something but cannot remember what. Though its own memory of what she lacks is faded it retained enough to recreate Nier, only in much younger child form. Though Kaine still does not remember why she wants to stand by the boy she does so anyway.
+Spencer Johnson Whaaaaa!! Wow. I am so glad I decided to rewatch the entire NieR Let's Play again and scrolled down to see your comment. That is amazing. I am now also pissed at Liam for not showing it in the video. It's such a gigantic deal! That explains how Kainé still kinda remembers him. My original thought was that Kainé remembers him because she gained her full humanity again for his life but what you mentioned is so much better. This ending is now less sad and I appreciate that. Now I'm very curious as to why Automata has NieR in its title. Is he gonna be in the game or not? I can't wait to find out. Though if he's not in the game I will become very disappointed but I won't let that base the game for me. I will enjoy it.
Shawn Smith grimoire nier is a Japan exclusive book that's meant to be a companion piece with the game. It's filled with everything that couldn't make it into the game including backstories on characters and what's the actual last ending of the game, Ending E. Go read it on the nier wiki page. Its meant to be read after you finish the game.
IDK, I'm a pretty big jrpg nerd....does anyone else feel hollowed after arriving at Nier's final end? Because the ending, sure, it denied Nier's existence by erasing it. Your body, your memory, your items, weapons, skills, etc. But it couldn't erase MY save data. Me, I, the player, will always remember the story. Which makes this kind of ending all the more sad feeling. Especially when you're invested in a story.
He funnily enough does return as more or less a child. People still dont remember him though, just find him familiar. I dont think even he remembers himself beyond a few ingrained memories here and there. I believe the reincarnated Nier of Grimoire Nier's ending E is meant to be the last replicant the memory tree creates, and apparently as a gift to Kaine as it senses something in turmoil in her thoughts (she's lacking something but cannot remember what). . This story has a more or less shadow of the colossus end.
Something interesting: If you immediately try to make a new game with your previous character's name (Lucky Ted in this case) after Ending D, it tells you that it is impossible. I believe after restarting the system it will allow you, but that may be a bug.
I also wish Liam knew the lore. But I guess we can read all about it in the book Grimwoir Noir. Which totally exits and totally isn't actually called Grmwoir Nier. Thanks Liam. You da best.
Not really. You gotta remember that humans in Nier had very, very wonky understanding of magic and the only reliable source of it they could use was their souls. What gets thrown into the grinder to make an ultimate weapon? Kids. Who gets turned into magical books? People. And so on, and so forth.
Yo there's two things that this LP didn't mention that are super interesting. (1) Not only is Lucky Ted erased from existence and your save data deleted, but if you try to start a new game with a new character named "Lucky Ted", the game won't let you. That character will forever not exist, which is another reason why a Nier 2 caught people off guard. (2) Kaine dresses the way she does for two main reasons. The first Liam mentioned, where she wants to see her body, and emphasize the parts that are actually hers. The other thing that Liam didn't mention, is that the memory tree creates bodies / shells based on the memories it has. Over time the memories went shitty, and so when it went to make another Kaine shell, it went "is it a boy? a girl? Fuck it I don't know just do both", so Kaine actually has a penis in this iteration. That's why she gets bullied so much, and that bully Dio makes comments about her "pretending to be a girl". In response, Kaine dresses the way she does to emphasize the feminine parts of herself. It's a "I'm still human / I am a woman" kind of thing.
Alright, now that the LP is done it's time for some Nier facts that didn't make it into the game and Liam either didn't say or got wrong! If you'd like to find this lore yourself and correct me feel free to look up Grimoire Nier, the additional content book only release in Japan but has translations of on the internet! Now, to begin: 1.The reason Nier becomes the Shadowlord and is special to all the Shades is because his essence (maso) is the only thing that keeps Shades from going nuts. They serve him like a king and follow his orders because he has the power to destroy all of them without lifting a finger. 2. Not all the Shades you fight before part 2 are crazy. A lot of them are actually just people who think the Replicants are horrible monsters inhabiting their bodies, and they will literally kill the bodies to take them back and force a possession. In some places the Replicants actually allow the Gestalts to possess them, which is partially what happens in the Aerie. 3. The being known as "Red Eye" is only briefly mentioned by the Memory Tree, but in actuality the monster seems to be a spawn of the final boss of Drakengard. It led a force known as "The Legion," an army of white monsters, and seemed to be the only intelligent monster created from the disaster. It was killed and revived centuries later by a Replicant, and an Android and 4 Replicants had to kill it again. Oh, and you remember that whole magical weapons facility under Emil's house where it's revealed Emil and his sister's bodies were used to create weapons of magical destruction? That was so they could fight the Legion. 4. Grimoire Weiss and Grimoire Noir, as well as 11 other unnamed Grimoires (one of which you fight in Emil's mansion) are books and Gestalts fused together. Weiss and Noir were created as a way to forcibly rejoin Gestalts and Replicants, but it could only be done if Weiss and Noir fuse together, which Replicant Nier prevents by hitting him really hard.5. That wasn't Grimoire Noir at the start of the game that Nier took to fight off the Shades. That was a copy of Noir that would turn anyone who touched it into a Gestalt. All the Shades he killed were people he saw touch one of these copies and go crazy, so he grabbed Yonah and ran away, but they chased him. After Yonah touched it and began to relapse (the Black Scrawl is the sign of a relapsing Gestalt), Nier became desperate and allowed himself to become one as well. Him being a stable Gestalt was pure coincidence. 6. With the Shadowlord dead, everyone in the world will die. His essence was the only thing keeping the Gestalts stable and healthy, and once Nier killed him the entire world was doomed. This includes the Replicants because the only things keeping them alive were the Androids Popola and Devola, whom Nier also killed. This means that Yonah will die too, because the Black Scrawl can only be cured by maso. 7. The only way humanity has a hope for surviving is if Kaine has a shit load of kids. Thanks to Nier's sacrifice she became the only true human in the world, which makes her the only one capable of actually reproducing. Unfortunately Kaine is most likely infertile because she's not actually a girl, she's a hermaphrodite. That's the reason the people in the Aerie abused her so much. 8. Emil is going to live alone forever. Since everyone is going to die in a few years and he's immortal, he will be stuck on Earth with no one to be with him until the sun explodes. Unless, of course, he gains enough magical power to create some form of life. Who knows, this universe is weird. 9. If you'd like to read more interesting and depressing lore about the tragedy of Nier, here's a link to the translation of Grimoire Noir: docs.google.com/document/d/1vEP2iZ52P-DWhQBQ2Is6R8Wjao99AGi0YuWShTvA-tA/mobilebasic?viewopt=127#h.8c07dafd1183
Well here's my theory (and keep in mind I haven't seen any of the trailers for Automata, so I could have some details mixed up): the whole White Chlorination Disease (people turning into salt) originated in Tokyo, and the city was quarantined. Obviously the quarantine failed and it continued to spread, because the Legion shows up in China. So if I had to guess, all the humans that live on the moon are not Japanese, they're probably American or Russian and didn't have access to Project Gestalt. So they fucked off while the world died and waited patiently for everything to simmer down. That's my current guess anyway.
Nier: Earn your *progressively even worse* ending! and Pat's right in that there's a single thing that doesn't technically reset: You can't make another Nier save file using the name "Lucky Ted".
Then there is the cut Ending E, which can be found in the Grimore Nier book. In which Kaine meets the tree in the text adventure area and gets Nier back, as a young boy. The First Drakengard game has progressively worse endings.
OK so final lore here: there IS a heaven in this game. all the shades are in this heaven. in ending B when you see all the dead bosses including the twins, it's too imply that they all had souls despite them thinking they didn't, beepy included. when Kaine dies she goes to heaven, tyrann stays back for a second because magic to comfort nier n tell him Kaine's last message. so whether you wanna call it an afterlife or heaven, all the characters including the replicants, robots n Androids go there.
oh also in grimoir nier ending E implies that ending D is the canon ending. long story short Kaine goes to memory tree because she can't remember nier but she still has dreams of him which pisses her off. she battles memory tree. memory tree send her to afterlife where she pulls back nier only he's younger.
Tim G Nierman coming back. It just kinda makes the choice meaningless to me. I just dislike when characters are killed only to be brought back in general.
+Thanatos388 ya I agree but I mean it's the only way nier could have a direct sequel. granted it's set 8000 years after this n the only reappearing character listed so far is Emil with the rest only being mentioned. also nier automata isn't a sequel to dadnier. taro admitted that the canon game is with bronier n that ending E is with bronier basically Kaine ends up raising 7-8 year old bronier, not marrying him
There can be more to a game than instant and constant gratification. Nier may not be "fun" all the time, but the experience of having played it is so much stronger than most other games.
He really does a fabulous job of explaining and critiquing all 3 (as well as be humorous). Real great channel, very under appreciated as well. EDIT: Finding the Plot also does an excellent job of explaining it. The channel is pretty dead, but still worth a look.
Except it wasn't the last thing in the Timeline, Liam. Ending E is (or was, rather), in Grimoire Nier, You know, the one where the Memory Tree freaks the fuck out, Kaine goes to investigate, Emile shows up with four arms for some reason, and then the memory tree fucking recreates Nier from it's data banks, but it's not clear if it's the same Nier or just a new Replicant bearing his name and face. Also, well before Automata was announced (and even before Drakengard 3), Yoko Taro talked about how Aliens attacked Earth, and how they had the tech to help humanity, and were like "nah, fuck off" to humans, which forced what was left of the aspects of humanity to set aside their differences just to survive.
Ending B- Emil: "Gee, I'm sure glad I survived! I can't wait until I can see Kaine and the others again! They must be so happy that they saved Yonah...." Ending C/D- .................. FFFFFFFFFffffffffffffffffffffffff........................ YEAH, good luck with that, kid! GOOD FUCKIN' LUCK!!!
And thus by being erased from everyone's (but one girl's) memory Nier achieved godhood. His wish: whenever a gestalt is on the verge of relapsing he'll be there to put them out of their misery and personally lead them to heaven.
I think ending E in grimoire nier is supposed to be the canon ending (and the creator has said his preference in game ending for Papa Nier and Oni-Chan).
Ending E is the canon ending that continues from ending D, Taro said Ending D is the canon end for Brother Nier cause he's tired of taking care of Yonah and Ending C is the canon for Father Nier cause he cares too much about Yonah to leave her.
Huh. That's interesting. A little weird, though. "I can't be bothered look after my sister anymore so I'll erase myself." I find that out of character. Granted, the Japanese script might be very different. The impression I got from Ending D is that Nier can't bare to lose another friend. He would do anything to protect those he loves, which I believe he states when fighting Shadowfax. Maybe Taro's trolling, but who knows with that guy?
PolarPhantom Brother Nier is a VERY different character than Father Nier and the script reflects this. At one point Brother Nier had to whore himself out to some old man to pay for Yonah's medical bills, Nier later killed the guy and felt nothing in doing so. Brother Nier was kind of a sociopath.
Rose Nakahara Fffffffffffffffffffffffffuck. I was unaware of this. I didn't think there'd be anything like that. I thought they'd be more or less the same character, but... Jesus. Poor Nier Onii chan...
Man, was this a really weird series. Just Liam and Pat talking about quick breads for half an hour every video, for what? 33 half-hour videos about cakes and muffins and breads that are quick. They could have at least played a game or something.
Apparently in an interview (I believe it was with the director) they said that Father Nier would go with ending C and brother Nier would choose ending D, so it's possible Automata could possibly go off of the third ending, depending on which Nier is the "canon" one. looking forward to see how it goes!
It feels really weird that Lucky Nier went through all this shit just to be with his daughter again, and as soon as he reunites with her he decides, "Well now that that's out of the way time to erase myself from time".
To start I just want to say a huge thank you to Liam and Pat for playing this to completion, it was an awesome trip down memory valley, secondly I want to thank them for adding little details to the game I didn't know (mainly Liam) such as the salt fact and that being the reason for the name of the music at the start of the game and finally just a massive thank's for making it so entertaining to watch, I hope everyone else enjoyed this masterpiece too dood :D
Here's a fun little fact that some people miss. If you try to start a fresh new game, you can't use any names that were used previously to get Ending D with. After all, how can you play as them again if they no longer exist? So in this case, Lucky Ted is not only gone, you can't even play as him again. You can play as any other combination of names, just not Lucky Ted specifically. The only way to get around that is to either delete the System Data or play on a different account.
I don't get why people get so worked up about Kaines gender, I mean aye she is a herm but her character and development is so good that that fact is eclipsed by who she is rather than being her defining feature, which easily happens in other games and stuff. She is a great character, and how little her gender matters to the characters she travels with if you picked up on the hints is more real, and relatable. I mean if they are cool travelling around with a skeleton and a talking book and with Kaine being half shade herself, I am quite certain what's between her legs isn't a big concern to her or her allies.
Silvah500 That's kinda what Yoko Tato wanted, for her gender to be something of little matter, because, in the end, that's not something that we should care about, it shouldn't matter if someone is x or y, not like, for example, BioWare, that tends to emphasize on character with diferent "traits" making it so that we guve nore atention to(even if is like in a bad way), it's just that people tend to make a big fuss about this kind of thing that it exploded rather quickly. Kayne is the true love that we all deserve.
Man, I nearly gave up finishing this playthrough because their second playthrough so much more rushed and less impactful than their first (especially them breezing through the bosses, that were really cool the first time) - not that I'm complaining about that as we did already see most of the game. But, it did take away from a lot of the impact. Coming back and finishing, I'm so glad. The Shadowlord's added dialogue and scenes were awesome, as was Kaine's and Emil's. Overall, I do think this game is awesome. I know a lot of people were complaining about how much the second playthrough hit you over the head with the "You were the Monstars the whole time narrative", but I really did think that for some bosses it added so much and made for some really genuinely emotional moments (for me, Beepy and Kalil hit me the hardest; I was actually getting slightly teary-eyed at how innocent they both were). Maybe a lot of problems could have been solved by talking - looking at you Kaine - but it also really did feel like, to me, that even if Shades and the Replicants could communicate, it wouldn't change anything: especially in regards to the Roc-and-Facade relationship, most shades and humans wouldn't be able to live alongside one another if you take into account factors like competition for resources and the fact that the Shades were unstable anyway. Is this the Perfect Story? Not at all. Do I think it's well-written and has some incredible moments in it? Absolutely.
Kingdom Hearts is a waay better video game than Nier. With a much more fluid and fun combat system. But Nier is obviously more interesting in other ways.
Fun fact for nier after ending D if you dont delete the system data the game will not allow you to start a new game using the same name you used before
Ok so, i'll just throw this out here in the comment section. Emil apparently does remember Nierman. I mean, it's from the audiodrama but Emil does remember him. While fighting aliens in his new magical robot body. Yes.
Thank you for this LP, I really enjoyed watching the whole playlist and this play and a collection of scientific logs I found about the WCS helped a ton
omfg i love Pat's first death. Told specifically to watch his health...continues to eat bullets without healing. Also, Gurren Lagann's ending= OVER 9,000 sads Also, WOW, ending D bares a lot of similarity to The Steins;Gate movie sequel.
I am so confused. I got to the end of the video and I have no idea who saved those two characters. I watched it over again, and the savior was a guy named Lucky Ted?? Who the hell is that???? Why did I never see him this whole LP?!
For those who want the sword stories look up The Dark Id's lp of Nier, it's very in depth and very good, arguably better than this one; but be forewarned, it's screenshot based with text dialogue and commenting, I still suggest giving it the college try before deciding if you want to watch it.
This has easily been one of my favorite playthroughs on the channel. From the commentary to the way it was handled (skipping grinding and showing the different endings). Nier seemed like a good game, but I didn't have a PS3 when it came out and the reviews weren't so great. It just fell off my radar, but I was able to enjoy it through Pat and Liam. I'm looking forward to actually playing the sequel.
Wow this game was amazing! I love how as you leveled Kaine up more and more, it was easy to get all 3 endings. Something that always bugged me was it always felt kinda lonely with just you and Emil. But it was quite effective when Emil disappeared leaving just you.
I'll be honest. There were a bunch of parts early on when I used them as mostly background noise. Wasn't really into this game. Then the story picked up and I got really into it. The voice acting was the toppest of tiers. A lot of emotions felt. I kind of hate to have it end really. I loved the ride but probably wouldn't have like being the driver. 8.5/10
Leave it to these scrubs to have a 33 part LP of literally nothing. It reminds me of that thing Matt and Woolie did. You know the one with the fight games or something.
And that's why all the other lucky teds are so lucky; the one unlucky lucky ted was so unlucky, he got erased from existance, taking all of his bad luck with him.
Oh boy, it's over! What a rough LP, but I'm glad we got the chance to experience such a unique game. I wasn't a big fan of all the jump cuts, but I understand why it was done. I think I'll be giving this game my own run through.
Zess the book has the fifth ending where Kaine literally drags nier back into existence with the help of a four armed Emil, a spirit Weiss, and the memory tree
Of note is there is an Ending E in Grimoire Nier, which follows up after D. Kaine visits the Memory Tree in the Forest, and meets some form of Nier/Lucky Ted, because despite his existence being erased, the Tree still contained some memories of him from when he helped earlier in the game. Also, another interesting thing, is that there's heavy implications (and confirmation out of game iirc) that Kaine is actually intersex! That's the reason she was treated so horribly in the Aerie, why she was a "monster." This turns out to have been a bit of a manufacturing error with her Gestalt, however, and she is Female after Nier/Lucky Ted makes her human again.
Welp, the end of these puns are finally hieeeuuuuuuugh.......... Ugh, whuh happun? Wait, this isn't JoJo. Not even a video here; aw fuck, did Liam mess the schedule again? Dammit, Liam!
So have you guys ever jumbled up the letters and noticed that NieR can also be reorganized as RIEN? I find that kind of appropriate now. Rien being French for "nothing" and all... That's kind of a stretch, but IF that was intentional (and maybe it could because Japan used to be obsessed with French words), then damn...
Yep, that's true. But what made me think about changing up the letters was the spelling of the title on the japanese version: NieR. At first I thought it read "rien" backwards, which is totally wrong, BUT then I was like "huh, wait a minute..."
you know what's my favorite thing about taro's games? I heard the first thing he writes is the ending. imagine the other places the game could have gone!
And now the Best Friends complete the story by deleting all the Nier videos and censoring any past references to the LP.
Oh that would be amazing.
It would be the greatest work in LP history.
Delete Lucky Ted
Now interesting little note; if they tried to enter in the name "Lucky Ted" for a new game; the game wouldnt accept it.
and if they tried it 2 more times it would microwave the disk inside the console.
I'm so fucking pissed Liam didn't have him try that. That's a super huge fucking deal. It means that he wasn't exactly erased, but nullified. He (Lucky Ted) is no longer allowed to exist in any form in Nier. Maybe that'll come up in Automata, who knows?

The more I learn about this ending, the more I grow to hate this game and never want to play it.

Hopefully this LP taught you how much a good story can do for your game but most importantly I hope you've learned that muffins are cakes.
"There's a better order for the two."
That's one hell of a fucking understatement.
Our reward for enduring the sadness of yesterday is more sadness. Yay.

Lucky Ted. Why does that name sound familiar?
RIP "Lucky" Ted Nierman
I would say "We'll never forget you", but....ya know...

Like we just pressed start and watched a 5 min animation with a girl and a futa, then get the credits. What a ripoff!

And so Nierman's story draws to a close.
*DO YOU FEEL LUCKY YET, TED?*
+Tim G Just read that shit, god damn...
Tree baby neir is back and ready for action!
***** not baby. He's shota niermen. Now futa-Kaine x shota-nier is canon.
+Tim G *tree-babster shota neirmen

........Dude.......who the fuck are you talking about?
Something interesting: If you immediately try to make a new game with your previous character's name (Lucky Ted in this case) after Ending D, it tells you that it is impossible. I believe after restarting the system it will allow you, but that may be a bug.
Yeah I wish they went through and tried that to show it off, but ah well.
Nope! It's an actual feature of the game! I know there are some way to circumvent this, but I haven't tried them :>
+Sweet Chocolate I think he's talking about being able to restart the system and reuse the name, not that it stops you
SoulParagon Ah, I see
And thus, Lucky Ted was consigned to the void. He can watch all the Fighterpedia he wants there...
Who??? And what's Fighterpedia?
He's hanging out with Gilgamesh over at the void
at least until he's reborn into a much younger form by the memory tree in ending E in response to the tree sensing Kaine's sorrow.
The pain is over.
We are free now.
You know, Kainé, we truly are NieR Gestalt.
I wish Liam brought up that Weiss and Noir were humans somewhere in this playthrougn
I also wish Liam knew the lore. But I guess we can read all about it in the book Grimwoir Noir. Which totally exits and totally isn't actually called Grmwoir Nier. Thanks Liam. You da best.
what.
This series is weird.

Thanks for that.
thanks for clearing that up
So, how are humans alive in Nier Autoamata again? Since the plot states that humans fled to the moon and they are sending robots to take earth back.
That's my current guess anyway.
chaos396 It's probably gonna turn out they're all dead or AM's taken over the moon or something.
And now I want Emil to blow up the moon.
Tale of Kaine's great ass comes to a close...
...Oh and Lucky Ted too I guess.
Lucky who? Never heard of him.
Who's Lucky Ted?
That name sounds oddly familiar, but I can't quite remember it. I guess time is convoluted, lost annals of time, Anor Londo etc. etc.
Dark Souls 3, apparently this game is connected with it, i don't know how though, zaibatsu fucked up and uploaded final part first
What's a Lucky Ted? Is that some kind of flower?
Imagine if the game went "Deleting PS Plus uploaded save data" lol
Fun fact
If you try to start a new game with the same character name, it won't let you saying "this person does not exist".
The First Drakengard game has progressively worse endings.
farewell, theodore nierman. we hardly knew ye
whoooo?!?
Literally... Who was he again?
We didn't knew him at all, it's like he never existed
Retro Zombie oh we gotta bad ass over here. Everybody hide yo kids cuz this trolls gonna kill ha with all that....EDGE
Yo, Retro. The Age of EDGE ended a while ago, so you can fuck off now. You won't be missed.
All this lore sounded real good until that last bit. Thats fucking bullshit.
Thanatos388 which part? The everyone goes to heaven or the "nope nierman comes back from the dead in a shadow of the collosus style fashion?"
*collapses to knees*
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Side note: this guy named Clemps has done really detailed videos on all 3 Drakengard games.
Clemps is great
He really does a fabulous job of explaining and critiquing all 3 (as well as be humorous). Real great channel, very under appreciated as well. EDIT: Finding the Plot also does an excellent job of explaining it. The channel is pretty dead, but still worth a look.
I'll miss you, ░░░░░ ░░░. You were a good man. From your perspective...
Red Sparrow the good man in the wrong place at the wrong time...
This series is weird.
The Melancholy of Lucky Tedzumia
Didja tell pat about the unreleased ending E that was detailed in Grimoire Nier?
You should.
Damn, that ending is classy. That Lunar Tear on the title screen really does it.
Ending B- Emil: "Gee, I'm sure glad I survived! I can't wait until I can see Kaine and the others again! They must be so happy that they saved Yonah...."
Ending C/D-
.................. FFFFFFFFFffffffffffffffffffffffff........................ YEAH, good luck with that, kid! GOOD FUCKIN' LUCK!!!
dracocrusher its confirmed that hes been alive for so long in automata he doesn't remember anything from the first game
+crazygamer4260
That seems kind-of unrelated, but it's still a cool detail.
This is probably the weirdest playthrough ever. No main character in this game?
"I can't be bothered look after my sister anymore so I'll erase myself."
I find that out of character. Granted, the Japanese script might be very different.
The impression I got from Ending D is that Nier can't bare to lose another friend. He would do anything to protect those he loves, which I believe he states when fighting Shadowfax.
Maybe Taro's trolling, but who knows with that guy?
PolarPhantom
Brother Nier is a VERY different character than Father Nier and the script reflects this.
Basically Nier is kinda Caim in some way
and thus ends the greatest LP of all, now I have to go watch deadly p again to feel better
Man, was this a really weird series. Just Liam and Pat talking about quick breads for half an hour every video, for what? 33 half-hour videos about cakes and muffins and breads that are quick.
They could have at least played a game or something.
Fucking fantastic ending. I'm a total Yoko Taro convert, thanks guys.
In the end, Kaine is truly waifu for laifu.
Why isn't there any fan art of Kaine wearing Erica's waitress uniform?
With the butt cut out.
+The Pickles You cheeky can.
And vice versa. A hero needs to step up to this task.
i dont care if she has a massive dick
Coming back to this LP after completing Nier Automata and hearing how right or wrong Liam and Pat's predictions were is great.
Lucky enough for Ted to somehow able to skewer Kaine off the ground and into his arms
It looks a lot less silly if you stab her with a sword. Unless it's Iron Will, then it just looks like you've impaled her with a surfboard.
Should have used the Iron Pipe.
My phone rang right when Kaine died... my ring tone is "Another One Bites the Dust"... I feel bad
So Lucky Ted is just Hulk Hogan now, right?
Who and who?
Worse, he's Benoit.
Who?
Loaf Of Deceit
What a benwa?
RippahRooJizah Who are we talking about?
I watched 33 parts of nothing. Best Seinfeld play-through ever.
Absolutely.
Finally this Kingdom Hearts playthrough is over.
Kingdom Tripe wishes it was this good.
Now, now, kids. Both franchises are good. Okay? Okay.
Kingdom Hearts is a waay better video game than Nier. With a much more fluid and fun combat system. But Nier is obviously more interesting in other ways.
ruger singh i'd say KH is the kind of game that I'd like to play, but NieR is the kind of game that I'd like to finish.
I am very thankful for you two so I could enjoy this game how it was meant to be enjoyed, by watching someone else suffer.
Fun fact for nier after ending D if you dont delete the system data the game will not allow you to start a new game using the same name you used before
Oh shit, Tyrann has the same voice actor as Shinji Ikari, no wonder he sounded so familiar lol
Oh shit, so Lucky Ted is Madoka. Except Madoka didn't murder tons of innocent people.
There's actually an ending E told in Grimoire Nier. Read up on it if you want, it's a direct continuation of ending D and is just as canon as this.
Also, Gurren Lagann's ending= OVER 9,000 sads
Also, WOW, ending D bares a lot of similarity to The Steins;Gate movie sequel.
Could you imagine how cool it would be just... Stumbling onto all of these endings on repeat play through's? That would be so fucking cool.
I am so confused. I got to the end of the video and I have no idea who saved those two characters. I watched it over again, and the savior was a guy named Lucky Ted?? Who the hell is that???? Why did I never see him this whole LP?!
24:03
Clemps flexing his yellow gloves
The journey of a soulless asshole ruining people's lives will never truly end... as long as Pat is around.
I got a little teary eyed. This was an amazing ride, guys, thanks for sharing the experience with us!
It's worth watching the fight of the absolute final boss of Drakengard 3. The final ending, final boss.
THE RINGS
I HEAR A SOUND
Wow this game was amazing! I love how as you leveled Kaine up more and more, it was easy to get all 3 endings. Something that always bugged me was it always felt kinda lonely with just you and Emil. But it was quite effective when Emil disappeared leaving just you.
Now if they tried to start a new game with Lucky Ted they wouldn't be able to, the game will say that name can't be used.
My stand ZA HANDO scrapes away space and brings the two ends together, AS IF IT NEVER EXISTED!
now we can get more jojo
Probably my most favorite LP by you guys so far.I am probably biased because I really love NieR though. Kinda sad to see it end! Thanks guys!
Yes I do greatly appreciate you guys playing this game for Automata. I hope Nier somehow shows up in the sequel.
Someone tell Pat to read The Dark Id's LPs of the Drakengards.
This, wholeheartedly. I think everyone should take his version of Caim as ultimately canon.
Caim and crew on their murder road trip? Hell yeah!
I thought that was the de facto version of Caim. He just couldn't speak, making it hard to get his lust for murder across.
S i thought his pathological need to murder everyone came through very well, mute or not. I think that piles of corpses helps get his message across.
Lucky Ted, you've created a time paradox!
Alternatively: Puella Magi Nier/Lucky Ted Magica.
Leave it to these scrubs to have a 33 part LP of literally nothing. It reminds me of that thing Matt and Woolie did. You know the one with the fight games or something.
13:39 you missed a pun with Emil "heading" off to find his friends! XD
someone should show stamper the ending D so he'll finally understand what "Meta" means
And that's why all the other lucky teds are so lucky; the one unlucky lucky ted was so unlucky, he got erased from existance, taking all of his bad luck with him.
Now you have to LP Drakengard 3
Oh boy, it's over! What a rough LP, but I'm glad we got the chance to experience such a unique game. I wasn't a big fan of all the jump cuts, but I understand why it was done. I think I'll be giving this game my own run through.
Wooo futa Kaine on Yonah action!
Ending F(uta).
nah ending E in grimour nier has Kaine bringing nier back from the dead only he's like 10
Futaxloli
Futa x Shota
what
Clemps did a great series of videos on the Drakengard games.
Huh, I guess at least it makes sense that you need to get 100% weapons to get the final ending
what's funny is that technically it's not even the final ending.
you talking about how there's some other stuff in the book, or something else?
Zess the book has the fifth ending where Kaine literally drags nier back into existence with the help of a four armed Emil, a spirit Weiss, and the memory tree
Literally all the heroes are kinda back.
Also, Aliens.
Aliens? I haven't heard anything about aliens except at some point humanity went to colonize Mars in-between that 8000 yr time gap
So is this what happened to Fighterpedia?
It was to remove the Woolie Hole from Liam.
Man, just finally watching the end of this and it's like... fuck, goodbye Lucky Ted. It's been one hell of a ride.
Welp, the end of these puns are finally hieeeuuuuuuugh..........
Ugh, whuh happun? Wait, this isn't JoJo. Not even a video here; aw fuck, did Liam mess the schedule again? Dammit, Liam!
i really like the detail, that after you choose ending D the game won't let you start a new game with the same character name.
who let these guys nier me
It's like a whole playthrough of Chris Benoit.
Well we went the whole game without Pat seeming to get it, but in a number of angles here you can also clearly see the bulge on Kaine btw.
Broken Matt is super happy with this ending for BROTHER NIERO
Just do an LP of drakengard 3.
THANKS FOR THE PLAYTHROUGH!! I would never have the patience to finish 3 times to see all the content!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I heard the word NieR is French for "To deny".
Crap.
Yep, that's true. But what made me think about changing up the letters was the spelling of the title on the japanese version: NieR.
At first I thought it read "rien" backwards, which is totally wrong, BUT then I was like "huh, wait a minute..."
I was also wondering about the weird R.
It gets under my skin thinking about it.
Nier's also Swedish (?) for kidney.
***** My god.
The deepest lore.
you know what's my favorite thing about taro's games? I heard the first thing he writes is the ending. imagine the other places the game could have gone!
