Just received one today and I love it. With all the extra that came with the banjolele it is a great package for the price. I have a tenor ukulele from kmise and a aklot concert and can say that they make good instruments for the money.
I purchased one after seeing this review and I think it's great. What a fun instrument !! It's much better quality than equally priced banjolele's out there.
Oh i have one and its a solid little unit...try singing in to its skin as a test....the resonance back...just fab. Its quality. I was really surprised too

I can't get it tuned, and when I press on a fret and strum, it doesn't change notes. Frustrating!

What's the intro tune?
It is a tune I wrote called, "Blackberry Dreams" and will be taught in my lessons.

If I have never played an instrument, can i start with a banjolele, or should i start with regular ukulele to learn on?
They are played exactly the same, so it really does not matter.
