He is a marketing man, the essence of a market-maker for that wheelset. Why do you think Zipp give them the kit for keeps? I'd say that presentation warrants a set for all the GCN presenters to be fair to Si.

    Weight specific observation:
They are super lightweight, but you have to use heavier tubeless tires, sealant, and valve. The total weight compared to a similar depth wheelset such as the Hunt 44UD running 28mm Pirelli PZero race clinchers and supersonic inner tubes comes out to a total weight savings of only 27g,not 143g savings, at 2x the price. This was calculated with the lightest compatible, non TT tubeless tires the corsa g 2.0

And I was fortunate to have an after-school job in high school in Frankfurt, West Germany and I bought that CYC Stormer through a little ad in Dirt Bike magazine, which I happily bought every single month, along with all the other motorcycle magazines. And, incredible to think about now, but at the same time I also owned a '73 250cc Maico motocross motorcycle, the one known for its coffin tank. I bought it from a classmate for $200 bucks and those were, as the say, the days. :)

It's marketing material but vastly better presented than what most places do. I just bought the new Aeolus RSL 51 wheels and most websites that "reviewed" them did nothing more than regurgitate Trek's marketing material word-for-word. At least GCN tries to make things interesting, which I greatly appreciate.

Do these rims have a maximum rider weight?

I don't see why these are much better than the 303s or firecrest apart from looking weird. Get the 303s and spend the excess on an electronic groupset, another bike or even better, a cycle holiday once restrictions are eased

How long do you think it will be before they release an update to the 454 NSW's. Speculation on weight for those rims would be ~1350-1400 which would be 200g+ lighter than the current 454's

I do enjoy each and every video you guys making!! Awesome!!
Now a little bit off topic... I think the camera-men should switch from riding the gasoline powered "scooter" to something e-powered. Less background noise should make your content even better :) Just my thoughts...

Any thoughts on how much different/better these ride/feel than the 303 firecrests?

I don't know which category this should be in, gcn tech or gcn does science or anywhere else. But it would be very interesting to see a comparison of comfort achieved with different rim materials on a carbon/aluminium frame. Or even steel. So the question being: is it worth having a carbon frame but aluminium wheels or is it better/the same/worse to have an aluminium frame with carbon wheels? Many thanks, I really enjoy the videos!!

Comfort is 95% from your tires and seatpost flex. Carbon wheels will make you faster than a carbon frame, but that’s due to aerodynamic gains.

Question on hookless rims - I'm running P Zero Race TLRs on my FFWD RYOT 55 wheels (they have hooked rims). On the packaging, in bold letters it says "don't use with hookless rims." Do you find that they work ok on hookless rims?

Those wheels look great. Too bad I'm a peasant. Watching this on GCN's channel, is as close as I will ever get to owning a pair.

Nice wheelset but excuse me while I wipe away the tears. I'll collect my first wheelset upgrade on Friday and can't wait to see if they make any difference. I found a used pair of Fulcrum Racing 3 DB with good rubber and Shimano 105 cassette for €425 to replace PR2 stock wheelset on my new Giant.

Will wheels like these have any impact on less expensive wheel technology for everyday commuters? I like hearing about high-end technology advances, but I would like to see more things that impact more ordinary riders.

I'd love to get a set of carbon wheels but the wheel flex is just too much as a 95kg rider. Need more spokes and I'd pull the trigger.
