I have the same model! Love that thing. I really like Ego's pre cut line that is half yellow, half pink. Really makes it easy to know when you are halfway when installing new line.

Hey, Joel! It is awesome. Great minds think alike. I haven’t seen that line, but that is brilliant. I’ve seen the precut orange line but not the 2 color ones. I just bought a big roll of the black and green line off Amazon but I will have to try the stuff u r talking about next time!

So jealous of how easy that is to restring!

I've had all the EGO trimmers, and this one and the STX4500 (commercial) trimmers are their best. This one will last for years, and if the Powerload feature ever hangs or stops working, it almost always is that a leftover piece of string or something is impeding it. Open it, clear the impediment and it will work again.
The only (modern) problem with the trimmer is that everything is made of metal EXCEPT for the most interior part - the Powerload - tiny piece which is made of plastic! It will wear out, and that will be the point of failure. Only a problem if you keep it for a decade or more, ha!
The STX4500 is good, holds a lot of string, but restringing it takes a while. Its head is too thin making it difficult to turn 40 times. Also, you have to use a screwdriver or something to pull the cap and put the string in. Thanks for the video!

No problem. And thanks for all the input. That’s all great information from somebody I can tell knows what they’re talking about. One question…. How has the bump head held up?
II know it’s more wear and tear on the head than using the line IQ. My thought on the line IQ was one more thing to stop working that I don’t know how to fix. But the bumping will obviously cause more wear and tear.

These are nowein Australia love mine and prefer the bump head. Can't find anything negative about my domestic model. Now a super ego fan .

I like bumping too. So far it's honestly been one of my favorite tools I've ever owned. Perfect blend of power and convenience.

I already had a 4ah battery I got with a chainsaw, but it's pretty heavy on the string trimmer. I need to get the 2.5ah battery

I thought about that too. But after using it a few times, I didn’t think the 4 AH was too heavy. If you have a small yard, the 2.5 makes sense. WHO DEY

those stumps are a real pain. if you neatly stack some charcoal over the top of the stump, likght it, and let it go. it burn it out really good. my neighbors use my method and they love it. also try to do it on a calm day.

That first big one I’m working on, I burnt it for several days. It was huge at one point. I just kept piling sticks on it. Charcoal is a good idea tho. Thanks for the tip!
