I’m 41 and never weed eated before and wanted electric so I picked this up this weekend. I couldn’t figure out how to get the string back out halfway through the yard. There is not a telescoping pole on this. You can just adjust the handle position. It may feel a little long at first but you get used to it. My kids and the neighbor kid uses this and love it. My kids are 5'4" and 5'9", and the neighbor kid is 4'11 1/2". They are able to use my two EGO string trimmers with ease. I would like to advise, but I don't know how you are using it. The string could easily get shorter after 5 minutes of use if it is being run against the ground or into a fence. Then you would just need to bump the head and get more out. Are you used to an auto feed system? If you did come from an auto feed system then you may have never learned how to properly hold the trimmer to keep from burning up a lot of string because it just kept feeding it out.
@@AroundTheHome1 the mistake I made bought without auto feed strings. I will make sure not to run against ground. I will tried bumping head against to get string more out but I don’t know with on or off trimmer. Thank you for reply.

I would like to help, but I need more info. Is this brand new? Is it used? Have you had it for a while and worked fine until just now? Which head does it have, the Rapid Reload or the PowerLoad? What model is it?
Yes, from that one video over a year ago that was talking about batteries that were a year old. So that would be referring to batteries made in 2019 or 2018. The new 3rd gen batteries do not come from that batch.
@@AroundTheHome1 Am I following you right? Those after 2019 are ok? Just bought the ST1521S Came with the 2.5 ah, plus simple charger Battery is dated Aug 2020, also bought a 5.0 ah date on it Mar 2021. Are they ok?
Well, let's just say it is too soon to know for sure. I have one that was a 2018 and it went bad in 1 year. I did get it replaced under warranty. I have older ones that are still going and newer ones as well. So, the best I can tell something did happen around 2018 to 2019 on the batteries and that sucks, but so far I have no indication that my newer batteries will have any problem. But my 2 newer batteries are 1 and 1 1/2 years old respectively so they are still too new to know if they will pass the 4 year mark strong or not. That's what I know.
When the self feeding string function stops working, you will look at this machine as a piece of over priced junk. It stopped working at the 5 1/2 year mark, just outside the warranty period.😮
*I have used Stihl for over 20 years 🌴 **allabout.wiki/EGO** and after reading some reviews of this trimmer, I tried EGO Power+ , and I'm going to switch. Compared to several Stihl trimmers I've had, this one is easier to start, quieter, and feels at least as well built . A major plus is it doesn't have the wonky, always leaking, complicated gas tank caps that Stihl has.*

So glad to help.
Thank you for teaching this 80y/o g-mother! Simple is for me!
Happy to help!
God bless you, Melba. I fired my gardener and do my own lawn now that i am retired. It's good exercise and saves money in the short run.. It's a lot of work but these tools are so easy. I see my neighbors scratching their heads and the next thing I know they've' gone electric too. I hope to get to be where you are.
Great informational video!! This helped me get this yard together in no time!!

I just bought the multi-head unit edger/whacker combo, and it’s amazing. I had the B&D with auto feed, which feeds so quickly, that it would go through 20 feet of line in less than ten minutes. I disabled that feature and it’s now a manual feed.
Sounds great. Enjoy your new tool. Here is our webpage with everything EGO on it. www.aroundthehome.org/ego-power-plus.html
New homeowner here, and this video definitely helped out, can u do one using it as an edger please? Bought this exact one

How do you put the strap ( which I ordered from the company) so it equals the weight. It's the shoulder strap. We can't figure it out

I've gone through a lot of trimmers and the biggest problem I have is line feed, especial from bump head models. How does this one hold up? I like every aspect of it and will probably end up getting one. Like your videos...thanks!! Like that it's not made in China also lol!

We got one and the line keeps unwinding and coming back out on both sides. Eventually after winding and using it gets tangled and you can’t bump it to extend the line and then have to open and pull the tangle out, any suggestions?
Got both of your questions. I wanted to make sure that you had the PowerLoad Head and not the Rapid Reload head.
How would I edge the driveway with the trimmer angled? Are you still cutting to the left side of your body so the dirt/etc. isn’t being thrown to you?

How do you install the shoulder strap
I was hoping that you would have gotten a response by someone in the community. I don't have the strap, but maybe that's something I need to get. Is this the one? www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01HPMQEXM?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&th=1&linkCode=ll1&tag=greatwhitenin-20&linkId=805439bd025b0d3fc4a7924b63fc76ae&language=en_US&ref_=as_li_ss_tl

Can you use the ego edger in place of the trimmer on the older model?
I'm not entirely sure what you are asking. You can use the edger around the driveway and sidewalk, but that doesn't help around the house, fence, trees, deck, ect.
Great video! Thank you!
You are welcome! Here are some newer videos as well. For the Rapid Reload Head - ua-cam.com/video/UwV79MyXdY8/v-deo.html For the PowerLoad Head ua-cam.com/video/vvZ40-TjwvM/v-deo.html
Can I change heads with this to the rapid reload one?
Need to sharpen the blade from time to time, that trims the end of the line. Also use the tip of the string to cut the grass , or weeds.
I cannot figure out the telescoping ... how do I make it shorter? it's so long, for someone 6foot tall .....
Thanks for watching and don't forget to stop by our website for many more helpful videos. www.greatwhiteninja.com
String get shorter after 5 min use very frustrating please advise, thinking returning to store back
I would like to advise, but I don't know how you are using it.

@@AroundTheHome1 it was missing a spring now it works great thanks
Oh, that is great! Glad to hear.
Heard the new batteries are junk.
That's what I know.
thank you sir

I was here for the dumb question
When the self feeding string function stops working, you will look at this machine as a piece of over priced junk. It stopped working at the 5 1/2 year mark, just outside the warranty period.😮
Hard to take this serious when you have an orange as your profile pic. Does it try to pull the string in still?
*I have used Stihl for over 20 years 🌴 **allabout.wiki/EGO** and after reading some reviews of this trimmer, I tried EGO Power+ , and I'm going to switch. Compared to several Stihl trimmers I've had, this one is easier to start, quieter, and feels at least as well built . A major plus is it doesn't have the wonky, always leaking, complicated gas tank caps that Stihl has.*
