I personally know these guys (went to school with the lead singer and are great friends with him) and can guarantee it’s genuine. He is that good and a voice teacher himself.
I'll throw my two cents in as well having known Phil for ages....he's the real deal. No doubt. In the 6-7 years or so that I've been following the guys, Phil's never "cheated" with vocal takes, that's him and he's matched that power and range at every live performance.

I just watched their concert that Gabby Christine (i think) posted and it seems like he's got a good voice but for sure theres digital filters ir w.e y'all call them. Either way, i'd go to their concert if they're here around Pittsburgh.
Yeah, Phil is a great guy. His voice is real. I've done musicals with him. Funny dude.
The vocalist is my vocal teacher, and I promise you that is all 100% genuine. He has a lot of intelligence when it comes to using his voice, and he's really good at helping people understand how to use theirs. Definitely check out their band, you won't regret it.

@jvalex18 it's cheating if it's not live, anyone can edit til it's perfect,
@@rickgrebenik8140 autotune has it's limits. You can do slight pitch corrections but even then you can hear autotune. Compression and eq will make it sound a bit better but you can't fake having a good voice to this degree.
I've been going through their social media reels and shorts, and just amazed. Now after reading your comment that he's a voice teacher himself, it makes sense.
I think we should take a moment to appreciate how difficult it is to play bass and sing at the same time.

Playing any instrument while singing is difficult. Piano and singing is one of the most difficult especially if you play more than basic chords
Anyone that can play bass or drums and sing at the same time is a truly talented musician. Not to take away from those that can’t or don’t lol. BB King never sings and plays. He was pretty talented too lol
Yes it is. I can play bass, drums and guitar. Singing while playing the bass is the most difficult of them. The only instrument I can not play and sing at the same time is the didgeridoo.. Lol.

dudes a live killer...i saw them saturday night and he sounded just as good with a house sound guy...clearly he loves what he is doing and he loves it when we love it and it shows...best live experience...I am in...this family rocks the house

Phil is the man!! He performed at my parents wedding and have seen him play with his girlfriend multiple times around the Harrisburg, Pa area. If you ever get a chance to see Small Town Titans or Lucille & the Wolf....DO IT!!!! They sound this amazing in person!!
This was the first song I heard of STT, and I was hooked immediately. I'm a sucker for bassists, both instrumentally and vocally, and the uniqueness he brings to being both is incredibly story driven.

Listened to these guys playing live on the local radio station this morning. At least through the radio it didn't sound significantly different. It was really good Live.
Known Phil since College; I really enjoyed you talking about his "characters". He was in a lot of theatre productions and has always carried a lot of theatricality in his performances. It should go without saying that he never "needed" to be mic'd.
Discovered STT last year and this recording still gives me chills. I bought the single immediately. When you hit on his consonants and enunciation I was like YES, EXACTLY. As a bass singer who has struggled with higher registers I am super jealous of his range but at the same time can't get enough of it. I really don't even understand how someone can have that kind of range, and have clarity throughout, but musically it is just awesome.
Love the smile he gives when he hears the "Seasick crocodile" part. Jaja. ❤
Having heard them record this, his voice on the low notes was great without any effects. To hear someone who can sing that high have such a good sound low is probably the first thing I found cool about them years ago.
Your comments on sustainability are spot on. We want him able to produce this sound 30 years from now.

Small Town Titans are absolutely awesome! The vocals are up there with the best! The production is amazing, the sound for a three piece is always huge and amazing! Their original songs are awesome and their covers are usually better than the originals! Rock on Small Town Titans! 🤘🤘
Having seen the Titans several times in concert, I can tell you how he sounds in one long uninterrupted take... Amazing!
His voice and the way he’s using it, the types of sounds he’s creating, are very similar to David Draemon of Disturbed (to me). I love it.
Saw them live in rochester ny. And his voice is that good. He blew me away so did their whole band.

I found this recently and I’m SO SO thrilled you reviewed! I absolutely squealed in delight when I saw this. I only admit it because I’m still so excited! They’re so good!! They really brought the power, without losing the interesting ‘accent’ in how he said the words. But it also wasn’t a totally straight cover. So interesting! And I forever love the love the bass gets here.

Same, I don't know crap about half of what this guy is talking about but I am very musical and have an excellent ear so it's really interesting hearing him put words to the things I hear.

I just started watching your videos, just stumbled upon the channel by chance… and honestly it was because your profile does make you look like a Sprouse brother and that was funny to me.
Now, I’m a terrible singer, I don’t have an ounce of talent for it, I doubt I have the instrument for it… that being said, it’s been a while I’ve been so in love with someone’s passion, like I’m finding myself being right now. You’re genuinely enjoyable to watch, it’s entertaining, informative, and just all around great, because you genuinely enjoy doing what you do, and you’re amazing at it; that’s a fact, you can just tell when someone’s passionate, and that makes them excel, because you truly want to help, and not just knock down someone for their mishaps, or mistakes. Before this recording became popular on Facebook and UA-cam I viewed what I think was a live recording on stage. Sounded almost identical....You made a great evaluation.
Great critique of a stunning cover. Im loving everything that Small Town Titans are doing at the moment. I don't know if anyone has mentioned this yet, but there is a fantastic acoustic live video of this song which gives you a clear view of his vocals without any effects or production trickery. Worth a watch! 👍🏻
I have watched a few of your videos and I'm very impressed with how honest you are. I studied musical theatre for a very long time and that helped me when I made my transition into being a heavy metal singer. It truly helped me develop my "character," in my music. I would love to have you analyze my singing and give me a few pointers as I progress into my musical career now.

After hearing these guys live a few times in the back of a crowded bar. The performance is not much different my dude. Simply epic shows. Great voice. The guys have awesome harmony together, and I can only imagine what great things they will go onto do. And only hope they saw my meme about being a security guard for them, cause I def would lol.
