I got self esteem and self-love. Finally I love myself. I'm proud of myself. I'm stopped judging myself. Started celebrating all my wins. Spoke nicely about me to myself. Explored my style even more. Started doing skincare and make up. So I feel good, I feel pretty, I feel confident, I know I have hobbies, I know I got something to bring to the table, I've got qualities. This is what helped me. I’ve had low self-esteem and low self-efficacy ever since I can remember. I’ve never been top of the class, strongest performing employee etc. But I’ve realized in terms of achievement, I’m on par with most people out there. I went to college and graduate school, have been employed since high school and have a family. It is because of perfectionism and a lack of external validation that I constantly feel like I’m not meeting expectations. I tell myself I’m only good if I exceed expectations, but never feel like I do. Now that I’ve got some awareness over this. I’d like to finally start feeling good about myself. Yes I highly relate. I was very sheltered as a child and was not really allowed to socialize with others & bullied. Man did this mess me up. But I am addressing it now; the healing journey is long and hard - but so worth it.
@@happycreature3993 Exactly what they said - undoing allll the negative self talk. I'll explain what I do specifically. Incredible video @Psych2go! Despite how much I've grown, there's still so much more I can do to improve and build my self esteem. I've also realized that I still have a long way to go in gaining more confidence. In this video I really appreciated how you brought up that acknowledging events from our past can be beneficial for ourselves in moving forward. Additionally, you made a great point in how we need to acknowledge our strengths and weaknesses in order to appreciate how we are. Also a bit of a side note here, but having the phrase "you matter" at the end of some of your videos speaks volumes and truly does mean the world to everyone who watches them. So, I just wanted to once again say, thank you @Psych2go!
I’ve had low self esteem for as long as I can remember. When I was about like 7 years old, I remember having a breakdown in my house and kept telling myself that I’m a failure and I wish I was never born. I tried locking myself in my room for a week (didn’t work out), and when I was like 10 I would think about hurting myself often. All my life I had done what people told me to, let people invade my boundaries, etc. Now I get no sleep, I don’t eat, and I don’t take care of myself in general until I saw this video. Thank you so much Psych2Go, ❤ your videos always help out so much. And to everyone else, stay healthy and love yourself!

I always go to this channel in times of need, like today, where I feel like I suck and the one thing a good at, swimming. This is helping me not break down whenever I go to the bathroom or see some sort of pool. Thank you so much ❤️

My hero is Robin Williams bc he was a light to others despite struggling with addiction, dementia, and depression. I want to be Robin Williams when i grow up bc he was an amazing storyteller, he was a fighter, and he was strong in his craft, experiences, and as a person.
i do suffer from increased low self esteem and say to myself that iam ugly, iam bad just always criticising about myself of who iam iam it really feels awful this video has helped me alot to get self esteem and feel good about myself i will get better
The most important way to improve self esteem is to develop your own skills and abilities. Work hard to get better at something. Study harder and get better grades. Do a great job at work. Learn a new job skill. Get better at a musical instrument or artistic skill. Develop an athletic skill or lose weight through diet and exercise. Just work on yourself and get better. Avoid time-sucks on the internet. If you become more valuable to others, you will recognize your own worth.
@@aurora00 No, self esteem comes from a sense of your own competence. If you are good at something, it makes you feel good about yourself. You see that value reflected in others when they value you, but their recognition is not your source of value. It just helps persuade you of your value.
Understanding self esteem isn’t just about feeling good, it’s about building a foundation that supports us in becoming resilient, confident, and self assured in a world full of challenges and judgments.
Thanks very much i am 17 and have been struggling with my parents issues so i really needed to love myself and stop being depressed this video helped me alot thanks again
Thanks for the insightful video… cuz my self esteem isn’t the best either… but I hope to improve it a lot. Thx Psych2Go, your videos have slowly helped but also changed my life and perspective in so many ways. Additionally, bringing back Amanda’s voice is a welcome thing for any video you guys make.
I met a girl when I was in 1st grade. I was in the bathroom, and heard someone walk in, and being the outgoing extrovert I was, I said "Hi I'm ____, what's your name?" "I'm Lucile!" And beaming with excitement at what I misheard, I shouted "A SEAL?!?" as in the animal. Our friendship quickly grew and I considered her my "sister in arms" if you will. One year in 4th grade, we missed our bus home, so her mom picked us both up and I went home with her that evening. Still, I was rather naive to the things she was planting in my head. I remember a time when she had held her hand up to her waist and showed me how it was only "one hand wide" and then did it to me and showed me that my belly was "two hands wide." I felt discouraged, but shook it off nonetheless. As we got older, she began to completely ignore me and only ever hung out with her popular friends. One day in middle school, I sat down at one of the largest lunch tables and waited for my friends to sit down next to me. But they never did. This 10ft table and one lonely, vulnerable, impressionable girl sitting alone wondering what on earth she did wrong. I was told I wasn't enough, and that I needed to change. "maybe then my friends will like me again." A 10 year old girl, hadn't even hit puberty yet, who had been betrayed by the ones she depended on most, had suicidal thoughts. I'm 14 years old now, and though I still struggle with nitpicking at myself and wishing I "was prettier," I don't let the comments from others get to me. It was the grace of God that saved me, and I'm still here today. You don't have to conform to others standards to find comfort. If you have people telling you that you aren't enough, then ignore them and find better friends.
i sent this video to my best friend, kelly, she's the most vulnerable yet sweetest person you could ever meet she has problems with self esteem, and i have been doing all i can to help her, so i thought, why not, send her a video to help her on that journey from the very channel that has helped me literally cure someone elses depression? and here i am, hoping for the best, with the highest hopes ty, Psych2Go, for..existing, in general, i don't know where would i be without u

Favorite hero’s are Spider-Man, Batman, and Superman Reasons: Spider-Man: He inspires me to get back up even though life is a total jerk sometimes Batman: Shows the results of hard work and what you’re capable of if you stick to it Superman: shows that you can be strong, strong willed, and still be a kind person.
It's rare for me to even give myself self-love for the reasons that I do feel it's a selfish act to me. I set myself rules in my head with Do's and Don'ts on what I am allowed to do as a person to make me feel happy. I think now in my life is the time to start focusing hard on issues such as very low self esteem and self-love since it's really putting me down. I've also had issues with myself with asking friends or family for advice or support since I truly feel I need to deal with it on my own, it feels wrong for me to reach out sometimes unless I can't handle it anymore. I will even apologize to people helping me since I feel selfish asking for help.
Hi actually I need some help I have been feeling quite mentally drained from school so much that I feel like crying even though I am 12 and everyday in school I feel anxious and tensed every single second I just can't relax and feel like taking leaves from school and feeling lack of motivation so do you have any tips please I really need it ???
Whenever you start feeling the pressure try blocking everything out(😅only when you can. Kinda hard to do when your teacher is in the middle of the lesson.)take a deep breath & tell yourself I can do this. Then set a limit. Can I make it 1 more hour? Maybe 30 mins, maybe you can only stand 5 more mins, that's fine. Start there & check back internally in 5 mins. How am I feeling now? Maybe try a bathroom break. Sometimes it's good to just sit in the bathroom & take 5 deep breaths. Check internally again. If you can also try to talk to your parents or the school counselor, a teacher you trust or even a friend your age. You'll be surprised at the insight others in your life may have. I hope this helps. Good luck! ❤ & hang in there. Life is tough, but it DOES get better.
I want to say that... The past does not define us, but our past has built who we are now and it is the story we carry through our lives, writing more chapters. Thus, without our own past, we would not be us but someone else and therefore we should accept ourselves.
Hey psych2go! My favorite heroes are Skipper penguin from TV Madagascar series and Moomin pappa from the Moomins :3 And the text "we are going on an adventure!" Well... in the newest Moomins from 2019 Pappa Moomin said so x3
I've had lots of bullying because im short i was in 5th grade and i was 4'5 and the other people in my class were like 5'2-5'4 and they were always bullying me and i had no friends because of that 😢😢 and im always thinking about it to this day im still bulled and feel like a failer but every one sees the potential in me im 14 and im in gymnasticts im level 3 on team i know thats a big strech but im not flexing and i feel like im a little dumb but im not and i know that but i feel like i am and i love these vids because they give my so much info makes me happeir and keep it up uour vids are great and good bye.❤❤❤
Подумать только! Буквально сегодня я думала о том насколько я не уверенна в себе и не люблю себя и готова все время провалится сквозь землю)))) и тут ваше видео о низкой самооценке...Спасибо!!
For me, my Parents were emotionally abusive and I was bullied at school as well. My favorite hero is A higher power, Sailor Moon, Yes Pretty Cure 5 hero’s, BTS and BT21. Also Winnie the Pooh is A Cuddly Wise Bear.
“It takes strength to face our sadness and to grieve and to let our grief and anger flow in tears when they need to. It takes strength to talk about our feelings and to reach out for help and comfort when we need it.” - Fred Rogers “Don’t be afraid to give your best to what seemingly are small jobs. Every time you conquer one it makes you that much stronger. If you do the little jobs well, the big ones will tend to take care of themselves.” - Dale Carnegie
i have a question. Why might you feel like you have different personalities around different people? and thank you for the video :). i’ll try my best to do these things.
But how can I make myself believe I'm happy when I'm really not happy? Why would I live a self-made lie? I'm 19 (well, in 6 days) and I'm already deep into hopelessness. I really don't trust anyone anymore: I feel like people just cheer me up because of pity and I only pretend to be cheered up just to not hurt them. My existence has never been and it's not important to anyone: the world wouldn't even notice I'm not here. I'm also convinced that I'm gonna die alone and never find that special person (who would want to be with a wind guy that can only spit facts about useless topics that I don't even fully understand or have knowledge of and that only knows how to give more pity about non-existent problems?), and my mental and emotional problems are nothing compared to what others may feel. Still, the last persons I would let to know about all of these would be by family, I simply don't trust them. Right now, my only goals in life are: - Finish university, work, get money, move alone to anywhere far from my family and then get help. - Not let the intrusive thoughts take full control. - Learn how to sing and growl. - Learn to write lyrics and, eventually, songs.
Literally came out when I most needed it ❤ thanks❤

can you share more about what you do to overcome low self-esteem? I'm curious and i want to know

But I am addressing it now; the healing journey is long and hard - but so worth it.

1. Be someone else
2.
Heh.
I want to say that... The past does not define us, but our past has built who we are now and it is the story we carry through our lives, writing more chapters. Thus, without our own past, we would not be us but someone else and therefore we should accept ourselves.
I appreciate your effort in making this video, very useful
More content like this, please. I need it 🥹

And the text "we are going on an adventure!"
Well... in the newest Moomins from 2019 Pappa Moomin said so x3
Accepting myself feels weird, when it feels like I'm a different person every day.

Right now, my only goals in life are:
- Finish university, work, get money, move alone to anywhere far from my family and then get help.
- Not let the intrusive thoughts take full control.
- Learn how to sing and growl.
- Learn to write lyrics and, eventually, songs.
Can I ask you if writing lyrics and learning to sing make you happy?
