Dr Mobius "We've secured the target, let's get out before this filthy soldier awakens." "Frank what the fuck are you doing?!" "These are some great aviators! Nuclear winter just ended so the sun's a comin!"
This is something that I actually realized when I watched this video. Boone never told anyone that he knew what happened to Carla, so how did Jeannie come to the conclusion that Boone thought his wife was kidnapped? It just shows she knew more than what she's letting on, and it actually amazes me that the writers of this game would be so clever to put in contradictions in a liar's story that you really have to pay attention and think before the ultimate reveal was shown, like a detective. Honestly I would love to know how Nick Valentine would deal with this scenario.
They also have red herrings in the story. You have Manny, who is very open about his hatred of her and you have No-Bark who is insane so who knows what he is capable of, you have to actually notice the small things to really notice who it was. Besides what you said and what No-Bark explains, another thing to note is she is VERY prideful about Novac. If you insult the place she is very offended by this, and gets very aggressive. This shows us that anyone who disrespects her town earns her scorn. Carla did that a lot, so besides Manny, Jennie would have a bone to pick with Carla too. So you could see either of them being responsible, No-Bark, while insane, does not have the mental faculties to set up such a thing. So you look at the facts. They both hate her and would want her to be gone...except Manny is former NCR, no way is he making a deal with the Legion, I doubt the Legion would even make a deal with NCR, former or otherwise. Its unlikely regardless of motive, so the only likely target is Jennie. She hates anyone who disrespects her town, she hates Carla, and No-Bark, while rambling, still notably mentions a location that she frequents. Its not the most complicated mystery but its still well crafted, you have at least two subjects and even No-Bark spelling it out for you isn't clear cut because the dude is talking about Mole Rat people, he could be delusional about every part of the story. Its a good plot, they did a good job.
Jeannie did what she did because she didnt want Boone to leave, she knew that Carla would sooner or later get him to go to Vegas rather than live in a small town the rest of their days, and Jeannie would be one sniper short. so she sold her for caps and to keep him a sniper, which no doubt part of the deal was that they would leave Boone alone.
@@demitremorekis8550 actually i think randalls is more bitter sweet than sad in my opinion the saddest is rauls backstory literally every one he loved died his entire family his sister and a girl he cared for and what makes it even more sad is that he hides his saddness at least with boone and randal you know they were greiving raul masked his saddness and even changed his identity just to cope and yes i am biased because he is played by danny trejo but he really is a well written character and hes super underated
The fact that I can sit through these hour long videos about plotlines from a game I own is a testament to the brilliant writing of Obsidian's staff and of your editing/narration skills. These are amazingly done and you've earned an avid viewer
GreenFellow he does an amazing job of explaining all the little details most people skim over. When I play I go out of my way to check every terminal and click every option even though I never read them.
I've tried so hard to immerse myself in fallout NV for years to no avail. After watching 2 of his videos I'm seeing the game in a new light and am in love with it. Oxhorn does a great job at bringing you into the world
The reason I sit through these hour long videos is I don't have the patience to go around and find out the lore. Its much easier to watch than actually do
Anyone else realize that Crawford gave herself away. She mentions that boon thinks she was kidnapped but Boone literally said that no one knows that he does. She literally gave it to us ( 6:01 )
Lol you were running with the cazadores in tow from that little wind farm all the way to novac?! Damn that must've been hilarious to see. If you respond to this I would love to hear the story on how that happend
Boone is by far my favorite companion. His companion story was the first I ever did so it sits with me more than the others. He's a top notch sniper too, so that doesn't hurt my opinion any either.
@@robertbo3288 Arcade's story rewards aren't half bad either. Seeing good Enclave fighting alongside thier former enemies (or striking in revenge if you're Legion) is pretty cool.
Play with Raul too, yo. If you want some good and very, _very_ sad backstory, then give him a chance. It does't hurt that Danny puts his all into the voice acting.
@@josephschultz3301 honestly all of the companion backstories are sad in some way. It's good that you as the character can work with them and give most of them some kind of closure.
@@baddiematty5289 I definitely agree, yo. Giving them closure is half of the reason I play the game. Just the names of some of the quests are enough to choke me up. Veronica's "I Could Make You Care" comes to mind, especially how it ends. Man, I love this game.
It depends on YOUR courier. Mine just wanted to get paid. When Mr. House refused to give him more than one grand, he went down the secret elevator and silenced the old man forever.
@@whoareyoutoaccuseme6588 Mister House: “Why did you do this, so many years of preparation undone.” Courier: “Dude you’re paying me 1250 caps for your super weapon that I traveled across the Mohave to retrieve for you, but you’re willing to pay 2000 caps for a Snow Globe that was already in your god damn house. You need to tip your mailman better.”
There's a subtle detail in the conversations with Boone and Jean that actually points to Jean before you have to find the bill of sale. While talking to Boone, he noted that no one knows that Boone knew what happened to his wife. When you talk to Jean, she notes that Boone may perhaps think that his wife was kidnapped.
What the NCR did at Bittersprings was horrific and wrong, whether mistake or not. But the Khan's have no right to complain, Bitter-Root made it explicity clear that at least a portion of the Great Khans happily killed NCR citizens, including children who had done nothing wrong. Not to defend themself or deter raiders, but for training and to steal. The NCR looks back on Bittersprings and is ashamed, but the Khans have no shame or regret for what they did. If Bittersprings hadn't happened, they'd still be doing it now.
Even after bitter spring, they're still fucking up everything they touch... they're the one providing the chems to the fiends that are making west vegas a shithole.
in my playthrough I convinced Papa Khan to move on without any bloodshed and I got the ending where they reconnected with the followers of the apocalypse and made a powerful empire. I think I don't have to worry about them since the followers are with them . they might moralize them.
Rape is one of those things they are referring to when they say fates worse then death. So is torture. The question is would you say it was a tough call if you knew Boone's wife was going to be tortured every day. In a way she was gonna be. I think Boone did the right thing. He never would have been able to get either of them back. So not pulling the trigger would have been consigning them to torment for the rest of their lives in the name of keeping his hands clean of the direct action. Which is just cowardly and hypocritical. Boone is a brave man...he was willing to hate himself rather then leave those he cared about to a fate that would have made death a blessing. Feeling compassion for Boone is right. No one should have to make the choices he had to...but the wasteland has a way of asking for high prices.
Jacob Freeman See whenever I do this mission, I can’t help but think of what would’ve happened if The Courier had met Boone before he tracked his pregnant wife down. Would’ve been great to bust a slaver’s auction, guns blazing, maybe with some NCR support, and slay everyone there that spoke Latin. Not a lot of missions for saving slaves in this game, it’s one of the few things I felt was missing. They coulda made it super difficult, but I wish there was a choice to do it.!Would’ve felt really cathartic.
only though with an appropiate 'prelude mission' of salvaging some bad bad bad ass power armor that borderd more on a tank class mech then a personal suit , after all fun as the gameplay is but imagen making a legion camp of hundredds of npc's + the sort of arm's half the dudes would have without a 'fluke' trump card it be cearten player death or cearten cpu death when all the legioners went hostile starting to fire XD @@trrebi981
I think its interesting that Boone really comes off as the “too cool for school” emo and stoic protagonist that the average 13 year old would make, but as you get to know him, he’s dying on the inside as the only good thing in his life was taken away from him.
He's an incredibly sad man with a legitimately good reason to be as sad as he is. Emo kids wouldn't understand. They'd just complain that their Algebra II class is too hard.
Vitor Cavalcanti It wasn't until I got Novac that I got that one, too. I replied to the wrong person, but Arefu is named from a worn out sign at the start of the overpass that says "careful".
during my hardcore playthrough he was just about to tell me something then died to a deathclaw, because i hadn't saved in a while i didn't want to restart so i threw a funeral for him and laid down guns around him ;(
Interesting note: Talking to Manny with the Confirmed Bachelor perk implies that there may have been a one-sided attraction in play with his distaste for Boone's wife.
Amber B this guy really sucked. You're best friend's wife goes missing and you're happy. "Oh I figured he'd come around." His wife was kidnapped there's no coming around from that. Just the worst kind of friend.
I find it kind of funny how of all the factions the Khans get the golden ending if you make the right decisions. In a game where there isn't really any clear good ending, I guess the developers wanted to throw us players a bone and say, "Hey, you did make a difference for the better for *somebody*". They're the only faction who truly let's go and begins again.
Well, even in the darkest and uncertain of days: you can find a little ray of hope, a little silver lining that shines through the fog of uncertainty. The whole world may not be in the best shape, but you can make a little corner of it better then it was before.
It pretty much is. They start a new empire in Idaho, hook up with the Followers of the Apocalypse, and their combined genius in medical tech, economics, and politics makes them an empire akin to a bit more tribal NCR. Figures when you combine the baddest asses in the Mojave with the smartest geniuses.
Boon was my first companion that actually stuck around for the whole game. I liked his story and his tone. Boon was the single reason I slaughtered the Legion. I didn't even ask questions.
I just killed all legionarys whith boon at some camp and there was some boat i could use, so i went there and by incident i basicly found Cesar and killed him
I was surprised to find Boone done the voice of Myron on Fallout 2. I think it shows that when obsidian made new vegas, they looked back on the older series for inspiration, especially shows on the style of the ambient music
NCR commits one genocide by accident and deeply regrets it. They are called monsters. Literally all the other factions do the same on purpose at a daily basis and feel good about it. They are called moraly grey.
The NCR is far from perfect, but at least they care. I’d rather be taxed and have a less than perfect government than be in a slavery-driven imperialist dystopia
@Miss Misery eh I personally sided with Mr. House. Sure he's really not a good choice for the Mojave and he's not the dictator the people portray him as. But, he's arguably the best choice for humanity. This might sound scummy but his plan to colonize other planets not ravaged by the atomic war seems like the best choice for humanity
With Boone, a deathclaw came from behind me without my knowing, next thing I know the killcam is showing the thing being headshotted by Boone. Boone is my go-to.
I'm sorry, but I played New Vegas 5 times before I realized that quests are named after famous songs. What makes it even worse is the fact that I listen to most of them...
Oxhorn, thank you not only for this documentary-length video of my favorite New Vegas companion, but for making me want to play this awesome game again.
I remember the legion attack bitter springs. I had a heavy incinerator on me at the time. I remember Boone Sniping the bastards while I burned them to the ground. One of my favorite parts of the game took place on that hillside.
"My wife and child are dead, and the Legion made me kill them" Boone. "My wife and daughter are dead, the were killed by the Illuminati" Max Payne. "Farout man, that shit's crazy" Mister Fantastic. "Lets flip a bottle cap to decide who kill this guy" Max Payne.
I really like the Kahns as a tribe because they and bittersprings because they are drawing a parallel to the real-life wounded knee massacre, which was a war crime by the US army in for the slaughter of Colonel Custer's men during an ambush. Only difference is the US back in the 1800 s felt no remorse for their actions.
@@mr.classified6167 both examples of ppl being treated as filthy savages, and both examples showing no remorse, save for Boone, he didnt sign up to massacre the elderly, unarmed and children.
In my first two play-throughs, I happened upon Novac during the day and never asked Manny about Boone so I didn't even know who the guy really was. But then on my third play, I went to Novac at night and did his quest and recruited him. His story really set the tone of that game for me.
Y'all know Manny is gay right? He has special dialogue if you have the "confirmed bachelor" perk when you start "Come Fly With Me." It really does explain why he hated Carla: he had a crush on Boone. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
Well there is something wrong with crushing on a married man. Also I don't know how you could ship boone with a guy that was thrilled his best friend's wife goes missing. Sounds like the worst kind of friend. Kinda comes across as disrespectful and controlling.
+Battle wolf Be fair. Would your view of Manny and what he did change if he were a woman? Would you still ship them? What would you think about a *woman* who wanted a married man who wasn't interested in her romantically, and who was glad that man's wife was sold into *slavery*? I stand with Apple Lysol. Manny's a greedy, self-centered human being and no friend at all, much less someone you should want to inflict on Boone.
I think that there's nothing wrong with having a crush on someone, even if that person is married (specially if you knew them and liked them before they got married). What is wrong is to interfere with said relationship or, in this case, be happy because their partner got killed. If you truly love someone, then you should be happy that someone makes them happy, even if it's not you.
there is no saying that Papa Khan okayed the killings, for all you know that was unintended and they were punished for it, they arent like Raider Gangs, they fight to survive.
@@UltimateGamerCC He did use the word ,,raided". That tells me that they were and deep down might still be raiders, they just gave it up because they're too weak now. If you want more proof, talk to Sergeant Bitter-Root,he'll tell you of their raider lifestyles.
@@agentc7020 still they arent evil, the evil ones like Bitter Roots parents are dead, but they do what they do out of necessity, especially ever since being relocated to a dismal canyon for the past 13 years, you dont get karma for killing them like the fiends or powder gangers, so maybe theyve changed.
I remember feeling a sharp chill down my spine after hearing about his wife and completing his story arc Truly one of the best companions/followers in New Vegas
"You know after what I had done....wouldn't you do the Same?? You may not think on it much....but Dammit I do. At least....you being here?? It's getting better for me. Judgement's still calling me, but I'm not answering. Not until that Caesar is dead and a Bullet from me puts him 6 fucking feet under." ^^ Something Boone WOULD SAY if that was a Dialogue Option in,the game.
In this case here's what I would do. Quicksave, pick the nihilist option. Use "showinventory" on Boone to get the ID of the armor and type "additem (BaseID)" and then reload the quicksave and pick the other option. Then you can open console and press the up arrow key to get the command since you already used it in console and it will add that armor to his inventory, and if you have to you can take the other armor out. Cheaty but it's the best you can do.
Boone is truly is a sad one indeed, a man whom he believes has it all coming for his sins at Bitter Springs. But I really can say he was one of my favorite companions for he and I share a very common hate for the Legion.
Wade Nilsson One of the best if not the best follower in Fallout. Plus I feel the Gobi Campaign Rifle is what Boone used at the infamous outpost at Cottonwood Cove which is a nice piece of headcannon to me.
So is Raul. A story of a young teenager and his baby sister having to survive when the bombs fell. His family tried to help those in need but it became too much where they had to drive people away. Some fought back, eventually he and his baby sister had to run out on their own... you really get a great sense of respect for this man who lost it all at a young age..
Dr Mobius Definitely especially since he is voiced by Danny fucking Trejo. Fallout 3 or 4 didn't have such depth to every one of the followers. Each one has a unique story that is worth investing in. Only thing I wish was available as a follower was Ulysses. And Dr. Mobius is awesome as a character too. I'm a little disappointed to see that Fallout 4 couldn't match or do better than the Fallout NV dlcs, they had a whole over arching story with so many amazing characters that tie up the mysteries you encounter in the Mojave
Rex Yeah, I remember playing fallout 4 for the first time and when I realised they stripped skills and had a lame perk only system my heart sunk into my stomach..
I loved murdering the Legion in my first play through and Boone was the perfect companion for it. After doing his quest line I took him along to Caesar’s fortress and we massacred the entire force together. Great bonding experience and one of my favorite memories playing a game
Ahil Boy I will kind of agree the second most interesting character would have to be Raul my least favorite companion is Veronica her only motivation is a goddamn dress
"A guy who's cold on the exterior but deep down, ya know, he's a good man." - Mr. New Vegas' intro to Johnny Guitar. Song reminds me of Boone 'cuz of the sadness and yearning in it. The song played when I asked Crawford to meet up in front of the Dino funny enough. It creeped me out that Crawford would vamoose somebody into slavery over a petty matter of opinion of their hometown.
It's said in Roman gladiatorial fights when one man was about to finish the other off he would look to the crowd who would respond with "thumbs up" for mercy and "thumbs down" for execution. I loved that refrence.
I kinda know what it feels like. Boone’s beret is a symbol of his service and a First Recon beret serves to display his skill as a marksman. As for my own beret. Too bad that that one of the berets issued to me doesn’t fit, the fact that I had trouble breaking it in annoys me to no end during basics.
Damn right. I may have a mod that lets me take an unlimited amount of followers with me, but I always keep Boone around for a couple reasons. One is that having a big party is hell on my graphics card. Second is that he's holds true to a sniper. Give him a nice, powerful rifle (I have him equipped with a PSG1 thanks to a mod) and some armor piercings .308 rounds and he mows through even deathclaws, sometimes before I can even draw my weapon. And it's even worse if I got ED-E with us. Those two are the Fawkes and Dogmeat for my party.
+Shadow O´Neill Basically the same for me, only I don´t have unlimited companions and I gave Boon the Survivalist-Rifle, I think it is just perfect, because usually I will snipe at long distances so for Boone I need stopping power at medium to close range and this Weapon is the perfect mix of accuracy, dmg, dps and efficient use of ammo, most enemies die within one magazine, it´s no problem if he misses a shot, the reload is fast and it is a gun that I would not use anyway because I hate the ironsights of the Service-Rifle. And for backup I have him carry the Gobi-Rifle. The only Way to rly top that in terms of Bang for your Buck is to give Veronca (or maybe Arcade?) Eljas LAER, force her to go ranged and have her use MF or MF-Bulk. But then I would miss out on Boone and the Spotter-Perk.
This legit is one of the most hard core background stories ever introduced in my opinion possibly even in a game. And the best part is its not even your own character just a friend who has deep ties with the setting. So fucking sad the man was forced to pay the ultimate price. Losing his own loved ones and put in the position where it had to be by his own hand. Truly a dark heros tale.
Well, red in a uniform usually signify something, especially if it’s a prominent piece of clothing. A red beret often signify a elite unit (usually paratroopers in English speaking countries, though Paras wear maroon instead of red).
Joshua John Granada ik right what other game has a giant blue grandma that is addicted to a machine that turns her invisible she also thinks your her 200 year old grandson pretty lit
Joshua John Granada obsidian broke the fucking lore because mr. Handy robots were made by general atomic not by repconn but when obsidian MAKES lore, they pop out great characters (e.g. Joshua graham)
The funny thing is that I usually side with House (just a personal choice) but I always help the NCR as much as I can before I do anything to make sure that even after House take over they still have some standing in the Mojave. After all the good they tried doing even if not all of it ended well they at least deserve that much.
I can’t bring myself to do a play through where I have to kill the brotherhood. They are literally just minding their own business so I don’t believe they should be killed for what they MIGHT do in the future
That ending brought legit tears to my eyes. You did a fantastic job telling the story. As a military man I feel for Boon and struggle with some of the same feelings as he. This was all around fantastic. Thank you Oxhorn and than you Obsidian.
Even if Boone had attacked Cottonwood, he probably would have died and Carla would have been sold regardless. It's dark, but it was definitely a mercy.
There's something in my eye....... As a small side-story, I also think the implication that Manny was in love with Boone and possibly repressing it (and the post-Repconn fact of him living with the not-ghoul you meet there) is such an interesting addition to the story. It's stuff like this, and Boone's story as a whole, that makes me love New Vegas.
Boone is such a good character. Like they make the edgiest fucking badass sniper and don’t make him feel like a trope. You actually understand where he comes from and his over the top moments feel very justified. Man I love this game.
Joker Josh I like Boone, I really did. It’s a shame he held a passion for the NCR, with the proper guidance and teaching he could have been a great asset to the Legion. Aww... well life continues and he is no special man in comparison to the degenerates he once fought beside. He not only deserves but he wants death. Who are we faithful not to give it to him?
Lol yes. You just walking around the Mojave and next thing you know, you get the kill screen of some poor soul that ending up being caught in Boone's sights.
What about 76? It’s the best fallout by far, the characters and story alone give it that title but the stable, fun, and rewarding mechanics combined with no micro transactions or pay-to-win loot boxes give it a fun factor that cannot be matched by any other fallout ever. Brotherhood of steel maybe.

I never saw that note Boone wrote to his wife, god that's so sad to think throughout the whole game Boone was carrying around a note now made irrelevant. I wanna give him a giant hug now, but I feel that would annoy him.
Damn the dedication to storytelling... You can see why Boone feels fate is out to get him. After Bitter Springs, he had to shoot his own pregnant wife, and he not lives all alone, with the only motivation being to kill legionaries and find who sold his wife. He has lost all hope of redemption until you meet him. Meanwhile, in Todd Howard's script: Shaun (Father) sets you free and when you meet him tells you he didn't expect you to survive... When you ask him why he didn't unfreeze you immediately when he came in charge he says "there was initially no... logical reason to do so." but then there still is no reason when he decides to do so... he says, and I quote: "Certainly it was no longer to keep you suspended... I... Well, I suppose I wanted to see what would happen." The fuck..? Not to mention Fallout 3 where you have to die from radiation activating the purifier, when Fawkes could do it but doesn't, because "We all have our destinies... I would not rob you of that." What lesson did we learn here kids? Don't let Bethesda write your stories.
I know this was a year ago, but in the 'Broken Steel' DLC for fallout 3, Fawkes will go into the purifier and activate it... but it still leads to the same outcome where some sort of shockwave or something knocks you and Sarah out and you wake up a few weeks later to help the bos fight the enclave once more
Right? And I can't believe I had to convince Charron so hard to do it for me. Like he was so happy about me freeing him and willing to do whatever but oh no, punching a code in is not part of his contract so he's reluctant. What were they even thinking with the original
The fact a GAME made a character so deep, a random NPC you can go on by never speaking with is just proof how great of a game NV was. Never played a better game, after years i still get chills down my spine doing stuff like the Sierra Madre or just plainly going down an empty vault. Damn Bethesda you made one bad-fucking-ass game here. Btw NV ---> Skyrim (even tho Skyrim is also one of the best games ever made)
You're right, my bad, still Bethesda is to thank for NV :D since we'd still be playing Fallout in an isometric format if they hadn't bought out the game years ago.
emp96ElminD Not remotely. Fallout went up for sale after the owner of it went bust and Bethesda just threw enough money down to buy it. They were arguably the worst developer that could have got their hands on it since they clearly had no vision for it Plus New Vegas contains a ton of things that were meant to be in the original “fallout 3” (Van Buren), and its developer Obsidian is made up of many people who worked for Black Isle - the company that made the original two fallout games Bethesda basically just hijacked the series, they aren’t to thank for anything
boone brings up a good point: "with the khans the only difference between a civilian and a soldier is the civilian is more likely to miss" in other words, any one of those khans could have been armed. better safe and alive, than sympathetic and dead. of course, this only applies to this case.

+Liam The Mole men actually exist as The Tunnlers in Lonesome Road. The Ghosts at the rocket facility are basically the Nightkin. There's bound to be more. Mr. New Vegas isn't actualy a real personso he's onto something when he's yelling at the teddy bear recording him about it's true form. He gets a lot of the details wrong, but No Bark is usually right about the things he's ranting about in broad strokes. So, would you like ketchup or mustard?
Also, to add to Magmos statement, he also stated that Jason's Brights rocket was manned by religious ghouls trying to get to the moon, which WAS after the fact BUT he would have had no way of knowing about it because he wasn't present and you didn't tell him.
To be honest, I really liked Boone, although so stoic and not talkative. I wished there was a way to romance him :( and help him move on from his grief and find someone new and wonderful , like me, cough.
Well, join the club. Until JE Sawyer's dusty nuts budge and he actually gives romance options a chance, nothing of the Obsidian brand's gonna let us unleash our hormones... Virtually, of course
I think the point is that Boone still suffers from both trauma and emotional loss when it comes to Carla and Bitter Springs. It makes sense that you can't romance him for that reason.
@Leah Dijon I think he would be the type of man to love rarely but deeply when it happens. The loss of Carla and their child would weigh heavy on him. I loved his story and being able to help him find some peace with himself. Great writing.
That's the one thing I was sad about with New vegas. The lack of romanceable partners. I always have one playthrough of my games with both genders and I try to play it in a way I see fitting for that character - not me. Meaning there's little to no lesbian action going on just because I personally am not attracted to men. Though as a side note, I consider it a good idea for the female Sole Survivor of Fallout 4 to go "lesbian" due to the fact that she had JUST lost her husband and that finding a new man might just seem disrespectful and.. somewhat out of character. A same sex fling seems more viable there. Also I find Curie adorable.. hard to avoid that. But I digress! I wanted Boone to find happiness with my female Courier. I like to imagine they stuck together after the entire ordeal. He's a good man and deserves to live happily. The female Courier isn't some damsel that needs his protection either, so it would be a huge burden off his shoulder and would allow him to just enjoy life with her over worrying every single second to have to go through the same again.
Ive played new vegas for years and I just realized this. Jeannie May mentions that she knows boone thinks his wife was kidnapped and dismisses it. But Boone said that no one knew that HE knew. Dead giveaway
>doesn't bring back the dead families of raiders To hell with the kahns. I wouldn't have minded even if it wasn't a miscommunication and the NCR really just wanted to stick it to the kahns. What, you mean you're gonna attack us for pillaging everyone in sight? How dare you!!! Velasco's indignation is total B.S. In my mind if you fly the flag of a raider then you're no better than a fiend.

I hate the Khans, but rather than killing children(if you honestly support that in any other case except a child shooting at you directly right now, I hope the legion leaves you tied to a cross) why not save and help them. The NCR was not just, killing defenseless children is cowardly and despicable. And comparing the massacre to killing Hornets, which aren’t capable of sapient thought like humans is fucking despicable too.
@@diobrando2575 wanna know what's fucking despicable too? killing children as they watch their families getting killed from afar by some raiders, oh? the great khans did it? oh, my mistake, it's totally justified now
@Rylan H. Mangum first of all, I was pointing out that the khans think it’s just when they do it but not when it’s done to them, second of all, war is unfortunately like that, you shouldn’t be able to do an eye for an eye but it happens, it happened to the Americans in Vietnam and to the soviets in Afghanistan, both took their rage on the civies, also, no I’m not advocating child murder, I’m advocating for owning to the consequences of your actions, khans play victim when their sick, elderly and children were killed by accident while they kill sick, elderly and children on purpose because they’re the fucking khans, see the difference? The NCR didn’t want a massacre, the Khans regularly committed them, it’s sad that bitter springs happened, too many innocents but it irks me that people try to defend the khans saying that bitter springs makes them the victims while they were in fact just reaping what they sowed

I killed Ceasar just for the fun of it, and i was below the rank of 20 when i did it, it was hard but not impossible, and i had no companions
I'd really like my beret back.
Let's take about your wife some more Boone.
Rihárd Horváth
Please.....
Rihárd Horváth please
Rihárd Horváth I really hate it when you get an extra Beret but once you give the beret back to Boone you can't get it back it turns into one beret.
I really liked Boone and his story. He was my almost permanent companion, second only to Arcade.
TheTimeLady88 did you know the guy from chuck voices arcade?
yeah, I did. I think that made me like him even more. I liked Boone originally because his voice actor was Max Goof.
i love arcade and the tesla armor
+Shadow O´Neill
Basically the same for me, only I don´t have unlimited companions and I gave Boon the Survivalist-Rifle, I think it is just perfect, because usually I will snipe at long distances so for Boone I need stopping power at medium to close range and this Weapon is the perfect mix of accuracy, dmg, dps and efficient use of ammo, most enemies die within one magazine, it´s no problem if he misses a shot, the reload is fast and it is a gun that I would not use anyway because I hate the ironsights of the Service-Rifle.
I think the subtle, tragic irony about the 1st Recon Assault Armor is that he wears a red scarf.
The same shade as the very legionaries he hates.
Well, red in a uniform usually signify something, especially if it’s a prominent piece of clothing. A red beret often signify a elite unit (usually paratroopers in English speaking countries, though Paras wear maroon instead of red).
Maybe he keeps it to remind himself of who his true enemy is,to fuel his hatred even further, maybe

Boone: No.

And this, ladies and gentlemen, is why NV is the BEST Fallout game, lorewise.
Joshua John Granada yes

"Innocent women and non-combatants" *Did you hear what Bitter-Root said*
That's the they ignore part of bitter root bcs he's a traitor to the Khans or something 😂
Is your profile picture really appropriate for the subject matter?
Never knew his name was Craig, I find that cool.
I wonder why you think that.
that sounds like heresy To me you filthy protestant LMFAOOOOOO
He bought his sniper rifle at Craiglist
he saved my ass from multiple deathclaws-
There's something in my eye.......
By far the most badass companion. but the prick steals all my kills
YvngTrappa777 Slavers deserve to get strung up on their own crosses and left to die in the Mojave sun. As the NCR we are more than happy to oblige.
Joker Josh Steals* Idiot.
You’re stealing his kills bud.
Lol yes. You just walking around the Mojave and next thing you know, you get the kill screen of some poor soul that ending up being caught in Boone's sights.
Fallout NV feels way better to play. The graphics are nice in fo4, but it doesn't have the vibe and atmosphere.

Meanwhile, in Todd Howard's script:
Shaun (Father) sets you free and when you meet him tells you he didn't expect you to survive...
I would not rob you of that."
What lesson did we learn here kids? Don't let Bethesda write your stories.
I know this was a year ago, but in the 'Broken Steel' DLC for fallout 3, Fawkes will go into the purifier and activate it... but it still leads to the same outcome where some sort of shockwave or something knocks you and Sarah out and you wake up a few weeks later to help the bos fight the enclave once more
Right? And I can't believe I had to convince Charron so hard to do it for me. Like he was so happy about me freeing him and willing to do whatever but oh no, punching a code in is not part of his contract so he's reluctant. What were they even thinking with the original
it's over legion, Oxhorn have the high ground
Boone is this badass because his actor looks like Keanu Reeves
Yeah with modds
@fatherelijah7088 they mean real life actor
The modded faces really disturb me.
Do some people actually think they look good?
At this point ED-E is the only good looking character
I thought it was cool too for a while. But seeing boone is 26 years old, i doubt having him look like 50 year old sniper was just bad.
The original Boone face textures makes him look like a thumb.
Looks like FCO.
Or one of dragbody's overhauls.
I still have the occasional nightmare of non-blinking people that the latter gave me. Good times.
you’re right about the thumb...
Btw NV ---> Skyrim
(even tho Skyrim is also one of the best games ever made)
FNV was made by Obsidian Entertainment and published by Bethesda Softworks.
You're right, my bad, still Bethesda is to thank for NV :D since we'd still be playing Fallout in an isometric format if they hadn't bought out the game years ago.
emp96ElminD I’m gonna thank the developers for this amazing game instead of Bethesda for mooching off it.
i agree with you
emp96ElminD
Not remotely. Fallout went up for sale after the owner of it went bust and Bethesda just threw enough money down to buy it. They were arguably the worst developer that could have got their hands on it since they clearly had no vision for it
Plus New Vegas contains a ton of things that were meant to be in the original “fallout 3” (Van Buren), and its developer Obsidian is made up of many people who worked for Black Isle - the company that made the original two fallout games
Bethesda basically just hijacked the series, they aren’t to thank for anything
"Channeling my inner Valentine", I'm using that and never explaining it
good meme.

LAPD Mr. Boon, I'm agent Phelps and I have some questions about your wife
I saying this right now, Boone got robbed of a character of the year award.
boone brings up a good point:
"with the khans the only difference between a civilian and a soldier is the civilian is more likely to miss"
in other words, any one of those khans could have been armed. better safe and alive, than sympathetic and dead. of course, this only applies to this case.
This is why I love NV, nothing is simple and the whole area is linked together. One quest leads to 5 more and there all well written and fun to do.

Oxhorn went smartass with Boone at the start lmao
You should do a video on No-Bark. Most of his delusions actually come true in some form or another in the game and it's DLC.

I think Boone had to make some hard choices but in the end they were the right ones.
*IDIOT*
What is Boone sad about?
A. His wife is dead
B. His wife is dead
C. His wife is dead
D. His wife is dead

Ive played new vegas for years and I just realized this. Jeannie May mentions that she knows boone thinks his wife was kidnapped and dismisses it. But Boone said that no one knew that HE knew. Dead giveaway
"But that's why they train you. Break you down till you're automatic." This is golden. 40:26
>doesn't bring back the dead families of raiders
To hell with the kahns.
Joseph Knight Are you really any better by shooting the old, the sick, the young, than the Khans or the Fiends?
@@diobrando2575 >Great Khans teach their children to shoot by taking potshots at NCR citizens.
>Even Children.
>Great Khans boast about raiding NCR caravans, towns and robbing NCR citizens.
>Essentially killing future citizens, current citizens, disrupting supply lines that may be the only source of survival critical equipment and supply for various settlements throughout the wastelands.
>Confess to being raiders, literally the only difference being that they're shown, or said to have children among them like any other raiders would if the game wasn't trying to "justify" them, or humanize them.
People who take potshots at other people's children in the acts of a marauder don't have the place to complain when their own are gunned down, probably on their road toward taking potshots at yet more in the future. The great Khan's own words reveal how self aware they are. More precisely, aren't. The only thing they deserve is to be mercilessly rooted out and destroyed. Do you do anything different when a nest of hornets sets up in your back yard and begins stinging your kids to death? The NCR is beyond just in their action, and their only mistake was to let pity into their hearts for the vile vermin that were the great Khans.
Crashmaster Mike hornets, aren’t humans, will never be humans, are nothing like humans. Killing children as they run is cowardly, and fucking disputable.
Boone is the reason I've only done a couple "bad" characters. I can't bring myself to not use him or even kill him, considering his story. He makes roleplaying difficult.
