- SOG got their act together and most of their updates are exciting. The Terminus XR is a perfect example of this. Strong, light enough, fast, and ambi, the Terminus comes in a variety of good colors (see below). Along with this xlnt EDC SOG I'll talk to you about the German Heinkel 177, a plane if perfected would have delayed the outcome of WW II!

Knives reviews are my favorite. I miss the knife clinics. Watching you chop wood and the fire burning is the most relaxing thing I can do.

This Terminus XR has been my EDC for a year now. Love it. I've updated the pocket clip to their newest version. The sent it for free - thanks SOG. Great review.
I just picked up one of these in the red G-10/D2 blade configuration after watching this review and several others. I always enjoy seeing nutnfancy's take on things.
I tried a Terminus a couple years ago. My only real gripe was the clip. The design at its attachment point caused most of my pants pockets to get hung up when trying to grab out of the pocket.
The new pocket clip on Terminus XRs has solved that.
I own the exact red handle he shows. I had the same issue in my pocket. They shouldn’t have set that clip back. Any pocket curls up into the clip and it’s a fight to get it out.
@@SOGKnives i also have one and really same sentiments with the clip. How much would it cost me to get the newer version clip? And would it be compatible?
They sent me the updated clip version for free.

This knife is freaking awesome for edc! Got a green one last year, but just got the new one from BladeHQ for Christmas..Black blade gray g10 handle scales, upgraded thinner pocket clip..same one as on the Flash XR, much more subdued. Freaking love it.

Just bought one of these. When I got home I started looking for reviews. Glad I bought one. For the price it is really nice. Upon watching your review I do not regret this purchase.

SOG flash 2 carrier for ..twelve years? Just taken a beating. Serious beating in work, and adventures of life. Nothing negative to say about it. Love SOG specifically for what the SOG flash2 has gotten me through!

The other sogs this year without it has been pretty slick, to the point it's a little bit faster than the assisted. It's kinda surprised me, blanked on the names.
I recently picked up the Terminus XR in s35vn and it is a wonderful knife once you get it broken in.

I had the original black one. great medium sized knife. after knocking some corners off on the flipper with a stone. Didn't care for the CF handle, might pick up the g10 version or go for the Pentagon XR. Sog is on the right track with the XR line.

Nutn, when are you going to review a shadow systems mr920 or dr920? With your historic appreciation if glock SAWC and reliability, I'd love to see a tabletop on what seems to be the best value and fastest growing of the glock type clones. Seems like you haven't been much of an optics guy, but their micro red dot mounting system is pretty incredible.

I REALLY HOPE that SOG make larger versions of The Terminus models with 4 inch blades or even bigger!!They would sell very well and could make 2 versions.One version in high end budget steel(Aus 10A,14C28N steel,Nitro V) and the other version with steels like CPMS35 or S35VN steels or CTS XHP steel).
There's something about that pocket clip that I find makes it hard to get out of pocket. I prefer their longer deep carry clips.
Yeah, it's because when you pinch the knife to pull it out that clip style makes it so you are pinching your pants pocket at the same time
that's our older style.
@@SOGKnives I love the old style…… I put a small bit of parachord through the lanyard hole to solve the clip issue. The thing I DO like about the older clip is how great the retention is with it.

The 177 had 4 engines. Two in each nacelle. Cooling them was a major problem. I like knives with longer handles. Have a look at the Pro-tech Half Breed.

Speaking of hard to sharpen knives take a look at hogue EX-A01 It's definitely a sweet knife 🔪 but I'm almost afraid to bang it up any so typically I carry a second knife with me. What's the old phrase Two is one one is none but I Digress typically I EDC and make use of the spyderco Manix 2 by the way good video 📹
Can anyone recommend someone who makes aftermarket pocket clips for cold steel knives? I'd also like find an online knife community with people that sell parts out of old knives.
I bought this knife a few months ago it only saw light use but i had one of the springs snap on me... super disappointed... other than that its a great knife. just in pieces while i figure out how to get a new spring. I couldn't wait for your review before i bought it! lol

I have the carbon fiber one, it's a good knife.
I got the black clip from the S35VN carbon fiber one. I called and asked for them and put the clip in the hole closer to the right side and fixed the problem of pulling the knife out the pocket. I've bought a total of nine. The one I want is the jade g10 original one. But very hard to find. I use them so I'm not willing to pay the $500 people asking for. So if anyone got one I will pay original price cause I will use it alot lol.
Only complaint about this knife is the springs broke within the first 3 days on the first one and a few weeks on the second one
I bought this online and kind of regret it for 2 reasons, it's not assisted, ie slow deploying, and there is a ledge behind the pocket clip that snags on your pocket.
I'm at a point in my life where 50 bucks is a lot of money . Could you advise on a25 dollar flipper for edc and food ?
Big 5 sells cheap Gerber assisted knifes. But they're cheap.
I have had an Ontario RAT for six years. A bit heavy but as a plumber I find ways to put it to the test. With today's economy, it is $30ish at besos land. For twice the$, I sometimes carry a Delica 4. Good luck!

I got a “what if’ WW2 question. If we could go back in time and give America the blueprints to a AC130 could they have built it or something similar to it? I just think it would’ve been amazing if on D-Day we had something like AC130’s flying over the beaches firing cannons down on the Germans.

I prefer the old clip alot more purchase. I have the new clip wit the walnut handle. I would have like the old clip. The new clip still great but I like the old one.
Love it Nut'n! My all time favorite WW2 aircraft is the Junker JU-87 "stukka" dive bomber.
Imo the 1st really effective ground support aircraft that preceded and paved the way for modern aircraft like the Fairchild A-10 "warthog".
The G model, i believe, utilized 2 enormous 30 mm autocannons, 1 under each wings weapon station making it a devastatingly effective anti tank gun ship.

This knife is a zesty morsel. The home defense vegetable garden is necessary. Green Zebras are heirloom tomatoes with a striped pattern; they are sweet like red tomatoes but give this gazpacho a lovely jade hue. To make the chilled soup extra tangy, use tomatillos or unripe red tomatoes instead of Green Zebras.

They have changed the clip design.
i regret buying my terminus, there are so many better knives, the flipper sucks, the lock action isn't smooth, handles are slippery (especially when edc-ing without gloves) but I listened to reviewers who raved about years ago. this is not the knife for you, just get the bugout.

This knife is junk! Had a terminus for less than a year. With in a month the clip broke and then one of the omega springs broke a handful of months down the road. I did go through sog but I had taken the knife apart to see what was wrong and oops warranty voided. Never will I own another sog and I also will not buy from blade hq. But nutnfancy I still like!
We design the pocket clips to snap to prevent major damage. We have a free pocket clip request form on our website. If you call us or just mail in your knife, we will take care of your spring issue.
@@SOGKnives well honestly that sounds great. Im not sure if your policy has changed but I can send you the emails I had received telling me that due to me taking the knife apart I voided my warrant. What do I need to do? Start a new email request for the repair?
I gave SOG a chance a few times and I can never buy another. Every one of their folding knives has left to right blade play.
