So even the "least deserving" can get to God, as long as they wish to. You don't have to already be perfect (no one is). And so it gives Tyler hope, cause he still has a chance. That's my poor way of putting it!

Being catholic i Understand a deeper meaning of this song. In Catholic belief the only way to go from purgatory to heaven is if someone who is Catholic who knows you prays for you enough to go to heaven so he’s pleading with the girl that he broke up with to save his soul which I find amazing
I agree! Except, even if someone who isn’t Catholic decides one day to pray for someone who has died, God still hears their prayer. How God responds to that prayer is up to him, of course.
