  • The Old ways of rendering is slow and unreliable. This modern guide to will show you a faster, more efficient way to render walls. We’re ditching sand cement render and getting rid of old tools.
I’ll show you a better process for rendering where we’re using better materials, better tools and a totally different process. If you’re serious about rendering then I think you’ll love this video.

If you lay it on too thick it’ll be too heavy and it’ll start to sag. This can lead to a wavy effect in the finished product. It’s just easier to do two or three thin coats.

Is this something you could try to see how well it works? Painting is good but needs to be redone and the titanium dioxide apparently is self cleaning when in contact with air and water. Would be interested to see what you think. Thanks

I have a few questions regarding rendering 3 block pillars =. The pillars were sound until a small machine cause damage to the render whilst driveway being altered. Anyway, we decided to hack all the render off all three pillars that had been in place for 20+ years. So, as it stands the pillars are now back to bare block with caps removed. They have been like this, exposed to the elements for around 6 months. Now we are ready to render them do they need to be wrapped in plastic/polythene for a few days so as to dry out before rendering starts? My father insists they do but I am unsure?! Any advice would be appreciated.

If you're using cement render you need the blocks to be damp but not dripping wet. If the blocks are too dry they will suck the water out of the cement meaning it won't cure(hydrate) as well.

@@johnbennett5591 Thankyou for the prompt reply! A couple of fine days and will be making a start on them. I have a spray pump on hand to use if the blocks get to dry. Cheers

KZP is a cracking product to be fair. I really liked using it. OCR is quite a fast Setting product which what I like about - not tried it in the height of summer yet though. That could change things ha!

Blain your a top guy, thank you for sharing this, however ! would you please wear a cheap mask when mixing.
The dust/powder will get into your lungs over time, no job is worth giving up your health for.
