- Today I dive into British rock band The Jam. "Town Called Malice" is the lead single from their sixth and final studio album THE GIFT released in March 1982. It was one of their most successful albums, reaching No. 1 in the UK Albums Chart.
What Do Ya'll Think !?
The bitterest pill I ever had to swallow and That's Entertainment and Funeral Pyre are all brilliant tunes by The Jam too...😊❤ My sister got to see them live in the Apollo Glasgow "82"
By this time Weller was beginning to sow the seeds for his departure from the Jam. The introduction of keyboards and brass and the more dance oriented sound being a move away from their harder edged three piece sound. I do like the 'Gift' with it's mix of different and familiar. In hindsight I don't bear Weller any ill will for moving on as he left us with 6 fantastic albums from the band that got me through my late teens and early 20's. Cheers.
I saw Paul Weller in Sydney a few weeks back and he closed the show with this song.
A town called malice was written about Paul weller’s home town Woking.
Weller was never the same
The jam was his best years and music shame they broke up

Nice one Dad 😊
Even though the energy wouldn’t be the same now, The Jam would be the only reunion act I’d love to see. But it seems like it will never happen….
My friends went to see them at the Pauley Pavilion but I couldn’t make it during the Beat Surrender tour but I thought for sure they’d tour again- wrong-suddenly they broke up.
Lots of music to discover, Great choice.
Enjoyed your positive reaction
Ohh there is so much more to them than this . Thanks for your reviews.
I'm totally diggin' the Jam 😎😎
Brilliant band,my favorite is "It's written in the Stars"but to be honest there are many but if you do get a spare 3 minutes it would be interesting to see if you like it as it is different from his usual hits
