Proofing tip. If your oven has a light in it, Turn on the light and place the dough in the oven. The light puts off just enough heat to give the dough a nice warm place to rise. Chef Jerry

This is THE best recipe hands down!!! I have made bread several times before, and they've always came out dense or smelling and tasting too much of yeast for my taste. The techniques that you use in this recipe make for a light, fluffy, and great smelling loaf! I followed the recipe to a tee and was so proud of myself... for the 1st time, my kid ate my bread and didn't ask for "the real supermarket bread" instead 🤣

I always read the comments under bread recipes and they ALL say exactly what you say. It makes me so confused! They all have different ingredients and amounts. I've just started bread making with artesian bread, but it is so hard crusted.
I want to make this soft bread but with all these different recipes ingredients, I can't decide. This is the only recipe that has butter, instead if oil, and Milk!

    • @dgarnett4220
      @dgarnett4220 25 днів тому

You can use milk or water. Butter or oil your choice. Makes no difference . Bread dough is forgiving . Just proof the yeast 10 min. First after first mixing let sit for 15. Min. , does help dough trust me. Then knead

turn on your oven light 15 minutes prior to making this bread.. once your dough is ready for the first rising place it in the oven covered with a tea towel it will raise beautifully in about an hour..got this cool idea from my Mother..worked every time... don't forget to press out the gas out of the dough before you move on to the final process of the making the bread..re-rise it again for about an hour then bake it at desired temperature usually 350 degrees F for about 30 minutes

I made the bread on Saturday and even though I had a bit of a challenge at one of the steps (the dough didn't come together for me in the mixer) I just turned the dough out on a marble slab and kneaded it by hand and it came out perfect. I made your recipe last month and the bread came out so wonderful, my wife lost her balance and used the bread I made as a cushion. So after I wiped the tears from my eyes, I made sure she was alright. I still was able to eat the bread I baked. I have another dough rising at this time, it’s Tuesday February 13th at 6 am. I will put this bread up high this time. Haha. Why I waited so long between baking the bread again is beyond me. Thank you for the recipe and the vid too, shows us what’s going on in the process, walking us through. I live in Louisiana, it’s a great place if you like heat, humidity, and mosquitoes, big ones. No, they’re not the pelicans, that’s a bird, but they’re close in comparison. Haha. But, you know the food here is so tasty and great to eat, that kinda makes up for the other horrible things I just mentioned. I can’t wait to live in paradise on earth, I will be able to bake my bread forever. (Psalms 37:29) The righteous will possess the earth, And they will live forever on it. Jehovah promises this to be. (Isaiah 55:11) So my word that goes out of my mouth will be. It will not return to me without results, But it will certainly accomplish whatever is my delight. ❤Happy baking❤

This is definitely the very best white loaf we have ever made. It turns out every time. We quit making all of our other white sandwich bread recipes and would recommend it to everyone. The best part of making it is smelling it bake. Thank you for posting it, your dark bread recipe is very good as well. Thanks!!!!

I made a beautiful loaf (great "sponge"), with this recipe, and a few simplifications. My particular disability is that I easily get confused (post-stroke), so I need to reduce steps and ingredients to their simplest form.
    1. Stated all measurements in Tbsp. Ex., 1 1/2 tsp (salt) = 1/2 Tbsp; 2 tsp (yeast) rounded to 1 Tbsp (3 tsp) OR simply use 1 packet (2.25 tsp).
    2. Eliminated the poulis (mixing yeast with water+), because INSTANT active dry yeast does not require this step -- just combine flour, yeast, sugar and salt.
    3. Heat 1 cup Milk and 2 Tbsp water. Also temperature can be up to the 120s, per yeast instructions.
    4. All other instructions remain the same.
This is now the EASIEST white bread recipe. The bread is approximately a 50% hydration -- the ratio of liquid to flour, and a classic white bread.
Thank you for posting this video!

Bob Riopel awesome! I have a query, since you used instant yeast, did you make any adjustment to the 2 tsp of active dry yeast. I really want to try this recipe. Thanks.

The humidity and elevation make a big difference in making bread. I’ve made the same yeast roll recipe in Texas, Kentucky and Georgia. The first time there was such a difference with amount of flour especially in Georgia I thought I had miscounted. Keep making bread as taste is more important than beauty. Beauty comes in time. Have fun with your baking!

I’m fairly new to the bread making world myself, but as I go I’m learning that I prefer a sticky dough RATHER THEN to much flour!! Cause u can always add a little more flour while in kneading process!! I flour table my hands, turn dough out onto the table, always add a little at a time as you go you’ll find your favorite consistency, hope this helps, knead on lol

Great video! I've used this recipe twice so far. Both times without a mixer. My children love helping. I have them do all the mixing and kneading, and it provides them with a few life skills (measuring/baking/mixing/ect). The bread turned out fantastic! Reminded me of my grandma's house. This next time I make it I'm planning on adding a little cinnamon and honey to spice it up a bit. Not that the bread is lacking, but just to put my own spin on things. Thank you so much for the step by step and great product! God bless this women.

I made the bread today after watching the video several times over the past 3 months at least to gain confidence. OMG! It came out very well. The only drawback is it didn’t brown brown to a dark golden brown. It looked like the store bought brown. Maybe because I used a ceramic loaf pan. Never going to bake bread in a bread machine.

I have been baking bread now for maybe 4 years plus? It took a good two years to finally like a recipe but I still hate the doughy texture & results that I get with strong & extra strong bread flour. I did make it with so many things like cream, and milk and honey and dry milk powder but none were ever as fluffy & soft as this one has turned out. I have even used APF a couple of times, hated the soft texture plus there wasn't a rise at all. I have thrown away my bread maker, it wasn't quite kneading the dough & results were bad. Finally after a long time I've had a successful bake. Thank you so much. I have just binned all the recipes saved over the years, I am only sticking to this one now.
