For example, a data analyst with a math/CS/stats degree can be taught the trade and assigned to collect and compare data from different militaries and report them. You can be a contractor working with the government ( no benefits long term short term more pay) or you work directly with the government but don’t get paid as much - short term- long term- you get more benefits in yearly income from 401k. With social security in retirement checks / benefits

I think if you are injured in the field, they will either relocate or retire you. I do not think field work is very much of an equal opportunity.
