And welcome back to another Street Fighter history of video!
With that said courtesy of last weeks state of play, we got a pretty damn big reveals with the return of Zangief, the debut of Lily, and of course the centre of todays video, the return of the lethal and exquisitely beautiful former shadaloo doll, Killer Bee, aka Cammy White.
Cammy has been a long time staple character of the franchise all the back since street fighter 2, and she’s greatly evolved since her debut, first starting off as a simple puppet of bison, designed to be his for taking, before of course, finally acquiring her own freedom, but the fight does quite end there, as she’s forced to hunt down her own sisters, In the hopes of giving them the freedom they so righteously deserve, her story Is one of rebellion, one In defiance In the face of evil, Its a story that Is very inspiring, showing that despite the sins of the father, or In this case a psycho infused maniacal dictator, anyone can defy their fate.
So today, to talk about Cammy we will first have to dial things all the way back to Street Fighter Alpha 2, In order to understand what you can expect to see of her during the story mode of Street Fighter 6!

I love that Cammy and Chun-Li have a close sisterly type relationship like a female version of Ryu and Ken brotherly relationship with few differences.

Me too, Chun-Li and Cammy are the greatest characters in video games history, along with Ryu & Ken.
Yeah they have a great friendship especially when it comes to solving crimes and I always love how concerned Cammy be when Chun-Li is hurt or injured and she tries to cover for her they always have each other back.

Idk what it is man, but Her new hair cut just looks great. Not usually a big fan of short, but it looks great on her new version.
I have been playing Cammy since Street Fighter II way back on SNES as a little kid. She still kicks butt. It was always a tie between her and Chun-Li as my favorite but SF V made me go with Cammy as my main. She is just so fun to play!
Nice! For me it was Chun and Ryu/Ken because my 1st Street Fighter on SNES was the OG World Warriors without the 4 extra characters. I loved Chun-Li's ending in her casual orange top and jean shorts with her hair down. I thought she was so pretty lol. I eventually got the one with Cammy and played her a lot and loved her music and stage. Great memories as a little kid. I fell off of fighting games and SF but I'm so excited for SF6 to jump back in.
I wanted to get back in during SFV but didn't like the art style and just kept reading the game was an incomplete mess so I passed. Anyway enjoy SF6! It's gonna be awesome!
I love that she has her flip over neck twist with kicking out the knees move from the Street Fighter animated movie.
Cammy in her leotard is classic. Also, very beautiful LEGS she has💕
Ever since The New Challengers, I have fell in love with Cammy. My heart was happy, after seeing her return in Street Fighter 6. I love her new look. But I hope they bring back her classic leotard, as well.
Can't wait to see what's next for Cammy White!
Hopefully Cammy is treated properly now that there is a new Street Fighter team that care about the franchise and characters especially cause boy Capcom was downplaying Cammy almost to the point she almost became a joke like Guile.

Wonder why Cammy story was changed from being a lover of Bison? I guess Capcom didn't want Cammy to be a one off character due to how quickly she rose to popularity.
It's not like they couldn't incorporate it. Inducing feelings of love would make breaking the control over the dolls that much harder.
They didn't want to explain why Bison was interested in such young girls. With the fact she would've been 15 at the time they started hooking up. It's not a good look for 40 plus year old Bison hanging out in Hot Topic looking for a date.
It was the english translation that changed their dynamic into a romantic one. In the original Japanese titles, it’s always been the clone-relationship.

ok but what about Sakura, i mean she studied under Ryu because he was like a role model she looked up to, but she was the youngest character in the series up to that point, but she was in her final year of highschool at age 18.
but Cammy on the other hand started out in the service at the age of 21, Chun Li is actually one year younger at 20. now if you go by game release,
both Cammy and Chun Li would be over 50, but in terms of story, they are only in their 30's.
Her new design is the exact reason why Cammy was the last character to be revealed XD

Fun fact - Cammy's originally was going to be called Sarah, until there was a last minute change. No word on why it was changed like that, but most likely reason is not wanting to associate with Sarah Bryant from Virtua Fighter.
Was VF even out back then?
I think Cammy turned up in a revision of SF2 but the original release was in 91.
Edit: New Challengers came out in 93 and so did VF1, so I guess it's not completely impossible
This made me appreciate Cammy for more than her looks
Hopefully this bad ass persona of Cammy means she can actually win her fights this time. Like her against Juri.
When I look at characters like Cammy in street fighter, I always wish for a reboot of sorts for Street Fighter to tie all the main cast closer to one another. Alpha sortve did this, and that SF4 movie with how Ryu was concerned for Cammy are moments where I wish were fully developed properly.
The street fighter udon comics do just that. Heck it even tied a lot of the casts relationships even further with other Capcom franchises like Rival schools and Darkstalkers. Like how ibuki, Elena, and makoto go to school together. Further exploration into how Cody ended up getting in jail and redemption. Sakura and her relationship with the cast of Rival Schools.
Every time I see Cammy I be reminded how 2020 was abit better for me I say that because my very first anime convention was in March of 2020 and my very first autograph was from Catlin glass the English va for Cammy I had her autograph my sf4ae I been having since elementary school I don't know why I told her this but I told her in your opinion who is the coolest sf character she said Akuma nothing but respect for that choice 😎

Small correction...just small....that's all...Cammy debut was actually Super Street Fighter II the New Challengers...........not Super Turbo or just SFFII normal, and you been saying in audio SFII and showing the logo of Super Turbo. Just that awesome video as always. Glad to see my girl got her update video this quick.

Visually and gameplay-wise she resembles Sonya Blade but story-wise she has so many similarities with Kitana! I always felt like Cammy is more similar to Kitana and Chun Li to Sonya
The female lead of the series. Primary color is blue. Black/brown hair and eyes. Highly respected as a warrior and leader. Father killed by the primary antagonist. Joins the fight with others to put an end to his tyranny. Has a purple clad rival that match her in combat. This describes both Kitana and Chun-Li
@@thatoneguy1232 I would argue that Sonya is the female lead of MK and she and Chun Li both fight for justice one is an interpol agent and the other one is a general in US special forces! Cammy and Kitana on the other hand are both raised by tyrants and got redeemed once they found out the truth

I just noticed one of the diols' outfits got reused for resident evil revelations. Jessica wear something similar in the flashbacks on Terrigrisia(I may have spelled this wrong).

The implications of Bison wanting to become a hot female gymnast/martial artist in order to take over the world are kind of wild.
To be fair I think a lot of people would do it if they could but the fact that they put it out there and never really followed through with it.
Maybe one of the newly introduced female characters for SF6 will turn out to be Bison in a new body but considering he keeps resurrecting himself in the same form I wouldn't expect them to go with that idea, even taking into account how prominent the queer characters are in the new game.
Imagine the plot twist JP is bison all along but nah that wont happen

It's still not clear to me how the dolls and Cammy survived after Bison's initial and final fall if their lives were tied to his.
That was disconnected once Cammy destroyed the Psycho Drive, as that was what caused the connection and their lives relying on M. Bison

I mean considering her character arc, not having ponytails was the better way to go. Cutting ones hair is a pretty effective narrative trope for implying growth.

Story mode in SF5 was the dumbest thing imaginable but Cammy was a bright spot. Seriously though, what were they thinking?! Now SF6 has these moronic new characters in the same vein of the moronic nature of that story mode and it is starting to resemble KoF nonsense. Cammy thankfully is back however.

These descript-voiced videos are becoming really unsettling. The cadence and rhythm of the monologue sound somewhat human, but they're off in an uncanny way. I'm thankful for the information, but I won't be liking or subscribing to any video using an AI-generated voice that tries to mimic the video creator just out of principle.

Not against outfits like that, but it depends on the character and I don’t care about whatever made up reason they have of movement or whatever lol. I absolutely hate the giant Lego gloves she wears. Definitely the worst part of the character’s design. Sometimes she has paint on her legs. Now she’s got smaller Lego gloves and wears pants and a jacket with the British flag because gotta know she’s British. I’m all for being proud of your nationality and all but man that comes off as all she 😂. Now I just see “British woman”. Dial it back lol

@@thatgiovanni1160 I like some of Chun-Li’s designs. I hate her original/classic design. That thing is a mess. But I love the Alpha look I think it is? The one with the tights, sneakers, and that little vest. Street Fighter 6 is the best the character has ever looked imo. Love that design. Sagat looks so cool. A lot of newer characters look great as well like Menat. Rashid looks alright. Jamie, Kimberly, Lily all have nice and distinctive designs without looking overly ridiculous. But yea I think most characters do look silly
