Your father really taught you well. It's great to see you together on video. It doesn't happen often enough. You are truly a beautiful person, and it shows in your beautiful work. Thank you for your inspiration and time you take to make these videos.
I attended the Colorado College Art School back in 1969 and your understanding of color is over my head. It's neat to see you do colors. You nail it every time.
It's my favorite part of what she does on the channel. On some pieces she has to do a lot more to get a consistent look with multiple techniques applied to different parts of different things. She explains it really well to the point that I _feel_ like I could do it, although of course I'd need the twenty-five years experience too, lol!
Trena,Trena Trena. Always surprising us with your magic touch. Talking about you slamming a hand to get rid of the stain . It was so fast . Just the way we do and i dont know if you came down to our level or if we went up to yours. you are supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!!!!!!!
Hi Trena. I hope you do work as much "boring technical" stuff into your vids as you can without loosing the people who only want to see the transformation and the results. Some of us watch you intently looking for insights on how we can broaden our skill sets. You have all of this knowledge and passing it down is a proud way to leave your mark. Don't let your knowledge get washed away by time. I always learn something from you, even when you are not actively teaching. Thumbs up!!
Just a staggering amount of work with beautiful results. Of course we've come to expect no less from you and you deliver every time. Kudos to your father for teaching you, for you have an impressive amount of knowledge for someone so young. That coupled with your patience and diligence and attention to detail makes you a very special individual. It's always a good day when the notification comes that John's Furniture Repair has posted a video. Thank you for sharing what you do.
I admire you! You keep your standards! You decide what you should do or not to do. As usual, thank you. Very soon I am going to redo my teak furniture. I will go back to your videos😊❤
WOW Trena! You keep it real. That was an awesome repair and refinishing. Lots of hard work and I admire your high standards and that’s exactly why you’re as good as you are. Your father must be so proud of you. FANTASTIC video.
I have tell you that, of all the channels on furniture repair and restoring that I watch , you are the most accomplished I have come across. And I watch a lot of channels. ❤❤😊
Thankyou! That means a lot. I believe most channels are people who have just stated their journey. But there are only a few actual proffesional restorers out there. Cheers!
I'm imagining the delight your customer feels every time s/he looks at these beautiful pieces after you've worked your magic on them. Thank you for adding so much joy to so many people, Trena.
Only the interested people will care. As long as You care enough to show even one person the trick to an artists color pallet and matching shades . Or the how to of. You've passed on a piece of an art that just shouldn't die out. Your dad must have been really something for you to have skills like that. Don't doubt yourself your doing great :) well done .🎉
You deserve a medal. How can folks know what you go through unless they follow your channel? I do wonder! People are bringing home a piece you've loved, a real value add, IMO!
Midcentury furniture is so often ill-treated ... it takes massive effort but this epic restoration is so rewarding to see ... as ever what a wonderful job.
Thank you for cutting through the unmentioned problem area's. So many times much of a work is ignored. Real work, no matter what it is, is almost always painstaking.
I discovered this gem of a channel through the chair competition and I am so happy to have found it. Just absolutely stunning work. I am so impressed with your skill and dedication. Thank you
One of the reasons that I love your channel is that you show when things go wrong. To be fair, even if there were never any problems I would be in awe of your incredible talent. But watching you encounter real problems and work through them is part of the magic of your channel.
Miss Trena you are an amazing teacher- never think otherwise- we can read books on staining until we are blue in the face, you are at least giving us an idea behind all those manuals out there
Technical expertise, fasion tips and philosophy "The world must be tilted"🤣... Go Trena! Think you deserve a coffee for this one, stay safe n well. TFS, GB :)
Trina I am a retired Interior Designer who went to a top ten University in the School of Architecture. Sometimes if you can not salvage a top well you can paint on a faux stone finish or use a slab of some type of stone well cut on the top. If it were me and i could not salvage the top I would probably do a straight block cut of half to one inch Black Soapstone on this which would look terrific on both pieces. You do beautiful work and take pride in your labors, A rare trait in todays world Your father taught you well. The outcome on both pieces is outstanding. Beautiful and beautifully done.. BRAVO Trina..
Trina i watched this again and with your experience and expertise I am surprised the customer did not commission you to make new drawers inside the middle section of the long dresser ..Those drawers are simple and would have completed the piece; and if not drawers some nice finished shelves. I grew up in the 50s with Mid Century furniture lol
i just wanted to say what a pleasure it is to watch your videos. I grew up in my Fathers's and Uncles cabinet shop. Your attention to detail and craftsmanship exceeds all that I have seen. Your attitude towards not achieving perfection as being acceptable is something that is lost in today's prefab world. Even an old dog like me with 40yrs of woodworking has learned a thing or two from your projects. Thank you!
I thought you'd developed a fungal nail condition until I realised it was outgrown false nails! And that one had snapped off.😂 Yet you soldiered on to restore the cabinets...bravo!
You've made it quite impossible for me to watch any other restoration video without thinking "this isn't how Trena would do it" 😂😂😂 superb craftswomanship as always.
Hi Trena, another amazing restoration. You are obviously very busy at the mo but would be really interested in a video on the types of wood that you use to restore what & why ....but when you are ready...Good Luck with the move 😊
you always do a great and beautiful job on all your pieces of furniture , thank you for sharing all the extra hard work, that can arise while using top coats , your colour matching is so inspiring to see, again thank you
Hi Trena, Circa 1850 works great. In the US Fornbees is a great stripper. There were many Fornbees products back in the 90's. Used their products many times.Your colour shift is just amazing. You have taken this to another level. I'm sorry to hear Bulldog didn't make it through the pandemic many great businesses failed. I just can't say how beautiful this job turned out. Thanks for another great lesson Trena. God bless you and your family in Saskatoon.
I found your site completely by accident Trena ,what a lovely accident it was ,Your cometary all the way through is a delight ,and especially about your " Ironing " or lack of it clothes wise ,😄 Thank you ,
This type of furniture reminds me very much of my childhood back in the 60's, nice that it's coming back into fashion, clean lines and functional. We have a couple of coffee tables made from the same design, which I think started there journey in Sweden. As per usual after your finished they will be, once again a couple of class pieces. 🤗👍 Re ironing I'm with you, mind you if you do want something to look smart and you don't like or have an iron, if you fold what you want to wear neatly when it's dry, put it under something with some even weight. After a few hours it will look like it's been ironed. 😎
Beautiful. You rescued 2 wonderful pieces from obscurity and made them art objects again. You are no less an artist than those who originally made them.
That turned out beautiful. That's the style of furniture I grew up with and enjoyed in the 50's. Your much needed work was spot on in bringing this piece back to perfection. If I had been lucky enough to have been the owner of this lovely furniture, I think I would have sent the center draws to you as well; knowing if I did that everything would come out looking perfect. Thank you for a wonderful experience in refinishing.
I love your attention to detail in every piece you restore, no matter the age, veneer or solid wood, hardware included! Nothing seems to be too finicky. That to me makes true craftsmanship!
Trena, another outstanding work of art. You continue to impress all of us with your ability to blend in color along with wood carving expertise. BRAVO !
Your technical skills, your artistry, your patience… it’s inspiring.
Thankyou!
You are the furniture whisperer. You know what it needs and more importantly you give it the tlc it needs. These pieces are simply stunning
Thankyou!
No matter what style or age of furniture you always make them look amazing
From badly beat up to simply beautiful! Trena, the Queen of finishers!
🥰
@@johnsfurniturerepair what a great job as usual trena 😊And say hello to your horse for me. I do hope you still have him or her.
Long live the Queen.
She is so incredibly talented. Her videos really demonstrate how what she does is an art and a science. I love her dog too...
Your father really taught you well. It's great to see you together on video. It doesn't happen often enough. You are truly a beautiful person, and it shows in your beautiful work. Thank you for your inspiration and time you take to make these videos.
Thanks for watching Larry
Breathtaking!

I can honestly say that you, Trenna, are the only You Tuber that I would watch for over one hour. Your work is exemplary. Thank you.
Wow. Thanks so much!
Absolutely beautiful 😍

That needed a lot of repair. Excellent job.
Your ability to see what colors are needed finish project is very good. Very artistic. Well done.

You're a great teacher and a great teacher wouldn't leave out the "fisheyes". Can you imagine if we encountered them on our own?
That was an outstanding job. Hard to believe it looked so bad. Like magic. Ever disappoint❤❤
A big job done professionally with beautiful results. Very nicely done! Thanks for sharing it.
Beautiful grain! Top notch work as always!
Thanks again!

All projects have issues-how you handle them is one of the things I look forward to.
Wow, these videos sure help me with my depression. ❤
a very beautiful repair and colour job Trena I love watching a brillant craftsman at work
Thankyou
You deserve a medal. How can folks know what you go through unless they follow your channel? I do wonder! People are bringing home a piece you've loved, a real value add, IMO!
I've said it before and I'll say it again. You are truly an artist in your own right. Just beautiful workmanship.

Thank you! Cheers!
Looking forward to a tutorial on color work. I think it will be interesting!
Hi Trena, another amazing restoration.
You are obviously very busy at the mo but would be really interested in a video on the types of wood that you use to restore what & why ....but when you are ready...Good Luck with the move 😊
I just realized I missed watching this video. Beautiful job on hiding the water damage and blending in the patches.
Thankyou!

Looks amazing! I love the woodgrain showing more. ❤
Not sure how I missed this episode. They look stunning. Whatever they paid, wasn't enough. Wow!
That furniture must have some sentimental value for the owner. Again you demonstrate your talent and craftsmanship.
Hi there your repair and woodworking skills are marvelous ❤

Hey Trena! You make this look too easy and fun. Great content watching you breeze though this work.
Your standards are higher than mine! I thought I had high standards, but I'm willing to learn a new way.
Looks great, pure artistry blending that stain.
Thanks for sharing
Beautiful restoration on two amazing pieces. ❤
Awesome! So nice to seeing a woman doing this. How wonderful to watch this poor piece regain its beauty.

Awesome! I recently bought a table from Marketplace that I did refinish and flipped! Love this!!
Beautiful. You rescued 2 wonderful pieces from obscurity and made them art objects again. You are no less an artist than those who originally made them.
Thankyou!
As always, it’s such a privilege to watch an artisan at their best! ❤
BEAUTIFUL!
Congratulations ! As every time you did a perfect restoration ! I admire your work !!
thankyou
Being from Scotland I love hearing you say wee bit longer 😁 It is such a pleasure to watch you work....and I also hate ironing !
Lol Thankyou
The work you have done and the pieces are some of my favourites so far!
Yay, thank you!
