I found that with my Aeroscout, channels 5 & 6 are hard coded for Safe and Panic modes. Sticks down and center with flipping the switch does not change that. Still lots of good info
OK, you are a genius! Could not assign a switch to SAFE using the toggle method on Conscendo Evolution. But YOUR vid worked like a charm with fwd programming on my NX10.
I have just purchased a plane as a PNP. I am relatively new to rc planes and, for some peace of mind, will be looking to instal a spektrum AR630 receiver as I do want to have the option of having SAFE assignable to a switch so I can toggle between AS3X and SAFE modes. I understand there is a bit more to the set-up beyond just connecting the servos to the receiver. Obviously I will create a new model on my transmitter (dx6e) but I am told that I need to 'program' the receiver specifically to the aircraft using a USB or bluetooth programming cable (the USB one is coded SPAM3065). It is this area that I am absolutely clueless on and hope you can explain (in 'idiot's guided' speak) what to do and/or refer me to one of your UA-cam guides that may exist covering the subject. Great video - I could not get Safe Select to work. The tip of checking the travels of 100% + - for left/right stick was key for me. I also like the info about Forward Program Mode.
In this video Tom explains to our fellow RC enthusiasts the 2 ways to setup SAFE SELECT on applicable models from E-Flite and Parkzone. One way, the older and more traditional way, is via stick and switch commands. BUT we also go over the new option when using a forward programming capable receiver and transmitter, such as the AR637TA, AR630 and AR631 with Safe Select firmware installed (this is what will come with your BNF models). Setup via Forward Programming is the best and easiest way to setup Safe Select, but it does require that you have a Forward Programming capable transmitter - Which could mean that you simply need to update your Spektrum Gen 2 transmitter. Here is a list of transmitters that DO NOT support Forward Programming - DX6i, DX6G2 (EU Version), DX7, DX7S, DX7SE, DX7G2 (EU Version), DX8, Non-computer transmitters
Perhaps I misread your meaning in the above statement where you define which Spektrum transmitters DO NOT support forward programming. My US version of the DX7 G2 Transmitter, with the latest firmware upgrade, does indeed support forward programming.
I have an nx8 radio and I already updated it, and I am trying to activate the safe select in my umx cirrus and with none of the two methods it works for me... the program forward method does not even appear on my radio. Since I bought this radio it has only been a headache, I stopped using it for a month and when I turned it on again everything had been misconfigured. Another ordinary day in one of the models one of the 3-position switches stopped working, the old specktrum radios worked better
Thank you for doing this video. Nice job explaining the ins and outs. You covered some really valuable points to keep in mind. Bravo! Keep the videos coming!
This was helpful! My problem was when the sticks go to the center, the dual rates were not on high and going to the monitor page pointed that out, it won’t work with the dual rates on low.
Speaking of the NX8 and a Carbon Cub S2. If I understand it correctly there is a difference between Safe Select and Safe. Safe has an intermediate function which means if you want to set it up you would want to do it on a 3 position switch. I used the (Carbon Cub S +) bind n fly template on the Radio, however I think the S + only had Safe Select. Am I going to have to build a plane from scratch on the NX8 or can I tweak the S+ build already installed to set up Safe? Also how do you turn off/disable expo when you are in Safe mode? I do not want to double up on the settings so to speak. Safe mode already has mixes and expo built into the programming. Sorry for the long request and thanks for any help you could provide.
I have a NX8 and have ordered the newly announced Turbo Timber and 90mm EDF Viper. I would like lessons on setting up telemetry for flight pack voltage via voice updates and also low voltage alarms. I will be using an earpiece and feel it can pretty much eliminate the timer. But no instructions anywhere on setting up telemetry. I am using all Smart batteries. Thanks. Bob Hoag
Does this work with non spektrum radios? I have safe enabled but I can't seem to assign the switch by holding the sticks and flicking the switch like the video?
That was a good demonstration on how to set up safe select but I have one question I have safe select working but they are working the wrong direction how do you change direction of the controls for safe mode ???
Thanks for sharing your experience with us. I set, as you say, my safe with the AR631, the moving surfaces have less excursion when it is on, but moving the plane they move little. Isn't there a system to increase the gains? Greetings from Italy.
Hi and tnxs for the video: 2 questions: 1) in Fwd Programming SAFE SELECT, there are 2 SAFE items, one just close to AS3X, the other at the bottom... both can be activated indipendently. What is the difference? 2) on a NX6, in order to have all 4 flight controls, flaps, gear, safe select/AS3X selection, reverser, I would like to assign SAFE SELECT/AS3X on the Flaps channel, having SAFE on flap down and Mid and AS3X with Flaps UP. However I see that unless the channel send a 100 value or anything above 88, Safe Select cannot be selected... why? Tnxs!
Ive had nothing but headaches with binding and safe select. One thing I like is the elimination of the bind plug. On some UMX models there is no plug or button. Why can't they all be like that ?
Thank you for this updated video. Just received my IX 20 transmitter, upgrading from my old but very reliable DX-9. It has been so long since I setup my planes, I forgot how I got my Safe Select programmed for my fleet of BNF planes. From what I am reading in your replies, planes like my original Timber will have to use the old method of enabling Safe Select, but planes like the Maul 7, or Cirrus SR22T I can use the forward programming method? One last question: Some models have 3 modes, i.e. full Safe mode, intermediate AS3X mode, and expert AS3X mode. Others only appear to have only 2: full safe mode or AS3X only. How do I figure out what each model is capable of?
Hi- I have a new Aeroscout. It has an AR 631 RX and it is bound to an NX 6. When I go into forward programming menu I keep receiving an error message “Connection Failed” when I click on gyro settings. I am using channel 5 (gear) for switch B. I have also tried using Aux 2 as suggested in the video and I receive the same error message. Any suggestions as to why would be greatly appreciated.
Hi JS. The Aeroscout is a different. It has SAFE and not SAFE SELECT. So there is no Forward Programming on that receiver. It may appear but it is actually not access able. Simply follow the Aeroscouts setup instructions to get the 3 Flight modes to work propperly. The Preset model file on your NX6 should do the trick if you want to avoid programming anything.
I have trouble with my BNF conscendo evolution, when i try to bind it doesn't wiggle, i have servo control immediately but no way to activate safe select , when I go to forward programming and click Gyro settings it says connection failed
How difficult would it to add a simple light to indicate if the receiver is in safe mode or maybe a dedicated status page on the transmitter indicating the AS3X/SAFE status. Me thinks your making this way to complicated.
Hope you're still answering questions, on my DX6e in safe it fly's fine when I turn off safe the trim is off very bad I can trim it out to fly but when you switch back to safe it's off again?????
I need a little more clarification on ax3 and safe modes. Your video and the manuals are a bit foggy on the topic of a X3 and safe. I want to be able to have the aircraft fly in ax3 mode all the time and then switch to safe mode when I need it. I find the instructions both on the video and in the manual a little hard to understand. If I want the aircraft always in ax3 mode switchable to safe mode in which of the two binding positions do I find the aircraft. A little more clarity here is needed
Is it possible to use the 3 pos C switch for F-Mode.....0=SAFE, 1=AS3X, and 2 = something else.....like LANDING for instance, where it will extend the flaps and drop the gear?
Spektrum Rc, i am trying to setup safe select on my DX6 with the AR630, their is no forward programming showing up on my DX6, can i used the bind plug system to set bind it in safe?
Had I been aware you need a computer programming degree I may have not bought my kid a plane. Impossible to find a quick answer for which switch to flip in a spectrum DXS to put it in safe mode and prevent another catastrophic crash
@SpektrumRC - I have a Maule M-7 with a AR631 receiver. Forward programming was an option on my NX8 and then I noticed that it’s no longer showing up. What could be the problem and how can I get it back? Additionally, I also lost Safe Select when forward programming went away. I’m guessing because that’s how I enabled it in the first place. Thank you very much for your assistance.
Make sure that you have the model turned on. The forward programming menu will not appear unless it is bound and connected to a forward programming device.
@@SpektrumRCvideos Thank you for your reply. I did know that the model needed to be on (i.e., that forward programming comes from the receiver). FWIW, I spoke with Horizon Hobby Customer Service this morning and they said my AR631 was bad and they are sending me a new one to replace it. Thank you again.
I have the nx8 and just bought the t28 Trogan 1.1. I looked in the bnf menu under e-flite and can't find this model. Is it under another name. Also I can't find the night radian also. Can you help me?
I have a NX10 and the scout with a AR631 receiver, I followed all thr options and instructions here, still not working the safe mode, the bind process work but the safe mode activation won’t work at all, please help, thanks
I'm having trouble with my carbon cub s2. When I bind my NX6 I get the yellow light and the transmitter acts like it's been bound then the light on the plane changes to flashing blue but I have no control of the plane. Any ideas?
When purchasing just the receivers you listed, Is Safe Select firmware installed.Or just BNF models purchased with Safe Select firmware installed receivers.
I can't get Safe Select to assign to a switch on a e-flite T-28. I have a Dx6e using all 6 channels for (1)throttle, (20ailerons, (3)elevator, (4)rudder, (5)gear for retracts, and (6)flaps. So does that mean I don't have a channel available to assign for Safe Select? Is the reason I can't get Safe Select to work is I have not available channel to assign it to?
I have a dx9 transmitter and used forward programming to set up safe select. If I'm unsure (or forget) which position is safe, how can I easily check that?
I just set this up today, it was relatively easy on an ARF with a 637T I purchased separately. My question is, I am using a DX6 tx and the plane has flaps so I have to use both Aux and Gear for them to work. How do I set up a SAFE switch?
i have receivers AR637TA on some planes. When i want use the Forward Programming it displays Connecting..... and after Connection failed.... i cannot access to the main menu with the gyro settings. How to resolve that ?
Please explain the following statement from the FAQs. I am trying to find in the manual where you are supposed to reverse Aux 1? "My airplane does not have much control throw and has nearly no down elevator. This is due to an error in the radio setup. Essentially the model is in Panic mode, controlled by channel 6 (Aux 1). Make sure you have this setup properly according to the manual. Most of the time, it is because reversing Aux 1 was neglected."
Is there a way to increase bank angles on safe select on BNF models or is it all locked? If it’s all locked, is the only option to unlock the receiver to customize it? TIA
Hallo 👍I have the dx6 v2 radio, but I can't programming one switch for save mode because all my channels are not free😢, channel 5 are flaps and aux 1 are the gear, another option for me for program a channel for save mode? Please 👍🙏
Does the Gen 3 DX6 allow you to bind 6 channels plus SAFE? I've heard SAFE can be bined to a ghost channel on a switch and still allows the other 6 channels to be used on a 6 channel aircraft.
Hi I've been trying to set up my valiant with safe select and as3x and I get the safe to work but not the as3x what am I doing wrong? I have it set on switch C and when I switch it up to the 0 position safe is on when I go to the 1 position safe is off but no as3x I want as3x in both positions please help Thank you Marty Mannisto from Canada 🇨🇦🛩🛩
I have switches available but my plane has retracts so I don’t have a channel that is not being used. I have Ar636a with a DX6. Plane is a T-28 with AS3X.
How come in Flight Mode 2 AS3X is on, Safe is off and Safe Select is off. But when you turn Safe Select on AS3X disappears and it turns to Fight Mode 1?
That P-51 came out before the ability to set Safe select in forward programming. So that version of the 637TA will not have FP access unless it is updated and flashed with a new or different model preset.
I have a Spektrum DX8 (2G). I operate it with mode 4 (ailerons on the left stick). My receiver is a brand new AR630.I tried many times to bind in SAFE mode but the control services only move once ! Any idea ? Secondly, when I want to assign a switch do I have to move both stick on the lower inside position (as described in your video) or do I have to move both on the lower left position, in order to have all controls at 100%. Your help would be very much appreciated ! JB Gaist / Switzerland
Just purchased the Blade 230 S Smart RTF last night but now thinking maybe I should have purchased the BNF & NX6 radio. I'll have 1-3 helis (1 for right now) but just not sure about binding the NX6 radio to heli & proper setup for a beginner that's not tech savey. Thoughts? also, question ... can one heli be binded to two radios? wondering if I bought NX6 radio while I fly RTF heli with the DXs radio can I bind heli to the new NX6 radio at same time while I learn radio but can fly heli also using the DXs radio?
Hi Mike! If you Bind your 230 to your NX6, you will need to rebind it to the DXs if you wish to switch back to that transmitter. Also, yes you can bind multiple helis to one transmitter, as long as the programming setup in the transmitter is the same. One of the beauties of the latest models from Blade is that the DXs is setup to fly most of them without any setting changes. So your DXs from your 230 will fly a 330 S, Fusion 360 Smart, and a couple new models coming out very soon :) Hope that helps!
Would the DXs transmitter allow me to set up my Habu SS like the factory Habu Sts ? Do I need to update the transmitter? Do I bind with the plug? Please help
The manual for the NX8 suggests using the safe template to set up a safe plane. I set it up for hte Carbon Cub S2, and got it working. But I added flaps, and if I change the wing type to 2 alerons 1 flap, then the safe select stops working, it's stuck in safe mode. I can only get it back when I change the eing type back to normal. But now I have no flaps. As a work around I can assign flaps to AUX7 and try a mix, but it's not going to give me the delay and such. Can you please fix this bug. I should be able to set us a SAFE BNC plane and then add flaps, and use the normal flaps menu without being stuck in SAFE mode forever..
Really enjoyed the video. I followed the setup and everything worked. However, when I start my NX8 and then plug in the planes battery there's a Warning message on my NX8. The message reads - ESC: 8.1V 0.0 A 32.OF I can use the clear button on the NX8 which gets rid of the message and takes me to the main window. Question is... 1. Is this Warning showing somethings wrong? 2. Do I have something setup wrong? 3. Is there a parameter in the NX8 I can change, maybe to 8.0V, so the warning message doesn't come on at 8.1V? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you
There is a warning you can edit to help prevent this. Go into telemetry, then select ESC, and change the warning to 8v or below. That said, it is telling you that the battery you plugged in is not completely fully charged. I assume it is a 2S lipo which should be peaking at 8.3-8.4v
I recently bought a timber turbo BNF and have problems with using aux2 on my DX6 to use as switch. Setup wise everything seems ok(every thinkeble menu option) but when looking in monitor aux2 is not moving in any situation. What´s wrong? can I check something some where?
Hi, is there a way to fine tune SAFE Select to give just the envelope protection without the self leveling? I saw a video for SAFE setup that allows this, but it must have been a different receiver. I have the AR637TA
Not with stock BNF Firmware/setup. If you flash it with open stock firmware and setup AS3X and Safe via forward programming on your transmitter then you can.
Aeroscout RTF and dxe. When I rebound and did the sticks in and down and 5 plus flight mode switch the modes are now backward. 0 is experienced and 3 is safe beginner mode! It works if I remember it’s backwards but I’d like it correct. How to fix???
Trying to set up a carbon cub s2 and a dx8e.. transmitter and plane are binded successfully and plane wags rudder a few times when powered on. I have all of the sticks set up so that they reach 0-100% like you said, and I have a 2 position switch dedicated on channel aux3. I'm running flaps on aux2... when I attempt to do the sticks down/in thing and flip the switch rapidly, nothing happens even after a minute of flipping the switch. Any suggestions? I've been fiddling with this thing for hours and I'd rather not be stuck in beginner mode.
Got a problem. Hopefully you can help. I successfully set up SAFE on my RV-7 with the AR631 Receiver and a DX9 Transmitter. I Made the mistake of assigning SAFE to switch "A" How can I move the SAFE over to switch "B". I tried moving both control sticks inwards and down while toggling switch "B" with no success. Can you please help me with this problem. THANKS.
I have the NX6 and when I look for the preprogrammed models for the BNF a lot of the models are missing. I have updated the transmitter many times but still missing lots of models. Any ideas?
Hi Joe. It is possible that they were deleted by accident. We have a backup file located here that can be saved to the radio to restore the presets that should be loaded on to the memory. drive.google.com/drive/folders/1uqWMFFdDBVh5k7KUAaUTfoJaHoBNly6w?usp=sharing
Im trying this right now, but i cant seem to assign the switch, i switch it in the channel select menu, put the aux2 on H switch, but its not giving any response in the travel…. Its not doing anything. Any help or what am i doing worng 😕
Finally i managed to set it with my NX8 the older way, for some reason when i try to enter forward programming with my Air Tractor BNF i get a "connection failed" error...
Jesus, my old dx6i and umx habu just worked out of the box with safe and such. Got an eflite v1200 and dx7 and literally nothing works. Can't seem to get the flaps to turn off and googling for an answer to why safe doesnt work lead me here. My god this has become so complicated.
Hello. I am trying to bind a nx8 to a aero scout with a ar631 receive and assign switch c to aux 2. It will not let me do it. If I try forward programming in gyro setting it says failed to connect. I have tried following your video to a t and I am lost as to why it won’t work. Note it does bind but not in the configuration I want. What am I missing?
Hi There! The Aeroscout does not have Safe Select like this video demonstrates. Flight modes (beginner, intermediate, advanced) are hard coded to channel 5 (gear). Panic mode is coded to Aux 1. Hope that helps!
Working with an NX6 and AR636B in an A-10 BNF. I have followed the tutorial but when I use the control stick method to assign safe select to a switch nothing happens. What am I doing wrong??
I can't get safe to turn off on my carbon cub s2... I'm about to put an ar620 on it or my ar630 I like as3x with low gains but I don't want safe....I don't want it to bank limit or self level.....and it's doing it in all 3 flight modes it's wierd
No on a safe select preset that comes installed on BNF planes. Otherwise if it is something that you setup yourself, you can certainly have a mode that disables all stabilization.
Interesting video, thank you. Is it possible to use the older and more traditional way, via stick and switch commands, to bind my DX6i to an AR630 receiver? I understand I would need a USB programmer cable to use Forward Programming software via the pc. What software do I need? Alternatively, I believe forward programming can be done using an phone App. Again, what is the name of the App? Would I need a wireless (bluetooth) cable rather than the USB programmer cable? Hope you can help me here.
Hi Robin, Using the stick method would be your only solution with the DX6i. At this time there is no USB or Bluetooth interface that allows for programming from another device. All programming is done via the Forward Programming Menu on a more current Spektrum Transmitter
@@SpektrumRCvideos Interestingly, I have just purchased a Blade 230S V2 heli as a BNF model and I can see that it is equipped with an AR636A receiver which has AS3X technology and 3-axis stabilization and is programmable from mobile devices and pc. There is a transmitter setup table (BNF) on page 6 of the Blade 230S V2 instruction manual specifically for the DX6i radio and I have input all those values directly into the transmitter. I understand the DX6i offers just two flight modes (NORM and STUNT) toggled using the gear/F Mode switch. There is no reference at all in the manual to programming using an app or pc connection, so what additional settings can forward planning offer that is not already set up in the radio via the standard menus? All I really want to be able to achieve is 2 flight modes; let's call them 1. STABILITY (where bank angle is limited and there is a reasonable amount of self-levelling) and 2. INTERMEDIATE, where bank angle is increased and less assistance with self-levelling. As I progress I could adjust these and have less reliance on the self-levelling effect of the gyro. Would certainly welcome comments/suggestions on the above.
@@robindavies7144 The AR636 (open stock or installed in a BNF model) does not support Forward Programming, as well as the DX6i as I mentioned above. Also the receiver in your 230 S is not programmable in anyway, they are locked for use in the 230. One thing you can do to accomplish your goal is to reduce the Travel on the gear channel (channel 5) on the Stunt mode position. so one side of the travel menu for gear(I believe it is labeled Gyro in this case) you will set it to -100% and the other 0%. That should do the trick
I have an NX8 and having problems. I can get safe assigned but when I move the switch out safe, the plane is in safe. I followed your video numerous times but to no avail. I am having the same problem with the 70 Viper and Habu STS. Should I just purchase a new DX8 v3 or what? This so frustrating.
Resolved! The Otter has the AR631 receiver and I just used the forward programming as described in your video and resolved the issue. I have a spare AR631 which I will install in the Habu so I can use forward programming. The Viper has this receiver so I can use forward programming on it also. I didn’t catch that on the end of the video so I apologize.
Thank you! Could not get safe select to work for hours. Forward programming got me up and going. THANK YOU!

After safe select is set in transmitter, can you switch to off select and program your dual rates and expo.. for your normal flying?
Hi and tnxs for the video: 2 questions: 1) in Fwd Programming SAFE SELECT, there are 2 SAFE items, one just close to AS3X, the other at the bottom... both can be activated indipendently. What is the difference? 2) on a NX6, in order to have all 4 flight controls, flaps, gear, safe select/AS3X selection, reverser, I would like to assign SAFE SELECT/AS3X on the Flaps channel, having SAFE on flap down and Mid and AS3X with Flaps UP. However I see that unless the channel send a 100 value or anything above 88, Safe Select cannot be selected... why? Tnxs!
Great tutorial
I havent been able to set up safe on my carbon cub s2 with the stock AR receiver and a new DX6E transmitter. Ive tried everything, can someone help?
Found this very helpful! Thanks! 😊
How difficult would it to add a simple light to indicate if the receiver is in safe mode or maybe a dedicated status page on the transmitter indicating the AS3X/SAFE status. Me thinks your making this way to complicated.
Hope you're still answering questions, on my DX6e in safe it fly's fine when I turn off safe the trim is off very bad I can trim it out to fly but when you switch back to safe it's off again?????
what about a switch to have either as3x or safe?
Can you use forward programming to customize SAFE on UMX models? I want to disable auto level and throttle/elevator mixing and just keep angle limits.
Great Video! Now it all makes a lot more sense...
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks I am having no success setting a switch for safe select on my ultimate 3d on my nx10. I will try this. Thanks also for going a little slower.
Had I been aware you need a computer programming degree I may have not bought my kid a plane. Impossible to find a quick answer for which switch to flip in a spectrum DXS to put it in safe mode and prevent another catastrophic crash
Agree, way to much info in this vid. They should make simpler videos also, next to the expert ones.
Agree to many step . Wish thay make it simple.
We are not all program abducted
@@JS-cm1kr Sounds like the receiver is perfectly fine then ;)
@@SpektrumRCvideos lol :-)
This is only on BNF models that come with these receivers. Is a special version of the code.
That is one of the limitation of a DX6 unfortunately... You will need to combine it with Flap or Gear Channel.
i have receivers AR637TA on some planes.
Depends on your transmitter how channel reversing is accessed. What radio are you using?
This was helpful Thank you I Have A DX6E.
Glad it helped :)
Please 👍🙏
I did as instructed on my Dx6e but when I go to the servo setup or monitor screen, aux 2 graphic does not move when I toggle switch! 🤷🏼♂️
Aux 2? 6e should not have a Aux 2... Either way, double check that you have a switch assigned to that channel in the channel assign menu
@@SpektrumRCvideos that’s what I thought, but it’s there!
Ciao, i have ix12 and i don't have auto-stabilization when i fly Blade 150s and 230s in "normal" mode. Can you help me please? Thanks.
Which method do I use for an AR637T receiver
I have switches available but my plane has retracts so I don’t have a channel that is not being used. I have Ar636a with a DX6. Plane is a T-28 with AS3X.
SAME IDK WHAT TO DO
Would this work for a DX6 transmitter?
Very helpful thank you for posting
How come in Flight Mode 2 AS3X is on, Safe is off and Safe Select is off. But when you turn Safe Select on AS3X disappears and it turns to Fight Mode 1?
I hqve the dx6e and there is no Formats programmiert on it
Thanks for the video. Why my AR637TA does not let me get into? It says fail connection.... Its a P51d 1.5 BNF and a Nx6 tx that Im using
That P-51 came out before the ability to set Safe select in forward programming.
Hi JB, sorry for the delayed response. Did the AR630 come in a Bind n Fly model?
Do you have to setup for every model or just once for all my models
set for each model.
Would the DXs transmitter allow me to set up my Habu SS like the factory Habu Sts ? Do I need to update the transmitter? Do I bind with the plug? Please help
Hi Michael! Yes the DXs from the Habu STS will work just fine on the Habu SS :)
Hi Leo, use the wing type 1 Aileron 1 Flap. Then in channel assign set AUX2 to Flap instead of AUX1. That should do it :)
Really enjoyed the video. I followed the setup and everything worked. However, when I start my NX8 and then plug in the planes battery there's a Warning message on my NX8. The message reads -
ESC: 8.1V 0.0 A 32.OF
I can use the clear button on the NX8 which gets rid of the message and takes me to the main window.
@@SpektrumRCvideos thanks for your reply which is much appreciated.
I will do those settings you suggested.
I recently bought a timber turbo BNF and have problems with using aux2 on my DX6 to use as switch. Setup wise everything seems ok(every thinkeble menu option) but when looking in monitor aux2 is not moving in any situation. What´s wrong? can I check something some where?
The DX6 does not support/have Aux2 (CH7) this is a bug with recent firmware for DX6 and DX6e
Sounds like the gear channel was reversed. There is a simple sequence explained in the manual on reversing channels.
Did you get any response? I have the same transmitter and the same issue. Pulling out my hair.
@Darrell Dozier unfortunately no, I ended up returning the dx8e because the power button was faulty. Ended up sticking to the basic DXS :/
THANKS.
Hi! Go into the channel assign menu and change Gear to Switch B. That should do it!
you said everything but one thing when you go to the 631 with a button ? Do you start the binding then push it again to stop it ?
Binding will only stop if the bind is successful, fails or you remove power from the receiver.
Which transmitter?
HI
FOR THE CONSCENDO EVOLUTION 1.5 , ITS THE SAME AS THE VIDEO? AND FOR BLIND IT CAN I USE THE BIND BUTTON IN THE RECIVER?
TKS.
Yes it is the same and yes you can use the bind button
what if my plane has gear and flaps and i’m using a dx6e
Finally i managed to set it with my NX8 the older way, for some reason when i try to enter forward programming with my Air Tractor BNF i get a "connection failed" error...
Can you please make one video for IX12, From Norway
Awesome video but 1 question. Did you have to manually type in "Safe Mode"? Or does it automatically come up after programming... Please thank you!
( I am using the NX6)
Sorry I am not exactly sure what you are referring to? Do you want a audio call out?
Thank you, issue resolved
Jesus, my old dx6i and umx habu just worked out of the box with safe and such. Got an eflite v1200 and dx7 and literally nothing works. Can't seem to get the flaps to turn off and googling for an answer to why safe doesnt work lead me here. My god this has become so complicated.
I did all that could not not get blue safe flight mode. Only red and green. Anyone know why?
@@SpektrumRCvideos Thank you. Well for now on I will buy bnf or pnp planes.
Is there any way to reverse switch for " safe mode " ? Because the position ON/OFF is reversed for me.
Yes, simply reverse the channel you used and it will reverse the switch
Working with an NX6 and AR636B in an A-10 BNF. I have followed the tutorial but when I use the control stick method to assign safe select to a switch nothing happens. What am I doing wrong??
Double check that you are in high rates and that the switch is assigned to a channel. Those are the 2 main reasons that procedure will not work
@@SpektrumRCvideos High rates are on and the switch is assigned to a channel. I've tried two different switches and no luck.
I can't get safe to turn off on my carbon cub s2...
I'm about to put an ar620 on it or my ar630 I like as3x with low gains but I don't want safe....I don't want it to bank limit or self level.....and it's doing it in all 3 flight modes it's wierd
Thanks for the video, Is it possible to switch off AS3X and Safe (NX8 and AR637T & TA))
No on a safe select preset that comes installed on BNF planes. Otherwise if it is something that you setup yourself, you can certainly have a mode that disables all stabilization.
@@SpektrumRCvideos Thanks for the reply, its an aftersales AR637T. to confirm this can be set to function purely as a 6 channel RX with no assistance?
How would I do this on an analog transmitter like the Spektrum DXs
The hold the sticks and flip the switch method
Hi, "Forward Programming" is no more visible on 4.0 NX8 update or it's just me?😬
maybe you already figured it out but the trans and the receiver have to be bound before forward programming appears in the list
@GentleFlyer yes that's it🤭 thx for helping 😉
Just bought a brand new UMX turbo timber evolution. Does not have forward programming available. Hardly an Evolution.
3:21 talked about AUX1 100% travel. you pikced AUX2 - CH7 which was not in the display
As long as it is a open channel it will work, just make sure the channel you pick is 100% travel
Sounds like you do not have the switch assigned to a open channel. Double check this in the channel assign menu
I have it assigned to aux2 which is an open channel for both the Twin Otter and Habu.
Which switch does it say AUX2 is assigned to?
Switch B
In your video, it says on the screen "safe select". I guess this is just for NX radios? Can I see that also in my two DX (6 and 8) radios?
That is just what we named the model for this video :)
