    Great job Nick on cleaning the Timberland Nubuck boots. It’s amazing how great the boots look after you removed the bicycle grease. I’ve used an eraser product on suede boots and i always felt that the eraser just moved the dirt and stains around the boots. Kudos to you Nick! Nice work...Ed

    I am a loyal Timberland customer. I know they aren't the "Best" boots, but out here in the boonies, they work well for me and don't scream "Hipster". The cleaning products are very good, and if you use the protectant spray as soon as you get them, it keeps stains from setting into the nubuck. I buy it in the larger size spray bottle. I really like the patina they get, and they wear well for me.

    Just wondering I’ve the elevated premium stone street waterproof boots. If I use Renewbuck does that remove the waterproof ness so I’d then need to apply the. Balm proofer ? Thanks

    I know the instructions say to apply the cleaner with a cloth but I find that it is simply much easier to apply it liberally directly to the boot and then just rub it around with your hands - as you would maybe do when applying leather conditioner to the boot. The cloth absorbs too much of the product and it just takes longer than slapping it on with your hands.

    • @avelar62003
      @avelar62003 2 роки тому +2

      I tried this just now thanks to your comment. Now I think I prefer it over the cloth. A little spillage but I feel like I covered more of the boot with my hand. Thanks!

    Clean the boots with Lexol liquid cleaner using a soft sponge and warm water. Make sure you clean the welts.
    Let dry and apply a coat of Picard antique leather dressing with a soft cloth or your fingers.
    Your Tim's will look fantastic and the Picard's will keep the leather supple and water repellent.
    Remember leather fibres are somewhat hydrophilic and cleaning with water will not damage good quality leather.

      yeah, was kinda of disappointed and was wondering why he didnt show the front view. paid advert? i just use a shoe brush to brush out the dirt and whats left it blends in. not a big issue.

    My timberland boots are 5 years old, I wear them to bring my daughter to the horse range, where they get muddy up to the tree embossing almost every week.
    I wash them with hand soap under running water and let them dry on a shoe tree.
    Then put one coat of collonil nubuk spray.
    As anyone can imagine they are scuffed and beaten up. I also had to replace laces once.
    But they keep my feed dry and warm.
    I think I payed around 70€ back then in an Amazon deal. So far, this is the best value for money.

    I find power washing them and then using sand paper works the best. The eraser is second best. 👍

  • @andrewsalazar98
    @andrewsalazar98 3 роки тому +1

    So I scrubbed the hell out of my Tim’s so much so that the actual smooth leather is starting to show on some parts of the boot. Is there a way to sand it all down so I can get rid of the nubuck and go straight to the full grain smooth hide?

    • @lx_anda
      @lx_anda 3 роки тому +1

      What you might of done was in fact burnished the nubuck. Burnishing leather lays the fibres down flat to give a smooth finish. Given how nubuck is made, you will never have a full grain surface, since that has been sanded away during the manufacturing process.

    • @smithwesson7765
      @smithwesson7765 3 роки тому

      The grain has been removed during the finishing process. Best thing you can do is apply a few coats of neutral leather conditioner to even out the surface colour. I used this on my nubuck Tim's and it looks fine.

    P'shaw. Those boots were barely dirty. What happens when you 'really' wear your suede boots and they are genuinely dirty?
    I have a pair of Chippewa rough-outs that have always been the most comfortable boots I've ever had -- so I wore them a LOT. The right side of the rt boot (accelerator pedal boot) is especially dirty where it's constantly rubbing with the rubber floor mat of the car. I have searched end.less.ly for a solution.
    Please please please post a video of how to clean this type of issue! Again, be bold, the boots can't look worse than they do now so it's safe to try all kinds of things!
