Most complete SUV ever made
I've had one like yours for 6 years and I'm happy with it
I think the envoy and the ford broncos are REAL SUV's but the ford excursion was like a road king of suvs
i have the shorter version and this thing is kinda epic for a first car handles mud and trails well but also got some good power I live in hilly areas and it is nice powering up them without taxing the engine too much. the paint and interior has held up insanely well just like yours got about 153k and cant wait to hit 200k!
you are lucky to have that as a first car, my sisters first car didn't even have power steering
I just bought one! Its amazing!!
253,000 miles on my 2003 SLT. Still going strong.
Just hit 230k for me!!
@@suprememilkers413 mine is now over 274K. Still going. I read that the average is 400k
I really want one of these. My friend has a slightly used one in 2005. I remember how comfy it was, and drove well to Maine and back. Really miss the early-mid '00
Great review bud love my 2006 Envoy Denali V8 imo looks better than most newer mid size SUVs out now thanks for the positive video
I miss mine so bad never had problem with mind leather inside 4.2 liter
Great review a lot of awesome info now I can’t say the weather I want the XL or the SLT. Good job.
Got mine from a little old lady that bought it new. Fully maintained. Only had 63K in 2018! Now has only 110K in 2022. I6 engine. Runs great. I expect it to last well past 250K. I could sell it today for twice what I paid for it.
I had the same problem with the rear glass hatch… just buy new gas struts and it works like new
I used to have a 2004 xl. Man I wish that SUV. It did everything I asked of it. When we went camping in San Felipe, we would fill inside of car with stuff, we had things tied to the roof racks, and we had a small trailer with a bunch more stuff on it, and of course the entire family fit inside.
For an inline 6 it really punched above its weight.
I want another Envoy!
For sure! its an awsome truck!
I have a 2004 Gmc envoy Xl SLT with the 4.2, we are the second owner and it has 197K, the body and paint is in great shape and after 17 years and many winters in the mid west the body is barely showing signs of rust in the wheel Wells
They sure built these truck to last
Cool video... thanx for sharing.... I bought a 2002 Chevy Trailblazer XLT 4.2 Vortex 3 months ago... not the 7 seater... Awesome Truck..... do you call a SUV a truck? 68000 miles on her.... Love her... Heavy, but fast and solid on the road, see, I live in Germany and some sections on the Hi-way has no speed limit, so doing 175km/h or 108,7 M/h is no problem at all.... I'm very happy with a solid Truck.
GO BIRDS!! And your absolutely right knobs and buttons way better than screens!!
I still got my 05 gmc envoy and still running good and Go Eagles💚🖤🦅
Very well said👍
You can get new gas shocks for the rear glass and tailgate from pep boys for a reasonable price even cheaper on Amazon. They are very easy to replace using a small flat blade screw driver or a pick to pop off the little metal bands that clip around the pivot points that is all that holds them on. I replaced mine with ones from the just yard I found 1 good one on different trucks till I had all 4..
Good info👍
I like the 06 GMC Envoy Denali I have - it's been a great car and fun to drive. I have 200K miles on it, but had to take it to Mexico to get a head job and rank'n'pinion relpaced; also the mechanic replaced all the ball joints. My 01 Suburban has 320K miles and never needed any ball joints replaced, so the Envoy isn't holding up as well as the bigger truck.
Thank you
Good Review!
Just got a 04 XL with 152000 on the clock, I also have a 02 avalanche 2500 with a 8.1L (yes GM did make a 2500 avalanche just not an HD). I would take the envoy any place I take my avalanche off road, it won't pull my 26 ft. travel trailer but it will haul the 4 wheelers, the only thing I wish it had that it doesn't is a tow/haul mode on the transmission
I can smell how much gas both of those take
@Tyler Albright well the avalanche gets 11 by itself, pulling the travel trailer on a 2 lane I get 7, on the interstate I get 3 but that's rolling 75 plus mph, all day long, I didn't buy it to be a Toyota, I bought it to pull and it will do that
@@glengissing1781 yeah but very expensive
@Tyler Albright it wasn't until Brandon got elected. How on earth, somebody can screw us up so fast in such a short time is beyond me
The little envoy gets 20 mpg without a trailer on the hiway , put the 4 wheelers behind it, and we get 17 to 18, that isn't to bad when the wife is keeping up to me on the interstate
You can buy new gas struts for the rear glass they are cheap and easy to replace. I don't know why they would tell you that.
where are you from just curious with the Eagles. PA?
I just bought a 2003 gmc envoy but the "regular" one not the XL
Dang. I had my ascender for over 2 years and yet i had no idea that you can recline the back seats
I have an '03 Envoy (not XL) that I bought brand new in late 2002. It has 125K miles on it, and unfortunately it has needed many repairs through the years. It eats thermostats like crazy. However, he inline 6 engine is solid and will probably run forever. It is no longer my daily driver, but I can't bring myself to part with it because it is so versatile. I've also used to tow many things and even pulled down trees with it.
Can you connect your phone to it and listen to music?
No. It has the original AM/FM/CD (and cassette!) head unit in it. I've considered installing a new head unit, but since I don't drive it everyday, so far it has not been worth it.
Lol I have gmc envoy and a dart to lol what a coincidence
V6 inline straight 6 cylinder Yup ya don't see that anymore !
Very good review.
4:08, yeah meant vertical, *face palm*
is there a aux cord
Have you had any engine/motor chain problems?
Nope, we've had no powertrain problems so far!
Don't worry about change the time on that is not complicated. Yes takes time but is not going to be like hell those car are bullet proof
my suv
How about airbags
I have one and has a gas leak underneath the driver side
Gas line you can replace it, and break lines too they rust out real bad in Northern states from road salt
Stop calling it a truck. It's a SUV. IF the roof retracted, you could use it as a truck. But yours doesn't.
this reminds me of grandfathers 2003 he got so mad at the electrical gremlins he fed it after midnight and im scared
Biggest peace of crap the in line 6 is the only thing it has going for it my 2005 .has 200 x miles on it you can't use the 4 wheel drive.air condition don't work but it does get from A to B which I am a big fan of beats walking .anyday of the week .but I for see a Toyota in the near future...
But so hard on gas
I don't like the extended version of these vehicles. Looks like a minivan. If I want something with a third-row I'll step up to a Tahoe. A real truck not this SUV
The struts are cheap
