You are the master of color, staining, finishing. anyone who’s ever tried to match or do stain on raw wood like that knows how incredibly hard it is to get it to look even like you do,and you do it every time.
I wish I lived close enough to be a customer. So often I see some great pieces of furniture that I think "Trena could do wonders with this". Amazing work once again.
Boy that was a lot of work. Hope your customer appreciates it. That looks lovely. I really learn alot from you Trena. I don't refinish anymore but I still love furniture.
Let us all pause and give thanks that Trena, and not I, was commissioned to color this piece. Frustration alone would have led to a hot pink table! Trena is an artist. Love watching her work!
When you say probably should have burned this one... that means a must watch episode! You do amazing work! Thank you for sharing your experience and talent!
Thar turned out beautifully, Trena. Thanks for letting us come along on your journey. It's always nice to watch you make something old look so good. We can't wait for the next one. Love, Dave and Amy ❤
Ms Trena .... We The Few ... enjoyed your attention to detail and patience in providing this repair. We look forward to your next workmanship we learned a lot 🧘♂, Thanks again for sharing your thoughts and prayers.... OORAH!!
You are the Houdini of furniture reconstruction! We just need more people with the creativity, patience and love of perfection like you in our world. What a treasure you are..... Cheers
The new color is such a pretty warm honey. In about 1960 my mom got new furniture, all Early American warm honey maple. Made for a warm, inviting home. This table brought back good memories. Beautiful job!
WWTD=What Would Trena Do. I find myself thinking this all the time. You have changed how I think about furniture, colors, shades, functionality. Just how a piece will last and change with time. Thank you Trena
So amazing it turned out. Glad you didn't burned it as your title to this video suggested. Love these kind of tables, so versatile and useful. Good job as always!
Wow, that was a hard job. You did a wonderful looks beautiful. I hope your customer appreciates everything you went through and pays you at least five hundred dollars
I uave watched you for a few years now(4-5) and your skillset amazes me. When I started, you were pretty dang good already. Fast forward to today and the last 3 big pieces (the big floor level drawer (with all the slider repair), the tall 3 pc. with the sad top veneers and the giant 5 or 6 pc set with chairs, all included cabinetry, carpentry and superb finish have elevated you and now highlight you so well. I have said I pour my cuppa and am entertained with your ease and confidence. thank you Trena, I am a true fan!👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
This is a great illustration of the decisions that have to be made in furniture restoration. Your instincts are spot on: this is a functioning piece of furniture, not a piece of art. It was built as a functioning piece of furniture and should be restored to be one. That is the best way to honor the original maker.
Many of the pieces you restore look like they should be firewood, but you work your magic, and they look beautiful. I assume many of these are cherished family heirlooms.
I am often amazed at your eye for color and how you can match even a very difficult hue. Great work as always. Great little table for a "kids table" on the holidays.
Wow Trena you are a master! I would love to have half your knowledge and experience. This is the type work I love. You have such a good eye for color and finish. Keep up the amazing work!
Superb! I spray painted my clothesline and my trigger finger was locked up for a couple of days lol. Apparently you don’t have this issue. Lol. Keep up the great work. Very enjoyable to see them return to life!
Masterpiece !!!! Love the color and it did take sometimes to find the right one but you succeed and this table is safe for many more years !!! So no burning this table......😅😅
When I saw you using the router to cut the rebate for the hinges I thought wow, Trena is doing it freehand! Then I noticed the template and I didn´t feel so inferior! Good job!
Of course Trena did an outstanding job on this piece (as usual,) but I would have liked to have seen some dents and mars on the too-new top. One way to achieve this is to take the new wood, scatter some fine gravel on it, stack it in several layers, and drive a car over it! It's easy and quick and gives a truly random pattern of dents.
I 👍 your comment but disagree. She did an “honest repair” which is now part of the historical story of the table. The fact that the new wood is not distressed is part of that story and in no way diminishes its beauty. It keeps it honest which is beautiful in itself.
Very nice restoration. I enjoyed the way you added the inset picture of the top while toning it. It allowed the viewer to see where it started and where it ended.
Beautiful end result ❤ I’m glad your client agreed to change the table top. A wobbly top, you know what happens. Glass of red wine, you’re wearing white and yeah, disaster 😂. Thank you for sharing this process I enjoyed it. ♥️🇨🇦
Its a shame the original top was so damaged that it couldnt be refinished but this is a good job!! Since there was no emotional attachment, it made your work easier!
I grew up using this type of table. Through the late forties, fifties and sixties these tables were very common. I love the groves and gouges from years and years of use.
Excellent transformation that kept the piece true to its original aesthetic. The new top was a great call. Really liked the video technique of the raw insert to watch the development of the top as as you applied all those color and finish elements.
@Trena~ Man oh man are Mohawk's Toners the unsung heroes for furniture restoration! I can't help but compare the essential nature of wood toners to the color toners used by hair stylists.... both are so transformative! Any woman who has ever gotten their hair colored understands what I mean.... TONING IS KEY! With your mastery of color, I'd even trust you to color my hair Trena!! LOL!! ;-) You turned this humble table into the Belle of the the Ball like Cinderella! It was fun to see the transformation! CHEERS TO YOU MY FRIEND! ~~Christy~~
I am always amazed at how you color match. You are a true artist.
Amazing work !
anytime you say something should have been burned i immediately know it will be a stellar restoration and this was no different. LOL.
Very Nice!

Amazing work once again.
Thanks!
Trena is moving to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan soon. Maybe that is closer.
I look around my house and think "Trena could do wonders with this!"
@@30dayride67 I do too. I have an antique Stickley buffet with a very difficult to open drawer and I know she could fix it.
Yeah, me too!

When you say probably should have burned this one... that means a must watch episode! You do amazing work! Thank you for sharing your experience and talent!
Lol you welcome
Exactly right, Connie. MUST WATCH; I can wash the car tomorrow or take out the trash or the laundry can wait another day but MUST WATCH this one.
Good one , I saw the grand Trina smile 😃 it's been a spell . And or I've been in a spell. So now I'll view a few 😁 Fun-tastic job !
Some things look better on fire, but not this one. I learn something from every video. Great job.
Thar turned out beautifully, Trena. Thanks for letting us come along on your journey. It's always nice to watch you make something old look so good. We can't wait for the next one. Love, Dave and Amy ❤
Glad you enjoyed it

Thankyou!
Just beautiful!!!
I've met many pro polishers who do not have your skills, colour matching is a sort after skill in the furniture game and you have it.
I think the choice to replace the top was spot on. I don't feel like that pine was the original top anyway. Turned out great!
You are the Houdini of furniture reconstruction! We just need more people with the creativity, patience and love of perfection like you in our world. What a treasure you are..... Cheers
Thankyou
I can't watch most repairers and there nonsense, you and ol'Thomas. Great job👍
Trena ! The mad scientist does it once again , beautiful !
Lol thanks

Reminds me of the furniture we had back in the 1960’s. When we got married my wife and I bought knotty pine furniture.
The table is beautiful now. I couldn't believe the size of the nails almost like railroad spikes 🤣 You really do wonderful work.
Wonderful work! The table looks like new. Always a pleasure to watch you. Dannke for this video, looking forward to a new one. See you soon Maria
