Right, last comment I promise. A few people have pointed out that there's a glaring inaccuracy in this video. When we're flying in the Pacific in 1941, Bill mentions that we've been at war with Japan for 2 years already. Well, seeing as Japan declared war on the British Empire in '41, that'd be strange.
Now, to defend this horrible misstep, I intend to use the same argument that the historical advisors on the real 2001 production of Pearl Harbour used. Forgot to check massive details until it was too late, then hoped nobody would spot it. But naturally this community is built up of people who actually know their shit. Bollocks.
@Specs310 You're talking to a man who dresses up in old clothing and pretends to fly in aircraft. Good sodding luck.
I liked the garden shed tool props no wonder those lancasters were too heavy.

Squire: so we're going to use shovel as steering column
Haha! It's the most commented thing!
Spade-grip for Spitfires, antlers for the Lancaster, come on chaps!
Used sledgehammers when they were flying the bombers 😂
Good ol British engineering for you, since in the event you happen to crash behind enemy lines, you can use the steering column to beat the enemy to death before you are captured and forced to build bridges, which you can also use the steering column for.
I love that the plane joystick is a shovel. purely ingenious!
High quality props is our thing.
@@SquireComedy you might want to clarify that you'd used a spade
Sometimes their genius is... it's almost frightening.
Looks like a hatchet job to me...
I almost shot my prostrate out my ass laughing when I saw the stick/shovel handle....
Bill sounds like he's having a stroke when he tries to impersonate that stuttering dude.
Is that what he was doing? LOL!
Wait, what!? That was stuttering? He definedly sounded like he was having a stroke.
I thought he was like pretending to fall asleep or something, that is not what a stutter sounds like
Its funny how there were two real pilots "George Welch" and "Kenneth Taylor" who fought off Japanese Zeroes at Pearl and their story was far more interesting than the movie was.
Bloody agree with that.
Or how the movie tries to steal away Thach Weave as if it was invented by movie protagonists when they were in training before the war "playing chicken" and has nothing to do with a man it is named after...
Welch and Taylor were heroic, but they got one Zero (Kaga fighter) at most during the fighting at Pearl. The bulk of their seven kills were unescorted dive bombers.
@@Nachtsider that's probably because the dive bombers were more of a threat to the fleet, u try sinking a battle ship with machine gun touting zero pmsl
@@tictoc3148 Actually they engaged the dive bombers over the airfields, not the fleet, only long after the Japanese had already delivered their ordnance, and were on their way home. The 250kg bombs carried by the Aichi D3As were poor weapons to use against battleships; not one of the battleships sunk at Pearl was taken out by dive bombers alone.
“Wait what am I watching? That doesn’t look very accurate” two words “war” “thunder”
Still more realistic than the real movie
Correct.
yes but white tiger is urod now

Did you get the Bader reference?
@@ltdminer9549 Douglas Bader. Yeah he was hard core. Lost his legs in a flying incident between Wars, shot down 109's with false legs straped on, and ended up at Coldits. 9:19 as an Italian, this made me chuckle.
10:46: Be honest, how many times did it take to nail that scene

The ending “Doolittle raid” should’ve been the famous Raid on Taranto with the Fairey Swordfish. I think that’s a good equivalent!
I hope you mean Taranto. I don’t think raiding Toronto would’ve done any wonders for the allies...
They probably returned to their base in Montreal afterwards!
Also, 2nd comment but don’t care, Pearl Harbour actually took a lot of inspiration from this raid, so yeah it would be pretty fitting
Thanks for the correction, the auto correct remains undefeated
Taranto raid happened in 1940, it wouldnt fit in the film.
You know Squire’s fallen on hard times when even their binoculars are cardboard
We've been using them for months. Been in 3 or so videos I think!
@@SquireComedy Ah, well it makes me nostalgic of the old Cardboard Warfare series on UA-cam seeing all of the props so perfectly fine by me.
