No matter what kind of processing you're using, the way you play sounds great. I would really like to hear your work in the very near future, an album maybe, and I would also like and buy teaching materials that you could put out there. Your technique, emotion and improvisation always surprise me , us... There's no way not to like all your commitment and musicality that you put into your channel. It's unique and appealing. Congratulations and we hope you continue to release many of these videos. Greetings from Portugal.
Thank you so much for the kindness! I moved to Germany this past year and I’m really looking forward to visiting Portugal! Part the work I’m putting into videos like this is to create a library of ideas that will go into the construction of songs for an album release. It’s slow work, as I have a full time active duty job and a couple kids but I’m hoping to finish something pretty soon!
If you ever come to the north of Portugal, near the Oporto city and if you need anything and if I'm available, it will be a pleasure to help. In any case, we will follow your work with anxiety, I know that in these conditions it's really difficult, but little by little it will be a reality if you remain firm. Greetings
Early reflections just kills it. That was the "wait what was I hearing just now" moment. The mod effects (stereo flange, chorus) sounded nice too. Didn't expect otherwise from something in the SPX family. Also cool paint on the body, makes me think of those crackle Charvels.
Yeah, for some reason yamaha really nailed the early reflection thing better than even the very expensive units. This one is gone but I think I’ll save a couple SPXs.
Cliffy could make raking a sidewalk sound delish. Came for the Symphonic but Early Reefs and the LR delays sounded best but I couldn’t dump this spx box fast enough! I kept the 990 and just got a 900.
@@mentoneman I feel you brother. That’s way kinder than I deserve though lol. The 990 is so badass, I installed a universal power supply in mine so I could keep using it in Germany. It’s not ending up on too much stuff lately because I have it sitting on top of a PCM70 and a PCM80…but it’s what I used live when I lived in Japan and it’s a more durable road dawg than a high dollar lex.
@@mentoneman 900 is also cool, I sold mine recently because I just have way too much stuff but I like that it still had the vibe of the SPX90 but with way more stuff in it and arguably better delays and verbs.
@@cliftonwright7081 don’t blame you one bit. choosing 990 v PCM like thinking it’s cool to make out with your cross eyed bearded aunty instead of the Swedish bikini model at the prom🤣
Got two of these cheap 15 years ago. I'm using them on my Yamaha Synth Rack. They are not very good, yet still better than a Midiverb. More likable than a Quadraverb. And amazingly, when you play them, they actually sound like something worthwhile. They appear to be way more useful on guitar than on TX synths.
Really liked the long delay and symphonic. The rooms were a little long but not too woofy like rooms tend to be and the verbs in general were more neutral and dark. I would use those verbs if i needed space without the mojo that lexicons have.
REALLY digging these sounds! They are just pure juicy filth in a good way, plus loving the selection of riffs and grooves and melodic parts. One of your best videos so far Clifton. What's your signal path for this setup?
The instrument you want to demonstrate must be highlighted, not the accompaniment, because at low volume you cannot hear properly the instrument you want to demonstrate (you want to, but you can't) (I can't get no satisfaction).

Thanks man! This one is already sold so I guess there’s still a market for them.
Pitch C > Great jam!
Sounds Great Cliff 🙏✌️❤️

Yeah! I think if you use it right, pretty much all the meat and potato effects sounds in the SPX series are usable and sometimes great!
Great playing 😮🎉🎉🎉

Serious chops
Haha I’m an extremely Un-serious man.
Cool. Speaking of slipping into madness... Dunno. For me it sounds kinda heavily inspired by young Satch. Before he went crazy and got bold :)
Is this a NEWER version of the SPX 90?
I think it came out about the same time as the SPX900 so, technically, yes. It’s got some slightly different specs that’s the 90 but is very similar.

i cant hear the reverb, you put the band acompaniment too loud........i need the reverb very loud to evaluate it
Sorry dude, hope you find what you’re looking for somewhere on UA-cam .
@@cliftonwright7081could you do a clean demo?:] or Atleast just with the chorus?
spx50 is fantastic efect but you made so bad demo it seems a plugin
