I found the trick is to make the door so the rubber weather stripping at the bottoms barely touches the concrete. Then opener automatically allows the door to gracefully fall into place the last 2 in. Like a built in soft close feature. Use the arrow to slam in into its final resting spot will activate the safety feature when adjusting and ruin the adjustment process. Hope this helps!

Sounds like you are a pro. I followed the Chamberlain instructions multiple times. I watched your video once. The programming fails to set the open limit every time. It continues to hit the bump stop. I even set the the open limit to about half open and when done it still raises to the bump stop. Chamberlain is beyond slow to respond. Compliments on your video, that is the way it is supposed to work.

Request back wages from Chamberlain for providing this valuable resource. Their manual is a bolloxed up mess to understand. I tried their 800#, but that explanation on programming wasn't any better. When we couldn't get the unit to respond to input, they suggested I need a logic board. After waiting a month and a half, I went back to Lowes., and they were great. I only had to exchange my motor unit with the bad logic board, with a new motor unit, took it home, and with your video to program, it's now up and running and working great. I apparently didn't have to set the force, b/c after setting the up and down travel, the light blinked 10 times, the unit went up and down by itself and then stopped. The wall button was blinking, I pushed it twice to syncro it, then watched your other video on programming remotes, and now everything works as it should. Contact Chamberlain and tell them you'll help them re-write the instructions.....................for a fee of course. Your instructions were to the point, and spot on and easy to follow and understand. I appreciate it. Thank you. By the way, my unit is a Chamberlain, model C2102.
I really appreciate the kind words! Glad you got it up and running. I try and make easy to follow videos. I'm with ya, Chamberlain show me the money! 💯💪🏼
Good video, I'm trying to figure out why my garage door opens all the way on it's own. Not sure if it's a weird coincidence but it's happened when I've stepped out of my front door to leave for work and when I've come home from work.
Either someone else's remote is opening it or some out side signal. Easy fix, clear the memory. Press the learn button and hold it in until the LED light goes out. You'll have to reprogram remotes and the keypad. 👍🏼💯
I have a HD420EVP and I did the troubleshooting codes but it still fails to go down all the way without returning upwards.do you think I need a logic board?Any suggestions?
Here's what I would do. Get the Model number and serial number handy. Call Chamberlain tech support. If anything is faulty on that machine they will know the warranty. They are really good at honoring that.

@@hamer3mark how does the door feel manually? Can you pull it up halfway and let go without it falling to the floor? 4-1 error is definitely a force control issue.
Great video..... So how do I readjust the down travel distance after programming? Do I have to go through the up travel and re-set it etc? When it travels down it stops and makes a click sound like it has bottomed out or overloaded. Guy that installed it said that is normal... Been working for about 6 mos but I do not like the sound... Broke the pulley now.
J and S T. Ouch! If it broke the pulley then it's definitely set to hard. Yea, unfortunately you have to go through the programming steps again. But it only takes a few minutes. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the video.my problem is always once I’ve set the down limit and then try the force control the door always tries go past whatever limit I’ve set. And then just the door just opens again. I even set the travel limit about 6 inches above the ground but still continues to over open. Is this a travel module issue?
@@JaffaRoad big yellow circle. Try this. Go over to your wall button. Flip the lid open. In the upper left corner. You'll see a button that says learn. Press it two times. Go to your keypad and enter your four digit code. Then press enter. That's another way to program remotes or keypads.
This video is great. I took down a unit that was over 15 years old to buy a newer version. Didn’t know what I was doing. Your video makes this look like cake. So if the power goes out do I have to do this all over?
I have the Liftmaster 8500, excessive force error. The 8500 is up like 16 ft, but I do have a control on the wall. What button is equivalent to that black button for wall controller?
I am in need of help. I have the same opener as in this video. When it opens, the trolley slams because it's going too far. I set travel limits like you said and stop it about 2 inches from the end. It works perfectly for several open and close cycles. The next day it's back to slamming open. It seems like it forgets the travel limits set. I have a Chamberlain HomeLink bridge connected as well. Could this be causing the issue? Thanks in advance
Home Link bridge is alright. It wouldn't cause that issue. I would call Chamberlain tech support, have the model # and serial # ready. If I was a betting man I'd lay my money down it's either a control module or Logic board.
I’m getting an error code 15 that I have been able to fix by unplugging everything for a bit. I’m gonna try to reprogram it to see if it will keep me from getting this error in the future. If not, guess I will replace the logic board. Thanks for the video!!!!
Great video. Had a problem with my wired wall mount control pad not working no open/close, light, lock, or learn. LED flashing. I’ve brought the 750. And all day yesterday we have a major issue. At times the garage door will operate but at first as it closing it will come right back up reaching around where the sensors are. Can you give me some tips what you think my issue is
Make sure the sensors are in line. If it reverses and clicks 10 times, then that's an indication the sensors are misaligned. Just reposition them on the vert track. B750 is an awesome machine. Super popular here in Austin TX 😎.
Is there a way to do this physically? It seems like the "Up" button on mine is broken. The black and down buttons are fine but the up doesn't respond when pressed at all.
@@michaelschaefer9424 your safety sensors aren't in alignment. You need to square them up a little bit better than what they are. 10 flashes means sensor issue.
Richard I know it’s been some years but I have this same unit but my problem is my key pad stopped working so I bought a new one and it also isn’t communicating with the inside unit. Any ideas. I’ve went through all the reprogramming things but it still doesn’t work.
Does your remotes work just fine? Those keypads are really easy to program. It's a matter of just pressing and releasing the learn button, enter a four digit pin, press enter twice. If it's not picking up It could be some signal from the house that's interfering or the receiver is having an issue.
@@garagedoorgenius yes my car remotes work good, I even bought the same key pad new yesterday and went through all those push this button steps but still nothing. Things like this drive me crazy
What should I do if the limits get stuck before are in the expected limit, just get a sound and door back to the other limit without allowme to configure them, this start happening every time I got a power issue
Garage Door Genius I’m adjusting it now. I have another question.. one of my sensor lights is green and the other one is orange is that normal or both should be one color
We programmed it to open and close and after it’s programmed we press the arrow down (one time) it goes down passes the sensors and opens back up. Don’t understand what is going on
@@jqmylife9805 so when it reverses and goes all the way up, does it blink or click 10 times? If so ,💯 sensor issue. Check the wiring at the opener, check and make sure no staple is in the wire anywhere, check anything relating to the sensor and wire. If it doesn't blink, then there is another issue going on.
I tried this and it all works fine when I test it, but when I leave and use my garage door opener from my car, the garage door does not go all the way upward like I set it to do. Thoughts?
After programming when you close your door is there a slight bow in the square bar with chain about 1 1/4 inch below the bar? Instructions say some chain droop is normal but doesn't state how much. I've set this about a dozen times and always get a slight bow in bar! Only time bar doesn't bow is when you can see light through door seal at the bottom and door is not fully closed. Is yours bowing when you close the video doesn't show the bar when closed!
Rick Oneill also I have found on some of these machines when you set the down limit don't set it so tight against the floor because when it makes its final run it will actually sit a little tighter from where set it at hope this helps you thanks for watching and let me know if you have anymore questions
Garage Door Genius Yes Thank You I have to set the down travel where I see a little light through door seal. When I set it to where seal touches floor when it closes it closes further than what I set it to be.
Rick Oneill Awesome I'm glad you got it adjusted properly! Yeah for some reason some of those machines set perfectly to the floor other times you have to set it off the floor just a weee bit.
I found the trick is to make the door so the rubber weather stripping at the bottoms barely touches the concrete. Then opener automatically allows the door to gracefully fall into place the last 2 in. Like a built in soft close feature. I really appreciate the awesome comment 😊. Glad to help!
Wonderful explanation, thanks a lot Garage Genius
Thank you for this wonderful comment! 🙏

@@garagedoorgeniuspretty sure the warranty expired ( over 20yrs old).I wonder if removing and reinstalling the logic board would “reset” it?
@@mustafael-amin9163 I don't think that would help. I mean you can try it.
If it's got a yellow learn button it's definitely not 20 years old.
@@garagedoorgenius ,correct.the manufacturing date was 2015.And reinstalling the old logic board didn’t work.
@@mustafael-amin9163 dang that sucks. Normally parts warranty is 5 years. You could buy a new board or just replace the machine unfortunately.
Thank you sir!!
I’ll echo the rest of the comments.
Chamberlain support should just link to this video!
Thank you for the comment!
Hola señor Richard... the unit we have is a chamberlain whisper drive plus... I will google it to find out more information about it... thank you so much for sharing this video....
Whisper Drive plus I believe the adjustments are on the side of the unit. You wanna back off the (down limit) if the opener is closing to hard.
You'll need a flat head screwdriver.
Thank you so much señor Richard for the tip I think my son(teenager)will follow all your advice and tips...may God bless your business with plenty of work and new customers...Gracias!!!
Very helpful. But I still have the 4-1 error on the keypad. Springs are not broken and I have reprogrammed the limits - twice. Now what? Thanks.
@@hamer3mark how does the door feel manually? Can you pull it up halfway and let go without it falling to the floor?
4-1 error is definitely a force control issue.
Easier than the Chamberlain manual! Great video.. thanks!!
No problem and you're welcome!!
Good job mate
Keep it up
This is perfect job
Thanks
@@japysingh1986 thanks 🙏🏼!
OK, thought that was the case... Gotta wait for another pulley from Azon....
Can you make a video of how to program a Chamberlain opener manufactured in 2022 or newer with the Step Saver feature?
I sure will!
Thanks for the video.my problem is always once I’ve set the down limit and then try the force control the door always tries go past whatever limit I’ve set. And then just the door just opens again. I even set the travel limit about 6 inches above the ground but still continues to over open.
Is this a travel module issue?
Travel module would be my guess. I would contact tech support. Have the model and serial # ready. May get one for free. 👍🏼
@@garagedoorgenius thank you
@@richparker8416 no problem!
Which is the learn bottom for changing the code on the key pad?
The circle yellow button. 👍🏼
@@garagedoorgenius thanks - the big yellow circle or the little one? I tried both but neither seems to get the keypad to "take" a new code,
@@JaffaRoad big yellow circle.
Try this. Go over to your wall button. Flip the lid open. In the upper left corner. You'll see a button that says learn. Press it two times. Go to your keypad and enter your four digit code. Then press enter. That's another way to program remotes or keypads.
Thanks for the help man couldn’t of done it with you buddy

Thank you very much for your easy way to fix my door issue and because of your video I did it and fixed the adjustment !!

This video is great. I took down a unit that was over 15 years old to buy a newer version. Didn’t know what I was doing. Your video makes this look like cake. So if the power goes out do I have to do this all over?
Thank you for the comment! 💯
The settings should stay in a loss of power event.

Quik programming video , very cool and helpful. Thanks 👍👍👍
You're welcome!
@@garagedoorgenius Thanks for the quick response. Will try that.

Tried everything and then tried just pressing the pad repeatedly slowly 1 press at a time, after 5 or 6 presses it works. Seems it came unsynced. Felt the need to share hope it helps. Cheers.

Did not work for me :( I see that one side is orange and the other side is green on the little scanners on the side of the garage door.

Garage Door Genius
I’ve notice that that lights keep blinking multi times. Let me try that. Been working on it since 9am this and all day yesy

Is there a way to do this physically? It seems like the "Up" button on mine is broken. The black and down buttons are fine but the up doesn't respond when pressed at all.
My down arrow lights but it doesn’t go down and the lights flick three times but the door won’t go down what’s the issue??
Flicker 10 times?
Door won’t go down
@@michaelschaefer9424 your safety sensors aren't in alignment. You need to square them up a little bit better than what they are. 10 flashes means sensor issue.
@@garagedoorgenius thanks !! I got it !! 👍
@@michaelschaefer9424 awesome 😎! You da man.
Also two make sure that the machine doesn't have LED light bulbs in it. A lot of LED light bulbs will put out interference.
@@garagedoorgenius yes my car remotes work good, I even bought the same key pad new yesterday and went through all those push this button steps but still nothing. Things like this drive me crazy
Thank You , Keep Up the Good Works

What should I do if the limits get stuck before are in the expected limit, just get a sound and door back to the other limit without allowme to configure them, this start happening every time I got a power issue
@@felipemorasolano1836 so you can't reprogram the limits?
I know it recommends 6in off the da ground. What do you recommend
Anywhere from 2-6 inches..
Garage Door Genius I’m adjusting it now. I have another question.. one of my sensor lights is green and the other one is orange is that normal or both should be one color
@@jqmylife9805 that's normal. 1 green and 1 orange.
Your video helped me, Thank you so much.
@@jvedrine2002 I really appreciate the awesome feedback!
Rick Oneill
Yes, the rail will now a little. Not a big bow where the belt sags.
Rick Oneill
also I have found on some of these machines when you set the down limit don't set it so tight against the floor because when it makes its final run it will actually sit a little tighter from where set it at
hope this helps you thanks for watching and let me know if you have anymore questions
Garage Door Genius Yes Thank You I have to set the down travel where I see a little light through door seal. When I set it to where seal touches floor when it closes it closes further than what I set it to be.
Rick Oneill
Awesome I'm glad you got it adjusted properly!
Yeah for some reason some of those machines set perfectly to the floor other times you have to set it off the floor just a weee bit.
