Good to hear stories like this. For every story of a block split at 500 or so there are 10 more stories of guys making it last for a good while all while enduring abuse. It's more about keeping rpm below 6500 and using the best fuel possible and you also want to have an efficient setup and good tuning.
On my holley hp I had to go with that IAC to not have to use the inputs. That damn adapter from accufab was expensive too. ETA, good job going with that tuner out in the country instead of human pos Post
@@BrotherTom Thanks for the feedback. Is the e85 known to stretch the limits of the bottom end slightly in the fox world? On other manufacturers where you might have a block/gasket/rod or piston limitation on 93 octane, the e85 stretches it out a little bit more due to being extremely resistant to detonation and running cooler. So on the manufacturer i'm thinking about it lets those guys run another few psi very safely, where if they ran 93 octane, they'd bend a rod, destroy a piston or blow the head gasket.
@@dennisrobinson8008 that is a very good question. I think you could run meth injection with 93 pump gas to get a similar affect. It all comes down to the tune and RPM you push it to. If you stay under 6500rpm you 'should' be safe. Once you start pushing that you are playing with fire.

@495whp with the stock block that block isn’t going to take any abuse! That’s really pushing it if you ask me! We kept my brothers 95 gt with the exact same set up as you @430whp to have that 70whp cushion which is where these blocks tend to break. I think 450whp would’ve been more safe because you’d be able to beat on it all day, with 495whp you’re going to have to be careful with the amount of pulls you do
A lot of the "500hp issues" come from over revving these motors. The stock internals were not meant to go 7k rpm. If you keep your shifts under 6500 rpm (my MSD rev limit is set to 6200) and have a good tune your motor should be fine. Now that being said, the tuner I use usually gets you 'that number' and then pulls a degree or two of timing so that you don't get silly on a hot summer day and blow up your motor.
