Good choice. "Jet City Woman" is another great tune from the same album. It's a rocker and really shows off Geoff Tate's range. And did I mention it rocks?😁
Great recommendation. Another great one is “Hold on to the Flame”, live in Tokyo 1984. Completely different vocal performance than this one and also really shows Geoff’s range while rocking hard.

Great reaction. “I Will Remember”, from MTV Unplugged might be a song that you may like. Another great ballad of Queensryche that showcases Geoff Tate’s voice.
A lot of "hair" bands during this period were releasing ballads like this. Extreme - More Than Words, Poison - Every Rose Has It's Thorn, Motley Crue - Home Sweet Home.
Check out 'I Will Remember', I actually love that song more than I love Silent Lucidity. Then do 'Suite Sister Mary', for one of the most epic emotional musical experiences you will ever have.

You’re listening to one of the best singers of that era. And here’s something even crazier: Chris DeGarmo, the lead guitarist, nearly had the same range as Tate. I recommend the studio version of this song, Eyes of a Stranger (official music video), Take Hold of the Flame (live in Japan), and Suite Sister Mary live… if you want to go down that rabbit hole a bit. Aside: I saw Geoff Tate performing Queensryche songs at the Whisky a Go Go just a couple of years ago and he’s still got it.
I had never seen this live version, but the official music video was in heavy rotation on MTV in 1991. Geoff was one of the top voices of his time. ‘Take Hold Of The Flame’ is an early song that shows off his high belt. ‘The Real World’ is a softer song, more like this one. ‘Eyes of a Stranger’ is the final song of the Operation: Mindcrime concept album.
Other Queensryche songs like this: The Lady Wore Black Roads To Madness The Killing Words (MTV Unplugged) I Will Remember (also from MTV Unplugged) Suite Sister Mary (from Operation: LiveCrime) Della Brown (MTV Unplugged) Anybody Listening? Scarborough Fair Someone Else? Right Side of My Mind (Live from 2001) You're welcome 😁
You absolutely need to hear “Someone Else” from Queensryche’s “Promised Land” album. I Love Silent Lucidity, but Someone Else tops it in my book. 🤛😎👍🤟 🔥🌳🌬️💨
Queensryche was one of the biggest bands from the 80's - their brand of progressive metal made them bigger than Iron Maiden and Judas Priest for a few years... The original Queensryche was the pinnacle of their career w/ Geoff Tate (vocals), Chris DeGarmo (guitar), Michael Wilton (guitar), Eddie Jackson (bass) and Scott Rockenfield (drums) from 1983 to 1997. Today, only Michael Wilton and Eddie Jackson are in Queensryche but they have returned to their metal roots w/ Todd LaTorre (vocals) who joined in 2012 and brought them back strong after a number of poor albums w/ original singer Geoff Tate, who is now a solo artist. Guitarist Chris DeGarmo formed Queensryche in Seattle, Washington the early 80's as a heavy metal band after enlisting operatically-trained vocalist Geoff Tate and recording an EP of 4 songs that were so remarkable that it got the band signed and the 'Queensryche' EP released in 1983. Queensryche's full debut album 'The Warning' was released in 1984 and did well in Japan but people were not ready for their level of brilliance... 2nd album 'Rage for order' in 1986 combined metal w/ intricate electronic influences but wasn't a commercial success either. Queensryche had a 'glam' image in the early days but could not appeal to the 80's glam rock crowds. In 1988, singer Geoff Tate suggested recording a concept album - a tragic & dramatic depiction of a hitman, his sinister employer 'Dr. X' who supplied his drug habit... and the prostitute-turned-nun 'Sister Mary' who finds herself in love w/ the hitman and trapped in the plot he is involved in... The 3rd album 'Operation: Mindcrime' was released in '88 and became a hit on MTV as Queensryche opened a massive tour for Metallica in 1989 and the record sold platinum (1 million copies in the US) and is still a fave of Queensryche fans. DeGarmo crafted more radio-friendly songs for their 1990 album 'Empire' and it became their biggest hit selling 3x platinum in the US and the ballad 'Silent Lucidity' became a pop hit... On tour, Queensryche played arenas on the 'Building Empires' tour and performed 'Operation: Mindcrime' in its entirety w/ guest singer Pamela Moore, who voiced 'Sister Mary' on the record and the live video 'Operation: Livecrime' was released in 1991... Six singles were made for the album - 'Empire'... 'Silent Lucidity' ... 'Jet city woman' ... 'Anybody listening' ... 'Best I can' ... 'Another rainy night (without you)' However, despite the success... the extensive touring into 1992 and an MTV 'Unplugged' performance ... Queensryche were coming apart - Geoff Tate endured a divorce and the band was not keen to carry on at the time. Months later, Geoff Tate agreed to return to Queensryche but only if he guided the sessions... the resulting 1994 album 'Promised Land' was a dark and emotional record w/ mostly acoustic songs... The band felt that success did not yield the rewards they were looking for. The album sold platinum and Queensryche were a success on tour. In 1997, Queensryche released 'Here in the now frontier'... a record that guitarist Chris DeGarmo mostly wrote. The 90's had produced grunge rock bands from Seattle like Nirvana and Pearl Jam... who had sold millions of records w/ a stripped-down 'heavy' sound. So, DeGarmo wanted Queensryche to strip down their sound for the record... It was a disaster. Fans did not like Queensryche catering to the 90's sound... and adding to the band's woes, their label folded in '97 ... 'Hear in the now frontier' got little promotion on tour and the album failed to sell a half million copies. Burnt out by Queensryche's career demands, guitarist & key songwriter Chris DeGarmo left the band soon after. Singer Geoff Tate took charge of Queensryche in 1998 and enlisted guitarist Kelly Gray for their 1999 album 'Q2K'... but sales for that record were not an improvement... Gray was apparently fired by 2002. Chris DeGarmo helped co-write & record their 2003 album 'Tribe'... but declined to rejoin the band; guitarist Mike Stone did the tour and joined the band... Tate wanted the songs to capture the essence of USA after the 9/11 attacks but it was not a metal record. In 2006, Queensryche finally announced the sequel album 'Operation: Mindcrime II'... picking up the story 18 years after the events of 'Operation: Mindcrime' set in Reagan's America... this was a story of revenge and sorrow in the W. Bush era... However, the album was not as successful and years later, it was revealed that the tracks were mostly recorded by Tate w/ studio musicians. Queensryche performed both 'Mindcrime' albums on tour and released the live DVD/ CD 'Mindcrime at the Moore'. Subsequent Queensryche albums failed commercially again and while on tour for the 2011 album 'Dedicated to Chaos'... Geoff Tate had a physical altercation w/ members of Queensryche after they had fired his wife Susan Tate as the band's manager in 2012... Geoff Tate was fired after a Rocklahoma performance and Queensryche announced that Todd LaTorre (vocals) would be taking over as the frontman. Legal battles ensued over the name 'Queensryche'... but Tate and the band reached an amicable settlement. With Todd La Torre on vocals, Queensryche returned to a heavy metal sound in 2013 on their self-titled album and on their 2015 album 'Condition Human'... In 2017, drummer Scott Rockenfield took a leave from the band and did not return... Former Kamelot drummer Casey Grillo did the tour and eventually joined the band as they released 2 more albums - 'The Verdict' in 2019... and 'Digital noise alliance' in 2022. Queensryche also brought back Mike Stone (guitar) in 2021 after he had been fired in 2009.
Mostly listened to Empire album. Went to see them live. Excellent. Songs by Adele, Bob Dylan, Green Day, R.E.M., Burna Boy, Rush and many others are currently unplayable on UA-cam in the U.S. due to a legal dispute between the platform and the performing rights organization SESAC.Being negotiated. What I understand.
Those songs should be back available now or soon, YT settled the SESAC rights dispute, "UA-cam says it has reached a deal with SESAC, and that the affected songs will be returning to the platform soon. A spokesperson sent the following comment: "We're pleased that SESAC reconsidered our offer. We've reached a deal and content will come back up shortly. We appreciate everyone's patience during this time. The original story, headlined "UA-cam blocks songs from artists including Adele and Green Day amid licensing negotiations," follows unedited."
My top 3 male vocalists in no particular order: Freddie Mercury Mike Patton Geoff Tate It's interesting that you mentioned Geoff's storytelling voice, as Queensryche's masterpiece is the prog-metal opera "Operation:Mindcrime". That is a must listen. Especially in headphones. It's strange that Rush reactions would be blocked. I know it's not the bands doing. If anything it's likely Warner Bros. blocking them. As they were on one of their subsidiary labels from 1989 to about 2004. I want to say that their original label was bought out by Warner, so the older material could be getting the same treatment.

Such an incredible band - though this song is definitely not representative of just how hard-hitting, high energy they were. Take Hold of the Flame live (as others have suggested) really showcases just how much range and what an incredible vocalist Geoff Tate is. Honestly I think the only rock singer with a more incredible voice is Chester Bennington from Linkin Park (in my not-so-humble opinion).

Great reaction. “I Will Remember”, from MTV Unplugged might be a song that you may like. Another great ballad of Queensryche that showcases Geoff Tate’s voice.
I bet she would love that one.
The Band from Seattle, before Seattle was Grungy! Excellent choice, R.H.N.! Please check out Another Rainy Night, By Queensryche! Keep up the great work, R.H.N.!❤❤❤
The Seattle area produced lots of great bands.
Cool, thanks!
Yes, they did
"I like...I like that. Do it again." 😁
Yay very nice. My other favorite band. Rush being number 1
BTW - it was this track that got me into reading about (and trying) Lucid Dreaming - now that is one powerful way to safeguard your mental health against all the pathogens in this world.
So glad you chose this QR track, it's a rare ballad from this band - superb track of theirs.
Really hope it survives here.
Apparently you have to pause it at least once a minute and talk, to stop it being picked up as "unfair use".
One of my "go-to" songs when I need that self lifting mood.
My vote next by then for you is 'Jet City Woman '.
The ENTIRE Empire album is a must for any collection. Songs “Jet City Woman”, “Empire”, “Is There Anybody Listening”, “Best I Can”, and my favorite, “Another Rainy Night (Without You)”. Link below.

You really can't go wrong with any Queensryche song from 83 to 94 but thereafter their mojo left them, never to return.
I have to beg to differ. The La Torre albums are all really good, imho.
The Real World, from Last Action Hero. That song was the best part of the movie.
Excellent ❤
Other Queensryche songs like this:
The Lady Wore Black
Roads To Madness
The Killing Words (MTV Unplugged)
I Will Remember (also from MTV Unplugged)
Suite Sister Mary (from Operation: LiveCrime)
Della Brown (MTV Unplugged)
Anybody Listening?
Scarborough Fair
Someone Else?
Right Side of My Mind (Live from 2001)
You're welcome 😁
Behold the power of lucid dreaming,
You absolutely need to hear “Someone Else” from Queensryche’s “Promised Land” album. I Love Silent Lucidity, but Someone Else tops it in my book.
🤛😎👍🤟

'Another rainy night (without you)'
However, despite the success... the extensive touring into 1992 and an MTV 'Unplugged' performance ...
Red you asked for another like this one
Try this one from Q-ryche.
BRIDGE
Geoff Tate 🤘
love them!
You just heard the best of the best of the best. Geoff Tate’s voice was unparalleled.
My top 3 male vocalists in no particular order:
Freddie Mercury
Mike Patton
Geoff Tate
It's interesting that you mentioned Geoff's storytelling voice, as Queensryche's masterpiece is the prog-metal opera "Operation:Mindcrime".
Queensryche MTV unplugged session your welcome
i love how you are into prog music, usually reactors stay away from this kind of music (their loss), i appreciate that at least some people out there recognize how great some of this bands are, you should check out pain of salvation - iter ipius martius nauticus II live, together with dream theater they are one of the greatest prog metal bands ever
he has golden silky vocal chords
Such an incredible band - though this song is definitely not representative of just how hard-hitting, high energy they were. Take Hold of the Flame live (as others have suggested) really showcases just how much range and what an incredible vocalist Geoff Tate is. Honestly I think the only rock singer with a more incredible voice is Chester Bennington from Linkin Park (in my not-so-humble opinion).
The Nightwish army misses you
First time I heard this, I thought it must be a new Pink Floyd song.
Many people thought that back when it came out and was played on the radio regularly.
Good reaction GINGER
Now you must to check the original video and put attention to the lyrics.
Don’t be scared with the 80’s music
❤️❤️❤️☮️☮️☮️😘😘😘
I love your videos and, I just became a subscriber!!!
You are so good at these and I feel fortunate that I found you.
(Also, you're pretty darned sultry yourself...😊😊)
Keep up the great work/channel and, I'll definitely keep watching.
Check out ANYTHING from Queensrÿche: Operation: Mindcrime. Suite Sister Mary pretty much summarizes both Geoff Tate's and Pamela Moore's EPIC Vocal talents!!!
I didn't know Pamela Moore was a rocker outside of her work with Queensryche. I recently discovered her YT channel and heard a few of her songs. "Rise" is really good. If you don't already know.
Looks like someone has a little crush....
I'm pretty sure I've seen all your Rush reactions, unless they take them down a lottle while after you've reacted to them, I usually watch your reactions within the first hour you post them. 🤷🏻♂️
check out hold on to the flame.
If you haven’t already, you must hear “Take Hold Of the Flame”, live in Tokyo 1984. It’s considered one of the best live Rock performances EVER!
“Take Hold of the Flame”

Please listen to the official version of this video and then we will speak about it... ;-)
Geoff Tate will take you to another space.
Not one of Geoff's better vocal performances. Try listening to I will remember - unplugged. That's a great performance by the entire band.
Just saw the Ryche tonight in Marysville WA. Still throwing it down. Todd LaTore is kickin butt.
Ok… last comment, i promise… just a two word suggestion:
“RABBIT HOLE”
Speaking of Rush, there are 3 videos out of your 60 that are hidden on me.
Thank you. So odd
Olha mais para a câmera.....'....come to Brazil.... :D
More Dream Theater, please
Absolutely
Ooooh, Red is smitten! 😁
The official music video is much better, you should really check that one out
Agreed.
Another song that is a bit heavier, but not overly is Jet City Woman. You can't really go wrong, though.
This is their best known song
Because it's probably the only one that was played on radio.
they micced this up terribly he had to hold back.. His voice is too powerful for those weak mtv amps
Pentatonix please
This is a great song but nowhere near their best. Tate is one of the iconic rock voices. Operation Mindcrime is a classic concept album. Also Eyes of a Stranger.
