Im super late. Just bought a 03 Envoy for 1,500.. it had flashing check engine light which means misfire. Replaced one coil pack on cylinder 6 and spark plug. No more check engine light. I love this SUV.
I have an 04 Envoy base model with about 35K miles. One of the best cars I've ever driven. My only complaint is that I don't have any way to adjust the mirror without rolling down the drivers and passenger windows and manually pushing the mirror into place
i just bought a 2002 loaded envoy. full steering wheel controls computer package 4 wd with auto select, leather seats electric everything, on star headlight washers heated seats full power seats the works for 2500 bucks. body is in excellent condition almost do damage besides a few minor scratches. we towed our 20 foot pontoon last weekend with it. did great. the back glass shocks were wore out i got a replacement set for $15 on ebay. lifts on its own now. im really liking this car. 137,000 no issues with engine at all. drove it 2000 miles already. speakers are crap and need replaced. that was a normal deal on the trail/voys
Mine's at 182,000 miles and counting. I wouldn't say it's "basic" and lacking features... The standard features of this car are somewhat advanced for the timeframe. Of course, this is a $40,000 vehicle new. Even today, my 2017 vehicle doesn't have a leather steering wheel, fog lights, dual climate control, and power seats. I had to pay extra for the automatic down windows on it only comes on the driver side, the Envoy does front driver and passenger. Just my take on it... I prefer driving the GMC over my new car!
Mark from [fordmustang98guy] I have had it for about 6 months. I am the third owner. I got it from my grandfather. no steering wheel buttons, manual seats, and manual mirrors.
That is not a "ton of miles" for a 13 year old vehicle! I am in the US, I did the conversion... 144,000 miles. Which is on average 11k per year.... way below the average for most Americans. Maybe it's different in Canada?? lol
This is my favorite vehicle on a video game I play because it has a nice horn and it’s cheap to maintain! Nice video and that small 6 cylinder is great on gas. Thanks for the review.
i have a 2004 envoy SLT comes fully loaded leather heated seats adjustable pedals rain sensor dual climate control two tone leather dont use timing belt its timing chain $2000
GMC Envoy's don't actually have timing belts, they have timing chains. It's hard to tell from listening to a video, but it sounds like your serpentine belt tensioner took a shit💩😂. One of my wife's vehicles happens to be a 2005 7 passenger XL model that still looks brand new inside and out. It has every single option available that year, except for leather seats. It's also selectable 4wheel drive with the 4.2 Inline 6 cylinder like yours. Less than 147,xxx miles now and it still runs and drives like new. The only downfall is that it's never been great on gas, but it's comfy and roomy on family trips, and that's really the only reason we bought it.
That envoy wasn’t mine it belongs to an old neighbour who lived across the street from me that person who owns this Envoy moved & I am not sure if they still have it, How long has your wife had her 2005 Envoy?
+Mark from [fordmustang98guy] so? Mine is an SLE and and it's got leather. There's a lot of more features in this base model car than any other. I don't care for the driver info center. Actually a sunroof was an option back then. The 4.2 liter inline 6 is one of the most reliable and most sophisticated engine gmc ever made and it sounds great to on acceleration and normal driving. I personally prefer this over my corolla 5 speed I had. The le corolla I had was just blah for a fully loaded model.

4 Wheel Drive 8:22 2HI = 2 Wheel Drive, A4WD = Automatic 4 Wheel Drive, 4HI = 4 Wheel Drive High, and 4LO = 4 Wheel Drive Low

I know I'm late but these atlas engines have timing chains, not belts, and a squeaking noise would most likely be a pully or a serpentine belt.
Dude doesn't know the vehicles he reviews, unfortunate...

Recently bought 4wd slt model so far she has few issues but just needs some TLC and she'll be good as new
The squeaking from the timing belt drives me crazy. That means I don't like hearing that noise.
My dad has 2003 Envoy XL
That must have options. My envoy does not have power mirrors or seats, and it's the same trim and year.
Dylan Comstock Like for instance there is no buttons on the steering wheel lol
Dylan Comstock How long have you had your Envoy?

this looks very similar to our 2002 trail blazer we used to have but ending up getting rid of it last year
because they had so many problems with it so they just got rid of it and no they did not by it brand new
J.R.'s Car Reviews You could have kept that trailblazer but it had lots of issues sadly

In Canada 🇨🇦 we go by Kilometres
@@fordmustang98guy I know... which is why I converted Kilometers to Miles. It's a low mileage vehicle for its age...
@@CoryMatthew87 2003 is now 19 years ago
@@fordmustang98guy no shit! You posted the video in 2016... and once again, it was not a heavily driven vehicle for it's age. LOL moving on now....
