(this is a simple flash animation i made for fun
nothing about it is serious or aimed to be authentic towards characters portrayed)
master chief is a super human in the most advanced suit known to man, the suit has a energy shield that regenerates and can take a beating before going down. his strengths are his speed and heavy hitting damage (can kill an enemy with 2 punches) height 7.2
Darth vader is a master of the darkside and has a well known knowledge of the force. he is in an advanced suit that keeps him alive. his strengths are his lightsaber skills, controlling objects with the force and the ability to zap enemies with electricity (vader will only use in extreme circumstances as it can overload his robotic limbs if used for an extensive period of time) height 6.1

I feel like chief vs. Vadar wouldn't be that much different from him fighting the didact. The didactic had the ability to control him, similar to the use of the force, but chief still ends up killing him with the halo ring. So you could say two things about these opponents: 1) without the Didacts's ability to control other beings, he would be outmatched in combat skill and 2) Because of the Didact's stupid control ability, chief wouldn't have been able to defeat him without the use of the halo ring. The Didact is just too overpowered for a one on one fight.
Matt Nuguid it'll take way more then one, the only reason why blue team survived is because the monitor disabled the didact, if it wasn't for him they would of ended up like team black, which ties into master chief's "luck"

Jedi's reflexes and moves can move much faster than the eye can see. And even with the armor restricting his mobility, Vader can still react with more than enough speed to the Chief, considering he was able to fight and kill multiple Jedi, all of whom were far faster than he was.

Vader is known to hurl several hundred pounds of debris all the while fighting a lightsaber duel, and deflect laser fire and other attacks with his bare hands. So with that in mind, Chief wouldn't be able to touch him. Vader can just chuck him across the room, until Chief runs out of ammo, or just pull him forward onto his lightsaber. The sheer shock and the fact that Chief has no way of fighting a telekinetic attack, boom.
If you want to use the energy shield for Chief logic, fine, it still doesn't excuse that he has no defense against telekinetic attacks and getting hurled around the room like a frisbee, and when Vader can sense where you really are, holograms would be useless. I mean shit he Force choked a guy through his transmission. Doesn't even need his lightsaber.

Alfons Bochove But unlike Battlefront the force unleashed games are part of the star wars storyline and in fact a very important part as it shows the start of the rebels. And remember that in the second Force Unleashed starkiller was cloned and designed to be stronger than his predecessor. Also one of darth vaders greatest weaknesses is force lightning due to a large amount of his body being robotic and with the right amount of aggressiveness starkiller was able to use it to his advantage and technically should have been able to defeat him a lot sooner.

First of all, Vader lightsaber skills and techniques are perfect, as mentioned in the books. Chief is just a marine swinging a energy sword. Who ever say chief would win because he is faster: Vader can be even faster. He fought against 8* jedi at the same time and killed them all. And a jedi is better than a marine.

On a series of notes if you read the books:
1. Master chief and all the Spartans are fast enough to dodge bullets which are much faster then lasers statistically.
2. Master chief would have a AI explaining and helping in during the fight.
3. The MJOLNIR armor has shields as well as syncs with the users mind, in reading reaction speed 10x, as well as strength, speed, and multiple other factors. In the books the chief bitch slapped a middle away from him.
4. In the books, Spartans can operate under water! The game doesn't feature this due to their lack of terrain usefulness.
5. The chief was practically trained from birth (Jedi as well but they learn meditation and calmity.) to fight in all known combat. As well as academic arts.
6. The chief, should after halo 4, but this is obviously after halo 3, would have updated armor. As well as a AI still.

How does a mere suit of armor protect u from force choke? Clone troopers have armor, and they can die from force choke.
Allow me to look at this in my best unbiased way. As a fan of both franchises Im gonna like and sub regardless of any bias I found. Now chief is wearing Spartan 2 armor. Which weighs in about half a ton total. So the arguememt vader could just throw him around is invalid. It is though possible to still throw him due to vaders powers in the force. If chief was actually out fitted with weapons the fight would be over rather quickly. His light saber yes could deflect physical bullets. But with chief having prowess with enganging large shielded targets eventually a hole will be found. Ofcourse that being said in this fight he only had an energy sword. Which is almost immediate death for vader. As the middle peice could easily be used to grab his sword and allow john to either out right kill vader or damage his respirator. Vader though powerfull with the force he shouldnt be able to use force lightning. Atleast not like that as that would eventually kill chief assuming vader knows how to use it pro-longed. From what I assume the lightsaber could peirce Chiefs armor meaning any lucky swipe or simply outplaying chief it would of been an easy victory. But Vaders head strong approach he is know for does mean he is at a disadvantage. Overall Chief would of won in majority of scenarios simply due to his agility and what weapon was provided. Though vader could win but not by his normal ways. Or atleast conventional means.

AutismAlert Lad I've read the comics. I know full well if vader had a modern suit it he would've beat chief like he was a rag doll. But the suit he's forced to wear has many weak points, actively hurts him, and makes moving a grueling task. Vader has done some impressive stuff in comics but he hasnt delivered a consistent bar that I can place him in. Vader is just so fucked in comic cannon that the movies at this point are more reliable.
Haha I don't believe Master Chief would make it past the first 30 seconds of engagement with Vader. What protection does he have against Force Choke? None! I love Halo and I also think master chief is a badass, but seriously I don't think this battle would be fair to chief.

I get that the ending was a way to please both Halo and Star Wars fans but in reality there is no way in hell Master Chief, or any spartan for that matter, could be Vader let alone a fully trained Jedi. The thing is Vader has one major thing going for him. The Force. All he has to do is choke MAster Chief out, and he's done. Master Chief doesn't have a force shield to protect him. Vader can deflect blaster fire, survive explosions and being cut by Lightsabers, and he has what all Jedi have, Force Sense which would allow him to see Master Chief attempting to use a sticky grenade.

The force wouldn't work against Chief the same way it wouldn't work against Dr. Doom. Their minds wouldn't be manipulated, the same way prominent characters couldn't be in Star Wars, and Chiefs suit wouldn't allow for a force choke as its too strong. The Grunt Crusader You have an inherit misunderstanding on how the force works. The force does not only work through mind manipulation and can penetrate armor. Did you not pay attention in Star Wars when Obi-Wan said "the force penetrates us". The reason Jedi aren't using the force on their main enemies all the time is because they have an inherit force shield, not a literal shield mind you. All vader has to do, which he is capable of doing, is force choke him (the armor does not nullify force choke. He's closing the airways in cheifs throat not using his clothes to choke him), use the force to push him/his grenades away, and maybe mind tricks won't work but that is only one of the many ways the force works.

You do forget, Master chief has a skeleton 15X stronger than a normal man, has the strength to flip a tank with ease, 300% increased reflexes, has way much more better eyesight and perception, has boosted tissue growth, lactase recovery decrease, heightened memory, boosted intelligence and creativity.
He wears MARK IV Mjolnir armor, which has Brain linked circuits, Force multiplying circuits, titanium alloy plating, is heat resistant, has a motion tracker, and a 5 second regenerating energy shield, which all weighs 1000 lbs.
The energy sword he wielded is 4.15 feet and can block bullets, especially plasma.
That pistol he used, the M60 magnum used 12.7mm shells, has a range of 400 ft and has a scope 2x.
His height is 7'0 ft, weighs 1287 lbs with armor, and has defeated 3 armies multiple times, defeated an entire Covenant armada singlehandedly. And can run up to 50+mph. And fell from orbit without a scratch, and was up killing Covenant in no time.

Hot take 🔥: Darth Vader wins NO Difficulty
He can sense attacks before they even occur. He has a force shield and has bathed in lava and been essentially nuked.
Durability: Vader was able to tank sidious’s lightning in an emotionally and physically weak ended state in the comics set after ROTS, while the green geezer got one tapped. Hid suit contains cortosis which deactivates lightsabers. He has also tanked essentially being nuked.
C/R speed: Vader has a multitude of MFLT+ reaction feats, being a blur as faster than lightning and avoiding blaster bolts which are basically lasers. He also was able to react to Sidious’s lightning, while Yoda failed to do so twice.
IQ: Vader was a mechanical genius, able to construct things and repair himself in dire situations or without previous knowledge. He also has an IQ of 160. Cortana is a clutch.
Force power: Vader has held oceans and bridged the gap between time and space in the canon comics. He has also made the SON and DAUGHTER submit while he was Mortis amped and he has canonically surpassed his former self.
Force Abilities: Vader has the ability to use: force choke, force speed (he rarely uses it), force scream, telepathy, the mastery of animal control, telekinesis, force freeze/stasis, and precognition.

Master Chief was stronger and faster since he was both biologically and cybernetically enhanced.
However Vader's cybernetics match him against the Chief's own. Plus his ability to master the force equalize him against the Chief's bio enhancements in ways not mentioned previously above.
I would say this would be accurate as both are fairly evenly matched even with Vader's mastery in the force. Although you could argue against that since Diadact used abilities similar to Vader's and in Halo 4 you saw him keep Master Chief at bay effortlessly. But if you added in Cortana...I think it would have been Chief by a sliver somehow (since those two pull victories from their asses regularly).
One mistake is that Vader could never use force lightning since his hands were cybernetic. Otherwise cool video!

This is cute...Halo fans wanting a super solider to defeat a Sith lord. Cute! Honestly if anyone knew how powerful Darth Vader was you would find your lack of faith disturbing in Master Chief. True Master Chief is a super augmented solider with guns and awesome armor, has been trained to be an Ultimate Elite in guns, melee and hand to hand combat with man and Alien alike Granted, but Vader is a Sith Lord, which means he is already one of the greatest warriors known in the galaxy. ( he takes on Padowans up to Jedi Masters, Other Sith lords, high skilled bounty hunters, multiple races of aliens civilized or beast like ) has amazing fighting skills with lightsaber combat, hand to hand, and has The Force as an enhancement to his physical, mental, emotional and instinct abilities which also based on his emotion it can further increase his ability if he gets super pissed. That and he would foresee Master Chief coming because of his power in the force. You have two types of super warriors, but in this case Vader has one more thing Master Chief does not. The force is the natural augmentation ability for Vader, not done by experiments, but through the highest order of discipline and training. Therefore one is more in tune with their natural power ( Vader ) In the end the two would fight and Vader would get some bruises, burns, scratches, and a possible broken bones, and maybe some broken armor, but Master Chief wouldn't be leaving the battle ground alive. its really like a 46 to 54 ratio here. 54 Darth Vader, 46 Master Chief. You can be a skilled warrior with enhancements that are near perfections ( near is key word ), but when you face another skilled warrior with a natural augmentation ( The Force and its numerous abilities ) and you learn to do them nearly perfect, MC have a much lesser chance to win. Vader is just bringing more advanced ( because machines cant match it ) and more powerful natural ability to the playing field and that's the key difference. ( I will not argue any points MC can counter with because they are invalid next to the power of the force ). In the end. Darth Vader wins! ( Star wars music plays Imperial March )
Correction: Darth Vader is an old man with a respirator and sluggish movements because he has no real arms or legs. He had trouble fighting an elderly Obi-Wan and a barely trained Luke. Even Luke was able to allude his sight in the last episode for a time, only revealing himself when Vader threatened to turn Luke's sister to the darkside. Master Chief would be able to make himself practically invisible, then BAM. One punch in the back of the head would destroy Vader's helmet and turn his skull in powder.

Samuel Eisenhower Ah I see, If you really want an argument then allow me to point out 4 things. his points are actually quite invalid. Why? Allow me to explain. Now I did give Master Chief his due credits of his power and abilities,I did say he has nearly half a chance to win, but in the end I made my decision based off that fact that Vader despite his missing limbs, is still the most powerful person wielding the force, not only did other surviving Jedis ( Padwans to masters ) say it, but the Emperor (who would totally kill MC) said it as well. You underestimate the power of the force and those who wield it highly.
Second point: Last time I checked the Didact in Halo 4 had telekinesis and he was totally owning Master Chief the only reason Chief survived is because of Cortana....He had to have help, now if this battle was one on one which it very well looks like it. Master Chief wouldnt be able to beat a person who can wield this ability. Vader if not choking master Chief, would simply lift him up using the force and crush him/ bring his body into his lightsaber/Death happens, and you know what Master Chief despite how tough he is, wouldnt be able to get out of a force grip, or survive a light saber slash across his chest.
Third point: Vader is not slow he is a Sith Lord the force increases abilities physical/mental/emotion/ The force is an increase to people who are not mere average humans. Even with the lose of limbs. What you saw and say is slow is merely 1977-1983 Acting done by who? oh yes, thats right PEOPLE, not video game play movements. If Halo was made a movie in 1977-1983 like star wars MC would be moving slower and more practical, but you would still argue how fast he moves due to games and books, same argument is allowed for Darth Vader. So please before you go judge Star wars off of 1977-1983 movie and its acting take the time to think if the technology available now was used back then, Vader would be alot more of a bad ass then credit is due. in fact Lucas said that "What is shown in the movies is slowed down next to a real Jedi/Sith battle because it would be so fast you wouldn't be able to see it." that to me sounds like its pretty fast and that to me sounds like an accurate description in the books. So no your Master Chief is by all means nothing faster then what you think. The only reason you think Vader is slow is because you bias your opinion off the technology used to make him in a movie with the movie acting used to describe Vader.

Yes I am writing a freaking school assignment here ( I should see if I can turn this in for a grade ) but you wanted me to make points...here they are. Your MC would still lose despite what you think about the force because you dont understand its powers that or you have enough sure arrogance to underestimate its abilities and those who use those abilities. Master Chief is tough, but he is not over the power of the force or a person who uses it as strong as Vader. MC would still lose because you base Darth Vader off of a 1977-1983 movie acting and Characters choreography. If MC was made around the same time he would move just like Vader in his armor done by an actor ( pretty slow ). Master Chief would still lose in combat because Darth Vader has taken on as many threats if not more than MC has taken on. Last time I checked Vader was accustomed to fighting people like the Didact who had telekinesis powers, oh wait they are called Jedi knights and Jedi Masters. In the end the equation is simple. Darth Vader + Force powers + Lightsaber + Force sensitive Combat skills > Master Chief + Super soilder + guns + Armor+ strenght + speed = Master Chief being defeated and killed. Or it can be this simple Darth Vader + Master Chief = Master Chiefs death = Darth Vaders Victory. The battle as I earlier stated would be a nice one to watch, but my result would still be Darth Vader. If you really read this all the way through so you can counter with an argument, but I suggest you stop fanboying and start moving on with your life instead of focusing on an opinion, I just had time to write this this morning. The thing is dudes or dudets you can argue all you want, but this battle is just like solving a simple math problem. 1+1 =2. Darth Vader Vs Master Chief means Darth Vader conquered another deadly foe. The battle was close, but you would hear the faint breathing of Vader as he walked away damaged, but victorious.
Master Chief is 7'2. He has an immunity to being killed by the force (Librarian's power.) He takes absolutely NO fall damage and can fall from Space. Vader uses a Light Saber and has to concentrate to use his force at all. Master Chief's constant action would remove his focus and Master Chief has better battle skills anyway considering he's been doing this since he was 6 years old. Master Chief took on the Didact and won, the Didact is just a better Sith lord.

In Halo CE first level Master Chief effortlessly melee out a metal door on the Pillar Of Autumn and can sneak up behind covenants and also kill them with a one hit melee. I admit I know more Halo then Star Wars but after watching that Luke Skywalker vs Darth Vader scene it gave me a small insight to Darth Vader.

Ean Gdaniec Alright I'll give ya the bullets, however if he isn't choking Master Chief he can still destroy them with his lightsaber (I do believe bullets are slower than light speed (which is what a laser would most likely travel at), Darth Vader also has super human strength and a force jump which can jump up canyons and several hundred feet walls (as seen in The Clone Wars), also how is a laser sword better than lightsaber combat? From what I can tell, the chief picks up the laser sword and just swings it until things die, now I could be wrong but even if he was trained in sword based combat Darth Vader is an undeniable master at swordplay and is the greatest duelist of his time. Besides, Master Chief still can't overcome that one obstacle, the force. Sure Vader won't be able to mind trick him but if it's just one soldier he could easily remove Chief's weapons. then choke him out. Chief would be defenseless. The main issue I believe is that Chief wouldn't know how to deal with vader because he's never encountered a Jedi NOR a Sith Lord who are undoubtedly stronger by nature.

Ean Gdaniec Vader has dealt with enemies who have high agility, he had to finish off the Jedi who survived the purge and all of them had much more agility than him and all of them were defeated. Master Chief can run fast, has unbreakable bones, and amazing strength. However if Vader has enough strength in the force to bring down spaceships and buildings and kill more Jedi than any other Sith before him (give or take a few) I don't see why he shouldn't be able to handle even a Spartan like Chief.

Darth vader cannot use electricity like sidious. He has prosthetic arms and that inhibits him from doing so, although he can use strong telekinisis.

I don't think anyone else here has thought of this, but since Chief is from an entirely different universe than Star Wars, where the Force does not exist, he has no connection to the Force, therefore Force Choke and other non-physical Force attacks would technically have no affect on him. However, attacks such as lightning would since they physically "lash out". And if Vader were to use telekinesis to throw something at him, then obviously it would hurt (duh..). But this is just a theory I have, so pleasedon't rant at me over it because it basically has no proof to back it up and I am aware of that fact.

Actually, this would be tough. Chief is tough, ridiculously tough. He's got quick reflexes, he knows how to combat his enemies, and he's incredibly strong. And Chief literally crashed from the sky, and survived burning up in the atmosphere. At this point, Chief is pretty much invincible.

Vader's around the same height in that armor thanks to the cybernetic portions of his limbs. He's also measured around 2 metres by all official documents, which comes out to give or take 7'. However, Master Chief was always crouching and reacting like a marine ready to spring into battle, where Vader uses that imposing height as one of his tools to spread fear, and thus moves only a split second before he needs to because even in that suit he is much faster than a normal human if he wishes to.

As much as I love Halo, that wouldn't happen... The Didact has very similar powers to that of The Force, in terms of how he was able to lift/throw the Master Chief. The only reason he got out of the Didact's hold was because Cortana was able to restrain him to the light bridge they were on. And in a situation where that couldn't happen, what would stop Darth Vader from simply Force Choking John?
and dont forget that Chief single handly took on a whole armada of covenant. and is almost every halo game, chief is alone fighting on waves with 15 more enemies every minute of the way

Don't worry about it most people overlook Chief's Main list of options when fighting Vader cause the first thing they think is Vader force choking Chief, we all know how well that worked for the Didact.

Agreed, we'll never know. It's like "can lightsabers cut Adamantium?". We are delving a little too deep into the physics of completely fictional worlds. Still, it's fun to fantasize every so often. Plus it's good to have a running comment thread without someone tearing your throat out.
I love chief, but he only really has a good chance against Vader if Vader decided to go easy on him. Vader has been able to take on and kill 4 Jedi knights at once, he was able to use the force to stop an AT-AT’s foot from stepping on him, his armor was able to survived getting hit from the main cannons on an AT-AT, he came out almost completely unscathed after two 11ton at AT-DP’s falling on top of him, he survived the malachor-V temple exploding with him in it and then collapsing on top of him, his armor also survived being 4000 meters underwater, meaning his armor was holding up against around 5000 pounds per square inch, as well as surviving a lightning bolt (although he was in pretty bad shape afterwards) not to mention the fact that he has been training with a lightsaber in sword combat for 37 years as apposed to MC’s six years there fact that if Vader is feeling particularly lazy, there is not much stopping Vader from grabbing him with the force like similar to how the diadact did, except instead of just throwing him he could just and crush organs inside his suit.

In all honesty, I am a die hard Halo fan but I love star wars too. The only way I could really see Master chief getting out of the force choke is him being far too heavy for Vader to lift. I could be wrong seeing as how I have very little knowledge of the force, but the MJOLNIR powered assault armor weighs literally half a ton.

Not true. Vader had decades worth of training and combat as well as Masterchief however, vader has fought against faster opponents and won speed doesn't win this battle and Vader is a better combatant in lightsaber combat

If Darth Vader wanted to use the Force to aid him, he would have to use it to chuck heavy objects at Chief. But these things are all fictitious, so it really doesn't matter who would win or not, because it could be written either way. Which is why it probably ended in a tie...

Hold up guys, I know you are thinking darth vader would definitely win because of his force powers, but did you forget that fact that master chief’s armor weighs 1000 POUNDS?! With that much force one touch from master chief and darth vader would at least get thrown against and probably through a wall. Also, master chief had enhancements on his body (extra durability, much much more strength) and his armor cost as much as a STARSHIP like what the heck theres no way darth vader could win.

The problem is that midiclorins are from the Star Wars universe so force is out of the question when it come to the battle.
Let us all agree that this would never happen because Star Wars is based "A long, long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away." meaning both that they would be too far away to ever find each other (unless Master Chief was in the Cryo chamber for alooooong time) and that they are in two different time areas (i.e. A long, long time ago to roughly 2557)
