    The hvac industry uses vav's for variable air volume boxes to control the temperature in a space.
    I like your video's bust the music is slightly distracting. Just my opinion. Thanks

    "And" is not always a connector. It is more often used, also, as if adding Ha! or A or I pertaining to God or the DNA of God and the matter of the subject in the phrase. Does that help?

    The Book of Mormon is truly a miracle from God. I don't understand how any honest seeker of truth can deny it and attack it without honestly attempting to account for what it actually is and where it came from, if not from God through the prophet Joseph Smith.

      I've wondered the same thing, most especially the thousands of universal truths in the book that are not expressed in such a significant way in any other text.

      Just the instances of Chiasmus is sufficient proof in my eyes.

    Well, this analysis raises some questions. Isaiah in particular is copied almost verbatim from the OT to the BOM, so have you adjusted the frequency of Isaiah (and other quotes for Jeremiah, etc) out of your calculation, and does that then change the overall frequency of the "and" word in the final text? Secondly, does the frequency of "and" vary or change throughout the 1000 years covered by the BOM, indicating a shift in language through time amongst the Nephites? This is important because as you know English has radically changed in the past 500 hundred years, so much so that a modern English speaker would have great difficulty understanding Shakespearean middle English, let along old English (which would be incomprehensible to a modern speaker). Do we see any of this language shift in the BOM? If not, why not? Third, are there any other connective words or word patterns unique to 600 BC expressed throughout the BOM, as the example you cite here?

      Great question that I have mulled over for many years. Isaiah was the great prophetic hero to Book of Mormon authors. He is quoted extensively in many portions of the Nephite record. However, the use of "and" or its equivalent is so close to Nephite authors that it has little effect on the overall count. If the Isaiah count were radically different it would have an obvious impact. Overall, Isaiah quotations are a relatively small part of the overall text. Good thinking!

      Good questions. Yes, there is some variation between centuries in the Book of Mormon just as there are in the Old Testament, possibly because of the difference in sound and emphasis mentioned in the video. Yes, yes, yes- there are examples of connective words such as "the" and "of" but they are also more affected by context such as narrative and preachment. There is no end to the study.

    About fifteen years ago I had a long drive between work and home and while driving I listened to the scriptures as I drove. One day I finished the Book of Mormon and put in the first tape for the Doctrine and Covenants. It was the same speaker but the cadence of the words were so different that it was jarring to me.

    I see the “and’s” quite a bit in the book, but the first line of Nephi’s writing in his summary, he mentions his parents and his brothers, but does it in a modern English way, did Joseph’s scribe take some liberty and “fix it” right away or is that line an anomaly to the Hebrew text?

      I've long noted the lesser number of "and's" in the summary or introductory statement at the beginning of the Book of First Nephi but have no explanation for it. I like to believe that it was a natural expression by Nephi demanding brevity but I don't know.

    Can you play the violin in one of your videos?

    • @fingerprintsoneverypage
      @fingerprintsoneverypage  5 місяців тому

      That's so funny. I was going to record some background music with our granddaughter who plays violin too and Marian said don't bother. She said at this age I'm ok with hoedowns but anything I play sounds like a hoedown. So I'm going to ask that granddaughter to play alone for it. It would be funny if it wasn''t so hurtful. But she is right. But I'm not to use a yo-yo.

      No. Since this study in the early 1970s others have published papers on certain word frequencies but without reference to historic background causes. They were more strictly mathematic studies without consideration of causative factors but very fine work. My poor mind always asks why variances exist
