This was an amazing resto-mod!!!! I have been sooooooo impatiently waiting for this video ever since Steven dropped off this compressor to your shop. I know whoever the lucky winner is, will surely have a quality piece to add to their shop.
You are living my dream restoring vintage machinery. I'm in central Texas and plan on visiting the museum soon. Another great restoration and rescuing a beautiful machine from the scrap pile.
That was a rust bucket of sadness and you turned it into a smooth running cool classic symbol of the early to late 50s where everything was meant to look all futuristic and spacey. Good on you dude.
Hi Justin....I've been dealing with electrical and electronics for over fifty years. Here's a tip for future restorations: Change power cords on any old equipment to 3-wire (grounding plug), and attach the ground wire to the casting (or metal body of the tool/machine. Also, I would have replaced that old switch. New exact replicas are available online, and I wouldn't trust the old one for very long. The restoration, however, was very cool...as is that marvelous old compressor!! Thanks to you, and Stephen, for another great video! :-)
Very nicely done. I especially liked where you 'polished' the edges of the fins and such. I love the red, very similar to my '07 Mitsubishi Galant. I bought a '79 Arien's snowblower for $60. Now I got about $180 after new points, condenser, spark plug, belts, and ball bearing to augur and built my own set of chains out of 24' of 5/16" chain, 12' of longer link for sides, and shorter for treads and 4 turnbuckles, but a great machine. I have an itch to take it totally apart and redo everything. I put the rubber pads on which helps a lot so I put a little 'turbo' decal on it. As far as the compressor, I'd love to have it but rather bow out and let someone else enjoy, at least I hope they really enjoy it. Looks like it might be a nice tire inflator. I believe it should be run like everything else needs to be run, especially our bodies, lol. Thanks for sharing.
Oh that compressors awesome is beautiful I love the black and red candy red I enjoy these restoration videos I love to see old things come back to life and I would love to own that little compressor oh yeah good luck to whoever gets that it's going to be a great little piece
Agreed! I am all too aware of that, I have piles of things I've collected just waiting to be fixed! (and I can't find anywhere to recycle the ones beyond fixing)
What a gorgeous piece of equipment. Why can't things be built these days to look beautiful as well as be functional? Awesome job and a proper restoration, not just a clean up and paint job.
i was born and raised in toledo ohio which is where that compressor was made. i drove by the plant hundreds of times over the years. it was closed down many years ago. it was nice to see the toledo tag on its side.
I love your videos so much. It takes me a few days to get through a whole video because I keep falling asleep they are so relaxing. If you added the rain sound throughout the video I'd be in trouble. Love that you're doing. Keep it up!
@Sheik Yerbouti I'll look it up....................... Wikipedia just told me: The first certain 'atomising' type airbrush was invented by Charles Burdick in 1893... Who knows! Still a great restoration!!
I checked oil on a Devilbliss compressor once a week for 30 plus years, I was pleased to see they haven't changed oil plug design an iota, very comfortable and user friendly, quality.
Dude, your to good. You have so much patience and attention to detail. Great job on this I could never do anything this great I'm to impatient and to bust great job
I like the color combo. That thing was very 40-50's era art deco. Love it. I don't need it so i'll abstain from the give away but I'll keep a look out on Stephen's channel for the video anyway just to get some views on it to help him out. Nice job, sir! Hopefully i'll get a chance to meet you guys in a few months.
Love the video. Have you ever thought about a little bit of narration while doing this? Hearing a little bit of your knowledge along the way would be so great. It is so nice to see your videos. I love them.
Came out awesome Justin. When you started to do the rust converter i thought to myself, that color and shine up the highlights. Bam! Thats what you did. Red adds a little flare. Great job!
Now there is a lost art, hand making screws that way O.o as a kid more than 40 years ago I used to watch my grandfather make them for all sorts of stuff and he would temper 'em. He was a Royal Navy artificer during WW2 and said it was always quicker to knock something up out of stuff than go down the shop :)
A lovely restoration of a period piece, as always loving your videos and if I ever get over to the USA from Thailand I will be coming to pay a visit! Inspiring work and thank you as always for sharing your love of these machines!
*The Good of the Land* Excellent restoration, man I could watch these all day. Love your techniques, copy them all the time. Looking forward to future videos.
Very nice job! It turned out fantastic... I like the red/black combo! I like your resto videos very much-- they are well filmed, well lit, and move at a good pace. Keep up the good work!
Thank you for this nice restoration. That is exactly what I needed after a day like this one. Hat to drive 70km in the rain (8°C outside) with my scooter for nothing. I love it when people don't answer calls and messages... That red color is beautifull, locks like candy. After 5 min of watching I thought... hmmm there was no rain until 6:30min ... I love that consistency, no video without raindrops smashing on your roof. Would be nice to own a piece of your work but shipping to Germany would be mutch to expensive!
This was an amazing resto-mod!!!! I have been sooooooo impatiently waiting for this video ever since Steven dropped off this compressor to your shop. I know whoever the lucky winner is, will surely have a quality piece to add to their shop.
Fantastic. That compressor sure is built, unlike the throwaway units they make today.
I love the way that art deco combines a beautiful design and functionality. Loved this video.

Justin, I had a great time visiting with you at your shop, and the museum is a great little place to visit with the family.
+driftpunch It was nice meeting you as well!
That was a rust bucket of sadness and you turned it into a smooth running cool classic symbol of the early to late 50s where everything was meant to look all futuristic and spacey. Good on you dude.
Finally!!! I get to see restoration of something OTHER than a vise.

That's a nice old air brush compressor. DeVilbiss has and still does make great air atomized and HVLP spray equipment. Thanks again Justin.
Oh that compressors awesome is beautiful I love the black and red candy red I enjoy these restoration videos I love to see old things come back to life and I would love to own that little compressor oh yeah good luck to whoever gets that it's going to be a great little piece
Great job on the restoration! Couldn't be better!
The Colours look good together.
Fantastic job love to see good old things to come back to life
Wow, the inside of the motor looked great compared to the outside!
Dang, this beautiful compressor belongs in a living museum!
They built things to last back then, unlike now days were everything is practically disposable.
Agreed! I am all too aware of that, I have piles of things I've collected just waiting to be fixed! (and I can't find anywhere to recycle the ones beyond fixing)
@@TheFurriestOne There's a channel on UA-cam called Hand tool restore. If it's old he can fix it.
I'm thinking you mean Hand Tool Rescue, who I already follow and enjoy every video, but thank you!
You could be right there. Good luck.
What a gorgeous piece of equipment. Why can't things be built these days to look beautiful as well as be functional? Awesome job and a proper restoration, not just a clean up and paint job.

Great job Justin! I love how the older tools have design as well as function. Very cool
I love your videos so much. It takes me a few days to get through a whole video because I keep falling asleep they are so relaxing. If you added the rain sound throughout the video I'd be in trouble. Love that you're doing. Keep it up!
Love the red with black and then silver stripes! Reminds me of a race car lol. Nice restoration!
That just has late 1940's design written all over it. What a piece of art! Great restoration brother!
Just WOW. Great restore! 👏👏👏
It turned out real great.
That's an AWESOME paint scheme!
One of the prettiest things I've seen you do .
I think it's great I love this kind of stuff bringing old stuff to life again I like doing that with old fishing reels even push buttons..

Awesome Job Justin!
Turned out looking AMAZING!! Great work! Do you think this was for an airbrush?
@Sheik Yerbouti I'll look it up....................... Wikipedia just told me: The first certain 'atomising' type airbrush was invented by Charles Burdick in 1893... Who knows! Still a great restoration!!
It turned out awesome
I finally bought me some rust converter. I love the color after it is finished. What a great product. 😁
It's good stuff. I started playing with how long I leave it on changing the finish. Full cure makes it a rust proof hard finish.
That’s a fantastic job you did. 👍
Nice restore on the compressor, I like the colors you went with. As someone else said it is a cool Art Deco design
Love the colours, nice job restoring that tool.
Beautiful piece of work
Love the resto and love the color
I checked oil on a Devilbliss compressor once a week for 30 plus years, I was pleased to see they haven't changed oil plug design an iota, very comfortable and user friendly, quality.

Never thought I’d cover an air compressor. Great restoration!
Nicely done. It sucks that no-one makes anything like this new anymore. When did we loose the idea of function with some class?
That really come out nice!
That was a great restoration looks amazing
Love the video. Have you ever thought about a little bit of narration while doing this? Hearing a little bit of your knowledge along the way would be so great. It is so nice to see your videos. I love them.

Hi The Good of the Land,
excuse my bad English.
Simply super your work on tools etc.
why are you checking for lead paint?
