    Great video, k-rend is excellent when it’s first done that’s why it’s used for property developers, no having to wait for rendering to dry before painting , k-rend scaffolding down property on the market, it basically external artex people will hate it, thanks pete

      Just has to be done correctly and the right products he has used the scrape horizontally a big no, and his house is also a silicone render just a different type. His house is done in the thin coat one

    I had my house rendered in k rend based on the no maintenance sales BS from tradesmen. It discolours and cracks easily so about to get the cracks repaired and paint the whole lot with Emporer Resin paint that absolutely repels water and has a long guarantee

    How can an open textured finish like K Rend stay clean A plainface sand cement finish with a good quality masonry paint is far superior and is so easy to clean I am a 77 year old retired plasterer and have done thousands of metres of this type of finish so l think l can vouch for it The problem is are there any tradesmen left who know how to do this type of work as it involves more skill

    Like it also says not no maintenance it’s low maintenance I am a Krend registered applicator and there is a number of things I would always advise to get around these things it also says that it shouldn’t be left with water able to get stand on it there is also another product called a Krend colour enhancer which will stop water getting in to it just like your ordinary render that is painted

    It’s lime based, so it’s actually breathable,I’ve used it for years brilliant finish, as some of the comments have said use a sealer, if you’re not happy with it 👍🏻😁

      Cheers thanks for the comment. Would have 100 percent done that from the start but it was sold that it would repell water and it didn’t say that it would need sealing.

    i did my full house in silicone render and 4 year later its immaculate why ? because i sealed it with 2 coats of silicone sealer. which 90% of leople dont do because its expensive. best product ive used and am builder. maintaining the exterior of your home isnt a bad think.

    solution for you...after 10-15 years you can either paint it or apply a sillicone finish (1.5mm grain - whatever colour you want, water repellent)...but will still get dirty over time so you'll still have to maintain it a bit. Conclusion, nothing lasts forever...you have to maintain stuff!

  • @jjjleeky

    Krend gets really dirty if you live next to main rds, it holds onto car pollutants and can discolour . Seen it many times. But no product is perfect.cement render cracks more over time. So I always recommend mesh

    Two coats of k pro sealer would help but monocouche is not a good render.

    External renders are not to be used horizontally facing the elements. Also the ‘normal render’ he is talking about is also Silicone Render just the thin type product. Both K-Rend sell so complementing them at the same time 😂 and also the seats that you’ve rendered incorrectly.. isn’t even the silicone K1 by the looks of it haha they have a glint in the render to identify it from the cheap rubbish stuff. Sounds like you’ve been had by a tradesman - Christ if your gonna review a product at least know what your talking about 😂😂

      @@thep0ndman you used their scrape texture monocouche for rendering garden walls and seating it’s the same with Weber and the others, the water has no where to go and no way to run away. Your using the render incorrectly

      all you have to do and take a drive round mate and you’ll see lots of houses (especially new builds) with the same render absolutely filthy and full of algae. You even buy an k rend algae cleaner you are meant to use once per year. No thanks

  • @Danny-ql2ep
    @Danny-ql2ep Рік тому

    So Krend is a Brand you have used monouche render. Which is widely known for algae growth any renderer will tell you this. And normal sand cement render can get algae growth too but it’s not as prone. Everything has its pros and cons your sand cement render on your new build will likely crack with movement thin coat render will be less likely, monouche isn’t the best choice of render for garden walls and garden seating.
