But I never learned the names of the foods because I only cared of eating as a child. I’m so happy to encounter your video. Thank you so much.

I worked at a University and had many students who spoke 2, 3, or 4 languages. English was the newest addition. My favorite memory was of a Lebanese woman studying early childhood education. She wrote of watching the small children she taught “ripening like sweet fruit before my eye.” It made me cry- such a wonderful image. Her professor didn’t understand and marked her down. Refika, your English is great…much better than my Turkish… which is nonexistent. 🤣 Bahar, in America the idea of using mint in a sandwich is not a thing. I feel like mint is one of the least used herbs in American food. Maybe my fellow Americans can correct me by reminding me of recipes, other than drinks, that we use mint in. Refika has taught me to love both fresh and dried mint in lots of savory dishes. Yum 😍
Looks delicious! I love lavash bread for making vegetable wraps. When I went to Turkey several years back I was instantly impressed with the food. I loved, loved, their soups with crusty bread. It was simply fabulous as was Istanbul! ❤️❤️❤️

Happy birthday to Burak! I love lavash! I'm going to have to try this! Bahar: Where I live in the US mint is used mostly for tea and sweets. It's unusual to use it for a savory dish. When I first encountered it in Lebanese food I thought it odd, but grew to love it. (I've got four kinds of mint in my garden. I may be a bit over the top!)
Oh how I’ve missed watching you cook and teach! Work and life get in the way so easily! But your simple explanations of how simply one can cook yummy stuff...? Marvelous! Hope to visit Turkey one day soon! Cheers from California!

Refika u amaze me every time. I made this braed in mornings for my son but wd lods of butter and we make it crispy with fried egg and a cup of chaey. This technique is sooooo good and i m in love wd it. Thank alooot.
Dear Refika, dear team... I am loving this so much. There is no flatbread culture in Czechia anymore. It used to be thou and there are some hipster movements to get it back onto the tables - stalls with cheese filled lokše (flat bread made of potato dough) are popping here and there. But when I say to my grandparents that I do not buy white bread anymore but I can whip up an amazing primal bread in a couple of minutes - they think I have finally lost it. :) I have been doing this "easier" lavash for some time now and I always had this bad feeling that I am cutting corners too much. But since I have a blessing of the magnificent Refika now, I can do it in peace. Greetings from Prague.
I like the way you cook with detailed explanations. This encouraged me to try to cook esp the lavash bread. Also I appreciate so much the exact measurement of the ingredients that serves me to take note as guide for repeated cooking. Keep it up and certainly I will share you YT channel to my family and friends. Excited on your next cooking videos. Stay safe
I tried this today. I covered the "lovers" (that's what speak recognition did two Lavash and I liked it) under a kitchen towel so that they don't get dry . but then they tasted like unsavoury crepes. I didn't like that taste, so I put them back in the pan and let them cool off on a rack. Much better :-) Great Channel by the way.
Your crew is so happy! I love the way you celebrate everyone’s skills and interests. I made this version of lavash with gluten free flour and a bit of psyllium powder. Wonderful
Please please don’t apologise for your English, you speak it beautifully and very eloquently. I’m going to be making these for lunch today with a salad, halloumi and avocado. After watching your videos, I’m confident it will be delicious x
@@Refika lunch was a big success. I made a version of your protein bomb salad, I only had a green pepper, so I added some cherry tomatoes along with the green pepper, I used fresh coriander instead of dill and I used fresh cucumber instead of the pickles because I didn’t have them. My lavash was more like a pancake than a bread that yours seemed to be but I think I needed a different pan - I used a cast iron skillet. The taste was great though. X
I just made these for our lunch!! I made them with Besam flour, and did the borek with cheese, tomatoes, parsley salt and pepper!! They were so good! Thank you for such a great, easy quick recipe, perfect timing as I have no bread in the house, and my oven has just committed suicide!! Bravo xxx

I love your explanations of Turkish language and what it means. My husband is Turkish and while I've said Afiyet olsun so many times, I finally understand its meaning.
Wonderful episode, Refika. I so appreciate the combination of delicious recipes, useful techniques, seeing your wonderful team, and learning about Turkish culture and traditions. The explanation of the "health to your hands" exchange with the always charming Bahar was especially lovely -- what a beautiful sentiment. Sending birthday wishes to sweet Burak and best wishes to your entire team! Looking forward to your next episode!

I am happy to see a quick lavash!!! I've been wanting to make your other one for a while. I feel this will be a good starter one and when you fold it over it reminds me of a quesadilla. I know the family will love this! I still need to make your other one, perhaps on Mother's Day! Thank you everyone!!!
Hope you all enjoy 🥰🥰
The cultural expressions at the end were so beautiful. So much to love about Turkey, including the food ♥️ good health to you and your loved ones!

It is common for Turks to call everything "Turkish". Lavash has been known and will always be "ARMENIAN".
You guys just made my day 🤗🥰such a fantastic fun, talented and kind team. Exactly what I need tomorrow ‼️simple bread I received my vaccine and totally sick and can’t go out 😩 you are an angel 👼🏻 thank uuuuuuu🙏🏻 💗 from 🇨🇦
I love lavash, and I had it with some mozzeralla cheese with some pecan nuts and it blew my mind. Awesome turkish food and I love your channel

Happy birthday to Burak ! Wishing you a long and happy life !
I love this recipe, so quick and easy …
In my culture ( Algeria ) we say « may god give you health and strength » when someone makes great food ! And in response the person says « may he give you a longer life » … I will probably try this for lunch today ! Thanks
Ps: I like the old kitchen better though :( this one feels a bit tight and less homey :( )

I love your videos. You have opened up a whole new world of food & cooking for me here in Canada. I love that the recipes are both easy & delicious. Your falafel has become a staple in my home. 🙂

Great English , we appreciate so much that you are making these videos in English. I love Turkish food .This is a great easy recipe. Thank you
Love al, your videos and have made many of your beautiful recipe. Çok tesekkür ederim
This looks delicious! Thanks for including vegan dishes!
I LOVE your accent. I particularly like the way you pronounce Winegar. It makes me smile each time. Don’t change. England has many accents, yours is just as valid
Yum 😍
A big use of mint is in toothpaste! Also, candy. I add mint to peas and also to carrots.

Mint with roasted lamb. And lamb roasted with rosemary, which isn't mint, but it's great with lamb.
Looks delicious! I love lavash bread for making vegetable wraps. When I went to Turkey several years back I was instantly impressed with the food. I loved, loved, their soups with crusty bread. It was simply fabulous as was Istanbul! ❤️❤️❤️
I love lavash! It's one of my all-time favorite breads!
Mine as well! Easy, delicious and versatile, right 🥰
@@Refika I love that you're using your leftovers from the week. Because food prices have spiked where I live, a lot of people are learning to use their leftovers for the first time. This type of content is very valuable and timely. I'll share on my social media.
i must try this at home too
Hi Refika, You make a meal with the very basic ingredients and with leftovers. Pragmatic and economically sensible, especially when it comes from a loving person as you’re with a generous loving heart!! Lots of love and blessings to you and to your team from the Midwest of the U.S!!

#Sweetdesert #favoriteeasycookingPlease don't apologize for your English. You all are brilliant! The fact that you can clearly and enthusiastically teach complex ideas while speaking a second language is amazing.

Much better :-)
Great Channel by the way.
Thanks so much!! Please let me know if you like it or not 😘😘
@@Refika lunch was a big success. X
