- Quick video on how to set the limits using the up and down arrows on a garage door opener. A Liftmaster garage door opener to be exact. This should work on any opener that has arrows like this. ( Liftmaster, Chamberlain, Craftsman units )

Thanks man your video is a problem solver for setting upper and lower limits. Thanks again.
You saved me twenty minutes digging through an owners manual; very easy to follow instructions. Thank you!
Best video on the “excessive force 4-3” error! Got my lift master working again with your instructions
You my friend had the best video I have found for resetting the down pressure! I watch few others and they had me pushing the yellow button. Thank you again for showing the easiest way to reset it!!
Exactly what I needed after we lost power a few times in a week and it lost memory, short and concise! Thank you sir
Out of 4 videos, your how to video was the best. I'll try it later today.
Your FULL explanations were Definitely Most Very Very Very Helpful - after watching about 10 other videos - YOUR’s is simply the BEST!
Thank you so much for this video and fix. Worked exactly like your video stated, and saved me an expensive service call. Too bad companies can't write manuals to explain issues more clearly. Keep up the excellent work.
Thank youuu so much. I've been confused with the other videos on how to do this because my garage door motor is different from the newer ones. I don't have fancy buttons like the others but this helped allot thanks man. You're a champion
This was great information. I originally thought my chain needed a big adjustment. Now it's almost perfect after setting the down limit. Thank you
Thank You Sooo very much ‼️
Awesome direction's 💯
Great video! Clear instructions and no nonsense. Thank you!
Thank you so much! I watch so many videos and none of them were really any help
Nice and clear instructions, thanks.
Thanks. Mine automatically did the up/ down cycle after setting the limit. But it’s working again now thanks to this video.
I’m definitely gonna have to try this when I get home from work, I’ve been trying to figure out what the yellow and down arrow mean when they keep flickering, I will let you know if everything goes according to plan, once again thanks for this video.
Thank you!! This was exactly what I needed!
Omg. Totally awesome. I love you sir. I can even so this myself. God bless you
This helped me adjust my door. Thanks.
Thank you for this video! It helped tremendously.
Thanks , My problem is solved . It opens and closes like a charm.😀👍
this is a piece of cake Thanks I enjoyed it.
Great video, worked like a charm!
Thanks for the video! Works great now. 👍👍👌
AWESOME WORKED GREAT THANKS!
Life saver man! Thanks!
Thank you so much sir, that fixed my door.
Great Video!! I followed the steps and got the lint set for opening. But when I go to set the closing force, it doesn’t work and slams down when closing. It also opens really slow so I am going to get some WD40 for it. But what gives on the door slamming so hard?
Does the door open and close manually no problem?
Your door charm was more powerful than my "open sesame" spell. Thanks. :)
😂
Would this adjustment also help with issue of door not reversing when going down and face an obstacle? Thank you
Yes that is correct
@@GarageDoorGuidance Thanks a lot!
Thank you for this video. Is there a reason why when I try to test the cycle, the up arrow works but then down arrow doesn't? It just flashes and click for about 6-8 clicks. The sensors look aligned, and there's nothing in the way. Great video.
I’d try to adjust those sensors a little bit anyways to see if it works. I’ve seen them pretty well aligned and still be the issue
Would it works? I am having same problem.
@@aperson1122 the sensors can look aligned but still cause the issue i would start there
You can try that haha
I wanted to update my problem for other readers. It's solved. After two days getting crazy: sensors aligned but still got the code 4-6 (4 up - 6 down). Over Chamberlain web site, the 4-6 code says checking the sensors alignment, make sure the wires install correctly on the Opener....and I did. Found out the problem was I replaced the old wires of the sensors but not the one connects to the remote. Replaced that one and now it's fine.
Sick vid!
You are awesome for sharing this thank you
Liftmaster/Chamberlain is JUNK!!!
The alternatives are arguably worse 😅 what problem are you having
How far down should chain hang after closing the door
Not very far at all. It should really only droop a tiny bit
@@GarageDoorGuidance Normally I like to close it just tight enough to reverse off of a 1 inch high object.
Thank you 🙏
Thanks for the video. When I start programming the “close” limit and press and hold the down triangle button on the unit, the door travels down a foot or two and then stops, while I’m still pushing on the down triangle button. Any thought where I’m going wrong?
You’re doing it right but it does sound like a bad travel module / board
@@GarageDoorGuidance Thank you
@@GarageDoorGuidancecan you go on to explain more about the bad module?
Thank you so much! Awesome!
My door will test great but when I open and close it , it's still a couple inches off the ground. Is there something else I can do? It's a liftmaster.
Have you fixed this already ?
Sorry for the late response!
@@GarageDoorGuidance it's still doing it. Thank you for responding to my comment.
Linda Hinojosa when you say it tests great, what do you mean ?
Followed the instructions but when I tap the down button it flashes and stops. Now I’m getting flashes 1up and 2down. What do I do? I got some new sensors, reworked Avery thing perfectly, I don’t understand what else to do. When I put the sensors face to face they still don’t light up
They must be wired incorrectly or stapled through somewhere. This is assuming you have the correct sensors on. Make sure you have black to black and white to white connected in the back of the motor. Sometimes a staple can push too hard on the wires and connect the two wires as well.
After I set the limits on the garage door opener, is it going to require me reprogram the keypad and the remotes?
No
is down pressure adjustable?..I have replaced my Heavy wooden door with a much lighter door. My opener stops on the down part...can it be adjusted?.
It does it on its own when you run it up and down after setting the limit. Have you made sure nothing else was in the way / affecting it ?
@@GarageDoorGuidance I found out it automatically adjusted. Thanks for rapid reply..lol
Sorry lol I don’t check this thing much to be honest 😂 oh well. Still seems to be helping people out so I never removed anything
@@GarageDoorGuidance No problem ..great video's.
thank you soo much !!
Thank you
Thank you so much sir🙏🙏🙏
I was playing with the buttons before seeing this video, now the door won't move and lights just blink. Is there a way to rest or do I need to do something else?
Typically unplugging it fully for 5-10 minutes should re set it? Have you tried this?
Having same problem did you get it fixed ?
Thanks
I was trying to adjust this and did it wrong the first time so I attempted a second time. Now when I get into “edit mode” and press the up button the motor does not attempt to move the door. Then I hit the middle button and same happens when I press/hold the down button. Have I completely broken my opener? Did I blow some fuse somehow? I’m completely befuddled.
Well I gave it 5 minutes, went back and it worked fine. Who knows but oh well
Could be it overheated, I was just going to suggest to give it a few minute
It overheated. Chamberlain rep said that happens to protect the logic board. 10 minute cool off is what expected to use.
These are complete trash.
Min 3:10 is where mine trying to go down then comes up and starts blinking? Any suggestions?
Safety sensors are almost always the culprit at that point
Can someone tell me what it means when the middle rectangle button between the up and down button is flashing?
Flashing blue?
@@GarageDoorGuidanceyes flashing blue
Usually that means it’s in the WiFi programming mode, and it’s standing by ready to connect to your app
My motor does not responde to this, however the door opens and closes fine, I just need to shorten the movement a bit. Only show 2 lights on the Down arrow. Do someone know what this means?
Same controls and you hood the square but nothing beeps?
My Up arrow lowers my door, and my Down arrow raises... having a hard time adjusting
Have you figured it out ? My guess is the trolley and chain got put on backwards
Sorry for the late reply, haven’t had access for a while
@@GarageDoorGuidance mine had the same issue so that when it detects motion while opening, it’ll close. And when it closes, it doesn’t sense motion and doesn’t reverse up when someone passes.
Tried checking the trolley and it’s in the correct direction
I can only get the unit to go down in short increments. one week old
Rpm sensor, call Liftmaster they should send you a warranty replacement
I’m just passed the warranty ..this garage door opener has been complete trash. The builder of our home is also complete trash.
Mine go crazy it flash and beep 5 times
The ones set the force automatically so once you set both up and down it’ll run a cycle on its own and beep as you’re saying
I have Chamberlain (B2215T), look exact the same as this one. I am having problem of setting up travel limit. Followed all steps but at the test cycle, it goes up fine but not going down. So frustrated.
I’d recommend calling chamberlain at that point, I suspect RPM sensor or logic board possibly
I wanted to update my problem for other readers. It's solved. After two days getting crazy: sensors aligned but still got the code 4-6 (4 up - 6 down). These things are trash. Mine is one year old and has been trouble almost the entire time.
👍💯
My garage door closes/opens normally, but after about 3-4 minutes being closed it opens again ??? I have googled and not ONE PERSON have Asked a question about this. Is it something i can fix myself? It’s not closing and immideatly reversing! It only stays closed if i manually stop it!
Opens back up every time?
@@GarageDoorGuidance not if i stop it with the remote control. Then it stays shut. It’s really weird…
Have you tried to reprogram the limits?
@@GarageDoorGuidance yes :(

Morto vene, Tuta cualidate
?
Does not work. I have a lift master 1200 series.
When I push the up triangle, the garage door opens all the way. However when I push the down arrow, all I get are click sounds and beeping lights. 🤡🤡🤡
Can anyone speak about why the garage door will not go down.
When I MANUALLY close the garage door (disconnected from the garage door opener) nothing is binding. There’s no resistance from hinges or wheels.
It’s just this piece of crap over-engineered crap garage door opener. Their troubleshooting is total crap.
Welcome to the 2000’s. Over-priced products. Don’t work, troubleshooting is pointless. A tech will charge you 300 bucks to do some tiny adjustment that no one on the internet can seem to share.😢
Usually it’s a simple thing when it won’t go down.. have you checked your safety sensors ? Both lights have to be 100% solid, if there’s the slightest flicker then it will not come down
@@GarageDoorGuidanceyes have checked sensors. To this day the garage door continues to fail
