Song hits different when you see oryx the first time lol
Hits as hard as the brick I shat when he was HUGE!!! all of a sudden.
Seeing a living God, and then killing his ass and taking his back rent. Back when that meant something…
NGL probably the most intimidating boss appearance in the franchise.
Please add
Grasp of Avarice
The First Disciple (full action)
Onierophobia (full action)
Look Within
Seeking the Light
Revive and Reload
Alter of Reflection
Insurrection
Aberrant Path
And, Lepidopterophobia to your watch list. You won’t regret it!
Never experienced that as I’ve seen him in vids before doing the raid but
Out of all the raid bosses the oryx Room and oryx himself is the most intimidating and like final boss type feel
Since he’s like 50x bigger then u and u see a planet behind him and it makes it seem like he’s bigger then a planet even tho he’s pretty small once he dies and floats away
throughout the years, a little note progression called "the darkness theme" has shown up in a lot of the music pieces, growing more and more pronounced until we finally got the song "the first disciple" which opens with the theme and then goes on a wild ride. would love your reaction to it
The first disciple was Nezarec? Right?
@@Gutssssss666 Rhulk is the First Disciple of the Witness. Nezarec is the Final God of Pain
@@Gutssssss666 he was anointed by Rhulk. Nezarec is a disciple buth not the first.
They never miss with the music......doesn't get the recognition it deserves, way better than most movie scores.....keep up the great reviews 👍
Dude, you absolutely nailed the theme here. I don't know if you've ever played destiny before, but you got this style of enemy right on the nose! You said that they're medieval, you said that this song in particular is very weighty and has a very powerful sound to it, which is absolutely true! I've been playing this game since it came out in 2014, and you absolutely nailed specifically, this enemy type even though, I again, don't know if you play the game, but that is who the taken King and the hive are! The army of the taken King, have very medieval names. Knights, acolytes, wizards... You freaking nailed it! I'm so happy you liked it
Credit to the composers for making that connection really stand out in the track!!
As many others already said: „Bow to no one“ and „Queen‘s Oracle“ from Destiny are definitely worth checking out. They‘re really amazing pieces. Actually a reaction to both of them would be amazing, because „Queen’s Oracle“ references the other song, but in a much more epic way imo.
Btw, both songs are based on „Mara‘s Theme“- with Mara being the Queen that the other two pieces are about.
Nice to see some destiny music appreciation from someone outside the game. Everyone in the destiny community speaks so highly of the music. 9 years of great content
The memories this song brings back are so endearing. You have to check out Rise of Iron though.
The only song I liked for that dlc was Ad victorium
Hit the nail on the head with the looping. It's designed to allow for wild variations in fight duration, with specific sections saved for damage phases or the fanfare. All of the Destiny raid music is particularly amazing, the light (us) and dark (badguys) themes and motifs have all been so instrumental in making us feel so strongly about the game.
In the latest raid, the final boss music (Oneirophobia) melodically interweaves the light and dark themes together as the boss is an ancient powerful being of the darkness resurrected in the light. The core gameplay, and the music/art teams of Destiny have carried the franchise whenever the story or breadth of activities to do have been lacking.
The older content is all free to play but careful, it can be quite the addictive hobby! Pretty much all I do with my free time.
This isn't a raid song. This is the OST for the final mission of TTK. Final Stand is Oryx's raid theme.
@@wesleyward5901 my comment is about the looping nature of Destiny's composition and an encouragement for Em to check out the Destiny raid music. At no point did I claim that Regicide was a Raid track.
This music brings back so many memories from destiny
I love how frantic this track gets in it's last half.
Queen's Oracle and The Awoken are also great tracks worth checking out.
It’s because it’s oryx’s final legs here. Youv pretty much crippled him by this point. Youv killed his son youv killed his physical form and killed everything that gave him tribute in the dreadnought being warpriest Golgorth and the Daughters. His own worm will be eating away at him so if he didn’t kill us to feed it he’d be dead
Love your videos! Awesome to see people reacting to Destiny music
ty!!
A Destiny 1 track, nice, love to see ya do one track called "the last array"
One of my favourite D1 tracks.
Glad the Destiny reactions keep coming. I know you may not be a video game fan, but when you have the sound and the visuals at the same time, it’s an experience
I actually am a huge video game fan! I mostly play fromsoftware games these days as FPS games can make me seasick, but I do play often! :)
Welcome to Destiny: The musical Reaction Channel w/ Em! I'm sure you're getting a lot of new subs because the Destiny community is really pretty rad when it comes to celebrating the best parts of the game. Hoping you get around to Grasp of Avarice because that's a cool one to jam out too!
Queen’s Oracle is another great piece from destiny that incorporates the themes of the Darkness, the Guardian, and the Queen’s theme “Bow to No One” which is also its own track from the Taken King soundtrack.
For context on Regicide, this plays when you encounter Oryx, The Taken King- a massive 4.5 billion year old dragon (best way to describe to a non-player) who has committed countless genocides. Regicide fits him perfectly.
More like a 4.5 billion year old insect that bears the powers of a death god and can strip you of your very will.
And we turned him into a gun for fun
Oryx's huge form, Massive chamber, and this song all come together to make a memory that will last a lifetime
Last Stand is one of my favourites from this album and franchise.
This soundtrack on vinyl is something else. Glad you’re jenjoying Destinys music. Also, I wish I looked good in eye glass frames like that hahahaha
I knew you'd love this one :3 Each DLC has its own Album. The Taken King was the expansion that saved Destiny! And the first DLC that released after I started. This left a MASSIVE impact on me. You should watch a walkthrough of the first mission of The Taken King. This song plays as you Kill Oryx outside of his throne world
Or play it cause d1 still up to this day
…And The Taken King comes for us all…
“Those bastards ,I’m glad you killed their king.”
Since I havent seen it mentioned yet I want to pitch in my favorite track from Destiny 2: Eden.
It plays during the garden of salvation raid, when you get your first good look at the black garden and it's vastness. It's not as popular as Deep Stone Lullaby but I feel like it's on the same level
Please listen to “last stand” it’s from the taken king too and related to Oryx as it plays when we actually face him in the raid
Love that one, also Bow to No One & Long Live the King.
So glad you’re enjoying Destiny’s music! Here’s some additional recs that I think you’d have fun reviewing!
Oneirophobia
The First Disciple
Grasp of Avarice
Keep of Voices
The Last City
The Farm
Dominus Ghaul
Young Wolf
Sepiks Prime Redux
I feel like all of these show the vast range that Destiny has with regards to its music. Hope you love these pieces as much as I do!
I enjoy all those too, and if I was to add some more of my favourites not already named, they would be as follows:
The Last Array
Bow to No One
Long live the King
Battle Stations
Dominus Ghaul
A God on Mars
Shell of What Was
Gunslinger
Darkness Gathers
Whisper of the Worm & A Thousand Wings
Athanasia
Lament
Aberrant Path
Drown in the Deep
Lepidoterophobia
Lightblade
Insurrection
Altar of Reflection
LightFall
Distant Sky
Herald of the Witness
Discipline
Resilience
Oneirophobia (Full Action)
Keep of Voices (Cursed)
I think it's important to listen to those versions of the song, since the official versions don't have everything the in-game soundtracks do, and for some of them it's downright criminal to exclude those parts.
A good Destiny 2 soundtrack to listen to is Lightblade from the Witch Queen expansion
This music just reminds me of Oryx and the nostalgia is overflowing. That was 7 years ago, wild.
Bruh when u go into the boss room for oryx and this music hits and he then he sais "at last i will have vengeance"
1:56 “I WILL END WHAT CROTA BEGAN”
"your travelers light cannot reach you here."
if ya like the music, you would like the story and game. def recommend
I'd definitely recommend Oneirophobia as another Destiny 2 theme to react to!
I think it’s great how you compared the song to the medieval times. The hive (who the taken king controls) are based around the medieval times.
4:36 I love the closed captions 😂 Bubba Bubba Bubba
You’re absolutely right. I don’t know how they do it but Destiny does a great job at blending Sci-fi with stuff like medieval, Egyptian, a little bit of Lovecraftian, among other genres. Its one of the things that sucked me into the lore of Destiny.
“Last Stand” the boss version of this in the kings fall raid is also amazing too and is highly recommended you listen to that as well
You should also do reactions to the Destiny trailers to also visually experience the game
Please react to the first disciple i think it's definitely in my top 3 of favorite boss songs my top 3 right now would be. The first disciple, Oneirophobia and Heretical Omen
This game was my childhood ✊
Love your videos. :)
ty!!
This track will always take me back to throwing hands with a fucking god king for the first time
Gunslinger from Destiny 2 can be a great piece of the score to react to and to make Destiny players cry to😂
The memories
These main themes were very good for boss fights since they "looped" very well until the climax of the fight where the boss is killed.
I believe it! Getting themes to loop well is an incredibly complex process for composers, and always impressive
@@emyoung The boss fight from D1 original base game is actually made up of 3 looping tracks that transition between phases of the fight and then go to a climatic ending. Its really well done musically
@@emyoung The Black Garden boss fight is a combination of "Ishtar Sink", "Excerpt 2 From the Rose", and "Excerpt from the Union" all transitioning in to the next during a fight sequence.
I believe now is the time for the reactions of another musically brilliant game.
Probably one of the best combinations, from classical to rock, hip-hop and electronic music.
Genshin Impact ranks in the top three in my music collection. In my entire music collection. Not just ost from games or movies.
please react to look within, its arguably the most impactful soundtrack in destiny
If I may suggest you some more game songs, there is this small mobile game called Genshin Impact that has one of the best soundtracks in the gaming industry. Most of them are very quick character demos so you might be able to fit 4 to 5 demos into a single video. Hoyoverse (the developer) also doesn't often copyright strike people for reacting to its content so it's a safe bet that will 100% bring you more viewers (we fans love to see music people's reactions since it's such a unique soundtrack).
I would suggest starting with the 4 current archons: Venti, Zhongli, Raiden Shogun, and Nahida. All character demos are available on Genshin Impact's UA-cam Channel (lots of covers out there but I would stick to the official music).
Cheers from Brazil.
There is also a second version of this when u meet the boss for the final showdown in the kingsfall raid.
It's called last stand
I also recommend "siege engine" from the wrath of the machine raid. Specifically this one, others leave out an essential piece of the music ua-cam.com/video/xQ4H5dmxexw/v-deo.html
You should listen to Shadow thief from the taken King album and then listen to desolation from the beyond light album, and see if you can spot what special about these two songs As they are connected
I dont known if you will see this, but in case you do, please take this request and listen to these titles from the destiny music universe:
- The First Disciple
- Santicfied Mind
- Heretical Omen
- Riven of a Thousand Voices
- Shell of what was
- Gambit theme
Shell of what once was is amazing
The Forsaken Theme is the best
Destiny has so much great music, I hope you listen to more of it! I would also like to add so does Halo. Have you ever checked any of it's OST out? If not here are some of the ones I regard IMO as some of the best:
Halo, On a Pale Horse / Pale Rider, Covenant Dance, Halo Theme: Mjlonir Mix, Unforgotten, Three Gates, One Final Effort, Never Forget, Deference for Darkness, Neon Night, Skyline, Finale, Insignificantia, Epilogue, Ashes, 117, Arrival, Green and Blue, Blue Team, Escharum, Know my Legend, The Road, Through the Trees, Under Cover, and Echoes of Orion. There are yet so many more I could name!
Bow to no one and Queens oracle are the best two they've ever done, tangled shore is great too but kinda short
I would definitely recommend Athanasia and Security Breach, preferably together since they're more of a pair
The recognition of Destiny's music is really nice to see
In the almost same style, you have the Witch Queen theme who can also be fun to compare with this one due to the musics realised for two "Hive" leader :p
I would very much recommend “the first disciple” and “seeking the light” from the witch queen
This song will always be a 10/10 but I think it becomes the best when you first meet oryx face to face and he opens with “at last I will have vengeance”
REMEMBRANCE, it’s the best soundtrack imo
this piece was an assassination attempt on the brass section
you definitely should check some Ace Combat's soundtrack too... Zero and Daredevil are two musts
I'd love to see you react to Keith Power's music for Warframe, starting with especially "This is What You Are", "We All Lift Together", "For Narmer", and "Sleeping in the Cold Below".
My own personal opinion, the tracks "Long Live the King" more embody the power of the Taken King. Regicide is more about us taking him down.
If you get a chance take look at it. Love it! Keep it up!
May be a late comment, but last stand, which is the theme that plays in the kings fall raid also probably embodies oryx more than regicide. The most memorable part of regicide for me will always be the door opening, not the battle itself, while last stand is more for oryx himself in his full glory
Destiny music has always been great but it’s evolved so much. I’d love to see you react to some of the newer tracks such as Oneirophobia from the Lightfall DLC or The First Disciple from The Witch Queen DLC!!
omg the fucken nostalgia hit lol
To my mind, you should try “tyrant overthrown”, especially after 3 minutes…I had a blast during the final mission and this ost was the icing on the cake…but all the lightfall musics are awesome to my mind… in every case as always great video!
Suggestion for one of the best pieces from the Taken King: "Bow to no one," and its follow up in Destiny 2: "Queen's Oracle." Both tracks can be done back to back as the first is the original theme, and the second is a reprise
You should listen to the Rise of Iron main theme. One of my favs.
It is criminal you haven’t done Bury the Light yet
Listen to theme of laura from Silent hill 2 !!! such an amazing track
Please listen to The man they called cayde! So many emotions in one song
Ever checked out the metal band SepticFlesh? They have similar dark, violent orchestral arrangements to the Destiny style.
Idk if you'd be interested in something like this but there is a video by some one here on youtube called A Dubious Task who did a video of the final boss of Destiny 2's Vow of the Disciple Raid that only has the music audio, so you get to hear how the dynamic music in that boss fight works as the fight progresses. Its really cool to see it in action like that and I recommend it.
Here's a link to the video :)
ua-cam.com/video/uPnRjJB5Q4A/v-deo.html
It’s more like 50/50 sci-fi *and* fantasy
Oryx, death, King
The track Towerfall is pretty good if you haven't checked that one out.
I’ve watched enough, time to sub 🔔
Love your reactions and input! You should react to Discipline from the latest expansion's OST. IMO it's even better than Deep Stone Lullaby!
Please react to The First Disciple, its suck an amazing track.
Love the reactions btw
Great video! if possible react to the song "Dust Giants"
You need to listen the Witch queen soundtrack Kings Decent really good
HORN APPRECIATION THANK YOU
Do you think you could react to the soundtrack of Warhammer 40k mechanicus ?
Ah man, you should have connected this to Path to Oryx, this is a two part piece and the first half builds up to this epic half. I hope you see this comment for that experience alone
try bow down to no one, next thats part of the taken king expansion and also cabal breach
Its "bow to no one"
you should listen silent hill room of angel
If you ever do get into the gameplay of Destiny you look the type to be a Warlock oh yes definitely i would love to see you jump into the gameplay
I've played a tiny bit of Destiny 2 but barely past the tutorial!
@@emyoung that sounds like a start ive so far been loving your uploads on the destiny music but if i may ask Warframe is a similar game with a awsome soundtrack whenever you can make the time "This is what you are" is a very uplifting piece
@@heryanpuservantofanubis1469 also a listen to Apostate after.
@@roycelang1977 definitely
You should react to oneirophobia from destiny 2 lightfall
coming VERY soon:)
@@emyoung 👍👍
It's always neat seeing people with significantly more music knowledge than me give their thoughts on music I like.
I'd love to see your take on the _Project Wingman_ soundtrack. A while back, I put together a short playlist of what I feel are the 5 best tracks from it, featuring official uploads by the composer himself. ua-cam.com/play/PLAVEC4I7eT2prt9WQ2S613tJZCxnZ1eMf.html
Would also watch you play the game if youre into gaming
I'm hoping to play a bit of Destiny on twitch, yes!
I vote for Holliday for the next song
simpler times
If you are interestet in a good metal OST and games Metal: Hellsinger might be the thing for you.
Really like what i've heard from this one
pls do Onierophobia (full action)
posted Oneirophobia!
Moreover, if you like listening something current there is this one: ua-cam.com/video/awoE9Pcq0pE/v-deo.html
Have you not done Cyberpunk 2077 yet? 'Outsider No More', 'Bells of Laguna Bend' and 'Never Fade Away (SAMURAI cover)' to name but a few. I hope you haven't and I hope you do.
i haven't!
Guardian flank right I got the left with an Immortal killer, dazedNconfused420 hold the middle now suppress with everything you got Oryx will fall trust in me... we all died 😂
listen to destiny original opening track also babymetal
Please react to slayers gate from doom eternal
The Destiny requests have got to be getting old, but!... Please do Watchtower. I have never found a single react to it and that is a crime.
Love Destiny music but you should listen to Ace combat music 🙂
Example: Daredevil Ace combat 7
Witcher 3's OST is absolutely great, definately something to look into "Kaer Morhen" (ua-cam.com/video/TJuPBBw-l-M/v-deo.html) one of my favorites
pls react to destiny2 the first disciple or destiny 2 forsaken Shell of What Was
May I suggest you react to bloodborne OST , more specificly , Ludwig the holy blade.
well , I should say ; Ludwig the accursed & the holy blade . they go together
Ludwig reaction is already up!! more BB coming soon:)
@Em Young ah lol, didn't even notice. I'll check it out 👍
