    Wow. You saved me some dollars for a service call to a technician. Your second step about measuring the force of the opening and closing was the part I didn't know and was causing my issue. I have a Chamberlain B4505T. Even their manual didn't have that step! Thanks.😊😅

    Thanks so much. My instructions had nothing about the fast flashing up and down buttons after setting up the travel settings. Ten minutes after watching your video it was working! I played with it for hours trying to get it to work using the instruction manual that came with it. Thanks again!

    I found the trick is to make the door so the rubber weather stripping at the bottoms barely touches the concrete. Then opener automatically allows the door to gracefully fall into place the last 2 in. Like a built in soft close feature. Use the arrow to slam in into its final resting spot will activate the safety feature when adjusting and ruin the adjustment process. Hope this helps!

    Awesome video! Before I watched this video the chain was way too loose, the bar was bowed from all of the pressure from the cable side, and the cable side was so tight It looked like the cable would cut your head off. I watched your video and it was 1,2,3 and everything worked perfect! You saved me a lot of grief!! Thank you so much for the video.

    To be honest I’m gonna give you some good credit on the emergency release rope and handle you are the first garage door installer that I seen who actually tied off correctly so please keep up the good work on doing that and if you have any access rope please just trim it burn and if you want or just leave it but the way you have it set up good job

    Thank you so much my garage door and motor were replaced a few months ago and randomly I started getting error messages for different things such as excessive closing and opening force, sometimes cable tension failure because the garage refused to stay closed without the light blinking. It would go all the way down then immediately back up. I had to manually close it because I had no idea what the cause was and after just reprogramming the whole thing the this solved the issue. Sounds like you are a pro. I followed the Chamberlain instructions multiple times. I watched your video once. The programming fails to set the open limit every time. It continues to hit the bump stop. I even set the the open limit to about half open and when done it still raises to the bump stop. Chamberlain is beyond slow to respond.
    Compliments on your video, that is the way it is supposed to work.

    • @garagedoorgenius
      @garagedoorgenius  4 роки тому

      Phillip if it's not keeping the limits it could be the logic board. I know it sucks waiting to speak to tech support. Have your Model # and serial # ready. If it's under warranty Chamberlain will send you a new board. I would definitely go that route.
      Also tell them Garage Door Genius needs his check!! Lolz

    • @garagedoorgenius
      @garagedoorgenius  6 місяців тому

      @@Subietech yeah I would definitely make sure the door isn't dragging and running pretty smooth. I would maybe lubricate the rollers, hinges, and springs. If you have an extension spring set up, hit those pulleys with lube.
      Then press the yellow button twice. That puts it in force setting mode. Press the flashing arrow that's flashing. Let it cycle. Then press the flashing arrow again. Let it cycle....

    I just installed my new opener like you have. I'm having issues with the garage door closing!! Instructions say, to make sure that nothing is blocking the reverse sensors, which "nothing" is. On the part where I say it has to get a feel for it? It comes up fine, stops where I have it programmed. Then when I press down it, it comes right back up? I had it working right off the bat, now it won't close, even when I programmed it right. The eye lens on the green one, sounds loose when I barley touch it, where the other doesn't. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

    Request back wages from Chamberlain for providing this valuable resource. Their manual is a bolloxed up mess to understand. I tried their 800#, but that explanation on programming wasn't any better. When we couldn't get the unit to respond to input, they suggested I need a logic board.
    After waiting a month and a half, I went back to Lowes., and they were great. I only had to exchange my motor unit with the bad logic board, with a new motor unit, took it home, and with your video to program, it's now up and running and working great. I apparently didn't have to set the force, b/c after setting the up and down travel, the light blinked 10 times, the unit went up and down by itself and then stopped. The wall button was blinking, I pushed it twice to syncro it, then watched your other video on programming remotes, and now everything works as it should. Contact Chamberlain and tell them you'll help them re-write the instructions.....................for a fee of course. Your instructions were to the point, and spot on and easy to follow and understand. I appreciate it. Thank you. By the way, my unit is a Chamberlain, model C2102.

    Big help my door was going down to far and actually bending the metal piece that the lock rides on. hopefully that corrects it and i don't need to buy a logic board

    We've done these steps a few times. Works great for like 3 open/close cycles. After that it gets way out of sync, jams into the top bolt, then tries to go way too far down and comes back up automatically. We also have a Chamberlain model with a 10 ft door. Any ideas how to fix?
    Thanks.

      Sounds like a possible control module or circuit board. How old is the machine? May be worth your time calling Chamberlain tech support. Have the model # and serial number ready. They can tell you if it's under warranty. If so, they'll ship you what you need.
      Hope this helps.

    Is there a way to do this physically? It seems like the "Up" button on mine is broken. The black and down buttons are fine but the up doesn't respond when pressed at all.

    Easier to follow than any other video I've watched on this topic. I just installed the B1381 and have much more slack in the belt than what I see in this unit. How much is too much slack?

      Thanks! 💯
      You don't want the belt touching the rail when it operates the door. If it does, tighten it up a little.
