That’s what happens with hard landings. Just think once you epoxy it back and you do another arrival, sorry, landing like that then it may pull a chunk out of the fuselage instead of just removing the gear . The smaller amount of glue may actually save the fuselage in case of a hard landing. As of this week I’ve had over 60 flights with my Super Timber with no issues on the landing gear ( so far !) but if I do knock it off I’ll re glue with four spots of superglue on the corners, so it can be sacrificial and help save the fuselage if landing hard. Nice flying by the way 👍🏻
Stuff happens Wayne, I reinforced mine after watching this video. Extra epoxy never hurts anything. I am sure you got that repaired already and will keep more air in the tires to keep the bead in place. I am like Jeff in Lower Alabama and am going to put Grand Tundra tires on mine so I do not have to hassle with the air tires each time I go flying this beast. Good video enjoyed the education.
This is something that can also happen with the first version of the Timber. It happened to me too!😂 If the large flaps are completely lowered during landing, they slow down the plane considerably, so much so that the risk is that it will descend like a stone. You need to gain experience, if there is a lot of wind it is better not to use the flaps or only use the take-off ones. I saw that many have modified the sign with dampened suspension, I think that too is a good idea, also because this version is even heavier than the first!!
Interesting capture of the event. I watched the final seconds several times. It almost looked like the gear got a little snagged with a front to back sheer. The actual sheering force doesn't look that powerful.. maybe five mph on impact? Makes me think that good glue should have absorbed that.
This happened on my maiden flight. I was long and hot. Tried to execute a go around. Gear came right off. I sent it back to Horizon and they replaced it. I don't know how to make sure it doesn't happen again. Such a fragile construction! Any suggestions?
This model Timber has now been out for a while. I've seen several YT videos where similar landings have resulted in the same gear damage as you've recorded. Ps. I'm still flying the original Timber 1.5. One Timber is enough for me.
I’ve seen a few videos also , hoping mine would be ok nope. I had the original Timber also gave it to my son in law and still flying. I guess Eflite will keep pushing them out as long as they sell😂
Comes as No surprise. Typical Cinderella Glass Slipper E Flite landing gear. E Flite airplanes fly so well, but across the board, their landing gear absolutely Sucks. I do have the Big Timber X, but had to replace the entire landing gear with Real Buch Plane landing gear from the Avios Grand Tundra. Now I have a real bush plane. One that lands on rough dirt roads, just like a Bush Plane should.
Replace pneumatic wheels. Hundreds of reports of bouncy landings. Use Dubro 4.5 inches ultra lite. The whole thing with pump, pneumatic tires is a waist of time. Poor design on a great flying airplane

Wayne great flying. Glad it just pulled off. Have tugged on my ST gear, so far so good. Jeff in LA USA
Thanks Jeff, wasn't a whole lot of glue on mine.

Thank you Tug.
Good flight Wayne . I saw this happen to someone else with this plane . Seems like not to enough glue. Glad you got it fixed up now .
Thank you Philip, yes very little glue, but there is now, epoxy that is.
I had to hot glue my landing gear back and I’m on my third set of tires my second right wing🤣👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾great flying
High maintenance plane 😂 thanks for watching my friend.

Hopefully with the generous amount of epoxy I put on it's good to go.
@@waynesrc1958 Of course, do the test, that point is very stressed by landings, especially the more violent ones like the one you did.
In my opinion the timber landing gear should re designed and replaced,,,yes I have owned timbers

Your right, very little glue on gear assembly, used epoxy to reattach the gear, haven’t had a problem since. Thank you for watching & your comment.

I used epoxy on my repair, also put epoxy on the two little carbon fiber rods within the gear assembly. Haven't had any problems since.
Can't see the plane when flying. And camera not on landing gear area when looking at broken gear.
What did you use for glue? Mine ripped off after 1 landing.
I used 30min Epoxy, lightly sanded some of the paint off before applying the Epoxy. Also Epoxied the carbon fiber tubes in.
What did you use to hold it down? Did that strengthen it much. I’m blown away with how little glue they used.
@@joebretto7566 I used a few 6s batteries that I put on top to hold it down. Held very well, no more issues.

$430 and this has been happening to a lot of these planes including mine. I wonder if Horizon is going to do something about it?
I doubt it, sure is lacking glue, epoxyed the snot out of it should hold up much better.

Great flights, sorry to see the landing gear broke off, must be a weak point on this model....jeff.
Thank you Jeff, gear is back on with epoxy just doesn't look as pretty.
Too much air in tires.
The gear is going to break on any plane when you land that hard. No slope.
I disagree, I have many planes with many not so good landings where the gear has survived. I did get hung up in the wind should have went around.
What's disappointing is that you failed to really show us the damage. Good work.
It pulled out of the fuselage, like I said ,what do you have to see?
Where the glues spots were or more importantly where they were not.
Those toy planes always fly too fast for their size.
They are glueing to paint... the paint comes off
Your right, plus their not using enough.
@@waynesrc1958 this happened to mine... i reattached with liberal amount of jb weld... after removing paint, of coarse...
..

Can’t see nothing lol
Did not look that hard😢
