My sixteen y/o son came in the house after a walk the other day. I suspected he was smoking, but didn't know. I asked him "were you smoking?" He asked "why would you ask that?" I told him because cigarette smoke sticks to your hands and you can smell it." He immediately sniffed his hands. Caught!

A study proved that detectives who believed they were really good at "detecting" lies could actually detect a lie 50% of the time. In other words, they might as well have flipped a coin.

Most people who are experts at deception, like car salesman, will try to keep you distracted and disoriented to pull you away from the fact they're lying.
I've seen people get lynched on the sales floor and walk out with a smile simply because they thought the person was nice and wasn't pushy yet the sales person makes an extra 5000 on the back end even though they are convinced they got a good deal, i've also seen people get angry when they actually get an amazing deal because the seller didn't manipulate them into a false sense of security, people simply want to be convinced they did the right thing but they wouldn't know what a good deal looks like even if it hit them in the face ...
The minute you decide to rely on someone else to dictate your purchasing power then you've lost control over the situation ...
Arm yourself with knowledge and understand the market, cross reference out the door price points from multiple dealers this information is available to you ONLINE, assess what you're willing to pay for it and what the competitors are offering and set reasonable expectations, print out your annual free credit report to evaluate your score, and for gods sakes know what you want before you step foot into a dealership.
Understand these people have to provide for their families so don't get upset when they try to extract as much value from you ... Its the second biggest purchase you'll ever make so its safe to assume that you'd actually know what that item is worth and what you're willing to pay for it but most people don't ... they let the sales person decide that for them because they are clueless.

Also the itching thing isn't true.. I get itchy ALL THE TIME. I was asked a question that can be proven to be true and got itchy and aggressive because I felt I wasn't being believed. I don't think she understands everyone does have a different perspective and different experience.. if a person has been truthful but has been called a liar most their life it creates certain behaviors.

And worst part that you can't explain that feeling to anyone questioning you because they will definately in their head think you are being deceptive and lieing. Thank you so much for this comment, I was reaching to a point in life where I think I'm losing it because no one understands me and I started convincing myself that something might be wrong with me due to behaviors. But your comment just kicked me back into reality and helping me understand more about myself in this chaotic unforgiving world.

I went thru a number EP schools that were big on observation psychology and pre incident indicators many that were by Paul Ekman. The whole function of security if Risk mitigation and seeing things before they occur is a major advantage. "Action beat reaction all the time"

Tbh I do alot of these when i'm not trying to outright lie to someone and stay somewhat honest. But i have noticed that when i am telling the truth and someone doesnt believe me and it's something trivial, i tend to overreact and it reinforces their idea that I am lying. It's a conundrum because I can't just be like "well you see if i was lying I wouldn't be doing that, I would be doing this or saying this." Lol

There is a guy where I live that is involved in Illicit drugs . He watches me like today GE is sitting in the lobby he locks his eyes in me and then he fidgets and he looks me up and down. Never taking his eyes off me. I am worried to leave my apartment. Some people already broke in while I was in bed.
People are always deceptive to save their own asses when they're on the line but the people that I cannot stand the most are the ones that lie so good and their excuses are so legit most of the time and you really have to watch them hard to bust their ass f****** around with your head

In short, you can tell when someone is lying when they emit a deafening 60Hz buzz.
You can tell a lot by how some people speak and pout there wards to gather if you can’t see them you know what race they are by there speech some off the time so watch and listen
Saying you're ok when you have a headache isn't the same kind of lie, as you're not doing it for a benefit...
how about when you go fishing and lie to the fish with a worm or a lure? Or how about when someone knocks on your door asking for donations and you tell them you have no money to give? Is that a good or bad lie? Just askin'
You need to observe their baseline to see if they differ. But it could mean they are just an anxious person.
The algorithm of the body from start to end was irrational in first examples.

You have to consider the person's baseline personality. If I was ever falsely accused of something, I'm doing all these deceptive behaviors but I'm more anxious at my base

Unless you are a PhD mathematician, you don't have the logic to determine what is "true" or "false". If you want to believe somebody is lying, go ahead. That is you're right. But you'd better not force your opinion upon them. You'd better not make important decisions based upon illogical inconsistent "feeling" of whether somebody is "telling the truth or not".
You better DAMNED well prove the truth absolutely FIRST. Until then, you had better ASSUME ALL INNOCENT (honest) UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY (dishonest).

I like the techniques but I don't understand the application. What does it matter if she is lying in a deposition? Don't you still need documents and other proof? Wouldn't you want a dishonest person to lie as much as possible on video so you can prove they are a liar later?

Video needs to be resubmitted with the volume readjusted. Even with headphones, some parts are not audible.
when my bf doesn't believe me, I always tell him "I swear to God"! and I Am and always tell him the truth. I also always bring religion into it. I always say, "I would not do this or that" in as a response to something, I say "It is up to God to judge and get even, not me." I never lie to questions as I am a very bad liar, and feel like my face turns red and lie is written all over my face. I always answer truthfully. I may omit some petty things though.
If someone attacks some times it's because YOU are the target. Or you're just too hot on the button or both.
