I love Chun-Li rivalry with Juri they are basically the same but one is good and the other is bad their rivalry similar to Kitana and Mileena rivalry from Mortal Kombat.
Juri isn't "bad", she's an anti-hero. Both suffered tragic losses of their fathers at the hands of Dictator. They just went about revenge/justice differently. Juri, now, actually is a fan of Chun and enjoys their rivalry. Hence her imitating Chun and adopting, literally, some of Chun's techniques into her style in 6. Chun x Juri are rivals who respect each other, not enemies.
This is still so interesting to learn for me, mostly because I'm still new to Street Fighter, but your narration of the timeline of the series, as to in-depth analysis of each of the characters is a plus for me, I'm grateful for it, and am stoked for playing for the first time; when it comes out, Street Fighter 6. Chun Li has always been a favourite. She is the focus character of the SF2 pinball game and she appears in all games. I just wish she would wear pants a bit more often. What surprises me is that her story doesn’t tie into Vega nearly as much as I thought it would. Their fight in the AWESOME animated movie not withstanding, they do seem to be paired up against each other quite often. My choices for next characters are Vega, Fei Long and Dhalsim. I appreciate they tend to be side characters with little impact on the main story, so I’ll understand if they aren’t at the top of your list. Frankly, I think Fei Long deserves more screen time.

Seriously though, Chun Li is one of the original legendary females to break into the cultural radar with CAPCOM's Street Fighter 2! She would develop a strange and sick antagonism with "Juri" a starry demented female who loves... Korean Tae Kwon Do.

One of Chun-Li win quotes to Ryu in 6 is her saying something like after all these years she thinks he made her be more stronger also one of Ryu win quote to Chun-Li he said she fought by his side for so many years there is definitely potential in being lovers between them and Chun-Li have a Ryu poster in her room shown in her Street Fighter V arcade story.
Yeah I think Capcom was going to make them a item I remember Chun-Li was one of the main people Ryu remembered in his Alpha 3 ending that purged the Dark Hado from within him and there is so many pictures Capcom made of Chun-Li and Ryu being lovey dovey and more than friends.
