I definitely agree great, great little mixer. I have had one since late 2016 or early 2017 and carried it in my gear bag as a spare each and every gig we've ever done including one we did today. I would have no problem using it as a main mixer but lack of the monitor output was the issue. Running a balanced TRS to XLR cable into a powered speaker never worked properly but running it into my IEM system did work...weird. The balanced TRS to XLR cable that didn't work is the same exact cable I used for the monitor output on my mg10XU and now on my Allen & Heath cq-18t.
Appreciate the suggestion. I don't have the Soundboks pro and don't intend on getting it. I've already done a video comparing the Everse 8 with the S1Pro. Everse 8 is in another league! Thanks for your support!
Please make a video on connecting it to the Bose S1 Pro Plus, that would be really interesting! I'm also not satisfied with the mic reverb on my Bose S1 Pro Plus. Any tips or solutions would be greatly appreciated!
Only problem is with its effects, most vocalists use the effect “Reverb+Delay”, which Mackie mixers provide, where as Yamaha mixers have “Reverb or Delay”!
The only problem with Mackie mixers, even though they seem to have more features, is that I hear them having issues 2-3 years into their lives but these Yamaha mixers last a loooong time. I guess you need to choose between reliability vs features.
Hello sir, good afternoon. Newbee here on mixer world! Haha... since I've been looking for a yamaha mixer to buy, your video convince me to go for this model. Thank you for your advise..❤
I had a 20% off coupon from Musician's Friend and my wallet out, but I realized the 31lbs and large size put it out of the portable PA world for me. My back will thank me! 18 lbs Everse 8 is probably loud enough for me :)
You mention the lack of monitor output. I use the headphone out to my monitor speaker. It works great.

For aux/monitor out, I use the headphone jack to a powered speaker. I use the PHONES pot to adjust the monitor volume, separate from the master out.
I do exactly the same! And I thought it was my discovery!
Sorry might be a silly question but are the effects routed to the PHONES output also?
Agreed. Mic pre’s are sooo good!
Bill, you’ve got to do a sound comparison with the Soundboks pro / Go, everse 8 and s1 pro and your channel will blow up! Great content.. love it.

Completely agree. I own the 6 and the 10 and use both daily

You're right, Yamaha does not offer a combined reverb and delay effect. Deal breaker for some vocalist. I love Mackie mixers!

@@komalthecoolk Agree! Already have a problem with my 1 year old Mackie FX12! Yamaha tank like!
Nice review, Bill!
Thanks!

I have 2 of them and they are amazing!
A USB out would be good. I have its big brother the MG 10XUF which has USB and I use it all the time to record directly on to my laptop.
Good point, but to keep price low, features must be excluded.
Yamaha Preamps are excellent with great reputation, 64dB gain! In comparison new Mackie ProFx V3 has 60dB gain.
Great review!
Appreciate the feedback!
We are all waiting for you to review the Everse 12
