- If the Book of Mormon is true and is such an important book in God's work, wouldn't it be mentioned in the Bible? And wouldn't Joseph Smith- the one who translated the Book of Mormon- also be mentioned in the Bible? You may be surprised to find the answer.
In this video, we explore the question of whether Joseph Smith, the founder of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church), is mentioned in the Bible. We'll delve into various scriptures and interpretations to understand how some believe biblical prophecies may refer to him.

Wow the comments here are sad, thank you for putting this out there. Only eyes to see and ears to hear will benefit from the Book of Mormon.
Sorry for the comments but we all need to vent our feelings and frustrations. They are alright, they just need some time to let these things work in their souls. Thanks for writing.
I see alot of Joseph Smith hate that's not new all of Christ Prophets & Apostles were treated the same in their day wicked man killed them too the test remains for the unbelievers to pray to know the truth for themselves I know for myself that indeed he was a true and faithful servant of God the fruits of the Gospel still flourish the light that every member carries shines bright in this dark and dreary world
The prophets and apostles where treated badly and many killed as martyrs, that's true...but Joseph Smith went out guns blazing. Doesn't compare at all to early Christians.
Blind leading the blind, that's what this is.
Thank you for this!
And thank you for watching.
Isaiah 54:16 " I have created the SMITH that bloweth the COALS in the FIRE, and that bringeth forth an INSTRUMENT for His WORK. Joseph Smith"s last name is taken from the English word Smithe or BLACKSMITH because he was of English descent. The Book of Mormon was the INSTRUMENT brought forth among other books. The symbolism of blowing the coals of the fire is stoking up the Spirit of revelation.
That verse grabbed me the very first time I saw it. How can someone not SEE??? Oh...I also love Isaiah 29!
Eph 4:11-13 And he gave some, apostles; & some, prophets; (until when?) Till we all come in the unity of the faith, & of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:(Hasn’t happened yet, we still need prophets and apostles :). Thank you for this wonderful video. One of many examples of the restoration prophecies in the Bible.
Thank you. We still need President Nelsons.
Wow great work thanks !
I love your videos. Keep them coming. 😀
Thanks for the thought. We'll try.
This was done absolutely wonderful.
And this is just one of many prophecies about the restoration of Christ’s church in the Bible as outlined and described in Ephesians :)
If you don't have the spirit of God you will not understand and you will misinterpret it like you are doing
In the Isaiah refrence the book is clearly a metaphor indicated by the use of "as".
Isaiah is written in Hebrew, it doesn't say "as," they didn't have grammatical rules for similes like English does. Also "book" here means scroll. You will notice that neither the gold plates nor the Book of Mormon are scrolls. And it's clear that the object in question still has a lot of writing on it, seeing how its significance lies in the two people's ability to read it.
I know Joseph Smith is true prophet of God !
It is by grace that we are saved,
Thank you.. That is so true. In the sealed book several of the prophets emphasized that point.
Please read on page 72 where the prophet Jacob states, "it (the grace of Christ) must be an infinite atonement. Save it should be an infinite atonement this corruption could not put on incorruption." Over and over the prophets in the Book of Mormon teach that the atonement of Christ is the only power that can overcome the fall of Adam and the sins of the world." Wonderful point!
Everyone knows this... who doesn't teach this? We LDS know this.
Yes! Joseph Smith, The Book of Mormon, and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints agree with you.
Well said, old man!
For me, this is another poignant example of how marvelously and intriguingly ambiguous religious texts and traditions are. Through their beautiful and mystic metaphors and their poetic sketchings, one can find signs and prophetic references for anything and anyone we deem significant. The same passages can be used to signal the coming of Jesus, Mohamed, Joseph Smith, and more. The same passages can be applied to the past can equally be applied to the present.
Yes, I am disagreeing with every interpretation imposed upon these texts, but at the same time, I do marvel at their allure and timeless application.
Believe as you will. I don't have to judge you nor would I even want to.
isaiah 54 v 16-17
Is'nt the sealed book the one thats talked about in revelation 5? Which can only be opened by the lamb?
No, the scroll with the seven seals contains the history of the world, each seal being opened corresponds to the beginning of each of the 7 different ages, with the seventh being opened at the beginning of the last days. The book in Isaiah is delivered to two men to read and it brings about a marvelous work among the children of men. There is some overlap, but the books are clearly different.
@@KnuttyEntertainmentso the four horsemen are four of the ages?
@@mosesje I know less about the four horsemen, but I think they represent four calamities that happen in the last day: war, famine, plague, and death.
@@KnuttyEntertainment But the are the first four of the seven seals that are opened by the lamb
Very interesting, thanks for sharing!
AMEN
Amazing information. Thank you sir
And thank you for watching.
Isaiah 22: 23
It Jesus means Yah saves.
The test of a prophet is found in Deuteronomy 18:20-22, Matthew 7:15, Matthew 24:24, Jeremiah 14:14
Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you heard was coming and now is in the world already. Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. They are from the world; therefore they speak from the world, and the world listens to them (1John 4:1-6)
Joseph Smith is a false prophet. The Bible, not the book of Mormons sets the standards for who is a prophet and who is not. The book of Mormons has been proven as historically false and its a fake religious text. Biblical events took place in the in the Middle East and the surrounding area.
Jeremiah 23:16 Thus says the Lord of hosts: “Do not listen to the words of the prophets who prophesy to you, filling you with vain hopes. They speak visions of their own minds, not from the mouth of the Lord.
READ GENESIS 49:22-26 THE BLESSINGS OF JOSEPH SON OF JACOP BUT HE WASNOT ( SHOT) BUT HIS FRUITS JOSEPH SMITH BEING ( SHOT) READ THE WHOLE BIBLE ITS IN THERE
I witness that this video is true and of God and of significance, I do it in the name of jesus christ. Thank you for it.
The easy answer is no.
If the Bible mentions false prophets, then where on earth are true prophets?
Matthew 24, 1- 24
Jesus was the last prophet to listen to.
@@johncunningham739 ` Prophet, Priest, and King!!! and God of course!😇
All through the Old Testament ... such as Daniel, Hosea, Ezekiel, Ezra, Jonah, Isaiah and several others. Once Jesus the Messiah came to fulfill everything, no more prophets were needed. There are MANY false prophets who think they are ministers of God, but do not know Him. examples includes Ken Hagin, Kenneth Copeland, Benny Hinn, Joel Osteen, Rob Bell, C. Peter Wagner, Bill Johnson, to name but a Tiny Few.
Saying that God no longer speaks through his chosen prophets, would not make him the same yesterday, today and forever and is an apostate understanding to put such limits on God, just because it doesn’t fit a man made mold of Him.
How do you explain his prophets and apostles that were to lead the church after Christ? Did they not prophecy after Christ’s death? Are we not to listen to them then and exclude those parts of the Bible?
Why in the world would you think this is talking about js?
I respect how shocking this may appear to be. Let me give you several thoughts. In this chapter Isaiah mentions a marvelous work that will someday come about. He mentions the book and that it was sealed. He mentions a man who would take words of the book to a learned man and Martin Harris testified that he did that. Isaiah foretold that the learned man would receive him and speak with him. Professor Anthon testified that the man come to him and spoke with him with words from the book. Isaiah foretold that the learned man would say that he couldn't read a sealed book. Professor Anthon and Martin Harris testified that discussion did occur. Isaiah foretold that the sealed book itself would be delivered to an unlearned man (lo yoda sefer) and Joseph Smith was an unlearned man who received the book. Isaiah foretold the God Himself would do his own book and read the book which he did, to and through the unlearned man Joseph. Isaiah foretold that a marvelous work and a wonder would come about through this process. Of over twenty-million books written and published in the United States the sealed book stands alone above all other such published books. These are just a few of the beginning reasons why I think this is what he was talking about. But there is much more and please know that I respect you and appreciate your question.
@@WadeBrown-df9pl Friend, just think for a moment. If you were not pressing your Mormon worldview on to this passage, you would NEVER come to this conclusion. In fact, why is that passage not speaking of Muhammad? It is the same story, just 1200 years earlier.
@@christophercowan1645 Because the Quran wasn't given to the best scholar of the day who replied "I can't read a sealed book." The characters on the Gold Plates were given to the top scholar around, and he said word for word "I cannot read a sealed book" and then Joseph Smith did read it despite being unlearned. The same chapter also talks about voices speaking from the dust, and that's what the Gold Plates are, it's the testimony of dead men that was buried in the ground. The chapter also talks about the great apostasy, how the word of the Lord would not be found on the earth. It just fits perfectly. The only reason you wouldn't think it fulfills the prophecy is either because you don't know the story or because you have some other reason to not believe Joseph Smith so you rule it out regardless of how well it fits.
@@KnuttyEntertainment Knutty, how do you know? No one has seen this sealed book to verify its content. Everything you said is rooted in blind faith.
@@christophercowan1645 No one has seen the book talked about in Isaiah? That's because it's a prophecy about the future. If the book has been seen that means the prophecy is fulfilled, and the gold plates fit the bill.
I understand not believing it, it's not extra the most difficult prophecy to fulfill, and I get why you would want to have other evidence before accepting the Book of Mormon, but you can't deny that regardless of what you think of the Book of Mormon, the shoe fits.
Reminds me of muhammed
Yes, there are similar factors within the two account.
Jesus Christ is beyond compare and the Book of Mormon is an amazing additional testament of Him. I have gone through the Standard Works, with my cousin, with the express intent of finding every name/title for Jesus Christ. We think we are done at 459, but still occasionally discover a new one.
I don't wish to accuse you of malice. But not only are you taking the verse out of context. You're taking the a single sentence out of context. It's unbelievable how you twist one sentence.
KJV
15Woe unto them that seek deep to hide their counsel from the LORD, and their works are in the dark, and they say, Who seeth us? and who knoweth us?
16Surely your turning of things upside down shall be esteemed as the potter's clay: for shall the work say of him that made it, He made me not? or shall the thing framed say of him that framed it, He had no understanding?
ESV
15Ah, you who hide deep from the LORD your counsel,
whose deeds are in the dark,
and who say, “Who sees us? Who knows us?”
16You turn things upside down!
Shall the potter be regarded as the clay,
that the thing made should say of its maker,
“He did not make me”;
or the thing formed say of him who formed it,
“He has no understanding”?
This short video is a testament to the ability of people to believe anything they wish to believe.
Dear Tobir, I feel badly that this is such an offensive and irritation to your soul. I respect you and the position you are in in this regard. You need to know that this isn't just my opinion about the meaning of Isaiah's prophecy. In the writings of Nephi within the Book of Mormon itself that great prophet provided additional context to the meaning and importance of Isaiah's words. If I wee alone in this regard it would be alright but my words merely reflect the words of the servants of God. At any rate I am grateful that you took the time you hear the video and promise you there are hundreds more points such as this one that indicate the scripture is true and a gift to the world. Please forgive my inability to express these things in a better way. God bless you.
@@WadeBrown-df9pl Your proof that Isaiah was writing about joseph smith, is.... the writings of joseph smith.
Do you not see the circular logic? You're just saying that:
"The book of mormon is correct because the book of mormon says so"
By that logic I should also believe the muslims. Because according to the muslims, the quaran is correct because the quaran says so.
Dear Sir. I hope that you can see just massively erroneous this is.
Absolutely not.
Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves.
Yes, now what does that passage say about how we determine if prophets are true or false? By their fruits. And what are Joseph Smith's fruits? The Book of Mormon, the most Christ-centered book of earth. There's also his over 400 fulfilled prophecies, his dozens of miracles, the numerous peaceful, prosperous, and beautiful cities he built, including two temples to the LORD. The light of heaven reflected in his followers, the Latter-day Saints who had the seeds of the gospel planted in their hearts because of him.
Dear Knutty, that is a beautiful commment.

Read, then do, James 1:5 - 6.
The old testament god is not the father of Jesus and the old testament is not the word of God but the word of man, the word of God is Matthew Mark Luke and John?
The Old testament God Jehovah is Jesus Christ. Why are you denying that the Old testament is the word of God. It's written to his covenant people the Jews. Did Peter James John Mathews and others have the New Testament no not even Jesus Christ. They had the old testament and countless times in the New Testament Jesus teaches from the Old Testament. If it wasn't the word of God why use it?
The new testament was also written by man. Peter was a man, Matthew has a man and every person who wrote it was a man. They were Holy. Old Testament was written by Prophets of old who were just like the Apostles in the New Testament
Yeah it does, ie false prophets no need to watch the video since the man was a blasphemer.
No he wasn't.
The only reason why you think he was a blasphemer is because you have heard one piece of misinformation about him saying he was a blasphemer, and you refused to look at all of the evidence for why he actually was a prophet of God. You said yourself that you won’t watch the video, which further proves my point that you have confirmation bias against him.
Why dont you believe what Jesus said in Matthew 7: 15-20? ..where He explains the correct way to discern prophets?
The fruit IS sweet and abundant! Come and join all of the happy people on the holy highway, the covenant path of Isaiah 35!
Holy is only what God makes Holy. The Bible is Holy". The Book of Mormon isn't Holy. So whatever is in the Book of Mormon isn't inspired by God. The same can be said for the Quaran and the Jehovah's Witnesses New New World Translation. "NWT"
How do you know that the Book of Mormon isn't Holy?
@@Andrewnapicture Because God only made one Holy Book, that Book is the Holy Bible. The Book of Mormon, the Quran, and other so-called holy books, are declared holy by men. Holy is what God makes Holy, not what men call holy.
@@benjaminfalzon4622where in The Bible does it say there is *_only one_* holy book?
@@rconger24 There are many Holy books, but only the Holy Bible is made Holy by God. The rest of the so-called Holy books are made Holy by the devil.
And your proof is... How do you know that God only made the Bible Holy? The Bible is a collection of books compiled together. Meaning multiple books being put together. If you believe in one Holy book then which book of the Bible is the only true book and the rest are Satan.
